Bella! I am writing to you from my new personal computer!

Welcome to the new millennium! How is it?

So fast! I like it. Where are all the popups though?

I'm glad you like it. I don't think you'll get popups on this computer Edward.

Really? How unusual!

Did you have a good time shopping with Alice?

She's a force of nature. I'm exhausted. I've never seen anyone shop like her.

She's quite something. Do you need to sleep?

In a little while. Not just yet. I'm still ok after napping in the car.

So, what's next? For the project, I mean.

Let's try the sign language video course you found this week.

Sounds good. We should get some basic information down too, just fact checking.

Ok, do you want to do that now?

Sure.

Where were you born?

Chicago.

Really? Did you live there long?

I lived there with my parents until they died.

And then Alaska with the Cullens and Forks, right?

Yeah, we moved around for a while before that but most recently Alaska and Forks.

Right, when's your birthday?

June 20th. Yours was September 13th.

Thanks again for the cake! It was so unique!

You're welcome! I'm so glad it was delicious!

So when did you move to Arizona?

Mom took me there when I was a baby and then we stayed until this March when I moved here.

Got it.

What was Chicago like?

Windy! Cold in the winter, hot in the summer. I used to go swimming in Lake Michigan with my parents in the summer.

Isn't it polluted?

Probably, but we didn't think about that back then. It was nice.

What else did you do with them?

I used to go to see the White Sox play with my dad. He was always so busy, but that's something we did just the two of us.

Do you play baseball?

Sometimes, with my family. Carlisle is big on family activities.

Right, like the camping trips you guys take.

We all like being out in the woods.

You don't seem so outdoorsy. Appearances can be deceiving I guess.

They can indeed.

What are your hobbies, for the record?

Painting and drawing, playing piano, reading, languages and I love cars.

Your whole family seems to.

Rosalie and I especially, we like mechanics. Rose is great at fixing engines. Alice not so much, but she loves driving as well.

And your hobby is reading.

Yeah, I don't do much else in my free time because I just love books so much. I'm always busy around the house and with schoolwork too anyway.

I see. What are your plans after college? To be a writer?

Maybe something in publishing. I'm not sure yet. I don't write much so I doubt I'll become an author.

An editor maybe then?

Maybe. How about you?

I'm interested in architecture, so possibly that. I haven't decided yet. What did you want to be when you were little?

I wanted a bookshop. Or to write stories. Always something to do with books. You?

I wanted to be a soldier.

Really?

Yes, I was quite obsessed with it for a while, until I learned more about war and realised that I'd rather create things. I think my parents deaths had a big impact on my ambitions. I felt there was enough destruction in the world and stopped wanting any part of it.

I'm sorry about you parents.

It's ok. It was a long time ago. I was very lucky Carlisle came into my life to guide me.

It must have been a massive adjustment.

Yes, it took some years really. Sometimes I still don't feel like I got into the family well, but they're my family nonetheless.

Do you want to stay in Forks or move away after college?

I'll move away, I haven't decided where yet though. How about you?

I can't see myself going much farther than Seattle. I'd be too far from Charlie and he'll be on his own.

I see.

Ok, well I think that's most of the basic stuff I needed covered. I'm wiped out so I'm going to turn in.

Sleep well Bella.

Thanks, you too. I'll see you bright and early in the morning for pottery class! Excited!

Me too! I can't wait to see what we make!
