Chapter 519.
"Tomorrow is something else."
(Royal Woods Sports Stadium.)
March 26, and the RW Middle Eagles are now set and ready for what is to come and now they bear the uniform that they normally wear when they're locked and loaded for dodge ball and guess what? That comes the following day.
The team are all gathered: Simon, Stella, Gretchen, Trent, Lance, Artie, Mollie, Polly and Jenny, but they're not alone, they also have some new recruits: Hope, Ryan, Renee and Paige.
Then the team captains arrive, and even Coach Keck. "Alright everyone, now that you're all here, it's time to get this last session of dodge ball underway, and I know that each and every one of you have been training."
They all nod, and so Lincoln steps up. "Guys, we heard about the news that while the rest of us were away on the whole Bald Eagle contest, you guys were hard at work with dodge ball training and we're dang proud of you guys doing it, and we look forward to what you all can do when the game begins."
Jordan steps up next. "You guys are all truly formidable front line players and true sportsmanship athletes when it comes to this and…"
"Woohoo! Athletes!" They all look towards Lynn who is cheering by the bleachers, the rest of the family along with the Carson's look to her, and Lynn realizes this. "Sorry, sorry. Carry on."
Jordan sighs. "Anyway, I look forward to the new recruits on what they do, but as the new players, you guys know what that means, right?"
Hope, Ryan, Renee and Paige nod. Hope speaks for them. "We'll only be sent out when the necessary time has come, or when one of our players are injured and can't play anymore."
Paige then speaks. "Or when one of the players is cool with us taking the games and they need a break, then we can show what we can do for the first 3 days of spring break."
"And again, we are proud that Polly was coaching the new recruits for the whole thing" replied Lincoln. "Looks like we found our third captain for whenever Jordan and I are unable to act as the team captains."
Polly nods. "I did what I had to, because I saw potential within them when I saw them doing what they normally do on the daily basis, but we all know that Hope and Ryan are good at what they do after all they have been through and we know they got this when their first ever game begins."
They then begin the announcement. "Alright, so here's the issue, we're not going up against Beaverton as of last year, this is Hazeltucky and chances that they got some players who might be formidable and possibly over the top notch on their sports egos" said Jordan.
"You mean just like Lynn back when she always acted like a big sore loser and winner?" said Lola.
Knock it off!" yelled Lynn. "And I am done with those ways."
"Will you two shut it!" yelled Lori, and they all remain silent and look to the dodge ball team getting ready to practice.
Lincoln then looks to the team. "Alright guys, so the team we're gonna be up against are known as the Hazeltucky Hot shots and they have been practicing unlike the ones from Beaverton and the coach is someone Coach Keck doesn't know, and one thing we know, is that Hazeltucky can be quite competitive and don't like losing."
"Yet, they're haunted by the past stuff that their former residents and students Hank and Hawk, and wish not to make the same mistakes from before and hope that the next generation of their town doesn't follow that dark road" said Jordan.
"So, when the game starts tomorrow, we need to observe and see what the team is like and if they're good at sportsmanship or they're just as jerky and mean as they are in most of the sports they do" said Lincoln.
"Except Baseball" said Lance. "For some reason they don't seem too competitive and just wanna win."
"That's because they kept losing to us" replied Liam from the bleachers. "Also, because they know they don't stand much of the fair chance of winning whenever Lynn is on the diamond park."
Lynn chuckles. "Dang right."
Jordan looks to the team. "Alright so we got the word and info of the rival and now we can commence training. Are you all ready for this?"
They all nod, and have looks of determination. "Ready!"
"Good." Lincoln and Jordan join them and they get into positions and then Coach Keck gets something from the side of the bleachers and she places it on the other side of the stadium.
"Alright, so what happens next is gonna be hard to maneuver. This here is the dodge ball launcher mark 2, since mark 1 blew up and proved it needed some improvements over at Alabama."
They see the large machine, which kinda looks like what launchers tennis balls, but it has more than one cannon and the large basket of dodge balls in the back and a meter on the level of throwing speed and force. It also will deploy some dummies for them to hit, and the more they hit it, the slower the pace of the machine. Kinda like when the enemy team is losing team mates.
"You kids should be ready, because this is gonna be cranked to ace setting, and thank goodness we have first aid kits just in case one of you gets hurt and that's why he's here."
They all spot Jack Cyber sitting next to Michelle Lewis and the Carson's and he has a large Medical kit ready. "Locked, loaded and ready for what pain you guys endure."
They then look to Coach Keck. "Ready?" They all nod. "And, training time!"
Coach Keck turns on the machine and it begins to throw dodge balls, and the rest of the team begins to dodge and catch the balls and even throw them back to the machine, which takes hits on the target dummies, indicating it will slow down.
Lisa smirks to the machine they're up against. "That is truly fascinating and is something I did not see coming. How come I was never informed of this kind of sports training machine?"
Angel Carson looks it up. "Because this kind of training machine was first revealed during Sunday and they sent out ten of them for free use."
"And I got one of them." chuckled Coach Keck. "This thing didn't even cost me for purchase, but she does need some good maintenance."
Stella dodges and catches the ball. "Good thing the Tech club can help with that."
Lynn is impressed by this training sessions. "Dudes, they need to make one for the baseball team, like a special kind of training machine for the sports teams I'm in, they can be pretty useful to test the force of our throws and swings."
"Now that sounds like a dang good idea" said Liam. "Just gotta be sure not to bust up my arm again."
They all recall that one, and Lynn does not wanna make a repeat of the whole ordeal too. Jack Cyber chuckles. "So glad FutureTech made that kind of machine." The rest of the group watching looks to Jack Cyber. "What? The logo is right there, just really small for some weird reason."
(Later.)
They all continue to watch them play on and improve their skills and even the eagles watch this from the top of the sports stadium and they seem to be as good as the eagles do when they perform maneuvering tricks in the sky.
Angel smiles seeing this happen. "Tomorrow, we're all gonna be part of this and we're all gonna be seeing the team compete and possibly win."
Mark nods. "True, but we don't even know much about the opposing team, will they be sore losers and sore winners?"
"Let's hope not" said Leni. "The one thing we don't need are some more folks acting like those two stinkers, Hawk and Hank."
"At least Hank and Hawk are done with what they do, and now they wanna just try and forget about revenge and come clean" said Michelle. "I guess the many times of them trying to get revenge has made them see how much pain they get and how many times failure is on their side."
Lisa then straightens her glasses. "The sole reason is because of their alliance with the many other allies they have joined with, they cannot coordinate unless someone is there boss, but should they be left to do it on their own, then both need to figure out the plan."
"but, they don't think right and don't strategize in figuring out what we have in our resources and the one thing we always have are each other's backs, because thugs and bullies may seem cooperative with each other, but deep down, they know that the only person they can trust, are themselves."
"So true" replied Lincoln and Jordan as they slide past some incoming dodge balls and then catch the other incoming ones and then they throw it back to the dummy, and the machine stops.
Coach Keck claps. "Well done, team, well done. But, that was the first out of many sessions to deal with, we got a whole lot more. So, go ahead and take a break, while I get this big girl ready for the next round."
They all nod and head to the others and are handed bottles of water and some energy drinks.
They all begin to discuss about the next game which is tomorrow, but Zach in the audience is going through something in his notebook.
'Hmm, 43 years have passed and I did the rest of the calculations on the arrival or fly by after 4 months, 7 weeks and 11 days. This has to be true, and that means it's coming to fly by Royal Woods, and I'm gonna make sure the others also get to see it.'
Zach then looks to Lincoln and Jordan. 'Hmm, but maybe I should ask them first about this.'
Then he sees Jack Cyber contacting the rest of FutureTech in the other world. 'And ask him as well, I don't wanna make things a bit of a big mistake and have the rest of my friends be made fools. I'll ask them and maybe they can help me figure out if there really is a U.F.O fly by coming.'
To be continued…
A/N: Next chapter is gonna be the Dodge Ball game against Hazeltucky, and a closing in to one of the episode "Zach Attack." Leave a review and tell me what you all think.
