Spells and Louds.
Chapter 587: The Cow Pie Kid.
(Royal Woods Middle School.)
Lincoln and the gang are all gathered around their friend, Liam Lumpkin Honeycutt. "Wait what?!" they are all shocked at what he had told them.
"Dude, when the heck did this happen?" asked Rusty.
Liam then recalls. "I guess it all began after the birthday of Kick, but I thought some of you recalled me telling ya'll that one."
"Some of us did, but most of us wasn't there to hear it and now we need to know what the heck?!" said Stella.
"I had to go and do something else, but Linka and Jordan told me about the whole thing" replied Lincoln.
"You're part of the baseball team, the first of the new Middle School kids to be part of the baseball team" said Chad. "This is something we all cannot let go, we need to know how this all went down."
Liam then tells them. "Alright gang, so the whole ordeal began after that awesome birthday with Kick, and Lynn said that my arm is a good pitching arm and then she asked me if I wanted to be part of the Royal Woods baseball team, the Kangaroo's and so I couldn't let this opportunity down and so I went with it."
"And as some of you know, the day after we went to the farm after school and Lynn gave me some training and helped ace my throwing arm and in a matter of minutes, I am a dang good player in baseball and surely I can nail a strike against our next opponents and get them off the diamond park."
"Not the kind of diamond that…"
"We get it dudes, we just can't believe you became part of the Royal Woods baseball team" said Stella.
Tabby then hugs Liam. "Oh, my farm boy is gonna be a sports star! Well, baseball star and I can't wait for when you make it to the game and show us what you can do, luv."
Liam blushes. "Well, ya'll don't have to wait any longer, that game starts later after school."
They're all surprised from this. "Wait what?!"
Liam nods. "The game is us Kangaroo's against the…." Liam then tries to recall. "I don't think I recall Lynn telling me who we're up against."
But Polly knows. "The Detroit doggers, and we're proud of you for being part of the game and we know you're gonna win."
"We'll be rooting for you Liam!" said Clyde, then the bell rings. "But first, we should get to classes now." they all disperse and head down the halls to their first class. But all of them were looking forward to after classes.
Lincoln then has an idea and he sends a text message to Boomer, about a request and his airship.
(After classes.)
It is a lovely day for some baseball and of course, we got the baseball game all lined up and ready for one heck of a ball game folks!
Everyone cheers for the two teams, but the cheers seem quite lively with Royal Woods cheering for the new member of the Kangaroo's, Liam Lumpkin Honeycutt.
Liam on the other hand seems kinda nervous about this whole thing. He is glad to see his parents and also Arlo, and almost all of the farm animals cheering for him to win it for Royal Woods.
They even see Boomer's Super Kirov flying by and with a large screen to the side and the words have been made saying. "Go! Kangaroo's! Go Kangaroo's! Go Lizam!"
Everyone is confused by that name and Lincoln face palms. "Dang it Boomer!"
Linka is confused. "What the heck is Boomer doing? And what the heck is with the last name at the end of it?"
Jordan looks towards Lincoln. "Did you have something to do with this?"
Lincoln sighs. "That name was supposed to be Liam, that dork must've gotten the whole thing wrong."
Neil then asks. "I don't get it. How come Lynn isn't on the center and pitching? I thought she'd be the one to help win this for the team."
Lisa then explains. "Two games ago, she was banned for being to aggressive and inflicting a heavy damage to the rival team's mascot. But from further studies and observation, that goat had it coming for mocking Lynn and calling out pitcher."
"At least the goat dropped the charges" replied Lynn Sr nervously.
"I didn't think goats could sue folks" replied Luan. "But I guess he was in a bad goat-ing mood! Get it?" The others just groan at that really annoying pun and joke.
Liam sees the sign. "Now who in the dang sakes name is Lizam anyway?" Then Lynn goes to him.
"Alright Liam, you ready for your first ever baseball game, kid?"
"I'm actually feeling more nervous than a sheep being sheered and while having the hiccups, or when Arlo first came to our world." Liam scratches his arm and waves to those cheering at him, but he's still nervous.
"Liam, just remember what we practiced and you'll be fine" replied Lynn. She then ruffles his hat. "Don't think and just go with what your gut feels, got it?"
Liam fixes his hat. "I guess." Liam watches as Lynn gets back to her position. 'Alright Liam, don't think and just do, but keep focus and do not screw this up. Like tossing cow pies at folks, which I regret.'
"Play ball!" yelled the Umpire, and the game begins.
"Now pitching in for the kangaroo's is Liam Lumpkin Honeycutt. Word is that team captain Lynn Loud recruited this kid from a local birthday party after seeing what his arm can do and how well he plays, as well as spending some training time in the farm in chucking cow pies and horseshoes. Let's see how this kid does well with a baseball and let's hope that Lynn didn't choose wrongly."
Hearing that wasn't making things any better for Lynn. 'Dang. I hope I didn't make the wrong choice.'
Liam takes a deep breath and the pitch and the ball flies by the batter and is caught. "Strike one!" yelled the Umpire.
The crowd cheers and Liam smiles. He then catches the ball and he makes the next pitch. "Strike two!" Then he catches the ball and makes another wicked pitch.
"Strike three, you're out!" yelled the Umpire and so the batter from the opposing team goes back to his team.
Liam chuckles seeing what he just did. He even gets a thumbs up from Lynn. 'Looks like I did make the right call recruiting this kid.'
(9 rounds later.)
The crowd cheers as the score has been set and the Doggers haven't made a single hit and that means that Royal Woods Kangaroos have won!
"That Kangaroos have made their first win of the season and all thanks to Lynn Loud and her new ace, Liam Lumpkin Honeycutt. It was a glimmer of hope for this team!"
Leon then asks. "Hope? What is this? Star Wars?"
Hope Pertland then looks to the man. "Sir, my name is Hope." Lincoln and the others remain silent from this.
"Well, this got awkward real fast" replied Neil as he eats his popcorn.
(Later.)
The others all go over and congratulate Liam for helping them win the game and Lynn is proud for picking him, then she sees Lincoln walk towards him and Linka as well.
"Hey you two, so what did ya think?" asked Lynn.
"Well, I have to say that was a pretty smart move there LJ" replied Lincoln. "From what I know, well what we know, is that Liam does have a good arm when it comes to something like this."
"But you need to be cautious though" replied Linka. "Just know that Liam lives in the farm and he has a ton of chores to handle, one wrong move or too much training could harm him and make things worse for not just Liam, but for you too."
Lynn thinks about this. "Well, I guess that makes sense. But don't worry, I got this under control and I won't over-train Liam. I've learned my lessons from the past and I can manage keeping him balanced between his chores and the baseball game."
"I doubt he'll have many chores" replied Linka. They see Liam being hugged by his family. "Chances they'll wanna see their little baseball star play again."
Lincoln looks to Lynn. "Just don't overdo the whole thing, or it won't go well in the end. Also, when is the next game?"
"Guys, please. Don't worry, and the next game is gonna be on the 2nd of March and from what I know and have seen from the kid, he's got pone wicked arm and he can handle something like a baseball throw. He's got the ace in the hole with that throw and pitch" replied Lynn.
"What about being the batter?" asked Linka.
Lynn is about to reply, but then she realizes what she means. "You didn't know he can have a good swing?" asked Lincoln.
Lynn did not know that one. "Be right back!" Lynn then goes towards Liam and asks if he's got a mean swing with the bat.
Lincoln and Linka chuckle at this, but both are thinking of the same thing. 'Let's hope Lynn doesn't overdo this. Liam may be one good kid with the baseball game, but we don't wanna have him overwork his arm out. He may be a hard working kid, but even he has his limits.'
Lincoln seemed more worried. 'Don't screw this up, LJ.' Just then, he gets a text message from his other world counterpart.
Lincoln Loud – Hey commander, you think you can have some special troops come and help keep a close eye on the wedding that I'm a part of. The wedding is between Hugh and Dimartino and we don't want anything bad to happen, we could use some backup down here in our world.
This makes Lincoln smirk. 'Well, this sure sounds and looks familiar.' He then makes the text messages to some guys who could help keep an eye on the whole event.
To be continued…
