Battle: Hilda's Eelektross VS Ted's Eelektross
"Eelektross, use Thunder Wave" TEd called, and his Eelektross shot a beam of electrical energy at Hilda's Eelektross, but Hilda was ready.
"Eelektross, use a spinning Wild Charge to deflect the Thunder Wave" Hilda called, and Eelektross cloaked itself with electricity, and deflected the electrical energy, avoiding Paralysis. Then, Hilda's Eelektross charged into Ted's Eelektross, inflicting Minor damage and taking Slight recoil.
"Crunch her Eelektross" Ted called, and his Eelektross' fangs grew and were cloaked in anti-positive energy, and charged at Hilda's Eelektross.
"Eelektross, dodge it" Hilda called, and her Eelektross narrowly avoided the crunch.
"Now quick, return" Hilda called, and her Eelektross' arm was cloaked in white energy, and punched Ted's Eelektross, dealing a quarter of its health in damage.
"Quick, respond, Dragon Claw" Ted called, and his Eelektross' claws were cloaked in draconic energy, and slashed Hilda's Eelektross, dealing Minor damage.
"I see you've made good friends with you Eelektross Hilda. But will it be enough to win?" Ted asked, to which Hilda replied "We'll see. Eelektross, use Return again" Hilda called, and her Eelektross' arm was cloaked with white energy, and punched Ted's Eelektross, dealing Moderate damage.
"Eelektross, use Thunder Wave" Ted called, and his Eelektross hit Hilda's with the beam of electricity, Paralysing it.
"You OK Eelektross?" Hilda asked, to which Eelektross nodded. Ted then added "Now, Eelektross, use Dragon Claw" Ted called, and his Eelektross cloaked its claws with draconic energy and slashed Eelektross, dealing Minor damage.
"Eelektross, respond with Crunch" Hilda called, and Eelektross' fangs grew and were cloaked in anti-positive energy, and bit Ted's Eelektross, inflicting Minor damage.
"Eelektross, use Crunch too" Ted called, and his Eelektross' fangs grew and glowed with Anti-Positive energy, and bit Hilda's Eelektross, dealing Minor damage.
"End this, Return" Hilda called, but took Minor damage again as it was immobilised by Paralysis. However, the second time, its arm glowed white successfully, and KO'ed Ted's Eelektross.
"Eelektross is unable to battle, Eelektross wins. The victor is Hilda of Nuvema Town" the referee called, and both Eelektross and Hilda cheered.
Conclusion: Hilda's Eelektross wins.
In the stands
"Alright, she won, even with her Eelektross being Paralysed," Ash said, cheering himself, and Hilbert responded "That's my sister, show them what you've got"
"Thanks, guys" Hilda replied as she headed out, victorious, and she had her Eelektross healed up.
After Hilda's battle, the next Group 5 battle was between Camper Victor and Backpacker Jax in a double battle.
Ash, Hilbert and Hilda, however, heard Jax say something ominous before the battle started.
"I'm here to start my path to revenge on Team Plasma, and those who enable them," he said before the battle started.

"I'm not so much disturbed by him wanting revenge on Team Plasma, but I am much more disturbed by the line 'those who enable them'" Hilbert said, to which Ash nodded.
"Yeah. I'd keep an eye on that one if I was you" Ash responded.
Back to the arena
However, he turned out to be pretty much all talk, as his Unfezant and Basculin were flattened by Victor's Weavile and Simipour.
"You talk of revenge, but do you even know who you want to take revenge against?" Victor asked, to which Jax replied "That's none of your business" before he departed. Jax shrugged, then headed off himself.
He found Drayden, and said "We need to keep an eye on Jax"
"Agreed, I've got something to do just that" Drayden replied, to which Jax said "Good"
"Just focus on getting through the Group stages, OK?" Drayden asked, to which Jax nodded.
"Good, my student" Drayden replied, and he departed. Jax then returned to his quarters.
The final battle of Group 5 was between Ace Trainer Drakon and Swimmer Tessa in a Rotation Battle. And despite facing a Vanilluxe, among Liepard and Sigilyph, his Zweilous, Druddigon and Haxorus came out barely victorious.
"Whew, that was a close one" Drakon admitted to himself as he celebrated a hard-fought victory.
"And with that, that's the end of Group 5. Now, prepare yourself for the start of Group 6" Drayden said, to the roar of the crowd.
"Hey bro, did you see my victory?" Hilda asked, to which Hilbert replied "Yeah, I did sis, that was great work under pressure"
"You've come a long way Hilda" Ash replied, smiling, which she returned. Hilda then added, "So, anyone we know in Group 6?"
"None in Groups 6 or 7, Hugh's in Group 8 though" Hilbert replied, consulting the Group lists. Ash nodded, then said, "Did you hear what Jax said though Hilda?"
"Yeah. Not surprising, though it shouldn't be anything to be concerned about, since he got flattened by Jax" Hilda replied, to which both Ash and Hilbert nodded.
Meanwhile, the trainers in Group 6 had got ready for their first round of battles.
And the first battle of Group 6 is between Beauty Hermiornie VS Clerk Nanaka in a single battle. And it was a Cryogonal off, with Hermiornie's proving the stronger one, defeating Nanaka's pretty easily.
In the stands, Hilda said "Just like with me against Ted, there was a battle between two trainers with the same Pokémon"
"Yeah, it was a well-fought battle nonetheless" Ash responded, to which both Hilbert and Hilda nodded.
Back on the arena, the second battle of Group 6 got underway between Policeman Bobhiko and Scientist Carver in a Single battle. And thanks to a cheeky fake-out, Policeman Bobhiko's Zoroark pretty quickly defeated Carver's Grumpig.
"Huh, didn't know you had a Zoroark on your team," Carver said, to which Bobhiko nodded, and replied "Nobody expects Zoroark", then they departed.
In the stands, Hilbert said "Zoroark is a tricky Pokémon to face, especially that Illusion Ability"
"Yeah, something we're all going to have to watch out for if Bobhiko gets past the group stage" Ash replied, nodding.
Back to the arena, the final battle of Group 6 started between Scientist Dmitri and Hiker Eric in a Triple Battle. And after a pretty close battle, Dmitri's Golduck, Unfezant and Conkeldurr defeated Eric's Lickilicky, Beheeyem and Mienshao, securing victory for Dmitri.
After the trainers departed, Drayden returned and called "And after this epic battles from Group 6, it's time to welcome Group 7 for their first round of battles", and the crowd clapped and cheered.
The first battle of Group 7 was between Youngster Dorian and Bird Keeper Eric in a Rotation Battle. And after a pretty close battle, but in the end, Enid's Amoonguss, Banette and Crustle defeated Dorian's Sandslash, Jellicent and Toxicroak.
The next battle was between Pilot Kendal and Veteran Margaret in a double battle. And despite only having a team of Steel-type Pokémon, Margaret's Steelix and Magnezone were able to work together, combining Magnet Rise and Steelix's Ground-type, defeated Kendal's Slaking and Whimsicott, demonstrating her skill as a trainer in the Type Expert Tournament.
In the stands, Hilbert said "No wonder she won, if she's a trainer in the Type Expert Tournament"
"Yeah, it's really cool" Ash replied, and Hilda also nodded.
Back in the stands, the final battle of the first round of Group 7 began between Lass Danielle and Ace Trainer Xavier in a triple battle. And after a very close battle, Xavier's Archeops, Heracross and Braviary defeated Danielle's Bronzong, Krookodile and Heatmor.
In the stands, Ash said "That was close, those two are ones to watch", to which Hilda replied "Agreed, they're both formidable"
Once Group 7 had finished, Drayden returned to the arena and said "And with that, we're half-way through the first round of matches. Now, it's on to Group 8, including one of the Aspertia City wonder stars of tomorrow, Hugh, and Delphine of the Type Expert Tournament" to the cheers of the crowd.
"Now Hugh gets his chance to shine," Ash said, and he notices that both Nate and Rosa had taken seats in the stands behind them.
"Hey guys," Ash said, waving to Nate, Rosa and Hugh, who all said "Hey there"
Then, a young girl said "Would it be OK if I joined you?", and when they turned around, they saw it was Hannah, Hugh's younger sister, who seemed to be fangirling over the three of them.
"Sure" Ash replied, and she took a seat next to Ash. She looked at Pikachu, and said: "Mr Ash sir, what Pokémon is that?"
"A Pikachu, my starter" Ash replied. Hannah smiled, then said, "Can I please pat it?"
"Sure, he loves pats" Ash replied, and Pikachu ran over to her, and allowed her to pat him, enjoying the affection.
"My big bro's in the next Group, wish him luck," Hannah said, to which Ash, Hilda and Hilbert all replied "Good Luck to Hugh"
In the arena, Hugh waiting with the other trainers, waiting for the start.
The first battle of Group 8 was between Battle Girl Wanda and Pokémon Ranger Makina in a Triple Battle. And after a close battle, Pokémon Ranger Makina's Carracosta, Simisear and Mantine defeated Battle Girl Wanda Drifblim, Magmortar and Amoonguss.
In the stands, Hannah said "Looks like Hugh's going to be in the third battle of Group 8" to which Ash replied "I think it's good to pay attention to the Group"
"True" Nate and Rosa both respond.
Back in the arena, Psychic Destiny prepared to take on Black Belt Hayden in a Double Battle.
And despite the disadvantages from taking on Hayden's Steelix and Vanilluxe, Destiny's Chandelure and Gothitelle triumphed in the end, showcasing her skills as a Type Expert Tournament trainer,
In the stands, Hannah, just about vibrating with excitement, said "My big bro's next"
"Calm down Hannah, you may be annoying Pikachu," Nate said, but Pikachu didn't seem to mind too much,
"Sorry," Hannah said, to both Pikachu and Ash, but Pikachu called that it was fine, and Ash replied "I'm aware that you're excited, so it's OK"
Back on the arena, Hugh stepped up to the arena and faced Psychic Delphine.
"The final battle of Group 8 will now begin between Hugh of Aspertia City and Delphine of Nimbasa City. The format clock will spin, and determine the format" the Referee called, and it spun onto a 1-on-1 Single Battle.
"Alright then. Starmie, let's go" Delphine said, and Starmie materialised. Hugh nodded, then responded with "Accelgor, let's show our might" and Accelgor materialised.
Battle: Accelgor VS Starmie
"Acdelgor, use Bug Buzz" Hugh called, and Accelgor unleashed waves of red-teal vibrations at Starmie, dealing Severe damage.
"Starmie, respond with Surf" Delphine called, and Starmie unleashed a wave of water at Accelgor.
"Accelgor, dodge it then use Bug Buzz again" Hugh called, and while Accelgor avoided the Surf, Delphine called "Now Starmie, Psychic" and Starmie unleashed a burst of psionic energy at Accelgor, dealing Considerable damage.
"End this, Bug Buzz" Hugh called, and Accelgor unleashed red-and-teal vibrations at Starmie, KO'ing it.
"Starmie is unable to battle, Accelgor wins," the Referee said, and both Accelgor and Hugh cheered.

In the stands, Hannah transferred Pikachu to Ash, then jumped up and down, cheering as she said "He won!" over and over again.
"Well done Hugh" the rest of the crew called as Hugh won.
At the end of Group 8, in the stands, Nate said "Oh, I'd better get to the arena, I'm in the next Group"
"Alright, good luck," the crew said, and Nate nodded, then headed off. Soon, Hugh returned and he got a big hug from Hannah, which he returned.
"Great battle bro," Hannah said, to which Hugh replied "Thanks sis, but it wasn't too hard", and he sat next to Rosa, with Hannah sitting on his other side.
Meanwhile, back in the arena, Drayden said "And that is Group 8 completed. Which means that Group 9 is up next, including the third of the Aspertia City wonder stars of tomorrow, Nate, and Castor of the Type Expert Tournament" to the cheers of the crowd.
"Good luck Nate" Hannah called, and the rest chuckled.
Back in the arena, the first battle between Camper Yosef and Scientist Celsius began, and it was a Rotation Battle. And after a close battle, Camper Yosef's Mienshao, Skarmory and Whimsicott defeated Celsius' Slaking, Golduck and Simisear.
"Nice battle. Now Nate gets his turn" Hannah said, to which Ash responded "Yep"
And soon, Nate arrived at the arena, he sees Scientist Castor on the other side.
The Referee then stepped up, and said "The battle between Nate of Aspertia City and Castor of Nimbasa City will now begin. The wheel will spin, and pick the format for this battle", and the wheel rotated, and landed on Rotation Battle.
"Alright. Swalot, Dustox, Gengar, let's do this" Castor said, and Swalot, Dustox and Gengar all materialised, with Gengar rotated in, Nate responded with "Reuniclus, Lanturn and Klinklang, Standby" and Reuniclus, Lanturn and Klinklang materialise, with Lanturn in the middle.
Battle: Reuniclus, Lanturn and Klinklang VS Swalot, Dustox and Gengar
"Gengar, use Shadow Ball" Castor called, and Gengar shot a ball of spectral energy at Lanturn, but Nate was ready.
"Defend yourself Lanturn, use Stockpile" Nate called, and Lanturn was able to cast itself in white energy and boost its defences, reducing the damage taken to Minor.
"Another Shadow Ball Gengar" Castor called, and Gengar once again shot a ball of spectral energy at Lanturn, dealing Minor damage.
"Lanturn, respond with Thunderbolt" Nate called, and Lanturn unleashed a blast of electricity, dealing Considerable damage.
"Gengar, keep up the Shadow Ball attacks" Castor called, and Gengar shot another ball of spectral energy at Lanturn.
"Lanturn, barrel straight through it with Hydro Pump," Nate said, and Lanturn shot a powerful blast of water at the Shadow Ball, destroying it.
"Dodge it Gengar, then Shadow Ball again" Castor called, and Gengar avoided the blast, and shot a ball of spectral energy at Lanturn, dealing Minor damage.
"Another Thunderbolt Lanturn" Nate called, and Lanturn unleashed another blast of electricity at Gengar, dealing Considerable damage.
"Keep the Shadow Balls up" Castor called, and Gengar shot another ball of spectral energy at Lanturn, dealing Minor damage.
"End this Lanturn, use Thunderbolt" Nate called, and Lanturn KO'ed Gengar with a blast of electricity.
Castor's arena then rotated to Swalot. Nate rotated to Reuniclus.
"Swalot, use Yawn" Castor called, and Swalot yawned, emitting a white cloud that hit Reuniclus and made it drowsy.
"Reuniclus, use Psychic" Nate called, and Reuniclus shot a burst of psionic energy at Swalot, dealing Significant damage.
"This isn't over yet, Swalot, use Gunk Shot" Castor called, and Swalot shot a ball of purple garbage at Reuniclus, dealing Moderate damage.
"Now it is, Reuniclus, Psychic again" Nate called, and Reuniclus shot another burst of Psionic energy at Swalot, KO'ing it.
"Argh' Castor said, and he withdrew Swalot and rotated to Dustox. Nate responded to this by rotating to Klinklang.
"Now, Dustox, use Bug Buzz" Castor called, and Dustox unleashed vibrations of red-and-teal energy at Klinklang, dealing Slight damage.
"Respond, use Gear Grind" Nate called, and Klinklang cloaked itself with silver energy and shot its gears into Dustox, dealing Considerable damage.
"Give it another Bug Buzz" Castor called, and Dustox unleashed vibrations of red-and-teal energy at Klinklang, dealing Slight damage.
"Keep the Gear Grind up Klinklang," Nate said, and Klinklang cloaked itself in silver energy, and shot the gears into Dustox, dealing Considerable damage.
"Another Bug Buzz, keep at it" Castor called, and Dustox unleashed vibrations of red-and-teal energy at Klinklang, dealing Slight damage,
"End this Klinklang, use Gear Grind" Nate called, and Klinklang cloaked itself in silver energy, then shot gears into Dustox, KO'ing it.
"Dustox is unable to battle, Klinklang wins. The Victor is Nate of Aspertia City" the Referee called as Castor withdrew his last Pokémon, and Nate celebrated with his team.
Conclusion: Reuniclus, Lanturn and Klinklang wins

"Nate won! Woohoo!" Hannah said, cheering and clapping as Nate won his battle. Hugh and Rosa both nodded, and Hugh said "So that's all three of us who have got victories first up"
"Yeah, hopefully, you guys can keep the streak up" Ash replied, to which they both nodded.
The final battle of Group 9 was between Lass Clarissa and Swimmer Yen in another Rotation Battle. And after a close match, Clarissa's Escavalier, Tropius and Zebstrika defeated Yen's Wailord, Liepard and Golurk.
And with that, Group 9 was finished. Drayden walked up, and said "And with that, the first round of Group 9 is over. Now, onto Group 10, and one of the favourites for the Unova League Championship, Maximus of Nacrene Town" and the crowd roared.
Meanwhile, Nate returns to the group in the stands.
"You did well out there Nate," Hannah said, to which Nate replied, "Heh, thanks, Hannah". He then sits on Rosa's other side, and added: "So, who's in this group?"
"Maximus is the big one, he and I go back a fairway. Initially, he might have been a rival for Hilda, but after the Driftveil Tournament, he's my main rival" Ash replied, to which they nodded.
"When is it your turn Ash?" Hannah asked eagerly, to which Ash replied "Not until the second-to-last group Hannah, then I'll get to shine"
"OK" Hannah replied.
The order was quickly determined, and the crowd went silent, for Maximus was in the first battle, against Scientist Levina.
And when Maximus stepped up, he saw Scientist Levina standing on the other side.
The Referee then stepped up, and said "The battle between Maximus of Nacrene City and Scientist Levina of Undella Town will now begin. The wheel will spin, and pick the format for this battle", and the wheel rotated, and landed on Triple Battle.
"Swanna, Pinsir and Sawsuck, let's go" Levina called, and Swanna, Pinsir and Sawsubuck materialised. Maximus nodded, then said "Vullaby, Zebstrika, Klinkang, let's show our power" and Vullaby, Zebstrika and Klinklang materialise.
