Dawn (Medieval Fantasy AU)
It wasn't very often that Dame Koriand'r (or Dame 'Starfire') missed a sunrise, the beautiful colours lightening up the sky and chasing away the cobwebs of lingering darkness.
She loved the first smell of dawn and she did not appreciate Robin swearing loudly as he tripped over a lose piece of equipment (left out by one of the King's Own, no doubt). Trying to ignore the other teen, she continued to watch the sun part through the sky, bringing with it the chirping of birdsong.
"Can no one pick up after themselves?" Robin uttered darkly behind her.
Sighing, she turned away from the beautiful spectacle happening in the sky above and to her teammate.
"Apparently not, friend Robin. What are you awake to early? Are you not to 'sleep in'?" She inquired, wondering if this is what Raven felt like when Beast Boy interrupted her morning ritual.
"I wish. No, we've been summoned. All of us," he scowled at the sky, hating how it was making his head ring.
"Very well," she sighed back. A summons for 'all of them' was never a good thing. "Shall we ready ourselves then?"
"We shall."
