I was watching the news in my living room with a cup of coffee. I'm still on edge from the events last night. Hopefully Elijah finds out something.

Knock!

I turned my head to the door hearing a knock. I walked over and opened the door. I furrowed my brows to see no one there.

"Surprise!" I nearly jumped out of my skin seeing Megan jump in view.

"Holy shit, Megan!" I said and held my hand on my chest.

"Sorry, Al. I couldn't help it. Caroline was telling me some pretty awful things about you." I let out a huff.

"Of course she has. I've seem to have lost every friend I did have after ruining the kill Mikael plan. Not to mention mating on Nik." Megan raised an eyebrow at that.

"They mentioned that too. Which is why I'm here. We need to go out for some drinks." Megan said matter of factly.

"Drinks? This early?" I asked, chuckling.

"It's never too early for two Werewolves that can't get drunk. Besides, I want to hear your side of the story. Elena and Caroline have told me enough about theirs." I let out a sigh.

"Let me finish my coffee and we'll go." Megan grinned.

"I'll wait for you by the car." I couldn't help but chuckle. Megan is always so bubbly. You'd never think she's a Werewolf.

"Wow. Now that I have your perspective. This sounds really messy." Megan stated as she took a sip of her drink.

I nodded my head in agreement and took a sip of scotch on rocks, "I mean. It's kind of hypocritical of Elena and the others. They're trying to kill Klaus because Stefan and Damon love Elena. You love Klaus and are trying to protect him from Stefan and Damon. I don't see the difference here." Megan answered honestly.

"Thank you! That's what I've been trying to say to all of them!" I exasperated.

"Then they all turn their backs on you? Since when is it wrong to fall in love with somebody? You know what. Screw them! Real friends wouldn't abandon you because of who you love. Real friends would still support you." I watched with wide eyes as Megan downed the rest of her drink.

She saw me staring, "What?"

"Who are you and what have you done with Megan?" I asked seriously.

She rolled her eyes and smacked my shoulder, "I'm allowed to get mad for my best friend." I couldn't help but chuckle.

Megan ordered another drink and my eyes caught Ric walking in with Dr. Fell. Ric saw me staring and caught my eye as well. They went by the bar, ordered some drinks then went by the pool table.

"What's wrong?" Megan asked, snapping me out of it.

"Nothing, speaking of ex-friends. Ric just showed up with his new girlfriend." Megan turned her head the opposite way.

She turned back to me, "He's dating Dr. Fell?" I nodded my head and finished my scotch.

"Bartender, can I get another one?" The bartender nodded and grabbed my glass.

"Drinking already, love?" Megan and I turned around to see Nik and Kol behind us.

"Don't look at me, " I said and pointed at Megan, "All her idea. She practically dragged me out of my house."

Nik turned to look at Megan, "Megan, correct? I never formally introduced myself."

"You don't have to. I already know all about you." Megan said and took a swig of her drink.

The bartender slid me my drink as Nik took a seat by me and Kol by Megan.

"What about you two, what's your excuse?" I asked as Nik ordered drinks from him and his brother.

"I needed to have a little bit of fun. So I had my big brother come with me." Kol answered.

"I'm Kol Mikaelson by the way." He said holding his hand out to Megan.

"Megan Frost." I rolled my eyes as Kol kissed the top of her hand in a greeting."

"So, Megan. How do you know Allye?" Kol asked, and leaned his cheek on his fist.

"I'm her Beta." She reiterated by having her eyes glow gold.

"Ah, should have known. Another wolf." Kol commented. The bartender slid them their drinks.

"Looks like you're the odd one out." I said as I took a drink. This earned a chuckle from Nik.

"Not true." Kol said, smirking.

I pointed my thumb to Nik, "He's half, so it's one and half vamp and two and half wolf. Majority rules."

"I'm in my own category, thank you." Nik commented, taking a swig from his own scotch. Megan and I laughed at that comment.

Hours had passed and the sun had already gone down. Between Nik and Kol's high alcohol tolerance and the fact Megan and I can't get drunk, it was something easy to do.

"So you two, physically cannot get drunk?" Kol asked intrigued.

"Nope, it just takes the edge off when we're angry." Megan answered.

"Or dulls the effect of the full moon." I added, taking another drink.

"Which is tonight. You've learned to control your shifts?" Nik asked, referencing to Megan.

Megan nodded her head, "I have, but this still helps with the surges." She said, holding up her drink.

Something caught Megan's attention behind her. I followed her gaze and saw Caroline walking up to us.

"What does she want?" Megan asked coldly.

"Easy, Meg." I said and stood up.

"What do you want, Caroline?" I asked as she stopped in front of me.

"Not everything revolves around you, Allye. I came here to have some fun myself, but I'll pass since I didn't know the Original groupie was here. And Megan, I thought you'd be better than her." Caroline fired at me.

I let out a low growl and stepped up to Caroline with my eyes glowing, "Watch what you say unless you want Tyler to come back to Mystic Falls single."

"You're all bark and no bite." Caroline turned on her heel and walked out.A snarl made past my lips and followed her outside.

"Ooh, I love a good cat fight." I heard Kol say.

"Stay inside, Kol." I heard Nik say.

I barged out the front door and looked around for Caroline but she already vanished. I balled my hands into fists as I felt my blood boil.

"Easy, love. A little too crowded right now." I heard Nik whisper in my ear. He gently grabbed my upper arm and led me across the street and away from the people gathered at the entrance of the Grill.

"What the hell is her problem?!" I sneered out as I paced back and forth.

"I don't know, but she clearly wanted to get a rise out of you." Nik said as he watched me pace.

"Well mission accomplished." I said and gripped my fists higher.

"Allye, stop it." Nik grabbed my wrist and lifted it up to see blood trailing down my hand. I opened my hand to reveal my claws were out and punctured my palm.

"It's fine. It's already healing." Nik opened his mouth to say something and he suddenly stumbled backwards. He gripped his chest out of pain.

"Nik? What's wrong?" I asked out of concern, forgetting my anger.

Whatever happened to Nik passed, he seemed just as confused as I did. A sudden look of realization hit his face.

"I know why Caroline got a rise out of you. She was a distraction."

My eyes widened, realizing we left Kol in there alone with Ric still in the bar.

"Kol." Was all I said and we headed back across the street.

Once we got close to the bar, the scents of Damon and Stefan hit my nose.

"Nik." I started.

"I know love, I can smell them too." Nik said, anger laced with his voice.

Nik vanished in front of me to get there first. I followed him to the back of the Grill. I got there in time to see Nik take the dagger out of Kol, knock Ric into a wall, and knock Stefan back before grabbing Damon by his jacket collar.

"I should have killed you months ago." Nik growled out.

"Do it. It's not going to stop Esther from killing you." Damon grunted out with a smirk.

"What was that?" I asked, walking down the stairs.

"You didn't know I was friends with your mummy? Yeah, we have a lot in common, She hates you as much as I do." Nik was about to plunge his hand into his chest, "Leave him!" Nik stopped and we both looked to see Elijah at the top of the stairs.

His skin was slowly going from grey back to its natural color, "We still need them, Niklaus." Elijah stated.

"What did mother do? What did she do, Elijah?" Nik asked, letting go of Damon.

Elijah ignored his brother and walked down the steps to Damon, "You tell me where the witches are or I'll have my sister kill Elena right now."

Damon looked up at the clock, "You told me we had until after nine."

"I'm sure Rebekah will be more than happy to start her work early." Elijah said and held up his cell phone.

Damon and Stefan looked at each other, "They're at the old witches house."

"Well then, you better get to it then." The two of them then vanish.

Kol let out a gasp as he woke up, "Perfect timing, Kol. We need to stop mother." Elijah claimed.

"What is going on?" Nik asked again.

"I'll fill you all in as we walk."

So my instincts from last night were right after all. Esther had linked all her children with the toast at the ball. Finn was going to die and take his siblings with him.

I walked alongside Nik, Elijah and Kol to the old witches house. At the clearing we could see torches burning and a pentagram made out of salt. Finn and Esther were there and so was Bonnie and her mother.

"They're coming, mother!" I could hear Finn yell.

"No, it's too soon, the moon is not high enough. Go! Quickly!" Esther ushered the two Bennett witches into the house.

"My sons, come forward." Esther beckoned as we got closed to them.

"Stay beside me, mother." Esther walked into the pentagram and stood next to Finn.

"It's okay. They can't enter." Kol walked up to the circle but the flames from the torches burned bigger. Stopping his advance.

"That's lovely. We're stuck out here, while the favorite son plays sacrificial lamb. How pathetic you are, Finn." Kol spat out.

"Be quiet, Kol. Your brother knows virtue you cannot even imagine." Esther scolded.

"You're killing your own children! What kind of a mother does that?" I spat back at her.

"A mother that should have let her children die a thousand years ago." Esther stated.

"Enough. All this talk is boring me. End this now, mother, or I'll send you back to hell." Nik threatened.

"For a thousand years, I've been forced to watch you. Felt the pain of every victim, suffered while you shed blood. Even you, Elijah, with your claim of nobility, you're no better. All of you. You're a curse on this earth. Stretched out over generations. If you've come to plead for your life, I'm sorry, you've wasted your time." Esther declared.

"And whose fault is that? It was yours and Mikael's plan to begin with. They didn't ask for this! It was forced on them! They had no choice but to survive! This is only happening because you failed as a mother!" I yelled, rage building inside.

"You foolish, child. You don't know what you speak of."

"Maybe not, but what I can tell you is that my mother would have killed herself before even thinking of killing her own children. Mother's are meant to love and nurture their children, not to conspire against their backs to kill them and call them monsters!" I could feel anger radiate off of Esther. My words stung her, that's for sure.

Esther's anger vanished as she looked up in the sky, "No! Sisters! Do not abandon me!"

"Mother!" Finn yelled.

The fires flared up causing us to shield ourselves. I felt Nik shield me behind him as the flames raged. The flames died down to reveal Finn and Esther were gone.

I felt the wind rush past me and when I looked behind, Kol was gone.

"I need to call Rebekah." Elijah said as he walked off, taking his phone out.

"I'm gonna head home." I said turning my back to Nik.

"Good night, love." I heard him say.

"Night."

I bit my thumb as I shook my leg. My eyes were fixated on an old VHS tape on my coffee table. I let out a sigh and got up to grab the VHS tape. I put it in the old VCR player that I had just connected to the tv. I held my breath and pressed play. I went back to the couch and sat down.

A home video began to play and the first shot was my dad's face as he was figuring out the camera. I remember this. My parents had just bought a brand new camera and my dad couldn't figure it out. He ended up recording the entire tape with it muted and it wasn't recording audio.

I heard my phone's ringtone go off. I paused the VCR and picked up my phone from the coffee table. Nik's name appeared on the caller ID.

"Hey, how are you doing?" I asked

"Could be better. Are you at home?"

"Yeah."

"Good." I nearly jumped out of my skin hearing Nik's voice now behind me.

"How many times have I said not to do that!?" I yelled and threw the throw pillow at him. Nik put his arm up to deflect the pillow that was aimed for his face.

"Sorry, love. Needed to have some fun." He hung up his phone and came around to sit on the couch.

"I do need to talk to you." He said as he sat down.

"Continue while I put my heart back in my chest." I exaggerated.

"Rebekah found something when she was down in the caves. She found writings from a native tribe that tells our story." I nodded.

"Yeah, I was there when we first discovered it. That's how we found out about your family's story."

"Well, you didn't translate the whole story. A white oak tree sapling grew in the place of the one that burned 300 years after me and my family escaped to the old world." My heart sank hearing those words.

"Which means the weapon that can kill you is out there somewhere." Nik nodded, "And you're still all linked. The cards are not in our favor here." I stated.

"Rebekah and I already have a plan. She is going to find out where the white oak could be. I will be handling getting us unlinked. Everything will be fine, love." Nik assured me. He then turned his attention to the tv and looked at me.

"What are you watching?" He asked, confused.

"It's an old home video my family made when we use to come here every summer." Nik seemed intrigued by this and grinned.

"How old are you in this?" He asked curiously.

"Uh...eight or nine I think?" Nik proceeded put his feet on the table.

"Then I think I'll watch with you." I just shook my head and hit play on the VCR.

"No sound?" Nik asked, chuckling.

"It was a new camera my parents just bought. My dad didn't know there was a mute button for audio recording. It's part of the charm of old home videos." I curled up against Nik's chest and he put his arm around me.

"I don't think you've ever told me your parents' names?" He guessed.

I shook my head, "No, I didn't. My dad," I said pointing to my dad on the screen, "was named Gaven. My mom was named Talia." My mom's face flashed on screen. She was currently setting up food on a picnic table with my dad recording her.

Nik glanced at me, now realizing why I was doing this, "Is this because of what happened tonight?" He asked softly.

I swallowed thickly, "Yeah, it huh...made me miss my own mother. I lost her at twelve years old. It's a crucial point in life for a girl to lose her mother. She was the most respected Alpha with all the packs in California. She believed to avoid unnecessary violence but was all for Werewolves defending themselves against the hunters. She was so kind, compassionate, caring, and loved her kids to the moon and back. She was the best mother I could ask for." I felt tears well up in my eyes, thinking about her.

"She sounds like she was an amazing woman. She would be proud of what you've become." Tears silently fell down my cheeks.

I did nothing as Nik pulled me fully against him. He stroked my hair and held me tightly against him.

"You're all right, love. I've got you." He whispered. I've never shown this vulnerable side of me to anyone except Laura. She was the only one I would break down crying in front of.

I was currently at my weakest point. I balled Nik's shirt in my hands as more tears fell. I cried until my eyes slowly closed and I felt myself fall asleep.

No One's P.O.V

Klaus felt his mates grip on him completely relax. He heard the sound of her even heart beat and her rhythmic breathing. She had cried herself to sleep. Klaus gently put one arm under her legs and lifted her up as he stood up effortlessly.

He carried her up the stairs slowly as to not wanting to wake her up. He walked into her bedroom and laid her down on her bed. He sat down at the edge of the bed and moved her dark bangs behind her ear.

He couldn't help but feel happy that his mate felt so comfortable around him to show herself at her most vulnerable. It meant she trusted him. Klaus thought back to Elijah's words to him after the ball.

Flashback

Klaus walked into his art studio, changed into more casual clothes after dropping Allye off at home. He wanted to sketch her on how she appeared at the ball.

"Niklaus." Klaus turned his attention to Elijah who had entered the room. He too changed into more casual clothing.

"Elijah, what do I owe for the pleasure of your company?" Klaus said as he picked up his sketchbook and charcoal pencil.

"I was observant of you and Allye this evening." Elijah started.

"And?" Klaus urged him to continue as he took a seat on the chaise.

"You truly love her, don't you brother?"

"I do, and your point being, brother?" Klaus fired back.

Elijah smiled and shrugged, "That you've changed, Niklaus. You may not notice it, but we as your siblings have. Mother has even noticed. Allye has done nothing but brought the best out of you and has made you truly happy. As your brother, that's all I could ask for. I'll leave you to your drawings. Good night, brother."

End of Flashback

"You truly are special, my little wolf." Klaus whispered. He kissed her forehead and left the bedroom and quietly closed the bedroom door. He didn't have a chance to tell her his plans for the morning. He would have to call her instead.

Allye is showing that she is comfortable enough to show her most vulnerable side to Klaus now. Klaus has also changed since their relationship. Elijah has taken notice and so has the rest of the Mikaelson family.
