Episode 367: Strategy with a Smile!
Where we last left off, Sora and Kairi has captured a wild Glaceon and Snover wondering around and then met a trainer with starter Pokémon that came from the Unova and Kalos region. And they also met the two Digimon, Gotsumon and Pumpkinmon. The couple went back to their friends to tell them that they were told that the two Digimon saw a mysterious Pokémon in Lake Valor. It had to have been Azelf as Lucas, Dawn, and Barry saw Mesprit in Lake Verity and learned about Uxie from Lake Acurity in Snowpoint City. As for the Wallace Cup, the battles raged on until only Kiawe, May, Dawn, are left to battle. It was Kiawe against Dawn and Zoey against May.And now, we come down to the final round of the Wallace Cup. Kiawe and Dawn got set for their battle. Dawn was determined to finish what she and Kiawe had started.
"And now, we're all set for the first battle in the semi-finals! On my left is Kiawe! On my left is Dawn! Which one of these two Coordinators will be moving on in the final round of the prestigious Wallace Cup? Let's find out right now! And here goes the clock!" Marian announced as the clock starts running. Kiawe took out a Pokéball in a Ball Capsule with an Orange Fire Seal.
"Go! Turtonator!" Kiawe called out as Turtonator came on out to battle. Dawn took out a Pokéball with a Foamy Seal.
"Piplup! Spotlight!" Dawn called out as her Piplup came out in a flurry of bubbles. "Piplup! Use Peck now!" Piplup comes at the blast turtle Pokémon with his beak out.
"Shell Trap!" Kiawe ordered. Turtonator turned and Piplup made the mistake of striking the spikes on Turtonator's shell. An explosion occurs. Piplup goes flying backwards. Dawn loses some points in the process.
"Piplup sure walked into that one! Shell Trap is very effective when making contact with Turtonator's shell spikes!" Marian announced.
"Using Shell Trap on the word-go is a good a sneaky way when making a physical move!" Sora said.
"Dragon Tail!" Kiawe ordered. Turtonator came at Piplup with Dragon Tail.
"Dodge and use Bubble Beam!" Dawn ordered. Piplup avoid's Turtonator's tail and fired Bubble Beam at the blast turtle Pokémon. Kiawe had lost some points.
"Piplup's speed is paying off when against Turtonator's size and slowness!" Marian announced.
"Turtonator! Use Flamethrower!" Kiawe ordered. Turtonator fires Flamethrower right at Piplup.
"Jump in the water!" Dawn called out as Piplup jumped into the water to avoid Turtonator's Flamethrower. Kiawe had lost some points when Piplup had dodged.
"Flamethrower has missed its mark! Piplup is in the water and Turtonator isn't the kind that likes to go swimming in the water!" Marian announced.
"Use Whirlpool!" Dawn ordered. The water began to move and it was getting more and more out of control.
"Piplup is using Whirlpool under the water! And it looks like Turtonator is going to fall right in!" Marian announced. Turtonator began to lose his balance and fell right in the water. The clock was down to two and a half minutes left.
"Looks like Turtonator is going in for a whirl! Literally!" Ventus said.
"Wow, Dawn is getting better every time she goes at it!" Aqua said. Turtonator goes right up in the water as Piplup floats right up. Kiawe was losing more points in the process.
"Now, use Bubble Beam!" Dawn ordered. Piplup fires Bubble Beam and Turtonator got struck by the bubbles and lands on the platform. Turtonator was injured, but still willing to keep on going.
"Turtonator's fire isn't easy to put out, just like Kiawe's!" Marian announced.
"Shell Smash!" Kiawe ordered. Turtonator becomes outlined in a white glow while the spikes on his back also glow white. A faint red glow surrounds it and disappears in a burst. Lines of a blue aura shoot down his body and an orange aura shoot up his body, lowering its defenses and increasing his Attack and Speed. "Now use Flamethrower!" Turtonator fired Flamethrower right at Piplup.
"Bubble Beam!" Dawn ordered. Piplup fired Bubble Beam and blocked Turtonator's Flamethrower attack. Both were losing some more points with a minute remaning.
"Piplup and Turtonator are neck-to-neck in this battle! And it'll be anyone's guess on how this will go!" Marian announced. Piplup and Turtonator kept on firing their attacks. "Less than a minute left and here they go!" Piplup and Turtonator kept on going and going.
"Dawn is doing well. She has proven herself worthy of being Kairi's rival. The same can be said about May, Brendan, and Lucas. They are good rivals for Sora and Kairi," Kiawe said in his thoughts.
"Thirty seconds left!" Marian announced. Piplup and Turtonator kept on going and they were both getting tired. "Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one! And time! And the winner is Dawn!" Both have stopped firing their attacks and smiled.
"Yes! I won!" Dawn cheered.
"If I know Kiawe, I would have say he truly respects Dawn," Illima said.
"He sure does," Lana agreed.
"She made all the way to the final round," Mallow said.
"No doubt, that's a win for Dawn!" May said.
"Yeah! It'll be a big confidence booster for those two!" Zoey said.
"And guess who's up next?" May asked.
"It's you and me, May," Zoey said.
Elsewhere, Marnie and Morpeko are traveling the Sinnoh region as she had battle aganst Roark. The Pokémon she used in the battle is a a small bipedal, lizard-like Pokémon. Its body is mainly yellow in color, with a red scaly belly; below the yellow portion of its head, its body is cream-colored. Its head is large and heavy, and they tend to headbutt. It has large, bulgy ovular eyes with black pupils that are set to the sides of its head. Its white teeth appear to be constantly exposed, giving it a grinning appearance. It has two tiny nostrils above its grinning mouth. There is a small red scale atop its yellow head. The Pokémon has loose, yellow shed skin around its legs, resembling baggy trousers. Some of the loose skin around its legs to trails off to form or cover its tail. Its shed skin "pants" are very elastic and can be pulled up to its neck, which enables it to reduce the damage it takes from attacks. The Pokémon was battling Rampardos and beaten it.
"Rampardos is unable to battle! Scraggy wins! The winner is Marnie from Spikemuth!" The referee announced. Roark calls back his Rampardos and went up to Marnie.
"Congrats, Marnie. The way you handled your Pokémon is outstanding! Just so the world will know about your win, I present you the Coal Badge," Roark said, handing her the Coal Badge. She accepts it.
"Thank you," Marnie said.
"I'm the one who should be thanking you. Thanking you for the battle you gave me. The Galar region must be full of strong Pokémon trainers if you came down here," Roark said. Marnie smiled.
Over in Eterna City, Gardenia is battling against a girl with tanned skin and blonde hair with a hint of pink. She has green eyes and she is wearing a white shirt with a red tie with white thin stripe. She wore a blue headpiece on top of her head. She wore a black miniskirt with black stockings, and brown shoes. She also has green earrings. She has out is a a small reptilian dinosaur-like Pokémon that resembles a young Tyrannosaurus Rex. Its rocky scales are brown, its back is arched, and it has a gray lower jaw and underbelly. Tyrunt has a very large head and a gaping maw with four sharp fangs. Its arms and claws are tiny compared to its size. It has a fringe of white spiny scales around its neck, two orange spikes atop its head, and one orange spike on its tail. It has large and powerful hind legs with three long, sharp claws on each. She was battling Gardenia's Roserade.
"Tyrunt! Fire Fang!" The girl ordered. Tyrunt came at Roserade with Fire Fang and lands a hit. Roserade goes down for the count.
"Roserade is unable to battle! Tyrunt wins! Peonia wins the battle!" Yoko announced.
"Nuzleaf!" Nuzleaf added.
"I am so proud of you, Tyrunt!" Peonia praised as Tyrunt nuzzles her. Gardenia walked up to her challenger.
"Cogratulations on your win, Peonia. You have defiently earned this, the FOrest Badge," Gardenia said, presenting her the Gym Badge. Peonia accepted the Badge with a smile.
"Thank you, Gardenia. I'm so glad I hade this battle with you," Peonia said.
"I'm glad. And I enjoyed it so much. And I have to say, you raised your Tyrunt well," Gardenia said.
"Thanks," Peonia said. Tyrunt beamed along with her.
Over in Veilstone City, a boy is battling Maylene. The boy has a curly head of platinum blond hair and purple eyes that are heavily lashed. He wears a long hot pink and violet coat, a golden wristwatch, a single thumbless glove, white pants that are meshed along the back and pink tabi-style sneakers. His coat has the Macro Cosmos symbol and a pouch stitched on the back. He has out a a small Pokémon with the appearance of a baby. It has a large, rounded purple head, big blue eyes with three visible eyelashes on each, and large pink lips. It has three white bow-like adornments, located on the sides of its head and its neck. The top of its head is black with a rounded upright ovular antenna-like feeler sprouting from the very top. It has a slightly pudgy little black body with stubby arms and legs and a white zigzagging pattern across its belly. It slightly resembles a Smoochum.
"Lucario! Bone Rush!" Maylene ordered. Lucario came at the small Pokémon with a bone, ready to strike at it.
"Gothita! Use Psybeam!" The boy ordered. Gothita fires Psybeam at Lucario. He calls back Gothia and takes out another Pokéball and threw it. "Go! Solosis!" The Pokéball opens and a a small spherical Pokémon that has the appearance of a single cell; it levitates using its psychic powers. Its lime green rounded body (nucleus) is encased by cytoplasm and a translucent green membrane. It has two small black spots for eyes, and it appears to have a red rhombus-like opening for a mouth. It has a curly yellow spring-like appendage on top of its head, connected to its nucleus. "Solosis! Use Psyshock!" Solosis unleashes Psyshock and lands a hit onto Lucario and has earned a knockout.
"Lucario is unable to battle! Solosis wins! The victory goes to Bede!" The referee announced. Maylene calls back Lucario and went up to Bede.
"Well done. I have to say, you're one of the challenging challengers I have ever had. And you have earned the Cobble Badge," Maylene said, handing him the Cobble Badge. Bede accepts it.
"Thank you," Bede said. He takes his leave of the Gym with his latest Badge.
Elsewhere, Paul is battling a trainer with a Golisopod. Paul's opponent is a young man with white hair top with a shaved lower black, dark eyes and black eyebrows. He wears a black jacket with a zigzag pattern on both sides of his jacket, which has the red tape on the back. He also wore a white shirt, some black pants with two white X's under his knees and pair of white shoes. He is also wearing a golden watch, while on his right hand are black and white bracelets. He also wore sunglasses with a golden frame. The Pokémon Paul has out is his Electabuzz.
"Electabuzz! Thunder!" Paul ordered. Electabuzz fires Thunder and Golisopod blocks with its arms. Paul growled when he saw his Golisopod was still standing.
"Poison Jab!" The young man ordered. Golisopod came at Electabuzz and lands a hit onto it. Electabuzz is now poisoned. "Now, use Liquidation!" Golisopod comes at Electabuzz with a broadsword made of water and swipes at Electabuzz.
"Thunder Punch!" Paul ordered.
"Block it!" The young man ordered. Golisopod blocked with its hard shell. "Now, use Pin Missle!" Golisopod fires Pin Missle and it heads right towards Electabuzz.
"Protect!" Paul ordered. Electabuzz forms a protective barrier and it bounces right off. Electabuzz was hurt by the poison. "Brick Break!" Electabuzz came at Golisopod with Brick Break.
"Pin Missle!" The young man ordered. Golisopod fires Pin Missle from within the gap between the armored plates on its back at Electabuzz. The electric Pokémon got struck hard by Pin Missle. "Finish it Poison Jab!" Golisopod comes at Electabuzz with Poison Jab and lands a blow. Paul's Electabuzz had been taken down. "Great work as always, Golisopod." The hard scale Pokémon nodded as he called it back. "We're done here." He took off. Paul was angered by the fact he lost. He gritted his teeth in anger.
"Guzma," Paul snarled. He clutched his fist.
In the Digital World, Myotismon was grinning as he found his anger and frustration amusing.
Back at the Wallace Cup, May and Zoey have gotten set for their battle.
"It is time for the Wallace Cup semi-finals! On this side is Zoey! And on this side is May! We've got five minutes on the clock!" Marian announced. The timer starts running. "We're off!" May and Zoey each took out a Pokéball and threw it. May has hers in a Ball Capsule with a pink Floral Seal.
"Beautifly! Take the stage!" May called out as Beautifly came on out with pink flower petals. Zoey had her Pokéball in a Ball Capsule with a yellow Ele-Seal.
"Glameow! Curtain!" Zoey called out as Glameow came out with yellow sparks.
"Silver Wind!" May ordered. Beautifly sends out Silver Wind and it struck the catty Pokémon.
"And May's off to a rousing start! That Silver Wind, combined with Beautifly's sparkling dust, is showering us with a rainbow of colors!" Marian announced. Zoey has lost some points in the process. She was very impressed.
"Now that was a beautiful move!" Zoey said in awe.
"Look at that. May sure has gotten much stronger since the Hoenn Grand Festival. And Hapu was nothing to sneeze at," Terra said.
"I know. She probably did a lot training with Brendan to perfect her moves," Aqua said.
"She does. May and I have spent loads of time working on those moves," Brendan said.
"Now, jump, Glameow!" Zoey called out. Glameow jumped in the air with its tail like a spring to avoid Beautifly's Silver Wind. The butterfly Pokémon was stunned to see how well the feline Pokémon has avoided Silver WInd.
"And Glameow's powerful tail launches it high into the sky!" Marian annoucned as May had lost some points.
"Beautifly! Use Psychic!" May ordered. Beautifly prepares to use Psychic on Glameow.
"Dodge and use Shadow Claw!" Zoey ordered. Glameow avoids Psychic and heads right towards Beautifly.
"Dodge it, Beautifly!" May called out. Beautifly avoids Glameow's Shadow Claw.
"And Beautifly dodges with grace!" Marian announced. Glameow grinned. Zoey has lost some points in the process.
"Now!" Zoey called out as Glameow lands on the water and makes a splash. Beautifly was surprised by the sudden use of water. Beautifly became completely surrounded by the water.
"That was impressive! Beautifly has been completely surrounded by curtain of water created by Glameow's powerful Shadow Claw!" Marian announced. May had lost some points in the process. Glameow sits tight in the water.
"Shock Wave!" Zoey ordered. Glameow unleashed Shock Wave and it gave Beautifly a shock.
"And that Shock Wave cuts right the curtain of water for a direct hit!" Marian announced. "And a super effect!" May had lost some more points.
"Zoey blocked out May with Water, so Glameow could hit her with an Electric Type attack!" Ventus said.
"Could that have been Zoey's plan right from the start?" Terra asked.
"Wow, I can see why Kairi and Dawn has so much respect for her," Brendan said.
"She's so amazing," Biyomon said.
"Sure is," Palmon said.
Beautifly emerges from the water and is giving off static electricity.
"Beautifly! Are you all right?" May asked. Beautifly quickly shook it off and got back into the game. She said in her thoughts, "Zoey's one tough Coordinator, all right." Glameow came on out from the water.
"Nice, Glameow!" Zoey said. Glameow gave off static electricity.
"Now, folks, just take a good look at Glameow! Wrapped up in the remants that Shock Wave, Glameow looks so beautiful, it's almost frightening!" Marian announced.
"Let's turn it up! Iron Tail!" Zoey ordered. Glameow came at Beautifly with Iron Tail.
"Below you! Silver Wind!" May ordered. Beautifly blew Silver WInd at the water and it caught Zoey and Glameow by surprise as Glameow went through the the water. Beautifly flew right at the catty Pokémon. "Now, use Psychic!" Beautifly uses Psychic on Glameow and it sends Glameow back.
"May's not about to give up! Now she's using the water to counterattack and steal some of Zoey's thunder!" Marian annunced.
"Morning Sun!" May ordered. Beautifly gave off a sunny glow and heals herself. "Wow, that was fantastic!"
"And a fantastic Morning Sun! Gorgeous and healing, all the same time!" Marian announced. Sora and Kairi were proud of May since they could tell how much stronger she has gotten since the Grand Festival.
"Beautifly! Aerial Ace!" May ordered. Beautifly xomes at Glameow with Aerial Ace.
"What a change! Beautifly makes the transition from a beautiful Morning Sun to a speedy Aerial Ace!" Marian announced."That's new," Sora and Kairi said in their thoughts.
"Quick! Shadow Claw!" Zoey ordered. Glameow comesa t Beautifly with SHadow Claw and the two had collided. THe time has run out.
"That's it! Time's up!" Marian announced. Both of May and Zoey looked to see that May's has more points than Zoey. "After some fierce battling, the Coordinator moving on is May!" The crowd starts cheering.
"Yes! Great!" May said. Beautifly flies back to her trainer. "Thanks, Beautifly, awesome job!" Zoey was dismayed to see she has lost, but she smiled. She went to comfrt her partner.
"Don't feel bad, Glameow. Cheer up! Hey, you were wonderful!" Zoey said. Glameow purred, feeling better about losing.
"It was one new and beautiful appeal after the other without any letup!" Contesta said.
"Also, it was remarkable!" Suziko said.
"I'm deeply proud to see how well May has come along since I first saw her in the Rubello Contest!" Lisia said.
"Same! She's come a long way!" Sora said.
"May should be proud of how far she's gotten from the very beginning!" Kairi said.
"Thanks to the two of you for that thrilling performance! And now, it's on to the exciting finals!" Wallace announced. Now it was now down to May and Dawn. Brendan and Lucas looked at each other and they knew their signifigant others were about to go at it.
"Dawn and e in the finals," May said to herself.
"May and me in the finals," Dawn said to herself. Sora and Kairi looked at each other and they both nodded in agreement as they were about to see how well it was going to turn out. May and Dawn were getting set for their battle. Drew and Soledad were watching on the screen as they are about to see May in the final round of the Wallace Cup. Tai, Kari, Matt, TK, Sara, Izzy, Mimi, Joe, Davis, Jun, Ken, Yolei, Cody, Amy, Takato, Henry, Rika, Kazu, Kenta, Jeri, Suzie, Takuya, Koji, Koichi, JP, Zoey, Tommy, and their Pokémon friends were watching on their seperate screens. Raymond was watching in the audience. He was anxious to see who was going to win it. Also, he looked right at Sora with the judges, remembering the challenge he made.
"So! We've been here at Lake Valor for the past three days of never-ending thrill and chills! But now, it's time for what you've all been waiting for: the Wallace Cup stage!" Marian announced.
May and Dawn met up with each other and they both smiled at one another.
"After watching that battle between you and Zoey, I'm feeling a teensy bit queasy. But Piplup and I are so ready to go!" Dawn said.
"I'm ready too. Let's give the audience the best Contest Battle they've ever seen!" May said. "And whoever wins, no hard feelings."
"Right," Dawn agreed. THe two Coordinators entered the battlefield for the final round. Sora, Kairi, and Lisia were waiting for the final round to begin.
"And the two finalists have made their grand entrance! One this side is Dawn! And on this side is May!" Marian announced. Johanna was watching on TV.
"She looks so ready for this! Look out!" Johanna said.
"MAy hails from Petalburg City in the Hoenn region and is currently participating in Contests in the Kingdom of Orre! And she has earned the reputaion as the runner-up for the Hoenn Grand Festival against Kairi!" Marian announced. "Before we begin, let's hear from Kairi about this bout." Kairi stood up.
"I just wanna say that I'm happy to see both of May and Dawn come so far since the Wallace Cup got started! So, I wanted to say that the both of you to give it all you've got!" Kairi said. Wallace stood up as well.
"Well spoken! This will be a treat for all of you contest fans out there! So let's cheer these two talanted Coordinators onto the final round, not forgetting their stunning Pokémon as well! I welcome you to mt stage!" Wallace announced.
"Thanks!" May and Dawn both said.
"The time limit for the Wallace Cup final stage is five minutes! Let's go!" Marian announced as the clock starts running. May and Dawn each took out a Pokéball and threw it. Dawn has hers in a Foamy Seal as May has hers in a a pink Party Seal.
"Piplup! Spotlight!" Dawn called out as Piplup came out in bubbles.
"Glaceon! Stake the stage!" May called out as Glaceon came out in pink confetti.
"Piplup! Bubble Beam!" Dawn ordered Piplup fires Bubble Beam at the fresh snow Pokémon while doing a twirl.
"Dodge it and use Secret Power!" May ordered. Glaceon avoids Bubble Beam and came at Piplup with Secret Power. Glaceon lands a hit onto the penguin Pokémon. Piplup stands up and ends up being paralyzed.
"Piplup, no," Dawn squeaked.
"It looks like that Secret Power has Piplup paralyzed!" Marian announced. Dawn has lost some of her points.
"Just relax, Piplup, and you'll be all right," Dawn said.
"Paralyzed?" Gotsumon asked.
"Depending on the enviroment, Secret Power can be used to paralyze the opponent," Lillie said.
"Secret Power's no secret," Meowth said.
"Ice Shard! Go!" May ordered. Glaceon fires Ice Shard at Piplup as Dawn loses some more points.
"Ice Shard, beautiful! And powerful as well!" Marian announced.
"Quick! In the pool!" Dawn called out. Piplup rolls over to the water. Piplup darts right up in the water.
"And Piplup recovers!" Marian announced.
"And that's how you use a water battlefield!" May praised.
"Okay, Piplup, whirlpool!" Dawn ordered. Piplup forms Whirlpool above himself.
"And it's another powerful Whirlpool! Piplup's water control is incredible! What a great way to show off!" Marian announced. May has lost some points in the process.
"Nice going!" May complimented her opponent. Piplup threw the whirlpool at the Ice Eeveelution. "But I think it's time to grab some of that power! Mirror Coat!" Glaceon gave off a glimmering glow as it reflects Whirlpool back at Piplup.
"Mirror Coat's reflecting back that Whirlpool! Returning the damage Glaceon took!" Marian announced. It heds right towards Piplup. "Time's two!" Piplup got hit by his own Whirlpool. Piplup tumbles back.
"You okay?" Dawn asked with concern. Piplup gets her answer when he stands back up on his feet. "Bubble Beam! NoW!" Piplup fires Bubble Beam right at Glaceon causing some damage.
"And Piplup attacks with a speedy Bubble Beam!" Marian announced as May loses some of her points.
"Shadow Ball!" May ordered. Glaceon forms Shadow Ball right at Piplup.
"Piplup! Spin and dodge!" Dawn called out as Piplup spins around and avoids Shadow Ball.
"Wow, what a beautiful dodge!" May said. But now I'll take that water! Glaceon! Secret Power!" Glaceon came at Piplup with Secret Power.
"Dodge it, quick!" Dawn called out. Glaceon came too fast for Piplup to dodge it.
"Glaceon's so fast, even Piplup can't dodge in time!" Marian annoucned. Dawn lost some points.
"Quick, snap out of it!" Dawn called out. Piplup regains his posture and lands on his feet.
And secret Power misses its mark, as a defiant Piplup takes almost zero damge!" Marian announced.
"And that was becuase the effect of Secret Power is somewhat random," Illima said.
"In a puddle of water,its added effect may be sleep, but otherwise, it's like using Tacke," Zoey said.
"All right, try this! Glaceon! Shadow Ball!" May ordered. Glaceon forms Shadow Ball and fand bats it right at Piplup.
"And Glaceon puts everything into that Shadow Bal! What a dynamic display of power!" Marian announced.
"Bubble Beam! Go!" Dawn called out as Pipplup fires Bubble Beam and cuts through Shadow Ball. It lands a hit onto Glaceon, surrounding it. May gasped in shock.
"And that Shadow Ball's neutralized! Plus, the Bubble Beam's got Glaceon trapped!" Marian announced.
"Piplup! Use Peck!" Dawn ordered. Piplup comes at Glaceon with Peck.
"Dodge it and use Ice Shard!" May ordered. Glaceon avoids Piplup's beak to land a hit. Glaceon fires Ice Shard right at Piplup.
"Whirlpool!" Dawn ordered. Piplup uses Whirlpool as a shield to block Ice Shard. May lost some points from that one.
"Wow! Piplup's using Whirlpool as a perfect defense against that Ice Shard!" Marian announced. "We've got equal points by Coordinators, and with just one minute left on the clock!" Riku, Naminé, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Brendan, Lucas, the Alolan nine, Pikachu, Angel, Eevee, Meowth, Azurill, and the Digimon were all watching the battle closely. The same went to Sora, Kairi, and Lisia.
"Ride that Whirlpool!" Dawn called out. Piplup jumps in the middle of his own Whirlpool.
"And the sight of Piplup fearlessly riding that Whirlpool has left the audience simply breathless!" Marian announced as the audience all cheered.
"Shadow Ball!" May ordered. Glaceon fires Shadow Ball at Piplup.
"Dodge it!" Dawn called out as Piplup jumps out of the way of Shadow Ball, making a splsh. May was shocked to witness it. "Bubble Beam!" Piplup fires Bubble Beam right at Glaceon and lands a series of brutal hits.
"After hiding out in that Whirlpool, Piplp emerges with a power-packed Bubble Beam!" Marian announced. May lost some more points.
"Now, Glaceon! Shadow Ball!" May ordered. Glaceon fires Shadow Ball once again.
"Piplup! Use Peck!" Dawn ordered. Piplup came at Glaceon with Peck. Piplup pecks Shadow Ball and it makes a shadowy curtain.
"Glaceon! Ice Shard!" May ordered. Glaceon fires Ice Shard and it struck Piplup hard.
"And May answers back with a terrific Ice Shard!" Marian annoucned as Dawn has lost some more points.
"Great, May, nice work!" Dawn said.
"Back at you, Dawn!" May said.
"Tiny litle attacks aren't going to work against May. The same can be said about Kairi if she was there instead of her. So in that case," Dawn said in her thoughts.
"There isnt much time left. I know Dawn's coming in with a big attack," May said in her thoughts.
"Let's decide this now! Piplup! Whirlpool! Go!" Dawn ordered. Piplup forms Whirlpool above himself and hurls it at Glaceon.
"Aha! Use Mirror Coat!" May ordered. Glaceon came in with Mirror Coat and held its own against Piplup's Whirlpool. Both Pokémon got hit by the water attack. The time has run out.
"That's it! TIme's up!" Marian announced. Everyone was wat awe for the battle that had happened. "That was a perfect final stage! A tough-as-nails battle! Heated and beautiful as well! You all know winner takes all. So, without further ado, the winning Coordinator is..." The screen shows that Dawn has a little more than May. "Dawn, with her Piplup!" Dawn was awestruck to see that she has won her third ribbon and she only needed two more to enter the Grand Festival. Lucas was proud of his crush for winning the Wallace Cup. Sora, Kairi, and Lisia applauded along the crowd for both of their friends.
"Dawn, May, way to go," Kairi said proudly.
"Congratulations, Dawn," May said.
"And now! It's time for Wallace to say a few words our big winner, Dawn!" Marian announced.
That was wonderful! You displayed elegance out there! A lovely end to a lovely contest. Thank you," Wallace said. "Dawn, you are truly a Coordinator of the highest order! I'm privileged to present you, for your Wallace Cup win, the Aqua Ribbon!" Milotic levitaes it to Dawn. "Please. Take it and enjoy it." Dawn took the Aqua said.
"Thank you, Wallace," Dawn said.
"Way to go, Dawn!" Lucas called out to his crush.
"Your girlfriend sure has some potential," Brendan said. Lucas blushes.
"Dawn isn't my girlfriend, she's just-" Lucas denied before Brendan cut him off with a laugh.
"You two make a good pair. Don't deny it, Lucas," Brendan said.
"Is it that obvious?" Lucas asked.
"Yeah. May and I suspected it when we saw you two hug each other at the resturant," Brendan said. Lucas blushed at the memory.
"Yeah, it is pretty obvious when you think about it," Lucas said.
After the Wallace Cup has concluded, Sora and his friends have gathered around. Brendan, May, Lisia, and the Alolan nine were departing.
"It was good seeing you again," Illima said.
"Back at you, Illima said.
"So now that the Wallace Cup is over, what will you do now?" Agumon asked.
"Well, eight of us has Gyms to go back to. I can imagine some impatient trainers coming around to challenge me into a battle," Kiawe said.
"Also, I still have to head back to Professor Redwood," Lillie said.
"And I still have my duty in Hoenn to fullfill. I'm just sad to say goodbye to you again," Lisia said. Sora grinned.
"A friend of ours once said to us, it's not goodbye. We'll meet again," Sora said, quoting Lucy after she gave him, Kairi, and the Alolan nine the Fairy Tail farewell.
"So, Aqua and I made you these," Kairi said, handing wayfinders to Brendan, May, and Lisia. Lisia smiled since she got one as well.
"A Wayfinder?" May asked in surprise.
"That way, we're never really apart. A symbol of our friendship," Kairi siad. The Hoenn trio smiled as they took theirs. She turned to Dawn as well. "And here, Dawn. You have one too." Kairi handed a Wayfinder to Dawn.
"A Wayfinder for me?" Dawn asked.
"Take it," Kairi said. Dawn accepts it and she smiles. Aqua looked right at Lucas.
"And here's one for you, Lucas," Aqua handed it to Lucas. He looked at his and he smiled.
"Thanks a lot, Aqua. I appreciate it," Lucas said.
"And what about, you two? What are you going to do?" Guilmon asked.
"Well, I still have a challenge to complete, and May still has her Pokémon Contests there. And maybe when we hit the same Pokémon League again, I don't plan on losing to you again," Brendan said.
"Train hard for it," Sora said.
"Count on it, Sora," Brendan said. "And Lucas?" The Sinnoh trinaer looked right at him. "I'll challenge you into a battle the next time we meet. And good luck in your Gym battles Sora and Lucas."
"Thanks," Lucas said. "You too!"
With that said, the Alolan nine headed back to the Alola region after saying their goodbyes to their friends. Lisia, Brendan, May, and Lisia did the same thing. As they were about to depart for Pastoria City, they asked their two new friends.
"You sure you wanna stay behind, guys?" Sora asked.
"I'm sure. We like it here," Pumpkinmon said.
"Besides, we wanna stick aoound just in case some more humans show up to see the lake," Gotsumon added.
"If that's what you want, then we can respect that," Sora said.
"Just be careful out here," Kairi said.
"We will," Gotsumon and Pumpkinmon said.
With that said, the group went off to Pastoria City. Lucas, Dawn, Riku, Naminé, Eevee, Azurill, Guilmon, Renamon, Terriermon, Lopmon, Gaomon, and Lalamon went their own way once again as the rest of the group has continued on their own way to Pastoria City.
"And we're off!" Sora said.
"Wait a minute!" Raymond called out. He caught up with the group. "Have you forgotten something? We still have a battle to do!" Sora chuckled.
"I was waiting for you to come around a little later, but if you want it right now, then I can give you what you want," Sora said.
"Great! Let's find a place to get it started!" Raymond said. Both of Sora and Raymond got set for their battle.
"How do you wanna do it?" Sora asked.
"Let's make it a Double Battle! And I have the perfect ones in mind!" Raymond said, holding out two Pokéballs and he tossed them. "Go! Snivy and Froakie!" The Pokéballs opens and they both came out to battle. Sora took out one Pokéball and threw it. "Go right in, Lucario!" The Pokéball opens and Lucario came on out. He looked right at Pikachu. "You go in too, Pikachu."
"Pikachu!" Pikachu said, going to battle.
"You can make the first move!" Sora called out.
"Snivy! Razor Leaf! Froakie! Water Pulse!" Raymond ordered. Snivy fires Razor Leaf as Froakie threw Water Pulse.
"Lucario! Aura Sphere! Pikachu! Quick Attack!" Sora ordered. Lucario forms Aura Sphere and threw it at Snivy as Pikachu dashed right at Froakie. Aura Sphere cuts through Razor Leaf as Pikachu dodged Water Pulse.
"Froakie! Water Pulse again!" Raymond ordered. The bubble frog Pokémon blocks Aura Sphere. "Snivy! Vine Whip on Pikachu!" Snivy smacks Pikachu with Vine Whip. "Good work, Snivy! Now, use Leaf Blade! Froakie! Use Bounce!" Froakie jumps to land a hit with Bounce.
"Lucario! Bone Rush!" Sora ordered. Lucario jumps at Froakie and smacks the bubble frog Pokémon with the bone. "Pikachu! Iron Tail on Snivy!" Pikachu clashed Snivy's Leaf Blade with Iron Tail. "Thunderbolt!" Pikachu gave the grass snake Pokémon a shock. Snivy fell to the ground, but still willing to go on.
"Snivy! Use Synthesis!" Raymond ordered. Snivy heals itself completely. "Froakie! Bubble Beam!" Froakie fires Bubble Beam at Lucario and got hit. "Snivy! Razor Leaf!" Snivy hurls Razor Leaf and Lucario took some hits.
"Pikachu! Thunderbolt on the both of them!" Sora ordered. Pikachu fires Thunderbolt at the two Pokémon and they landed on their backs. Snivy and Froakie stood back up. Froakie then started to evolve.
"Froakie's evolving!" Terra said.
"No way," Ventus said.
Froakie has transformed into a an amphibious Pokémon that resembles a frog. It has deep blue- and cyan-colored skin. Its eyes are yellow with cyan eyelids, its nostrils are white and slightly protuberant, and it has a flowing scarf-like collar of frothy, white bubbles around its neck. Its underbelly is mainly cyan in color, while its top half is deep blue. Its has long skinny front legs, and powerfully-built back legs. The tips of its feet are deep blue with three round white toes on its front legs and two deep blue toes on its back legs which has grown even stronger.
"What did Froakie just evolve into?" Agumon asked.
"It's a Frogadier," Aqua said.
"Frogadier, huh?" Sora took out his Pokédex and scanned the newly evolved Pokémon.

"Wow, you evolved! I knew that training was going to pay off!" Raymond said.
"Frogadier!" Frogadier said.
"Okay, Frogadier! Use Bounce!" Raymond ordered. Frogadier jumped even higher than before. It then started to come back down and heads right towards Lucario.
"Double Team!" Sora ordered. Lucario made several images of himself and Frogadier misses. "Now use Aura Sphere!" Lucario forms Aura Sphere and hurls it at Frogadier, earning a knockout.
"No way! Frogadier lost even after evolving!" Raymond said. "I still have Snivy! Okay, Snivy! Leaf Blade on Pikachu!" Snivy comes at the mouse Pokémon.
"Pikachu! Thunderbolt! Volt Tackle!" Sora ordered. Pikachu comes at Snivy with Volt Tackle and lands a hit onto Snivy. It woulnd't have done too much damage due to Snivy being a Grass Type Pokémon, but it was enough to bring Snivy down.
"I lost!" Raymond cried. He calls back both of his Frogadier and Snivy. "Get some rest, you guys. You earned it." He went up to Sora. "That was awesome, Sora. Your Pikachu and Lucario are the perfect team for you!"
"Thanks, Raymond. And since we're heading for Pastoria City, how about you hang with us for a while? Just until we both get a Gym battle?" Sora offered.
"Cool! I'd like that. Also, I owe you a rematch! So, don't be surprised when I challenge you to a battle soon," Raymond said.
"Oh, I won't," Sora said.
So, the Wallace Cup has concluded and the road to Pastoria City is closer than ever. And now, they're joined by Raymond and his team of Unova and Kalos region starter Pokémon right up to when they have their Gym battle. This will be very interesting to see!
