Episode 373: Arriving in Style!
Several days have passed since coming back from the Digital World and on Mount Coronet. Sora, Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Angie, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, and the Digimon all had arrived in Hearthrome CIty. As soon as they arrived, they are greeted by a trainer with two reptilian Pokémon. One of them is a small reptilian dinosaur-like Pokémon. It is mainly deep greenish in color, with a light green collar around its neck. It has flat pale green tusks protruding from either side of its mouth. It has large scarlet red eyes and a dark-green pointed horn atop its head. It also has small feet and claws, and a short pointed tail. The other one is a bipedal reptilian Pokémon with dinosaur and draconian traits. Its sturdy, thickset body is composed of green and gray armor-like scales. It has long, sharp gray tusks with red tips protruding from either side of is mouth. Its mouth is beak-like, similar to that of a turtle. Its round eyes are scarlet red and the top of its head is green, tipped with a small spike. It has red claws on both its hands and feet, a long pointed tail with a red tip, and red specks on its gray belly.
"Sora, Ketchum, I presume," the trainer said.
"Yeah," Sora said.
"Good, I thought you'd come here for a Gym battle," the trainer said.
"You got that backwards. I already have a badge from the Gym Leader here, so we're all passing this way to Canalave City," Sora said. He shows the trainer the Relic Badge.
"No kidding. Anyway, I was wondering if you would have a battle against me? And It'll be me against the two of you!" The trainer challenged. Angie stepped in.
"We can take you up on that!" Angie said. Sora and the rest of the group all turned to her.
"And you would be?" The trainer asked.
"The name's Angie and I'm more than game to battle you beside Sora," Angie said. Sora turned to his girlfriend.
"As long as she doesn't make any moves on you, I don't have a problem," Kairi said.
"The Pokémon that I'll be going with is_" Angie took out a Pokéball and threw it. "-Shinx!" Her Shinx came right out to battle.
"And I'm going with Drizzile!" Sora called out as Drizzile came out to battle.
"The ones I'm going with are my Axew and Fraxure!" The trianer said. Axew and Fraxure stood before the two opposing Pokémon. Sora took out his Pokédex and scanned each one of them.
Axew, the Tusk Pokémon
Type: Dragon
Axew uses their tusks to crush the berries they eat. They use their tusks to mark their territory on trees. If they shall break off, the new ones grow back quickly.
Fraxure, the Axe Jaw Pokémon
The evolved form of Axew
Type: Dragon
Their tusks can shatter rocks. Territory battles between Fraxure can be intensely violent. Since a broken tusk will not grow back, they diligently sharpen their tusks on river rocks after they've been fighting.
"Both are Dragon Types. Angie, you gotta remember that Dragon Types are strong against Water and Electric Type moves," Sora said.
"I got this!" Angie said.
Sora and Angie got into position to battle against the trainer against Axew and Fraxure.
"Axew! Use Scratch! Fraxure! Use Slash!" The trainer ordered. Both Pokémon came at the two opposing Pokémon, ready to go.
"Drizzile! Dodge and use Water Pulse!" Sora ordered. Drizzile forms a ball of water and hurls it right at the dragon Pokémon.
"Shinx! Use Spark on Fraxure!" Angie ordered. Shinx charged at Fraxure.
"Dodge and use Dragon Rage!" The trainer ordered. Axew and Fraxure avoids their attacks and fires Dragon Rage at the two Pokémon.
"Shinx! Use Quick Attack on Axew!" Angie ordered. Shinx ran to land a hit on the tusk Pokémon.
"Drizzile! Liquidation on Fraxure!" Sora ordrred. Drizzile went to land a hit onto Fraxure.
"Dragon Rage!" The trainer ordered. Both Axew and Fraxure fired Dragon Rage at the both of them and landed a hit. "Scratch and Slash!" Axew and Fraxure ran to land a scratch attack each on their oppoents. Axew landed a hit onto Drizzile and Fraxure landed a hit onto Shinx. "Now, use Crunch!" Both Pokémon came at their opponents.
"Water Pulse on the both of them!" Sora ordered. Drizzile forms a ball of water and sends it at Axew and Fraxure, confusing the both of them. Angie was amazed by how Sora's Drizzile had saved her Shinx the way he did.
"Thanks, Sora," Angie said.
"No problem. And now to give him something new," Sora said. Angie was wondering what he was talking about. "Drizzile! Grab Shinx!" Drizzile takes hold of Shinx in his arm. "Now, use Surf!" Drizzile forms Surf from underneath and it heads right towards both of Axew and Drizzile. Both Pokémon had been taken out.
"I lost?!" The trainer exclaimed. He calls his two Pokémon back and growled. "I'll remember this!"
Watching the battle, is a young woman with red hair and blue eyes, wearing a light short-skirt dress and white high-heels. With her is a Pokémon that appears to be a brown rabbit with yellowish-gold fluff hanging from its ears along with a tall body. Along with that, yellowish-gold fluff are on its arms covering it along with their bottom part of their legs and their entire feet. It also appear to have red eyes with black white coatings. The young woman was very impressed by the way they battled.
Over to a undisclosed location in Sinnoh, the evil Digimon inside were gathered around as Myotismon was addressing his army.
"You all have done well since the war has begun. We suffered great losses due to the loathsome Resistance, but our new regime shall reign supreme among the human, Pokémon and Digimon of both worlds! The Elite Four and this Cynthia shall fall just as our enemies has before and if they refuse my amnesty, then they shall fall by our might and our fury!" Myotismon declared as the evil Digimon all cheered. Impmon was alone as he has made contact with AxeKnightmon in the Digital World.
"It is done," Impmon reported.
"Excellent. The Resistance is making waste of Myotismon's remaining forces as we speak," AxeKnightmon said. "As for Leomon, Agumon, Guilmon, Agunimon, and their human friends, they have arrived back into the real world." Impmon froze for a moment.
"So, they survived the fight against Machinedramon. You going to make an appearence here soon?" Impmon asked.
"On separate occasions. In the meantime, keep doing what you are doing," AxeKnightmon instructed.
"On it," Impmon said, breaking contact.
Over in the Digital World, AxeKnightmon and Lucemon grinned as they heard the good news.
"It is done. Myotismon has entered the real world. Shall I head there and help put an end to this?" Lucemon asked.
"If you would," AxeKnightmon said. Lucemon grinned.
"I have waited for you to say that," Lucemon said. He vanishes from the Digital World and he arrives in the real world. "Now, it is playtime," Lucemon said. Lilithmon and Barbamon had arrived as well. "Lilithmon, Barbamon, I don't recall requesting your prescence the real world.
"No, but we decided to come along anyway," Lilithmon said. "It should prove to be entertaining."
"Indeed," Barbamon agreed. "With Agumon and his team Digivolving into the Mega level, we cannot afford any chances. And I doubt Myotismon will take risks once he learns Sora and his female companion are alive."
"Of course. He will undoubtedly make a move on her," Lucemon agreed. "This will prove prove enjoyable."
Back at Hearthrome City, they make it back in the Pokémon Center as Sora and Angie had their Pokémon healed up and exchanged Floatzel, Drizzile, and Porygon2 for Monferno, Raboot, and Spiritomb as Kairi exchanged Jolteon, Glaceon, Leafeon, Bibarel, and Glameow for Graveler, Buneary, Clefairy, Sandshrew, and Vulpix. Kairi used two of her Ice Stones to evolve into an Alolan Sandslash and Alolan Ninetales. Kairi used a Moon Stone to evolve Clefairy into a Clefable.
"Okay, shall we head for Jublife CIty tomorrow or head out tonight?" Angie asked.
"We could just stick around just in case Myotismon makes a move. Or maybe AxeKnightmon and Lucemon," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu agreed.
"They're right, because those guys don't mess around. That metal jerk, Machindramon would have turned us into a pile of ashes if that Impmon hadn't blew his little dog whistle to call him," Meowth said.
"So, since we're going to stick around, we could just go have an outing, just me, Sora, Riku, and Naminé," Kairi said, wrapping her arm around Sora's.
"Eevee," Eevee warped her forelegs around Pikachu's left arm.
"What do you have in mind, Kairi?" Sora asked.
"Well, May has given me a guidebook on Sinnoh's resturants, just so Sora and I could have a romantic dinner," Kairi said. Sora blushed as he scratched the back on his head.
"That means, the messhall for us," Ventus said.
"That sounds good to me, because I'm in a mood for a double chesseburger will all the works," Agumon said.
"I can go for a BLT with extra mayonnaise," Guilmon said.
As Angie, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Eevee, Azurill, Meowth, and the Digimon went to the messhall as the couples left to have a romantic outing. As they went down the streets and they bumped into Lucas and Dawn.
"Hey, Dawn, Lucas," Sora greeted.
"Hey, Sora, Riku," Lucas greeted.
"Hi, Kairi, Naminé," Dawn greeted.
"So, you got your Gym match?" Sora asked.
"No. She's still isn't there. She said she won't be back until later," Lucas groaned as Dawn patted her crush on the back, making him feel better.
"So, we're on the way to the Pokémon Center to rest up. What are you happy couples up to?" Dawn asked.
"We're taking our rugged boys out for dinner," Naminé replied.
"Just to have Riku make it up to her by taking her out to one of those," Kairi teased.
"Just so I could show Naminé I can be a romantic guy," Riku said.
Just then, a limo pulls up and the young woman from before stepped out with the rabbit Pokémon.
"Excuse me," the young woman called out to them. They turned to see her. "I thought so. You're Sora Ketchum, the Pokémon League Champion of Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn as well as one of the winners of the Hearthrome Tag Battle Tournament! And you're also Riku, right?"
"Yeah, I'm Riku," Riku replied. Dawn was at awe for who she was looking at.
"And yeah, I'm Sora," Sora said.
"Wow, it's a real honor to meet the both of you face-to-face like this. Are you looking for the Hearthrome City Gym Leader?" The young woman asked.
"No, I already earned a Gym Badge here. We were on our way to Canalave City. But he is," Sora said, pointing at Lucas.
"I see. Ever since the Hearthrome Contest, she's been gone on an important training mission to develop a whole new battling style. Better than the one she probably did on you," the young woman said.
"I hear you," Lucas pouted. The young woman looked right at Kairi.
"Also, I saw you during the Hearthrome Contest. The way your Volbeat and Illumise were dancing with each other was very cute and romantic," the young woman said.
"Thank you," Kairi said. Dawn got reall excited.
"It's really her," Dawn said. Riku looked right at her.
"It's realy who?" Riku asked. Dawn turned to Riku in surprise.
"Riku! I cna't believe you son't know! That's Paris the world famous Pokémon Stylist!" Dawn asked.
"Well, sorry I didn't know about Paris, Dawn, I guess it's my own fault for not picking up a magazine about Pokémon Stylists," Riku said sarcastically.
"If it makes you feel better, Riku, I never heard of her either," Lucas said.
"It doesn't bother me all that much. In fact, I've seen you around before. You six, your Pokémon, those other three, and those other creatures. I think they were called Digimon. I seen them take on those attacking Digimon before," Paris said, recalling their first stop in Hearthrome City, taking part of the Hearthrome Tag Battle and when Greymon and Growlmon defeated MasterTyrannomon and the other four Tyrannomon and when Garurumon Digivolved into WereGarurumon to defeat Minotarumon. Just then, Kairi looked at the rabbit Pokémon and took out her Pokéball and let's out her Buneary. Dawn does the same thing. The rabbit Pokémon smiled at the both of them. Paris looked at the two rabbit Pokémon. "Oh tres bien! What adorable Buneary you both have there!"
"Thank you," Kairi said.
"Yes, thank you too!' My name's Dawn!" Dawn said.
"Now, you wouldn't happen to be a Pokémon Coordinator, would you, Dawn?" Paris asked.
"Yes! And going for the top!" Dawn said.
"You might like to know the Heathroe Collection starts tomorrow. So why don't you and your Buneary sign up?" Paris suggested. Dawn was surprised.
"Hearthrome Collection?" Dawn asked.
"Right! It's a Pokémon fashion show and it's open to the general public," Paris said. "Everyone gets to dress up and model their Pokémon in their own original designs!"
"Yeah?" Dawn asked, getting all giddy. Dawn imagined herself ina golden yellow dress with her Buneary in a pink dress with a star.
"Poké Stylist is one type of Coordinator, you see? And the winner of the Hearthrome Collection gets to work on the Poké Chic campaign photo shoot! It's a great way to become a Poké Stylist," Paris explained.
"Wow! Poké Chic Campaign?" Dawn asked.
"You might say it's a shortcut to becoming a top Coordinator," Paris said.
"I would love to enter it!" Dawn said.
"Great!" Paris said.
Sora looked at the rabbit Pokémon and he took out his Pokédex.
"Okay, let's ee what does the Pokédex has to say about you?" Sora asked.
Lopunny, the Rabbit Pokémon
The evolved form of Buneary
Type: Normal
Lopunny is constantly monitoring its surroundings. If danger approaches, this Pokémon responds with superdestructive kicks. Once hot seasons are over, Lopunny's coat will be replaced with fur that holds a lot of insulating air in preparation for colder weather.
"And what fur," Sora said.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
"oh, and Kairi, I think you should enter it too. And you can enter with your cute little Eevee," Paris suggested.
"Really?" Kairi asked. She looked at Angel. "What do you think, Angel? You think we should gie it a try?"
"Vee," Angel said.
"Man, if Rarity was here, either pony or human, she would go crazy to get started on making a fashionable design so good, she'd make a Mimikyu's rag look chic," Sora said in his thoughts.
Meanwhile, Etemon was sitting in his trailer, not too far from Hearthrome City. His Gazimon was watching Paris on the screen.
"Just look at her. Isn't she just so beautiful?" The first Gazimon asked, getting lovestruck.
"Very beautiful," the second Gazimon agreed.
"What are you two rodents looking at?" Etemon asked.
"Just at this pretty human," the first Gazimon said.
"Don't you think she's pretty?" The third Gazimon asked. This earned all three of them a bash on the heads from Etemon.
"This ain't no time to be looking at pretty girls, ya little horn dogs! Now, ya'll better get back to work, before I lose my temper again!" Etemon said. The Gazimon didn't waste time getting back to work.
Later, Kairi and Dawn went to register for the Hearthrome Collection.
"You feeling nervous, Kairi?" Dawn asked.
"I kinda am, because I never entered a fashion show before," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said. A joyous scream is heard as Kairi and Dawn to see a young wonman with blonde hair and in a green dress. She ha four other young women with her.
"We love you, Cocoa!" One of the girls said.
"You're the greatest!" Another girl said. Cocoa laughed in a snobbish manner.
"Thatnks for the well-deserved warm welcome! Wow!" Cocoa said.
"Who's that?" Kairi asked. A girl turned to her.
"How in the world could you want to be a Poké Stylist and not kknow the great Lady Cocoa?" The girl asked.
"So, who is she?" Kairi asked. Another girl spoke up.
"She's only a world-famous celebrity who has the ability to hire all the greatest fashion designers for her," the other girl said.
"Wow, I'm impressed," Dawn sad. Buneary was looking at her awestruck to how pretty she looked.
"As soon as I heard Poké Stylist Paris was coming here, of course I had to come too!" Cocoa said. "Graing the Hearthrome Collection wth my debut with the season. And transforming the winner of a local event into an idol to be adored the world over!" Buneary hopped over to Cocoa and she wasnted to touch it. She turned to see the rabbit Pokémon. "Don't you touch me with those filthy oaws of yours!" Kairi instantly didn't like her attitude.
"How rude," Kairi said. Dawn went over to her Buneary.
"I'm so sorry!" Dawn apologized as she ran up to Kairi.
"What? Are you thinking of competing with Buneary?" Cocoa snobbishly asked. The other young women laughed as well.
"What snobs," Kairi hissed.
"What Cocoa considers fashion is plain gaudy," a woman's voice poke. Kairi and Dawn turned to see a woman with black hair and huge red glasses. "Though she has lots of Poké Stylist secrets up her sleeve." Dawn went up to her.
"Excuse me," Dawn spoke. She turned to her with an unconcerned look.
"Yes, what?" The woman strictly asked.
"Could you just tell me just one of her secrets?" Dawn asked.
"That's for me to know and for you to find out," the woman said. She huffed as she took off. She stopped for a moment. "Have you ever been in a Pokémon Contest before?"
"Yes," Dawn replied.
"Coordinators and Poké Stylists, they're all the same," the woman said, taking off. Dawn was letting what she said sink right in.
That night at the Pokémon Center, Dawn was coming up with an design idea as Kairi was doing the same thing for Angel. She held out two dresses for her to wear. One of them was light blue and the other is lavender.
"So, what do you think, Angel? This or this?" Kairi asked. Angel looked at the dresses for a moment and pointed to the lavender dress.
"Vee," Angel aid, making up her mind.
"Yeah? Maybe we can go with that since we'll match," Kairi said.
On the very next day, it was time for the Hearthrome Collection. Enta was hosting the event after hosting the Hearthrome Tag Battle Tournament.
"Welcome everyone to the Hearthrome Collection!" Enta announced as the crowd cheered. "I want you to join me in giving a great big warm Hearthrome City welcome to all the Poké Stylists gathered here today! You all may know my name is Enta, the mayor, and your master of ceremonies!"
"He must have lots of free time on his hands if he's making an appearence like this," Sora said in his thoughts.
"Now it's my honor and priviliege to introduce you to our Poké Stylist judges! First, you love her a lot! Your Poké Stylist idol superstar, Paris!" Enta announced as everyone all cheered as Paris smiled warmly. "And now, presenting, our other Hearthrome judge! She's editor-in-chief of the fashion magazine Poké Chic! The lovely, talented, and gracious Madame Hermione!" Dawn and Kairi were stunned to see she's one of the judges.
"Who knew she'd be a world famous star?" Dawn asked in surprise.
"The Hearthrome Collection is a contest that takes into account the overall impression of a Pokémon including its fashion sense accessories and its moves!" Enta announced as the lights go out and the lights go on stage. "All right then! Let's get this wonderful spectacle underway!" The show beings with a pair with a Bellossom and its trainer. Both wore a purple flower and has jewel around the flower. Bellossom unleashes Magical Leaf. Paris and Madame Herione gave it a so-so. Next it was a trainer and his Magikarp with gems on the body. A Chilorita with jewels on the green seeds, a Toxicroak giving off a punk vibe, a Roselia with roses on the head. And finally an Arcanine with a woman with an Arcanine shirt and wearing a gem collar.
"What a bore. As usual, nothing's really standing out," Madame Hermione said.
"I see you're critical as ever, Ms. Hermione," Paris said.
"It's your fault. You earned suh a reputation as a talented Poké Stylist, everyone wants to be one now," Madame Hermione said.
"I'm sorry. Fashion should be a crime," Paris said in a blush.
"Now it's time for Poké Stylist entry number eighteen! Kairi and her Eevee Angel!" Enta announced as Kairi and Angel came out wearing matching lavender dresses.
"My, that's beautiful," Paris said. Kairi and Angel. Angel stepped forward as she awaits Kairi's instructions.
"Swift!" Kairi ordered. Angel unleased Swift and the stars go around. The stars sprinkle into little bits of dust.
"That was pretty," Agumon said.
"What do you expect?" Sora asked.
"So, now next?" Gabumon asked.
"There should be someone after her. And after that one is someone named Lady Cocoa," Aqua said. The next entry had shown off their spectacle. Once that was done, Enta stepped in.
"And now it's time for entry number twenty! It's the pride of Hearthrome City Cocoa and her Mismagius!" Enta announced. The crowd cheers hard for Cocoa and Mismagius as they entered the stage from opposite sides. Cocoa was wearing a pink dress and a silver tiara as Mismagius is wearing a read dress
"Dear Mismagius, won't you please show everyone your loveley dress now?" Cocoa asked. Mismagius obliged her as it went to the center stage.The bottom part of the dress stretches down, captivating the audience. "Mismagius! Psywave!" Mismagius uses Psywave to give off a sparkle. The audience was even more captivated. Madame Hermione was not impressed. It was now Dawn's turn. She wore a white dress along with Buneary.
"And now, for our final entry number twenty-one: Dawn and her Pokémon Buneary!" Enta annouced. Dawn and Buneary came out as they both stood on stage. Lucas was captivated by Dawn's beauty in the dress. His face was blushing like mad. "Comin after Lady Cocoa, they seem particularly plain!"
"True! But the simplicity can be strong and effective," Paris said. Madame Hermione looked on and she was impressed by Dawn's Buneary bounced around as she was on a field of snow.
"Use Ice Beam!" Dawn ordered. Buneary fires Ice Beam all over. It creates a winter look. Madame Hermione was even more impressed by Dawn's resolve.
"Oh, tres bien! Oui, tres bien!" Paris said.
Once and Dawn and Buneary were impressed by Dawn's performance was done, they bowed their heads as the audience clapped their hands. Kairi was even impressed. They waited for the results.
"The results are in! We've narrowed them down to three Poké Stylist entrants down to three finalsts! From those three, we'll choose a winner, a first runner-up which recognizes best accessories and a special award for good measure!" Enta announced as the crowd cheered. "Our first finalst is number eighteen. Kairi and her Eevee Angel!" Kairi smiled as Angel has shred her expression. "Our second finalist is number twenty, Lady Cocoa, queen of Hearthrome City!" The crowd cheered.
"I expected no less," Lady Cocoa said.
"And our final pick is none other than entrant number twenty-one, and that's Dawn and her Buneary!" Enta announced.
"Kairi, what's my name?" Dawn asked, getting excited.
"Dawn! You made it!" Kairi said.
"Yippee!" Dawn cheered.
The three finalists walked in the center stage to decided the winner.
"Our rewards will be divided up mong these fine entrants!" Enta announced.
"Of course the rest of you no talents are only here to make me look fabulous," Cocoa said under breath. She gave off a snobbish laugh.
"And now to our three awards! The award for uniqueness goes to Kairi and Angel!" Enta announced. Sora was surprised Kairi didn't win it, but it was okay, because she was always a winner to him.
"Of course, we already know who the big winner is," Cocoa snobbishly said.
"And now, the lovely Paris will announce our big winner!" Enta announced.
"Thanks. The winner is," Paris paused as the sounds of drums are heard. Dawn was hoping sh emade it so far. "The amazing team of Dawn and Buneary!"
"Yay!" Dawn cheered. Everyone all applauded for Dawn, especially Lucas.
"Not me?!" Cocoa exclaimed with her tiara nearly falling off.
"I knew you could do it, Dawn!" Lucas said.
"But I'm supposed to win! This doesn't make one bit of sense at all!" Cocoa exclaimed.
"Ah, but the Accessory Award is perfect for you. After all, it was only your dress and accessories that stood out. You see, darling, you completely forgot about showing off your Mismagius," Madame Hermione said. Paris walked up to Dawn.
"I just love the way you used your accessories so well. Simple things that showed off your Buneary. Great! Tres bien!" Paris said.
"Right," Madame Heriome agreed. "And you did it in the true spirit of a Poké Stylist!" Dawn smiled.
"Thanks," Dawn said.
"Blast! I could just die!" Cocoa cried. Paris placed the winning tiara on Dawn's head and on Buneary's.
"Now, if it's all right with you, Dawn, I'd like you to start work with Poké Chic right away!" Madame Heriome said.
"Thank you so much!" Dawn said. "But you see my goal is to become a Top Contest Coordinator, and there's still a lot of work I need to do with my Pokémon."
"I understad," Madame Heriome said with a smile. "Make your Pokémon shine in contests like they did today!"
"Thanks!" Dawn said.
And so, the Hearthrome Collection has provided Kairi and Dawn with new valuable experiences. Now, the journey continues on as Sora, Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Angie, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, and the Digimon continued on their goal to Canalave City for Sora's next Gym battle.
