Episode 390: Sora vs Paul
A couple of hours has passed since Sora's Battle Frontier series of battles. Sora has never felt more tired he has ever felt since he was on his feet for all those battles. Pikachu, Grotle, Monferno, Empoleon, Mismagius, and Umbreon have all shared his exhaustion. Sora was laying on the ground Kairi went right to her boyfriend and laid down next to him and cuddles him.
"What are you doing?" Sora asked.
"Cuddling," Kairi answered playfully.
"You don't need a reason, do you?" Sora asked.
"No. Only because you deserve it," Kairi said. She gave her boyfriend a kiss on the lips. He kisses her back. Pikachu and Angel were also kissing. Terra and Aqua were watching and they decided it was time to talk about their relationship.
"You think we should just tell them, Aqua?" Terra asked.
"I think so, Terra. I mean, we've been in a relationship for a while and we haven't told Sora, Kairi, or Ven. And honestly, I think they deserve to know what's going on between us," Aqua said.
"Yeah. Ven, Meowth, and the Digimon should all hear this with Sora and Kairi," Terra said.
"Hear what with Sora and Kairi?" Ventus asked, walking up to his two friends. Meowth and the Digimon are with them.
"Yeah, what's going on?" Meowth asked.
"Ven, why don't you go and get Sora and Kairi?" Terra said.
"Why?" Ventus asked.
"Because we think there's something you all should know," Aqua said.
"Okay, Ventus said. He went to get his cousin and his girlfriend. "Sora, Kairi, sorry to interuppt, but Terra and Aqua said they wanna tell us something."
"What for?" Kairi asked.
"They said they wanna tell all of us," Ventus said.
"Tell us what?" Sora asked.
"I don't know," Ventus said.
The couple joined Ventus to hear what Terra and Aqua has to tell them. Sora, Kairi, Ventus, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, and the Digimon all got curious about what they had to hear.
"So guys, what is it?" Sora asked.
"Well, first of all, we have been talking alot about this and we just didn't know how to let it out yet," Terra said.
"Let what out?" Sora asked.
"Okay, the thing is, it's been going on ever since we were in Veilstone City," Aqua said.
"So, we kept it to ourselves until now," Terra added.
"But no more," Aqua said. She and Terra took a deep breath. "Should I say anything, Terra?"
"We'll both say it," Terra said. Aqua nodded. Both have taken a deep breath.
"We're a couple," Terra and Aqua finally admitted. They held hands as they blushed.
"So, that's it," Meowth said.
"What do you know?" Biyomon asked.
"I never would have guessed it," Wormmon said.
"So, does that mean, we can start having a double date with you?" Kairi asked.
"How many dates have you been on? And does anyone else know about you two?" Sora asked.
"Just two, and only Lillie and the others. They swore not to tell anyone," Terra said.
"They said they made a Pinkie Promise from Pinkie Pie when they met them in Earthland," Aqua said.
"Pinkie Pie did say breaking a Pinkie Promise is a way to lose a friend's trust forever," Sora said.
"But all the same, I always thought you two were good for each other. We're so happy for you both," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Thank you both," Aqua said.
"We should celebrate," Agumon said.
Just then, a pair of triplets and they each had six dragonish Pokémon. They're all boys. One has an Axew, a Fraxure, and a Haxorus. He also has a Pokémon that resembles a slug or a slime with beady black eyes. The lower half of its body is light purple, while the upper half is a paler shade of purple. Along the dividing line of the two colors are five large, green spots. The front part of this line is its mouth. On top of its head are two pairs of antenna-like horns; the hind pair is longer than the front pair. These sensitive horns are used to check its surroundings. Another resembles asnail. The lower half of its body is light purple, while the upper half is a paler purple. It has featureless, green eyes, a single, tiny eyelash over each eye, and two pale green spots on each cheek. It has nubby, underdeveloped arms. On top of its head are two pairs of antenna-like horns; the front horns are small nubs, while the hind horns are considerably longer. Its gelatinous body forms a spiral shell-like structure on its back. And the third one is bipedal, draconic Pokémon that is coated with slime. Most of its body is pale purple with a darker purple underside. It has bright green eyes, two green spots on each cheek, a relatively long neck, and a short, rounded snout. On top of its head are two pairs of antenna-like horns. The foremost horns are small nubs, but the hind horns are longer, thicker, and curve down its neck. The tips of the larger horns are slightly curled. It has proportionally short limbs with two digits each and a large, thick tail with a curled tip. Along each side of its tail are three green spots.
The second triplet has a small quadrupedal reptilian Pokémon that resembles a dragon with slight dinosaur-like traits. It has a ruff of thick black fur covering its neck and most of its head. As a result of the fur covering its head, it cannot see. Beneath the fur it has blue skin. It has four short legs, a round blue body, a small ruffly tail, and a spike-like tuft of fur atop its head. Another is a quadrupedal two-headed draconian Pokémon. Two black wing-like appendages and a second head have appeared on its body. Black scruffy fur covers both heads' necks and eyes. It has two claws on each front leg, as well as a stubby tail and two feather-like "horns" on both of its heads. Its round, plumper underbelly has two rows of magenta scales. And the third one is a Hydreigon. He also has a small winged mammalian Pokémon that resembles a baby fruit bat. Its body is covered in purple fur of various shades, with black patches of scruffy fur encircling its neck and on its legs. Its scruffy head is light purple with a patch of dark purple fur just above its mouth. The Pokémon has large yellow ovular eyes with slit pupils. Its ears are quite large and round, with rings of dark purple and black on the insides. It has tiny black claws attached to its small light-purple wings. Dark purple flaps of skin connect its tiny wings to its body. Its belly is light purple, as well as its small dangling feet. Another is a large, draconian bat-like Pokémon. It stands upright on its two clawed feet when it isn't flying. Its body is mainly purple and black in color. It has large, black and purple wings, which bear three red, claw-like protrusions at their tips each. The thin flaps of skin connecting its wings to its body are green in color. It has a fluffy white collar of fur encircling the lower portion of its neck. Its underbelly is purple while its back and extremities are black, with red claws. It has piercing yellow eyes and v-shaped eyebrow-like features. Its mouth has two pointed bqlack features just below its nostrils. Its ears, which resemble loudspeakers, are very large and rounded with green insides. The sixth one is a Druddigon.
And the third triplet has a brown aquatic Pokémon that resembles a marine animal similar to a leafy sea dragon. The tip of the Pokémon's tail has three leaf-like fins. The Pokémon has a pair of roundish, blue pectoral fins on the sides of its body, a purple belly and a blunt spike on its hunched back. Its face is the same color as its belly, with an upward-pointing snout and circular red eyes with small black pupils. A roundish blue growth with a brown stem sticks out on the back of its head. It somewhat resembles Horsea in body shape. Another is a a large brown aquatic Pokémon that resembles a leafy sea dragon. Its main body is curved in way that resembles the number three. Its sides are a dull shade of purple with slender vertical lines. Its pectoral fins and tail fin resemble dried up kelp. It has a straightened brown snout. The Pokémon has a red leaf-like crest and green antenna on top of its head. Another is a Tyrunt, and another is a a massive bipedal dinosaur-like Pokémon that resembles a Tyrannosaurus Rex. It has craggy auburn rock-like scales covering most of its body, while its underbelly is gray and white. It has a large spiny white fringe around its neck. It has small arms with two sharp black claws, and powerfully-built legs. Its feet are very large with three sharp black claws on each. It has many sharp white teeth on its lower jaw, and craggy red fangs on its upper jaw. It has an orange spiked crest on its forehead, and small white eyes. It has a thick, powerful tail with orange spiked formations at the tip. Another is a small, yellow, quadrupedal, reptilian Pokémon that resembles a frilled lizard. It has round, blue eyes and long, thin, floppy, deep, gray, ear-like appendages with yellow, triangular tips which dangle from either side of its head. Its body is mainly bright yellow; its feet, the tip of its long tail and the top of its head are deep gray. Its body is slinky and thin, with tiny clawed feet and a long tail. Its head is quite large compared to its body. The top of its round head is slightly conical in shape. The other is a large bipedal reptilian Pokémon that resembles a frilled neck lizard. Its slender body is mainly bright yellow, with black patches on the top of its head, its frilled neck, its claws, its feet, and the tip of its tail. The tips of its neck frills are triangular and orange in color, and it has orange stripes around its legs.
"Sal, Hal! Are you seeing what I'm seeing?" The first triplet asked.
"I am seeing it, Al! It's Sora Ketchum! He took on the Hoenn Battle Frontier Brains!" Sal said.
"I don't believe it! I must be dreaming! Someone pinch me!" Hal exclaimed. Druddigon pinched him. "Ow!" He gave Druddigon a sour look. "I didn't mean that literally, Druddigon!"
"How about we approach him and ask him for an autograph," Sal suggested.
"Which one of us is going first?" Al asked.
"You go first, Sal! It was your idea," Hal said.
"No way, Hal. How about you, Al?" Sal asked. The triplets all started to argue about who should go right in first. They went on until Al stepped up. "Guys! How about we all go at the same time? That way, we won't stand here like total idiots, making people think we were chattering Chatot."
"Right," Sal and Hal both said.
The triplets and the Pokémon went right towards the group as they were congratulated their friends. The triplets were playing Rock, Paper, Scissors on who was going to speak up. Al chose scissors as Hal and Sal chose Rock.
"Shoot! You always do this! For once, can't I win it?" Al groaned.
"What are you complaining about? You get to speak up for us," Hal said.
"That's true," Al said. He cleared his throat. "Excuse me, Mr. Sora!" Al called out. The group turned to see him. "Hi, sorry to bug you, but we were watching you battle earlier."
"If you wanna challenge to a battle me, you're going have to wait because my Pokémon are not up for it; and you don't wanna win that way," Sora said.
"Oh no, we're not interested in a challenge, Mr. Sora," Al said.
"We?" Kairi asked, dumbfounded.
"Yes. Me and my brothers," Al said, making Hal, Sal, and the Pokémon come on over. "My name's Al, and these are my brothers. This is Sal, this is Hal, and these are my Pokémon, Axew, Goomy, Fraxure, Sliggoo, Haxorus, Goodra."
"Meet Deino, Noibat, Zwelious, Noivern Hydreigon, and Druddigon," Hal introduced.
"And these are Skrelp, Dragalge, Tyrunt, Tyrantrum, Helioptile, and Heliolisk," Sal introduced.
"Nice to meet you. This is Kairi, my girlfriend. And this is Ventus, my cousin. This is Terra and his girlfriend Aqua. And these are Digimon, Agumon, Gabumon, Biyomon, Tentomon, Palmon, Gomamon, Patamon, Salamon, Veemon, Hawkmon, Armadillomon, and Wormmon," Sora introduced his friends.
"So, those are Digimon. They're smaller than I thought," Al said.
"There are big ones; we know because we turn into them," Agumon said. Sora looked at each of the Pokémon and scanned them all.
Haxorus, the Axe Jaw Pokémon

Their tusks can shatter rocks. Territory battles between Fraxure can be intensely violent. Since a broken tusk will not grow back, they diligently sharpen their tusks on river rocks after they've been fighting.
Deino, the Irate Pokémon
Type: Dark/Dragon
It tends to bite everything, and it is not a picky eater. Approaching it carelessly is dangerous. They cannot see, so they tackle and bite to learn about their surroundings. Their bodies are covered in wounds.
Zwelious, the Hostile Pokémon
The evolved form of Deino
Type: Dark/Dragon
Since their two heads do not get along and compete with each other for food, they always eat too much. After it has eaten up all the food in its territory, it moves to another area. Its two heads do not get along.
Hydreigon, the Brutal Pokémon
The evolved form of Zwelious
Type: Dark/Dragon
The heads on their arms do not have brains. They use all three heads to consume and destroy everything. This brutal Pokémon travels the skies on its six wings. Anything that moves seems like a foe to it, triggering its attack.
Druddigon, the Cave Pokémon
Type: Dragon
It warms its body by absorbing sunlight with its wings. When its body temperature falls, it can no longer move. It races through narrow caves, using its sharp claws to catch prey. The skin on its face is harder than a rock.
Skrelp, the Mock Kelp Pokémon
Type: Poison/Water
Camouflaged as rotten kelp, they spray liquid poison on prey that approaches unawares and then finish it off. It also hides from foes while storing up power for its evolution.
Dragalge, the Mock Kelp Pokémon
The evolved form of Skrelp
Type: Poison/Dragon
Their poison is strong enough to eat through the hull of a tanker, and they spit it indiscriminately at anything that enters their territory. Tales are told of ships that wander into seas where Dragalge live, never to return.
Goomy, the Soft Tissue Pokémon
Type: Dragon
Goomy is classified as the weakest Dragon Type Pokémon, it lives in damp, shady places, so its body doesn't dry out. It's covered in a slimy membrane that makes any punches or kicks slide off it harmlessly.
Sliggoo, the Soft Tissue Pokémon
The evolved form of Goomy
It drives away opponents by excreting a sticky liquid that can dissolve anything. Its eyes devolved, so it can't see anything. Its four horns are a high-performance radar system. It uses them to sense sounds and smells, rather than using ears or a nose.
Tyrantrum, the Despot Pokémon
The evolved form of Tyrunt
Type: Rock/Dragon
Nothing could stop this Pokémon 100 million years ago, so it behaved like a king. Thanks to its gargantuan jaws, which could shred thick metal plates as if they were paper.
Helioptile, the Generator Pokémon
Type: Electric/Normal
When spread, the frills on its head act like solar panels, generating the power behind this Pokémon's electric moves. The sun powers this Pokémon's electricity generation. Interruption of that process stresses Helioptile to the point of weakness.
Heliolisk, the Generator Pokémon
The evolved form of Helioptile
Type: Electric/Normal
It stimulates its muscles with electricity, boosting the strength in its legs and enabling it to run 100 yards in five seconds. They flare their frills and generate energy. A single Heliolisk can generate sufficient electricity to power a skyscraper.
Noibat, the Sound Wave Pokémon
Type: Flying/Dragon
They live in pitch-black caves.Even a robust wrestler will become dizzy and unable to stand when exposed to its 200,000-hertz ultrasonic waves.
Noivern, the Sound Wave Pokémon
The evolved form of Noibat
Type: Flying/Dragon
They fly around on moonless nights and attack careless prey. Nothing can beat them in a battle in the dark. The ultrasonic waves it emits from its ears can reduce a large boulder to pebbles. It swoops out of the dark to attack.
"Those are some neat Pokémon you got there," Sora said. The triplets all smiled, having to hear Sora compliment their Pokémon. Their Pokémon all beamed as well. Sora gave them all an autograph and the triplets all had selfies with him, along with Kairi. They took one with Kairi kissing Kairi on the cheek and one kissing her on the cheek. They took one with Sora and Kairi kissing while the triplets gave a thumbs up. With that done, the group took their leave of the triplets as they waved at them.
Many days later, the group were continuing on, they all make a stop to the local Pokémon Center. Outside, there are statues of Darkrai and Cresselia.
"Who are those Pokémon?" Veemon asked.
"Darkrai and Cresselia," Kairi answered.
"Darkrai and Cresselia?" Ventus asked.
"Didn't Team Galactic try to get information on them?" agumon asked, remembering his arrival in the real world.
"Yeah," Sora said. He took out his Pokédex and looked them up.
Darkrai, the Pitch-Black Pokémon
Type: Dark
It can lull people to sleep and make them dream. It is active during nights of the new moon. It chases people and Pokémon from its territory by causing them to experience deep, nightmarish slumbers.
Cresselia, the Lunar Pokémon
Type: Psychic
Those who sleep holding Cresselia's feather are assured of joyful dreams. It is said to represent the crescent moon. Shiny particles are released from its wings like a veil.
"Pokémon that can produce dreams, wow," Salamon said.
"It is amazing," Patamon said.
"I would agree," a familiar voice spoke. The group turned to see Reggie coming up towards them.
"Reggie, hey," Sora said, nervously. Reggie stopped in his tracks as he looked directly at Sora.
"You know what's up with Paul, don't you?" Reggie asked. Sora was surprised by Reggie's claim.
"How did-" Sora asked.
"I could tell you were sketchy on the details, so it wasn't hard for me to figure out. So, I need to know, now," Reggie said. Sora turned to Kairi and she nodded. Sora didn't want to lie to Paul's brother and he looked at the ground.
"Yes, I do know. Just try not to get mad at me. Paul is under the control of an evil Digimon named Myotismon. He shown Paul an illusion of us talking trash about him. I tried to convince him that it was a lie, but he didn't believe me. Paul was in the Digital World for a little while and Myotismon did something to him. I'm sorry I didn't tell you," Sora apologized.
"Did you use your aura ability to look into his?" Reggie asked. Sora was shocked to hear Reggie ask him that. "Riku told me about your ability. After seeing the Digimon, I'd believe just about anything. Riku told me that you thought I wouldn't believe you." Sora didn't respond to him. "I promise I'm not mad at you, Sora. I'm sure you had a good reason."
"That's what I told him," Riku said. They saw Riku, Naminé, Eevee, Azurill, Guilmon, Terriermon, Renamon, Lopmon, Gaomon, and Lalamon approach them.
"Riku," Sora said.
"So, Reggie and I had ourselves a talk before leaving Snowpoint City. We decided that the two of you would have a battle. We hope maybe, it might knock some sense into him," Riku said.
"A full six-on-six Pokémon battle," Reggie said. Sora knew there was no avoiding this. If he was going to make Paul see the truth and hopefully, break Myotismon's hold.
"Does Paul know about this?" Sora asked.
"He does. He's waiting for you at Lake Acurity. And Sora," Reggie paused. Sora looked right at Paul's brother. "Do what you can." Sora nodded. He took out his Pokémon Box and he exchanged his team except for Pikachu and Monferno. He has Dracovish, Urshifu, Spiritomb, and Gabite. The group all headed for Lake Acurity. Paul was at waiting for Sora to arrive.
"I was beginning to think you weren't going to show up, Sora. It was bad enough that you had come and showed off by defeating Brandon, but you defeating the rest of the Hoenn Battle Frontier is over the line! You won all of them because you had luck on your side!" Paul sneered.
"Luck has nothing to do with it, Paul. I won, because I believed in my Pokémon. That is something all trainers should do and something you should already know by now," Sora said.
"Still spewing the same shit. And that's exactly what you're full of, Sora! I'm going to start by showing all of your friends that I'm a more powerful trainer than you!" Paul said.
"You still don't get it. Looks like the battle with Brandon didn't teach you a thing," Sora said. "Talking some sense into you is a huge waste of time, so instead, I plan on knocking it into you."
"One moment!" A robotic voice spoke. It turns out that a yellow drone came hovering down. It has the face of a Rotom.
"What the heck is that?" Salamon asked.
"That's a Drone Rotom. I thought we could use a judge to referee the match and display the scoreboard. Rotom, do your thing," Reggie said.
"Indeed! The two trainers here, Sora of the Kanto region, and Paul of the Sinnoh region shall take place here and now. Both trainers will be using all six of their Pokémon! Susbsitutions are permitted anytime by the trainers and the results of battle is decided when all six of either Pokémon cannot continue! Sora, Paul, take your positions!" Drone Rotom instructed. Sora and Paul took their positions as the rest of the group as taken their positions. "Before we begin, we shall flip a coin!" A coin is displayed on the scoreboard. "Heads or tails?"
"I call heads!" Sora said.
"Tails!" Paul said. THe coin is flipped and it lands on tails.
"Heads! Sora has the first move!" Drone Rotom instructed. Sora took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go right in, Dracovish!" Sora called out. Dracovish came on out to battle. Reggie and Paul were stunned by the sight of Dracovish.
"What is that?" Reggie asked.
"A fossil Pokémon, Dracovish. Sora caught it at the Galar region. We were totally surprised when we saw it for the first time," Kairi said.
"It looks like a Water Type, so I know which one to use!" Paul said, taking out a Pokéball and threw it. "Torterra! Stand by for battle!"
"Dracovish! Dragon Rush!" Sora ordered. Dracovish ran towards Torterra and lands a hit.
"Frenzy Plant!" Paul ordered. Torterra slams onto the ground and thorns come at the fossil Pokémon.
"Dodge and use Fishious Rend!" Sora ordered. Dracovish ran towards Torterra to avoid Frenzy Plant, and lands a hit on the continent Pokémon. "Now, use Dragon Pulse!" Dracovish unleashed Dragon Pulse right at Torterra and lands a hit.
"So, Kairi, you said Dracovish is a fossil Pokémon, so does that make it a Rock Type?" Reggie asked.
"No. Dracovish is a Water and Dragon Type. So, it won't take heavy damage from Torterra's Grass Type moves," Kairi explained.
"Dracovish also looks like two different Pokémon merged into one," Reggie said.
"That's what I thought. The same can be said for Dracozolt, Arctovish, and Arctozolt," Kairi said.
"Those are fossil Pokémon, too?" Reggie said.
"Yeah. You should see them because they're awesome!" Ventus said. Sora calls back Dracovish and took out another Pokéball and threw it.
"Now, go, Spiritomb!" Sora called out. Spiritomb came on out to battle.
"A Spiritomb?!" Paul exclaimed. "Torterra! Stone Edge!" Torterra fires Stone Edge right at the forbidden Pokémon.
"Spiritomb! Use Dark Pulse!" Sora ordered. Spiritomb fires Dark Pulse to block the stones. "Now, use Shadow Ball!" Spiritomb fires Shadow Ball and took a hit. Paul calls back Torterra and took out another Pokéball and threw it.
"Weavile! Stand by for battle!" Paul called out. Weavile came on out to battle Spiritomb. "Use Swords Dance!" Weavile did a dance to increase its attack.
"Use Blizzard!" Paul ordered.
"Spiritomb! Hyper Beam!" Sora ordered. Spiritomb fires Hyper Beam right at Weavile and lands a hit onto Weavile, earning a knockout.
"Weavile is unable to battle! Spritomb wins!" Drone Rotom announced. Paul calls back Weavile and Sora calls Spiritomb since after using Hyper Beam.
"Sora is making a smart move, calling back Spritomb since he won't attack," Kairi said.
"True. Now, let's see how Paul will respond in kind," Terra said.
"Electabuzz! Stand by for battle!" Paul called out. Electabuzz came out to battle. Sora took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Gabite!" Sora called out and Gabite came on out to battle.
"Gabite's a Ground Type Pokémon, so Electabuzz's Electric Type moves won't have any affect," Meowth said.
"True, but I think Electabuzz is a higer level than Gabite is," Reggie said.
"Electabuzz! Brick Break!" Paul ordered. Electabuzz came at the cave Pokémon.
"Dig!" Sora ordered. Gabite dug into the ground. Gabite came out to land a hit onto Electabuzz. "Now, use Earthquake!" Gabite jumped and landed Earthquake, causing Electabuzz to tumble. "Now, use Dragon Breath!" Gabite fires Dragon Breath to land a hit. Gabite started to evolve. Gabite was now a Garchomp. "You evolved! Crunch!" Garchomp came at Electabuzz.
"Protect!" Paul ordered. Electabuzz uses Protect to block Garchomp's Crunch "Use Brick Break!"
"Dual Chop!" Sora ordered. Garchomp lands a couple of hits Electabuzz on the mark. Garchomp looks up in the sky. Garchomp's body glows orange and an orange ball of light appears inside his chest. The glow fades and a ball of orange energy appears in front of Garchomp's mouth. Garchomp fires the ball into the air and it explodes, releasing many orbs at Electabuzz, causing some heavy damage. Electabuzz was taken down.
"What was that move Garchomp just used?" Ventus asked.
"That was Draco Metoer. It's a powerful Dragon Type, but it comes with a price," Reggie said. Everyone all looked right at him.
"What kind of price?" Salamon asked.
"Draco Metoeor can lower Garchomp's special attack," Reggie said.
"Oh boy," Gabumon said.
"Use Dragon Claw!!" Sora ordered. Garchomp comes at Electabuzz and lands a hit onto Electabuzz. Electabuzz was overwhelmed by Garchomp's Dragon Claw, earning a knockout.
"Electabuzz is unable to battle! Garchomp wins!" Drone Rotom announced.
"Paul has lost another one," Biyomon said.
"That was because of Garchomp's evolution. I could tell by how well Sora was handling Gabite that it caused him to evolve," Riku said.
"You're right. Now, Paul has four left," Naminé said. Paul calls Electabuzz back and he took out anohter Pokéball and threw it.
"Honchkrow! Stand by for battle!" Paul called out and Honchkrow came on out. Sora calls back Garchomp and takes out another Pokéball and threw it. "Your turn now, Urshifu!" Urshifu came on out to battle.
"What kind of Pokémon is that?" Reggie asked.
"Urshifu, but in Rapid Strike. Sora must be planning to throw Paul off by using Honchkrow, even though he knows it's a Fighting Type," Kairi said.
"Honchkrow! Use Sky Attack!" Paul ordered. Honchkrow's body started glowing.
"Be ready, Urshifu," Sora said. Urshifu understood.
"Now!" Paul ordered. Honchkrow darts right at Urshifu, hoping to finish it off. Kubfu and Zarude has finally arrived and they were watching the battle between them. Kubfu could tell something was up with him. Zarude was interested in Sora for some reason. Kubfu was looking at Riku as well. It could sense there was something about him and then over to Urshifu. Speaking of which, Sora had to spring his trap now.
"Urshifu! Surging Strikes!" Sora ordered. Urshifu gave Honchkrow a series of blows onto the big boss Pokémon. Sora calls back Honchkrow and looked right at Pikachu. "You're in now, Pikachu!"
"Pika!" Pikachu nodded and rushed right in.
"Pikachu?!" Paul exclaimed.
"Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered. Pikachu lands a Thunderbolt right at Honchkrow and deals some more damage. Honchkrow has been taken down.
"Honchkrow is unable to battle! Pikachu wins!" Drone Rotom announced.
"First, Paul loses Weavile, and then, Electabuzz, and now he lost Honchkrow. This isn't going good for Paul at all," Meowth said.
"He was right, That battle with Brandon didn't teach him a thing," Riku said.
"Vee," Eevee said. Paul calls back Honchkrow and took out another Pokéball and threw it.
"Ursaring! Stand by for battle!" Paul called out. Ursaring came back out to battle. "Use Slash!" Ursaring comes at Pikachu with Slash.
"Dodge and use Iron Tail!" Sora ordered. Pikachu lands a hit with Iron Tail, but Ursaring has landed a hit onto Ursaring. Ursaring has now become paralyzed.
"Ursaring has become paralyzed thanks to Pikachu's Static!" Ventus said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
Ursaring's body gave off a red aura and roars.
"What's up with Ursaring?" Agumon asked.
"That's Guts. It's an ability that kicks in to boost up its attack strength when it's either Paralyzed, Burned, or Poisoned," Riku said.
"Azu," Azurill chirped.
"Use Slash!" Paul ordered. Ursaring slashes at the mouse Pokémon and deals some heavy damage.
"Don't overdo it, Pikachu! Come on back!" Sora called out. Pikachu rushed back at Sora's side. Sora took out a Pokéball and threw it. "Urshifu! Back to action!" Urshifu came back out to battle. Pau growled.
"Use Focus Punch!" Sora ordered. Urshifu lands a hit onto Ursaring. "Surging Strikes!" Urshifu gave Ursaring a series of punches and kicks and sends Ursaring back resulting in a knockout.
"Ursaring is unable to battle! Urshifu wins!" Drone Rotom announced. Pual calls back Ursaring and growled in anger. He took out another Pokéball and threw it.
"Magmotar! Stand by for battle!" Paul called out and Magmotar came right out to battle. "Flamethrower!" Magmotar fires Flamethrower right at Urshifu.
"Dodge and use Dynamic Punch!" Sora ordered. Urshifu avoids Magmotar's attack and lands a powerful punch onto Magmotar, resulting in confusion. Urshifu became burned when it gave Magmortar a punch.
"What happened?" Ventus asked.
"That was Magmotar's ability: Flame Body. It happens when a physical move makes contact with Magmotar," Terra said.
"And Urshifu will take damage from thise burns," Reggie added. Sora calls back Urshifu and took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Back to action, Garchomp!" Sora called out. Garchomp came back out. Paul calls back Magmotar and took out another Pokéball and threw it.
"Torterra! Stand by for battle!" Paul called out and Torterra came back out to battle. "Hyper Beam!" Torterra fires Hyper Beam right at Garchomp.
"Dodge it by using Dig!" Sora ordered. Garchomp dug into the ground to avoid Torterra's Hyper Beam. Unfortunately, Garchomp was struck by the beam, forcing Torterra out of the ground and fell to his side, resulting in a knockout.
"Garchomp is unable to battle! Torterra wins!" Drone Rotom announced. Sora calls back Torterra and took out Dracovish's Pokéball and threw it.
"Dracovish! Back to action!" Sora called out. Arctovish came back out to battle. "Fishious Rend!" Dracovish came at Torterra to land a hit, and took the hit. "Now, use Crunch!"
"Frenzy Plant!" Paul ordered. Torterra uses Frenzy Plant on Dracovish, holding it tight. "Now, use Hyper Beam!" Torterra unleashed Hyper Beam and lands a hit. Dracovish has been taken down.
"Dracovish is unable to battle! Torterra wins!" Drone Rotom announced. Sora calls Dracovish back and he took out Monferno's Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Monferno!" Sora called out. Monferno came on out to battle against his old trainer. Paul just glared at Monferno and Sora.
"I don't believe it. Monferno had to evolve from the Chimchar used to have," Reggie said.
"Sure has," Riku said.
"What are your thoughts about Sora with Monferno?" Aqua asked.
"To be honest, I don't think Monferno would make it as Paul's Pokémon, but he made it out as Sora's Pokémon instead," Reggie said.
"I agree. Sora has treated Chimchar much more kinder than Paul," Kairi said. Paul calls Torterra back and sends Ursaring back out.
"Magmotar! Stand by for battle!" Paul called out and Magmotar has came back out to battle. "Rock Tomb!" Magmotar unleashed Rock Tomb.
"Mach Punch!" Sora ordered. Monferno dashed right at Magmotar and landed a punch. Magmotar has taken a bad hit from Mach Punch and then Monferno started to evolve. Paul was annoyed by Monferno's sudden evolution. Monferno was now an Infernape. "Monferno, you evolved." Sora grinned. "Infernape! Mach Punch!"
"Smog!" Paul ordered. Magmotar unleashes a smog from its mouth and Infernape ends up being poisoned.
"Flamethrower!" Sora and Paul ordered. Magmotar and Infernape fire Flamethrower right at the same time, resulting in an explosion. Both has taken a heavy blow. It results in a double knockout.
"Both of Infernape and Magmotar are unable to battle! This round is a draw!" Drone Rotom announced. Both Sora and Paul call back their fallen Fire Types. Paul sends out Torterra again. Sora looked right at Pikachu.
"Thunderbolt and Volt Tackle won't do a thing, but we got Iron Tail and Quick Attack," Sora said.
"Pika!" Pikachu agreed.
"Quick Attack!" Sora ordered. Pikachu ran towards Torterra with Quick Attack.
"Mega Drain!" Paul ordered. Torterra uses his three mountains and grabs Pikachu and stats draining Pikachu's stamina. "Now, use Crunch!" Torterra gave Pikachu a Crunch on the tail and tossed him. Pikachu has been taken down.
"Pikachu is unable to battle! Torterra wins!" Drone Rotom announced. Kairi went up to Pikachu and picked him up.
"Don't worry, Sora, I got him," Kairi said. Sora smiled lovingly at her while Paul glared at the couple hatefully.
"Pathetic," Paul spitefully spated. "The relationship between the two of you is pathetic!" Kairi was appalled by Paul's words.
"Paul, you can say what you want about me, but leave my girlfriend out of it!" Sora said, defending his relationship. "You're down to one left! You better make it count!" Sora took out his Spritomb's Pokéball and threw it. "Spritomb! Back to action!" Spiritomb comes back out to battle. "Dark Pulse!" Spiritomb unleashed Dark Pulse right at Torterra.
"Frenzy Plant!" Paul ordered. Torterra slams on the gorund and thorns came right out.
"Giga Impact!" Sora ordered. Spritomb came at Torterra with Gigia Impact. Both Pokémon collides their attacks and another explosion occurs and Spiritomb has been taken out.
"Spritomb is unable to battle! Torterra wins!" Drone Rotom announced. Sora calls Spiritomb back and he saw how tiired Torterra was getting. Sora knew Urshifu was at a disadvantage, but he had to risk it.
"Urshifu! Back to action!" Sora called out and Urshifu came back out to battle. "Surging Strikes!" Urshifu came at Torterra and gave him a series of beatings. Sora knew Torterra couldn't attack again after using Frenzy Plant, so he had to end it fast. "Urshifu! Use Body Press!"
"Hyper Beam!" Paul ordered. Torterra fires Hyper Beam. Urshifu misses and lands a devastating blow onto Torterra, landing a heavy blow. Torterra has been taken down at last.
"Torterra is unable to battle! Urshifu wins! And it is Sora who is the winner!" Drone Rotom announced. Paul snarled as he calls back his fallen Torterra.
"How could it be?! He even took down my strongest Pokémon?!" Paul exclaimed with anger. The darkness in his heart was growing by the minute.
"Paul, you lost because you let your anger get the best of you! You didn't keep your cool! Myotismon has taken advantage of it and he's using that to take control over you!" Sora said.
"Shut up! I will never accept that you're a powerful trainer, Sora!I will battle you again and I will win! You can count on that!" Paul stated.
"Paul, enough is enough!" Reggie said to his younger brother. "Sora is right, You didn't keep your cool. I always kept my cool in battle, and I never let my emotions get ahold of me like that!"
"SHUT UP!" Paul roared. Reggie was shocked to hear his little brother take it out on him. "Just shut the hell up!" Paul started to take off. "Just whose side are you on? Mine or theirs? How could you be on their side after what they said about you, too!"
"Paul, they didn't say a thing about me! Sora isn't the kind of person who would do that!" Reggie said.
"So, even my own brother betrayed me! I see how it is! I'm gone!" Paul said, walking off.
"Paul! Listen! Sora was trying to see that it wasn't true!" Reggie said. Paul just ignored his brother and kept going.
"I should have realized Reggie would side with them! He chose them over his own family! I guess I shouldn't trust anyone or anything!" Paul said in his thoughts.
Mercurymon was watching from a distance and he chuckled as he knew the darkness Myotismon implanted him with was growing stronger.
After the battle, Sora went up to Reggie.
"Sorry that I couldn't try to reach out to him," Sora apologized.
"Don't apologize, Sora. You tried and that's all that mattered. It's that Digimon, Myotismon. There is no way in hell I will ever forgive him for what he did to my brother, whatever it was," Reggie said.
"None of us will," Kairi said.
"Vee," Angel agreed.
Myotismon was watching the battle from start to finish. Sora's aura ability kicked in and he spoke with Myotismon.
"Myotismon, I know you're watching! I knew you were watching ever since my battle with Brandon! And I knew you were watching me in all thse battles, too! I don't know what you did to Paul, but mark my words, I will not going to let you get away with it! And you're going to be sorry for all the things you have done and all the Digimon you have hurt! You're not having any world! Not ever!" Sora said through his aura. Myotismon laughed at Sora's promise.
"We'll see about that," Myotismon said, chuckling some more.
Sora and his friends said their goodbyes to Reggie as he returned to Veilstone City. Sora and his friends were about to take off when Kubfu and Zarude approached them.
"What are they?" Guilmon asked.
"It's a Kubfu," Biyomon said.
"And who's that Pokémon?" Sora sked. He took out his Pokédex and scanned it.
Zarude, the Rogue Monkey Pokémon
Type: Dark/Grass
Once the vines on Zarude's body tear off, they become nutrients in the soil. This helps the plants of the forest grow. Within dense forests, this Pokémon lives in a pack with others of its kind. It's incredibly aggressive, and the other Pokémon of the forest fear it.
"Zarude," Sora said. Zarude made some screeching sounds to Sora. He turned to Meowth for the translation. "What did Zarude say?"
"Zarude's saying that these two have come a long way to find some worthy trainers, so they found you and him," Meowth translated, pointing at Riku. Kubfu went up to Riku.
"Me?" Riku asked.
"Eevee?" Eevee asked.
"Fu," Kubfu nodded.
"So, you came all this way just to be with me and Riku?" Sora asked. Zarude nodded. He took out a Pokéball and he held it out. Zarude waved its hands and Pikachu and the Pokémon in their Pokéballs inside all were healed from their injuries. Zarude pressed the button on the Pokéball and flowed inside. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. Sora's Pokémon Box activates and he chose to keep Zarude in exchange for Spiritomb. Riku did the same thing, so Kubfu flows inside. He sent over Dusknoir in exchange.
Unknown to anyone, a Galarian Slowbro and a Galarian Slowking have both arrived to Sinnoh by air and landed as a Dragonite has arrived. The Galarian Slowbro and Slowking decided to see what the occasion was. It turns out that it is some kind of festival about to occur. And will Sora and his friends attend? Just you wait and see.
