Survivor Series: November 18, 2012
I sat in the locker-room with Randy. He was busy getting ready for his Survivor Series match later. I was supposed to be going with him, but I hadn't moved a muscle to get dressed up to manage him. Something about the idea of managing Randy tonight just didn't feel right to me, and I didn't know why. I had been feeling a bit off today, but I hadn't thought anything of it until right now. I wasn't so sure about managing Randy tonight.
Randy looked at me. "You alright?"
I nod. "Yeah, just having one of those days where I just feel gross."
"Are you going to be alright enough to manage me tonight?"
"Honestly, I'm not sure. I just feel off today, ya know?"
"Don't feel like you have to manage me tonight. If you can't, I understand. If you don't think you should, that's fine."
"Well, it's probably not the greatest idea."
"Then just stay back here tonight. It's fine. No hard feelings. I completely understand."
"Are you sure?"
Randy pulled me into a kiss. "I'm certain. Just stay back here, Marissa."
"Okay. Thanks, Randy."
"Absolutely. Did you hear anything on whether or not Colby is debuting soon or not?"
"I've asked around. Nobody seems to know anything."
"Well, I'm sure he will be sooner than later."
"I hope so."
"He's really good at this. He'll be debuting sooner than later."
"I know. I just want things to go well for him."
"And they will, Marissa. They definitely will."
"I just want him to have the kind of success that we're both lucky enough to have."
"Colby is one of the most talented wrestlers that I've ever seen. He'll have that success. The only thing he needs to do is maybe tone down that ego of his."
I laugh. "He does have a pretty big ego."
"Yeah, I'm going to go stop by John's locker-room. I'll be back."
"Alright."
Randy's POV
I walked into John's locker-room, where both he and Michelle were. "Hey."
"Hey." John says back to me.
"Where's Rissa?" Chelle asks.
"She's in our locker-room." I answer. "She shouldn't be busy with anything if you want to go see her."
"Alright, I'm going to go do that. See you later, Randy."
"See you later, Chelle."
John looks at me as Michelle exits the locker-room. "Are you good?"
"She isn't going to manage me tonight."
"Again? Why not?"
"She seemed off all day today. She never mentioned it to me. I had a feeling she wouldn't, and she didn't. I brought it up. Rissa admitted that she was feeling off. I told her that if she wasn't feeling up to it, then she doesn't need to manage me."
"Are you sure she isn't sick?"
"That's not what this is. When she's sick, she won't even get out of bed. This is something else."
"Why do I feel like you're about to say but?"
"But I feel like she isn't telling me something. Like I might be missing something here. Things aren't adding up."
"You've said she's been off for a few weeks. What have you noticed?"
"She's thrown up a few times, had a couple lightheaded spells, been having a lot of sugar cravings, and a couple of mood swings, which she won't admit to."
"I don't know what to say about that. It almost sounds like Chelle during the early parts of her pregnancy."
I stood frozen. "Sounds like what?"
"The early parts of Chelle's pregnancy…is there anyway…"
A lot of thoughts were crossing my mind. It was the only thing that made sense, and it could've been possible.
"Yeah, it's possible." I comment quietly.
"Randy…do you think Marissa is pregnant?"
"It's possible. She's not on birth control. We're not always careful. I just…after our struggles while we were trying, I wouldn't have thought…maybe she isn't. She hasn't said anything to me."
"Randy…"
"It's possible."
"Seriously?"
I shrug as I look at John. "I don't want to jump to conclusions."
"But does anything else make sense?"
"She would've told me. Would she have told me? We agreed we weren't going to try for a while. I hope she doesn't think she can't say anything."
"I don't think she knows."
I raise an eyebrow. "You don't?"
"It's Marissa. She'd be freaking out about this and stressing out about telling you. She doesn't seem too stressed right now. I don't think she knows."
"Should I ask her to take a pregnancy test?"
"No, she'll get there. Consider the fact that she's talking to Chelle right now. If Marissa mentions this to Chelle, Chelle will tell Marissa exactly what I told you. There's no way she wouldn't take a test after that."
I sigh. "I guess you're right. I don't know what I'm going to do."
"Don't ask her about it. Wait for her to tell you, and do not under any circumstances, have a bad reaction. It'll just make things worse."
"I'm not going to have a bad reaction. I want this. We agreed to stop trying because we weren't in a good place personally. We're better now. We just haven't discussed trying again. This is a big change though."
"You've been through this before."
"And in that case, the baby's mom took care of most things and just kept me posted. This is different. Rissa is my wife. She'll definitely want some help. I don't know if I'll be able to handle it."
"Stop doubting yourself, Randy. You'll be fine. Just relax and worry about your match for now."
Marissa's POV
Chelle walked into my locker-room. "Hey, Randy told me you were in here."
I smile. "Hey, nice to see you. We don't get too much time alone with each other anymore."
"Well I'll hang out until someone else barges in, so you can talk about whatever you want. Even things you want to keep between us."
"I finished the letters from my mom Friday night."
Chelle gives me a surprised look. "You did? Is that why you've seemed off all weekend?"
I shrug. "Partially. I feel like shit again. I talked to Randy, and I'm not gonna manage him tonight. I have no idea what's going on with me."
"Yeah, you've been saying that you've been going through some weird stuff. What all has happened?"
"I've thrown up a few times, had a couple lightheaded spells, and been having a lot of sugar cravings. Randy also thinks I've had a couple of mood swings. I have to use the bathroom a lot, and I'm always tired, all kinds of stuff. I don't understand what's going on with me."
"How long has this been going on?"
"A few weeks, why?"
"I'm going to ask you a few questions. Please promise me that you won't freak out."
I shrug. "I won't freak out. Ask away."
"When was your last period?"
"I don't remember."
"Are you and Randy careful about using protection?"
"Sometimes."
"Did you ever get back on birth control?"
"No…" I look at Chelle in shock. "Do you think I'm pregnant?"
"You're sounding like how I was early on during my pregnancy. It makes sense to me."
"I mean it's possible, but I'm having a hard time believing that might be it."
"When do you usually have your period?"
"At the beginning of the month…I don't remember having it this month."
"Are you pregnant?"
"Maybe…I think so. I don't have a pregnancy test. How am I supposed to get one without telling Randy and potentially giving him false hope?"
"You're not going to say anything to Randy?"
"Not until I take a test. I am not going to give him false hope. Which means that you can't mention this to anyone until I figure this out."
"Anyone?"
I sigh. "This is the only time I'm going to ask you to keep something from John. He's Randy's best friend. I don't want to ask him to keep this from Randy."
"Alright." Chelle gets into her purse. "I think I can help you out."
"You can?"
"I can." Chelle passes me a pregnancy test. "Use it whenever you're ready."
I take the pregnancy test from her and stare at it. "I think I'm going to wait until after we get back from going out tonight, but thank you."
"Of course, I'll keep this between the two of us for now."
"Thanks." I put the pregnancy test in my purse. "I'm sorry."
"It's alright. I understand where you're coming from."
The door opens, and Randy walks in.
Randy pulls me into his arms. "I just wanted to stop by and see you one last time before I have to head to guerilla. Are you doing any better?"
I shrug. "Not really. Chelle is keeping me company though."
"That's good." Randy kisses my forehead. "I love you so much."
"I love you too."
"I'm coming right back to you when I get done."
"Okay, I'll be waiting."
"Thank you." Randy gave me a short kiss. "Don't drive Chelle crazy."
I laugh as Randy lets me go. "I won't. Love you."
"Love you. Bye. Ryse and Eve are on their way in." Randy exits the room.
Chelle and I exchange a look as Eve and Ryse enter the locker-room.
"Hey, guys!" Chelle says. "Congrats on retaining, Eve!"
"Thanks!" Eve replies.
I sit back down on the couch, with a lot of things going through my mind. It seemed my life was about to change significantly.
Randy walked in just as the main event, a Triple Threat between Punk, John, and Ryback, was starting. He sat down next to me on the couch as the girls and I watched the match.
"I'm sorry about you losing." I whisper to Randy.
"Don't be. It's not your fault, Marissa." Randy quietly replies.
"I feel like it could've been avoided if I was there."
"It's not your fault, Marissa."
"I know."
"You weren't feeling good enough to be at ringside. Nothing wrong with that. I'm more concerned about your well-being than my match."
"Thank you."
"Speaking of your well-being, are you going to be up to going out with everyone tonight? We don't have to if you don't think so."
"I'll be fine. I don't think I'm gonna drink though."
Chelle gives me a slight concerned look, which Randy doesn't seem to notice. "I'll not drink with you. I haven't drank in a while anyway."
"Thank you."
"I probably won't drink much anyway. I won't be getting drunk on you or anything like that." Randy comments.
"I appreciate it, babe."
Randy kissed my forehead. "I just want to enjoy my time with you. I don't need alcohol for that."
"Well, I would hope not."
"I adore you with everything in my heart."
"I know. I feel the same way about you."
"Is that your brother?" Ryse asks.
I look at the TV. Three men, one being Colby, attacked Ryback.
"Uh…yeah." I reply. "That's definitely Colby."
"Who are the other two?" Eve asks.
"Uh…I think that's Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose…from NXT."
"Are they debuting?" Chelle asks.
"Looks like it." Randy replies as his eyes are glued to the TV.
"This must've been why I wasn't told about anything." I comment as the three men hit a Triple Powerbomb on Ryback.
Punk pins John.
1…2…3!
"Here is your winner and STILL the WWE Champion, CM Punk!"
"I'm so confused." Randy comments.
"Me too." Eve says with a laugh.
"It's my brother, and I'm totally lost." I mutter.
Chelle smiles as she gets up. "I'm going to go see John. See you later when we all go out."
"Bye." Everyone else says.
Chelle leaves. Randy pulled me even closer to him. He seemed to be extra attached to me today, but I didn't say anything. I didn't mind him being so attached to me.
Eve gets up, and Ryse follows suit.
"We're gonna head out too." Eve tells us.
"See you later." Ryse adds.
"Bye." Randy and I both say as they leave.
Randy looked at me. "Now I've got you all to myself. Just how I like it."
"Territorial much?" I ask with a raised eyebrow.
Randy laughs. "I just love alone time, and I love you."
I looked at him with a smile. "I love you too."
Man, I needed to take that pregnancy test.
Ryse, Ted, Eve, Cody, Chelle, John, Randy, and I sat down at the table at the bar where we all were hanging out. I had already been having a hard time staying awake, despite the fact we hadn't been there that long.
Randy wrapped an arm around me. "Anyway, Rissa was always trying to get under my skin when we were kids. Hell, she does it now. She's lucky she's beautiful."
"I'm pretty sure it's the other way around." I comment while glancing at him.
Randy gives me a questioning look. "No, I'm right. You were always my friend's annoying little sister."
"Apparently I was your friend's annoying little sister that was hot."
"Was? You still are."
I blush. "Thank you."
"Gross." Ted comments. "There's Tyler, Kenny, and Lauren."
I tense up. Randy, sensing that I had become tense, rubbed my shoulders.
"Hey," Tyler says as he, Kenny, and Lauren sit down. "What's going on?"
"Randy is talking about Marissa always being your hot, annoying little sister." Ted answers.
Tyler looks at me and Randy. "Dude, that's my sister. Disgusting."
Randy rolls his eyes. "My wife, which is your annoying little sister, is smoking hot, and we sleep together all the time. Is that better?"
Kenny makes a gagging noise. "That's my cousin. Ew. Where's Colby to get you to knock this off?"
"Beats me. Y'all are so sensitive in this family."
"Could you stop calling me annoying?" I ask quietly.
Randy kissed my cheek. "Okay."
"Speaking of sensitive." Tyler mutters.
"I can hear you." I comment as Randy grabs my hand to keep me remotely calm.
"Okay, the whole table can hear you being whiny." Tyler responds as Colby walks in with Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose. "And look who's fashionably late and bringing along uninvited guests."
I roll my eyes and get up to approach Colby, Dean, and Roman, who were still by the entrance, without saying a word.
Colby hugs me. "Hey, how's it going?"
"Well, it was all good until our dear brother showed up." I answer with a small snort.
"What now?"
"Apparently I'm whiny and sensitive. He's also complaining about you being late and bringing along uninvited guests, which nobody else has an issue with."
"Oh geez. Maybe I shouldn't have invited him."
"I won't complain if you don't next time. By the way, Lauren hasn't said a word yet."
"Wow, and he says we don't try."
"You got told that too?"
"Yeah. Anyway, this is…"
"Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose." I say before shaking both men's hands. "I watch NXT. I'm Marissa Orton. Nice to finally get the opportunity to meet both of you."
Roman smiles. "Glad to meet you."
Dean nods. "What's up?"
I smile. "Sorry about giving you an earful about family drama. Let me show you three our table. We'll have to grab a couple more chairs, but we'll take care of that. Come sit."
The three follow me to the table.
"And here we are. Let me grab a couple more chairs." I say before going to grab a couple more chairs.
Tyler follows me. "Got a second?"
"Sure."
"What are you being so hostile towards Lauren for?"
"I'm not being hostile towards Lauren. Why do you think that I'm being hostile towards her?"
"You're not talking to her tonight. You didn't talk to her much at my birthday, and Colby isn't much better. Maybe I ought to bring him over here. You're being hostile. He's being disrespectful by being late and bringing uninvited guests."
"He wasn't very late, and you're the only one who has an issue with Colby bringing Roman and Dean. As for the thing with Lauren, I've been talking and relatively involved in the conversation at the table. She hasn't said a word the whole time. Maybe I'm not the problem here. Of course you wouldn't say that because you've always tended to blame me for issues. I don't know what's crawled up your ass, but you're being a total jackass. I have bigger things to worry about right now. If this is how you're going to be, don't talk to me. You're lucky Colby even invited you." I harshly walk away from Tyler to bring a chair to the table.
"Thanks." Roman sits down in the chair I brought. "You didn't have to do that for us."
I smile as I once again take my seat next to Randy. "You're my brother's friends. It's all good. Congratulations on the debut by the way, you three."
"Thanks." Colby, Roman, and Dean say as Tyler rejoins the table.
Randy kissed my neck. "How much am I allowed to drink?"
"As much as you want, I'd just prefer that you'd not get stupid drunk."
"I wasn't planning on it. Come to the bar with me."
"I told you I'm not drinking."
"I know. I'm giving you an excuse to not be close to Tyler at the moment."
"Let me walk with you to the bar."
Randy grabbed my hand and took me with him to the bar. "One rum and coke please. Anyway, Rissa, what'd Tyler say to you?"
I roll my eyes. "He gave me crap about not talking to Lauren again and was bitching about Colby being late and bringing Roman and Dean. I called him a jackass and told him that I wasn't dealing with this."
"Lauren hasn't even talked at all tonight."
"No shit."
"We can go back to the hotel if you want."
"I want to stay, Randy. It's fine."
"Okay, Rissa."
I feel a wave of nausea hit me. "I'll be in the bathroom."
"Oh, alright."
I walk into the bathroom and throw up in the trash can right by the door.
Chelle walks in and helps pull my hair back. "I've got you."
I finish throwing up. "Thanks, how'd you know I was in here?"
"Randy was concerned and said something to me. I came straight here."
"Oh. Thanks. I can't stand being out there."
"Randy said that he offered to head back to the hotel."
"I don't want to cut his night short."
"But if you aren't feeling good…"
"I'll be fine." I take in a deep breath. "I'm going to take the pregnancy test."
"I thought you were waiting until after we left here."
"It's driving me crazy. I'm so stressed out about it. I'm anxious about all of this. I need to do it now."
Chelle nodded. "I hear you. Do you want me to stay in here with you?"
"Please. Let me go do this." I walk into a bathroom stall.
I exit the bathroom stall and wash my hands. "Now we wait."
Chelle smiles at me. "How are you feeling?"
"Anxious."
The door opens, and Ryse and Eve look at the pregnancy test that was sitting nearby.
"Did you two need to use the bathroom too?" Chelle asks.
Ryse rolls her eyes. "No, it's testosterone city out there with a dash of bitchy girlfriend."
"Are you talking about Lauren?" I ask.
Eve nods. "Yeah, she opened her mouth and made a comment about you coming in here to avoid talking to her at all. Randy jumped her ass for it. I think Tyler is pissed off at Randy now, and Tyler and Lauren are probably on their way out now."
"Oh. Randy didn't have to do that."
"I'm pretty certain he was set on defending you when you aren't there to do it yourself."
"Probably. I love him so much."
"So…uh, whose pregnancy test?" Ryse asks awkwardly.
Chelle and I exchange a glance between us.
I sigh. "It's mine. We're waiting on the results. Don't say anything to anyone. I haven't even said anything to Randy yet."
"Oh," Eve says. "Are you going to tell him?"
"If it's positive, I don't want to give him false hope of a pregnancy if he still wants that. We had agreed that we weren't going to try for now."
"So you'll tell him if it's positive?"
"Yeah, but not until we get back to the hotel. I don't want to potentially cause him to freak out while we're still here."
Chelle looks at me. "I think it should be ready to be checked soon."
"Alright, if it's positive, it stays between us four for now. Randy will be the next person to know if it is positive."
"Okay." Ryse says as Eve and Chelle nod. "How is it going to affect work if it is positive?"
I shrug. "I guess I won't be competing or managing Randy for a long time then. If I am pregnant, I don't want a lot of people at work knowing yet either."
Chelle looks at me. "It should be ready now. Do you want me to look?"
I shake my head. "No, it's my pregnancy test. I'll look."
I walk over and grab the pregnancy test.
"What does it say?" Eve asks.
I take in a deep breath as I look at the results. "It's positive. I'm pregnant."
And that's the end of this story. I am planning on having the sequel to this called, Determining the Future. However, I will be spending some time working on other stories that I have started before starting this new one. Thanks to everyone who has read this story!
