Epilogue

Eve's Addiction was anchored off the coast of Tortola. Eve was in her bikini sitting on the deck soaking up the last rays of the setting sun. They had spent the day snorkeling and walking on the palm shaded white sand beaches. It had been a perfect day. But then any day with Roman was perfect.

Eve looked down at the sparkling ring on her finger, and smiled. Today had been especially perfect when Roman had gotten down on one knee and proposed to her. Standing there in the shade of the palm tree, feeling the warm breeze blow through her hair, with Roman on one knee. It had been the most perfect moment. She could have almost sworn she heard Dallas' voice giving her his blessing. It had probably just been the wind, but she knew he would have approved.

Eve knew they were lucky. While the road to happiness had a few twists and turns, Eve as pretty sure it had been the right one. As much as they were different people than they were as kids, they were also the same. Eve knew they needed the journey they had taken in order to appreciate what they had. They had both lived and explored the world, which gave them the absolute knowledge that what they had was special.

She felt Roman slip in behind her and wrap his arms around her. She leaned back into him. "I love you Roman."

Eve felt his hand slip around her and rest on her abdomen. Eve smiled. She was pretty sure Roman already knew what she was about to tell him.

"I've always loved you." He said, as she felt Roman press light kisses on her neck and shoulder. He gently nipped the place where her neck and shoulder joined and she felt a bolt of desire race through her. Roman tugged at the string on the side of her bikini bottoms and she felt it give way.

People always said passion cooled over time or things got stale. She was pretty sure those people had never met Roman, because from what she could tell things just got better. Roman just got more creative with time, and things just got hotter.

"So" he whispered against her ear. "Are we practicing or is this a victory lap." She felt him smile.

"Definitely a victory lap. Leave it to you to get me knocked-up on damn near the first try, even at my so called advanced maternal age." Eve rolled her eyes and made a face.

Eve had asked Kate for a check-up after Roman got out of the hospital. Kate had gently told her that she was fast approaching what was considered advanced maternal age, and that if she and Roman were thinking about kids they shouldn't wait too long. She and Roman had agreed to just see what happened. No worries and no pressure. They were together and that was the most important thing.

"You were always a little bit of an overachiever." Eve chided.

Roman took her face and turned her to look at him. "We are having a baby?" His voice sounded a little strained.

"Yes." Roman looked like he might be in shock. "You want this right?"

Roman's eyes seemed to focus on her. "Yes, god yes. I just, I guess I thought, I mean." Roman stopped and they both laughed. Clearly Roman's verbal skills had not improved when it came to Eve.

"Sorry. I love you, and I love peanut." Roman said grinning at her.

"Peanut?" Eve eyed him suspiciously.

"Well yeah, you know its probably the size of a peanut about now." Roman shrugged helplessly.

"That is going to be the size of a watermelon."

"Yes, but watermelon doesn't have the same ring to it." Roman gave her a devilish grin.

Eve laughed. "Maybe you should just stick to the part you're already good at. Now back to that victory lap." Eve's voice was husky as she took his hand that was resting on her abdomen and pushed it lower.

"Oh, that I can definitely do." Roman breathed as he started kissing her and demonstrating his skills.
