Chapter 514.
"Day 1: Eagles and Festival."
(Yellow Stone Peak Hotel.)
The sun shines onto the very same location, where the grand Bald Eagle Festival is being held, and now this is where it all goes down, this is where the contest begins once more for the Royal Woods Eagle champs, Lincoln and Jordan, along with the new players of the game.
Lincoln opens his eyes and he takes a look around and smiles, he's in the room of the hotel and sharing it with Ryan Rosato, who is sleeping with no blanket and on the wrong side of the bed.
Lincoln chuckles and goes to the kid. "Ryan, wake up man. The time is past 7 and we should get going now."
Ryan then moves around and turns over to not face Lincoln. "No, never…. Let me… Sleep forever."
Lincoln chuckles and then pokes his nose. "Dude, come on. We gotta get going now, the others are waiting and we need breakfast inside of us."
Ryan yawns and he slowly gets out of bed, but has his eyes closed. "But I don't wanna go to school."
Lincoln crosses his arms. "Ryan, its Sunday and spring break. Get back on your feet and wash up, we got a big day ahead of us, especially with the girls."
Ryan gets out of bed and he makes his way to the bathroom, while Lincoln goes out of the room and sees the girls and eagles in the living room of the hotel room and enjoying the breakfast brought to them.
"Hi Lincoln, good morning" replied Jordan, Luna, Angel, Gretchen and Hope.
(Jordan and Luna shared one room, while Angel, Hope and Gretchen shared another.)
Lincoln waves to them. "Morning girls." He grabs one of the breakfast bagels. "Anything new or anything in order? Because I wanna make sure nothing is out of place."
"Nothing out of place and everything is in order and we are locked and loaded for today and so are they." Jordan and the others look out the balcony and they see the rest of the eagles all eating some salmon that they all caught.
Lincoln smiles seeing this. "Well, this is gonna be something we're gonna be all excited for. I mean, Jordan and I know what to do, but this is the first time for you guys to come and show the rest of the country how skilled you guys are, even with the history that made you guys from the past."
Gretchen chuckles nervously. "Yeah, our history from the mean and rich girls of the past that kinda made us hated, but we've changed and we know the rest of the country will see it too."
"Possible for Leslie and her dumb friends are gonna be seeing us on TV performing?" asked Hope.
"Probably" replied Angel. "I mean, the one thing she must still be keeping track is the big contest is part of, and if she sees the rest of us on the contest, then she's so gonna lose her cool."
"And what the heck is she gonna even do about it?" asked Jordan. They all chuckle from this and know that Leslie is so gonna lose her cool.
Luna then looks to her phone and smiles at what she sees. "Dudes, messages from the folks back home." they all see the text messages and they are many. Ryan soon comes out feeling fresh and he joins in.
As they all begin to read them, they are unaware of the same eagle with the scar looking at them and it lands onto the balcony and interacts with the eagles and they know exactly who this Bald Eagle veteran is, Reaver.
(Later.)
As they go down from the elevator, they are spotted by some tourists and fans. "There they are."
They knew this would happen and there are a lot of folks coming. "Here we go." But then Apollo and Raptor get in the way, and so does Bullets and this startles the crowd and back up, then the guards of the hotel intervene and have the guests back off from them.
"Wow. Thanks guys" Lincoln pets the heads of the two large avian Pokémon, though some of the folks are fascinated and they begin to take some pictures of them.
Lincoln and the group all head out of the hotel and greet the staff and then they see Peter Harris with his large black GMC pick-up truck. He brought it with him to the place, just in case.
"Hey kids, ya'll ready for this thing?" He leans onto the truck but slips and falls. He then gets back up. "That was…. I didn't mean for that to happen. Sorry."
Jordan chuckles. "No worries, now let's go. The Bald Eagle Festival awaits and we wanna see it all, before we become part of the contest and all."
They all hop into the truck and drive off, but while they're on their way to the park, they do see the eagles from above, but something was odd. "Guys, I thought we had only 9 eagles with us, why are there 10?" asked Hope.
They all look up and see the eagles: Patriot, Valkyrie, Harrier, Nora, Artemis, Freya, Apollo, Raptor and Bullets, and then they spot an all too familiar bald eagle with a scar. "No way! Reaver!"
Luna smirks. "Which only means the cowboy man is here too, Steve Grey. This day just got a whole lot interesting people."
(Main entrance of Yellow Stone Park.)
The truck passes through the opened main gate and some folks walk in as well, and they greet the kids on the truck for they know who they are, they slow down the drive and some of the folks catch up to get the autographs from Lincoln and Jordan.
The fans are also surprised that the duo got three more players into the mix and one of them is Jordan's brother, and two former rich and mean girls and the folks even look up to see the rest of the eagles, from the ace duo to the three new contenders and some other eagles in the mix.
The fans of this event are gonna be having one heck of a show, but they don't know the other eagles.
After signing some autographs, they park the truck and make their way to the festival itself. The eagles come down and sit on their shoulders, though Apollo and Raptor walk with them to the festival.
"This is it, this is where I get to be part of the festival again and it might not be with my family, but this is so gonna be cool" said Angel with so much excitement inside of her.
"Easy there, Angel. Try not to overload or something, we all wanna see this first hand" said Hope. "And I wanna know how awesome the contests are and if they added some new challenges too."
"If they did, then lucky we got the new tricks up our sleeves to make the whole thing look good and possibly win it" said Gretchen. "But, I know it doesn't matter if we win or lose, what does matter is that we do our best and show them the next generation of eagles."
"True" replied Ryan. "I wanna try some of the rides and try some of the good food they have here."
"We are so gonna have one awesome time in this place, and some folks are already greeting us" said Luna. She pets the head of Bullets and then spots Reaver still in the air. 'Where the heck is his partner?'
"Yeah, we do not need too many folks crowding us in the hotel, but we understand why they'd wanna meet us here. This is the festival after all, and I guess we are famous since we won last year" said Lincoln. "Chances we're gonna have so much more attention…"
"So glad the rest of you kids could come and good to see some avian faces too." Lincoln, Jordan, Luna and Peter Harris know that voice and they turn around and see the man they knew from last year.
"Horace Steiner!"
Horace Steiner – the now 93-year old man with white hair and is wearing blue pants, a black t-shit and brown jacket that has the logo of an eagle. He also has glasses and is wearing a baseball cap with an eagle logo on it.
The elderly man goes over and salutes to them and they salute back. "Nice to see the two of you here, and your big sister and this outlaw as well."
Peter chuckles. "No outlaw's sir, just a man of the law and now a man of the front line outpost."
"Yeah, my son Michael told me that one" replied Horace. "I am impressed from the word I got from all of you going head on with the battle lines drawn and the many rude and mean people who all wanna hurt you, they have no respect and have no morale."
"We know sir and we can handle them, like we always have." Lincoln holds Jordan's hand. "Together."
Horace chuckles. "Yeah, that sure is something and I look forward to the new generations and…. What in the name of all things I have known are those?"
The man is referring to the two large eagles on foot. Jordan chuckles. "Yeah, there's so much we need to explain to you, and it's not something to believe."
Horace smirks and he goes over and pets Apollo, who accepts this. "Well, I got all day and I came here to be special guest commentator of the whole event too. Now we gotta wait for someone we know whose also gonna be here and we all know who that man is, right?"
They all look up and see Reaver flying around. "Yeah, where the heck is he anyway?" asked Peter.
"Where else would I be, cowboy?" They all turn around and see the Eagle, land onto the shoulder of the man they've all been waiting for.
Steve Grey – the 55-year old man with brown long hair and a goatee, and a cowboy hat, resides and born in the Appalachian wilds and the best dang eagle trainer and contender for a long time. Wearing a light brown shirt underneath the brown trench coat, and brown jeans with black combat boots and fingerless gloves.
He still has his necklace with the claw of the mountain lion, which symbolizes the unity and bond the man has with his feathered friend.
The man walks towards the kids and he shakes their hands. "Glad to see you kids back in action and ready for what comes to… What in the Sam hill from the North side are those?"
He's referring to the two large avian Pokémon on foot. "Yeah, we got a lot to talk about and we can do so as we hang out around the place and I am so loving the look of this festival already" said Lincoln.
They all look to the festival and it does look alive. "Dang right." Steve then sees the three new comers. "And I am impressed, we got ourselves some new blood to take flight and with some new partners in the tussle as well."
Hope, Ryan and Gretchen shake the man's hand. "We're honored to be here and compete sir" said Gretchen. "We have been training with the bald eagles and doing our hardest to see if they can learn some new tricks."
Ryan then asks. "Are you also gonna be part of this, sir?"
Steve nods. "I am, but as my last contest along with Reaver here." That was something they did not see coming.
"What? Are you sure?" asked Lincoln and Jordan with concern.
Steve Trevor chuckles. "Now hold on now there you two, don't go into the boat and act all worried and what not, Reaver and I have been in the game for 5 years in the winning streak and five is good enough for us. Win or lose, what matters is that we gave everyone one heck of a show, right partner?"
Reaver nods and the man pets his head. "Besides." Steve looks to the others. "The next generation sure is trust worthy and we know that you five can make this event just as good as anyone else who has been part of this for a long, long time."
They all felt touched and honored by the words of the veteran along with his Bald Eagle. Hope then raises her hand. "Anything you gotta ask, little lady?"
"Yeah, are there any new challenges in this event?"
"As a matter of fact there are" replied Steve Grey. "Come on, gang. Let me tell you all about it on the way, and you kids can tell us about what you guys have been doing."
"Starting with these two large fine feathered fellows." Horace pets the head of Raptor.
Then Angel smiles to Steve and offers him her Bald Eagle notebook. "Can I have your autograph sir?"
Steve Grey smirks. "Well, alright then." even Reaver signs the notebook and this makes the others chuckle at this, after all, Angel Carson is a fan of the Bald Eagle event.
But while they all go around and enjoy the festival, they are unaware of this kid wearing glasses, and has a buck tooth and an eagle on his shoulder, and he looks to the 13-year olds walking around and getting everyone's attention.
'Just you wait, when I show them what we can do, then we'll be the ones famous baby!'
Day 1 to the 3 day event of the Bald Eagles Festival.
