THE END WAR – NARUTO VS JONAS

The Imperial Palace

Jonas wasn't always this strong, he has fought people on his own level plenty of times before. Naruto may have mastered his divine oddity to an even greater level than the emperor, but he isn't worried. Jonas is still a class 10 warrior and is getting stronger every second, Naruto is a class 9 warrior. Instead he tries to enjoy what he has found after so many years. He has found a warrior who can stand out within his own level just as much as he can, perhaps even more. Jonas has finally found someone with skill to rival his own.

Naruto activates his One-Hundred Percent Detonation technique and launches towards Jonas. Jonas dodges to the side of Naruto's initial approach bringing golden 'destruction' energy to his hand and forming it into a blade. He slams the blade down towards Naruto's back. Naruto quickly spins and kicks Jonas's wrist knocking the blade away. Naruto throws two quick punches towards Jonas's chest; they are each pushed aside. Naruto jumps up and kicks twice, Jonas intercepts each of the kicks but still steps backwards. Moving into the space Jonas just vacated Naruto punches towards Jonas again. Jonas pushes the punch past him, returning his own and hitting Naruto's head. The emperor throws a dummy punch towards Naruto, deliberately missing before pulling his elbow into the back of Naruto's head. As Naruto moves forward Jonas powerfully raises his knee to strike the Hokage's head.

Many of Naruto's teachers watch on. Although he has learned lessons from many people, Kakashi, Nina, and Enri have taught Naruto the most of all here. Of them only Enri has seen Jonas fight someone on his own level before. She finally remembers those fights, until now it seemed they were just a dream. She wishes that his skills were still a distant dream instead of a present nightmare. Jonas hasn't fought seriously in years because he has not needed to, but in a fight like this he is just as talented as Naruto.

Naruto perceives three incoming attacks with the One True Sense before ducking low beneath the third. He forms a kunai from his golden 'life-fate' energy before throwing it towards the underside of Jonas's chin. Jonas narrowly dodges this kunai by moving backwards. While leaning back Jonas kicks Naruto, catching him in the midsection, throwing him up into the air. Using Shukaku's power mid-ascent Naruto uses a 'sand' platform to halt his momentum, he then uses that platform to launch himself back down towards Jonas at speed. Naruto intends to land behind Jonas and attack him. The landing is perfect, but he didn't perfectly mask his intentions. Jonas knows just as many sensory techniques as Naruto, he sees through this and shifts his weight to avoid the attack. Having moved aside Jonas strikes towards Naruto. Naruto catches the attack and returns one of his own which Jonas catches. But Naruto withdraws his arm before surrounding it in 'might' energy and attacking once again, overpowering Jonas and knocking him back.

As Jonas sails back through the air he finds himself beginning to smile. He considered Nadia a rival to his intellectual prowess, but he has always had rivals in that aspect. Now he has finally found someone who rivals his battle skills.

Naruto moves after Jonas, the ground shaking with every powerful step he takes. Still flying backwards, Jonas raises his hand and 'creates' a series of explosives. The emperor throws the explosives forward between himself and Naruto. The 7th Hokage pinpoints each of the explosives simultaneously using his divided mind and the One True Sense, he then uses 'wind' energy to push the threatening explosives just far enough away to avoid harm. He rushes through the smoke from the detonations towards Jonas.

Jonas 'creates' lava and throws it towards Naruto, quickly surrounding him with a dome of it and slowly collapsing it towards him. Naruto uses concentrated 'water' energy to solidify part of the lava before using 'might' energy to smash through it and escape the dome. Jonas jumps at him immediately before throwing a powerful strike towards him. Naruto dodges the attack and brings 'fire' energy to his hand, he throws that 'fire' energy towards Jonas. Jonas 'creates' ice to block the fire, runs around the ice and kicks Naruto backwards, returning the favour for what the Hokage did before.

Naruto lands on his feet and stops his backward motion before Jonas catches up with him. He surrounds himself with 'steam' energy, disguising his position slightly. Jonas smiles, knowing that with his senses he will still be able to locate Naruto easily, but it is not that simple. Naruto has hidden himself among several clones. Jonas creates a small orb of golden 'destruction' energy on his finger and throws it into the 'steam', hitting all the Narutos he can with it until one is able to block. He has found the real Naruto. Leaping into the 'steam' Jonas is suddenly the victim of an explosion, he sees what was right in front of him only too late, Naruto has hidden exploding 'bubbles' in the 'steam'.

Naruto leaps out of the 'steam' in pursuit of Jonas. He uses Gyuki's 'ink' energy, throwing it towards Jonas's eyes in an attempt to blind him. Jonas uses Nano-Control with his golden 'destruction' energy to destroy the ink. The emperor steps towards Naruto, 'creating' a pair of diamond restraints and placing them on Naruto's wrists. He immediately kicks Naruto forwards, sending the 7th Hokage flipping frontwards. When Naruto turns he recognises that Jonas is 'creating' another of this golden 'destruction' coated diamond arrows. Jonas throws the arrow towards Naruto. Naruto uses 'might' energy to break free of his restraints and catch the arrow, quickly taking control of it before removing it from the fight.

The two warriors converge once again, each with the same idea, punch as hard as they can. Jonas 'creates' a layer of diamond on his hand and surrounds it with vibrating Nano-Controlled golden 'destruction' energy. Naruto continues to use his One-Hundred Percent Detonation, propels himself with 'wind' energy and enhances his fist with 'might' energy. The collision between the two of them sends out a shockwave that Hinata can feel pressuring the shield. Naruto pushes forward with all of his detonating energy and to Jonas's great surprise the 7th Hokage starts pushing him back. In terms of raw strength the Pocket Emperor is even stronger than he is.

Jonas moves his hand and attempts to trick Naruto into moving uncontrollably past him, but Naruto sees through this, kicking Jonas down to the ground. Naruto stamps towards Jonas several times but the emperor rolls out of the way of each attack. While Jonas is rolling along the ground he makes a golden 'destruction' orb and throws it towards Naruto. Naruto dodges the orb but afterwards is kicked up into the air by Jonas. He then creates a 'sand' platform once again to kick off from and propel himself downward. As he is kicking off the platform Naruto reaches back inside his Hokage robe and pulls out the arrow that Jonas threw at him before.

Jonas is amazed. He spent much of his life in the presence of a man with a remarkable recovery rate. But Naruto must have been in contact with that lingering golden 'destruction' energy from the moment he caught the arrow. To recover fast enough to fight under those conditions is almost unthinkable.

Naruto kicks the 'sand' platform from underneath, diving towards Jonas at speed. He enhances his arm with 'might' energy and throws the arrow from before towards Jonas as hard as he can. He then pushes the arrow even harder by propelling it with 'wind' energy.

Jonas maximises his defence. He 'creates' a multi-layered diamond shield, even larger than the one he used against Akashi and enhances each layer with golden 'destruction' energy. He continuously reinforces the shield with more diamond, knowing how powerful that arrow will be after being thrown by Naruto. When the arrow starts to break through layers of his shield he becomes afraid. He believes for the first time that he will be defeated, that there is no way out of the situation. Naruto's attacks breaks through the layers one-by-one, still backed by plenty of power as it reaches the last one.

The members of the rebellion and Imperial Guard watch on in astonishment as the emperor is pushed into a corner. He is forced to block the arrow with his hands. He is in agony every second and it seems that there is nothing he can do. Is this the moment they have been waiting for? Is this the moment they have dedicated their lives to?

No.

It is not!

All the energy that was being concentrated on the arrow disappears as it is destroyed. Naruto lands on the ground and looks at Jonas who is still on his back. The emperor is laughing like a maniac, that is not a good sign. He steps slightly closer to inspect Jonas's wounds more closely, they have all been completely repaired. He doesn't understand how that is possible, a second ago he used several powers at once to hit Jonas as hard as he could, Jonas was unable to resist. Now he is fine, now he has resisted the attack.

Jonas gets to his feet.

"Thank you Uzumaki, while it lasted that was the most fun I have had in years! For what it is worth, you were the greatest rival I've ever had."

Sarada understands and hangs her head in anguish. Jade green energy surrounds Jonas. It is jade green accompanied by golden particles. Jonas has fully deciphered all that was written on Sarada's tablet. He has understood tier 3 'creation' energy and has successfully balanced his two double-transcendent elements. With this perfect combination he has become even stronger as a warrior, reaching a realm that everyone else considered impossible.

Jonas has reached class 11.

Naruto approaches Jonas and uses a 'might' enhanced strike against him. Jonas holds his hand out and concentrates to create a golden 'destruction-creation' block between himself and Naruto. Naruto strikes the block, expecting it to be stronger than before, but he has underestimates Jonas's new powers. Naruto strikes the block and hurts his fist, not even shaking Jonas's defence. He could feel the vibration of the block for a moment, the compactness of the structure, the strength of it. It's not just stronger than before, it's in a completely different realm.

Jonas has also advanced the powers of his divine oddity.

Jonas is now using Pico-Control.

Naruto leaps backwards, putting distance between himself and Jonas, or so he thinks. As Naruto leaps backwards Jonas disappears from the spot where he was stood and appears behind Naruto. The Pocket-Emperor's back hits his opponent and his eyes widen. It is said that the increase in power between each battle class is greater than the last. It seems to be true. Jonas is now incomparably strong, so strong that not even One-Hundred Percent Detonation can keep up with him. All there is left to hope for is a lucky attack.

Naruto steps back away from Jonas and holds his hand out. He begins to gather the energy for a Rasengan. Next he begins to pool 'life' energy from the surroundings. This is the last thing he can do, if this doesn't work he is out of tricks. The Life-Gathering Rasengan grows more powerful than any Rasengan he has ever held before; he can feel all of his years of fighting in this one technique. This is everything he worked for. He divides his mind as many times as he can, recalling every piece of advice he was given. He thinks back to everything he learned as a shinobi, everything he learnt fighting Clyde, everything he learnt in this world. With this many mind divisions he can concentrate on them all at once. There is no room here for anything less than perfection.

Jonas holds his arms out wide, inviting Naruto to attack him.

Naruto drives the Life-Gathering Rasengan into Jonas's chest. The emperor quickly realises that his arrogance was a mistake, but his arrogance is not costly. When Jonas feels the power of the technique he quickly places his hand over Naruto's and uses Pico-Controlled golden 'destruction-creation' energy to destroy the Rasengan. That is all it takes to destroy Naruto's most powerful attack, the greatest weapon in his arsenal.

The Leader of the Rebellion has been defeated.

Jonas walks past a shellshocked Naruto and towards the enormous energy shield that Hinata has created. He stands right in front of her and looks at her with what seems like pity. Now it is only a matter of time before he breaks through the shield, uses his device, and becomes all-powerful in Homeworld.

"If you drop the shield I might think about sparing you," Jonas offers.

"As if I would believe that."

"I'm about to obtain the powers of a god. You are not a threat to me anymore Endou Hinata. From this point everything that happens to you and your people is my choice, there is nothing you can do to prevent that. You have two choices, you could obey and pray for god's mercy, or you could disobey knowing that you will face his wrath."

"I am not letting you past!"

Jonas laughs, "Do you really think there is still hope for you. Watch this."

Jonas creates a golden 'destruction-creation' orb in his hand. It is tiny but it is more powerful than any attack Hinata has ever seen. She watches helplessly from the other side of her own shield as Jonas turns to face Naruto once again. Knowing that this is the end, Naruto decides to face it valiantly and also turns to face Jonas. Jonas casually throws the orb at Naruto's head. Naruto feels tremendous energy rushing to him. Hinata is forced to watch as Naruto's lifeless body falls to the ground.

Hinata's heart sinks.

Clyde is forced to face the ending he feared most. 'Naruto is dead…'

"You have too many people you care about Hinata, that is your weakness," Jonas says. "Tell me, would you like to see that happen to each of them? If not it is time to bet on my mercy and drop the shield."

"… I am never going to drop this shield in front of you."

"Don't say you weren't given the choice."

Jonas concentrates all his energy on his hand and punches the shield. Everyone providing energy for the shield feels great strain. Now they can feel that they are pitting their energy against the emperor's. If the shield were one-hundred percent efficient it would be easier, but nobody is capable of that. The only advantage they have against the emperor is their numbers, and if the strain of resisting his attack is anything to go by they won't keep him at bay for long. They feel pain as a united army, they feel agony, they feel loss, they feel defeat. Now all that is left is to fight back out of spite. That is what they do.

Safura did send for help from what remains of the Imperial Guard before, but even if they return now it wouldn't matter. There is no way for them to stand up against a class 11 warrior, especially not one with Jonas's skill.

Everyone looks to the side when they feel a great energy added to the strength of the shield. It is Swen. He has placed a hand on the shoulder of his son Ming Dai. For the first time they are fighting on the same side. It may be too late in the day, but it is at least the memory of Jingyi is finally being honoured. Against a class 11 with an imperfect means of fighting back the addition of a single class 9 warrior's energy means little, but it is better than nothing. They have also failed to consider that when Swen acts he has never been alone.

Nadia places her hand on Swen's shoulder, adding her energy to the circuit as well. Before she thought that it was hopeless to keep resisting against Jonas, but now she has seen how amazing Naruto became in the moments before his death. She has seen the will with which everyone keeps fighting back against the foretold god. She knows that struggling like this is pointless, but that is also the reason she admires it.

The third surviving royal also adds her energy to the shield. Petra squeezes Ashen's shoulder tightly before adding her energy to the circuit. The grudge between them is certainly not gone, but Petra now has a much bigger grudge. There is only one reason her teacher wouldn't have told her about his plan to control all reality. He has no plans to keep her in that reality. He has been using her powers for most of her life and she won't let him do that anymore. The Puppet Queen joins the Thinking Queen and the Lazy King in resisting their former leader.

But all this resistance is not enough, Jonas is still slowly overcoming the power of the shield.

'You did more than anyone ever could,' Hinata says in her mind. 'I remember when we first met, I didn't want anything to do with you. I met our daughter, but it still didn't feel right to me, I wasn't comfortable with you. I soon accepted that I couldn't keep the pocket-worlders out of the war, but I didn't think you would be so important going forward. Your pocket-world became the most important place in all reality. Everyone did such amazing things, all those Hokage and Shadow Hokage, but none so amazing as you.

'I know it was always difficult between us Naruto, but my feelings for you started before my souls started merging. As the empress I didn't want to be involved with you, but as Endou Hinata I cherished all those moments we spent together. They were the best. Then when my memories from both worlds merged together I understood that each of my souls felt the same way about you. All that naïve optimism, all the times you chose to help people when it was easier to ignore them, that is what makes you amazing. That's why I fell in love with you.

'Nobody has any right to ask anything of you after all that you have done for the rebellion. I won't ask you to fight for us again, but I know we are at the end now. I know that we have lost. As Endou-Hyuuga Hinata I want to spend these last moments with you. That's why I'm begging you Naruto, I'm begging you, please wake up. Please be here at the end with me. Please… live!'

He gasps!

He breathes!

Naruto lives!

Jonas stops and turns to look at Naruto.

The 7th Hokage is still gasping air back into his lungs having blacked out for a long time. Jonas doesn't understand it, how could Naruto still be alive? He knows that he didn't put everything into that last attack but it should definitely have been enough to kill Naruto. What could have possibly gone wrong? Clearly even Naruto's amazing recovery powers took a while to bring him back, but that should be impossible. This is completely beyond the emperor's understanding. He stops attacking the shield and walks towards Naruto to inspect him.

Naruto raises his hand to his head and the reason for his survival is revealed.

There is a dent in his head protector.

Naruto removes the head protector for a moment, inspecting the dent himself.

Clyde is shocked. That is the head protector he gave Naruto.

"This has been around Homeworld many times since war was declared. One of the people who fought alongside a shinobi thought it would be right to give you something like this, a symbol of what you mean to the rebellion. Naruto, this is a gift from everyone in the rebellion to you."

The energy that Naruto felt rushing towards him from before was not the energy from Jonas's attack. It was the energy from this protector, a final defence mechanism. Energy from the rebellion all over Homeworld has slowly accumulated as this Head Protector has passed from person to person. That energy saved Naruto.

"It really happened," Naruto says. "Everyone else saved me, just like the twins said."

Jonas starts, Naruto has his own prophecy too.

"And lastly the pocket-worlder, Uzumaki Naruto, whose greatest moment will come not when he saves everyone else, but when everyone else saves him."

Naruto realises so much in this moment.

"This was meant to happen. It is exactly what the Seer Twins said would happen. It wasn't a prediction; it was a prophecy. When I first fought against Colonel Peterson I needed help from Hashirama and Tobirama. When I fought Clyde the others protected me. Everyone else held back Lara. We worked together to defeat Carmen. I was taught and protected by Sora, by Nina, by Enri. I reunited with Hinata; we united the rebellion together. This was always about those bonds I formed.

"That is the difference between us, how we see other people. You see the problems with them, you see that they aren't perfect and you want to control everything. You want to erase reality and rebuild it exactly as you want it, your perfect reality, but I could never do that. We are completely opposite.

"I have met so many people in this world, none of them were perfect, but they were all precious. I've fought with people who wanted to kill me, people who couldn't control themselves, killers, bandits, traitors, rebels, cowards, royals. I've fought with all these different people. None of them are perfect, but that is exactly what is so great about them. In a world like yours you could do everything by yourself, I could never live like that. Every moment I spent with these imperfect people has been precious, I wouldn't trade it for anything.

"Meeting the other Hokage was amazing. Becoming allies with Clyde and Lara was fun. Helping Hannah was an honour. Fighting Carmen, being taught by Nina, Juan, Sora, and Enri, I wouldn't trade that for the world. Because we all oppose you these completely different people have worked together. Every last one of them has taught me something, all of them have given me sacred memories that I will hold onto for the rest of my life.

"You would eliminate all those memories, you would destroy all those people, never, that is unforgiveable. All of those imperfect people believed in me. All of those people saved me. All those people have worked so hard to get me to this point…"

Naruto's energy returns to him and he activates his One-Hundred Percent Detonation.

"I owe it to them to defeat you here!"

Answer: Yes.

Question: Does Naruto have the power to fight a class 10 warrior?
Answer: As this chapter hopefully shows he would have defeated a class 10 warrior.

Question: Could Sarada bring back her mother?
Answer: In theory, but I believe it's generally considered bad practice. Otherwise everyone would want their loved ones back and that would cause problems.

Question: Is the prophecy fulfilled?
Answer: It is now. I hope you enjoyed the chapter.

Question: How can Naruto detonate 100% of his core and survive?
Answer: He heals himself and detonates simultaneously, but he can't heal himself as one entity. He effectively needs to heal every part of his body independently. It is like the 8 gates, Naruto is using the maximum possible divine energy a class 9 could use.

Question: Does Naruto use up 'life' energy more quickly this way?
Answer: Detonating your core calls upon energy reserves you couldn't otherwise access. Naruto is healing himself with a small amount of energy and in exchange receives a lot of energy. It's a big multiplier basically.
