Their conversation ends with the girls and Liz a few minutes later. And Kerry and Tony find themselves sitting in silence, relishing in what they just witnessed.
Kerry breaks the silence as she says, "This has been some holiday, hasn't it?" He nods as he replies, "That it has. Lots of surprises to wrap our heads around for sure." She hears something in his voice, that causes her to ask, "What do you mean?" He loves that she knows him so well, and responds, "I wanted to ask you earlier. But of course there was no alone time to do it. So I will ask you now. What made you feel so comfortable with public affection today?"
She smiles as she says, "To be honest. It's something i did without thinking much about it. I think it's because lately i've been rethinking our future. And how I initially wanted to handle how we navigate our lives together."
He responds, "Really? And what prompted that frame of thinking?" She takes a breath as she replies, "Realizing that you, Isa, and the family are the most important aspects of my life. And while my career is extremely important to me. If i had to. I could live without doing another show or movie again if that was the end result. But, living without you and Isa, and our family, isn't an option. Being with you is my happy place, and I think i'm getting closer and closer to wanting to share my happy place with the world."
He can't believe his ears, it's like a dream he never thought could come true. Regardless, he is all in, no matter what though. And he asserts his position by replying, "Whenever you're ready babe. I will hold your hand proudly and openly as we face the world. But, know that I am in no rush. I meant what i said when i told you I am in this for the long haul, and on your terms. I don't regret a day of that decision, despite the inconveniences that occur at times. In the end, it's worth it for me to wake up to you and Isa everyday. Along with the promise of us expanding our family."
His heartfelt words mean everything to her. They share kisses that heat up quickly. And before they know it, they're in a full blown love session that rivals all previous ones. Neither one of them seem to care of where they are; plain and simple, it's going down regardless with no shame. Loving each other deep into the night, and early morning.
Despite the love romp that kept Kerry and Tony up past 2am; she manages to get up at 5am, dressed and ready to shop. Armed with apple cider and the warmest outer wear possible, her and the ladies hit the shopping plazas and malls, for black Friday, just after breakfast at a local diner that is on their shopping path.
As Kerry and Michelle opt to separate from their mothers' to look at some gifts for their spouses. They are laughing and joking as they make their way into a tech store called Spencer's. Michelle says, "I want to see if they have that bluetooth light feature, so we can play music while e shower." Kerry agrees, "That sounds cool and maybe sexy, depending on the music." She nods as she responds, "Yes indeed. Gotta keep it fresh." Kerry agrees with her, keeping it fresh and exciting is very important in a marriage.
When they enter the store, they're looking around and find an assortment of cool tech items. But, nothing really fitting Kerry's interest as a gift for anyone. However, as she puts back a clock that has voice announce, she was considering buying. She hears a familiar voice, that causes her to turn around.
She then sees the source of the voice, and before she can say anything. The person recognizes her, "Kerry, is that you?" She freezes in place, and Michelle, who manages to come up behind her as the interaction unfolds is also surprised, as she says under her breath, "oh damn."
Kerry hears her response, and sees her cousin in her peripheral, she is of like mind as she replies, "Well this isn't going to be awkward at all." Both of them chuckle, and prepare for an interaction neither one of them saw coming.
Thanks for reading this fanfiction tale. I appreciate the continued interest in this story. Looks like Kerry and Tony's trip to NYC will have some flare of the dramatic after all. Despite all of the feel good family moments they've shared up to this point. Inquiring minds want to know how this is going to go.
