As Ash and Hilda were having their Pokémon battle, Delia and Hilary had come back from their coffee meet and were now back inside the lobby. The first thing they noticed though was that they were the only ones present at the moment.
"That's weird. Where did everybody go?" Delia asked, scanning the area,
Hilary thought for a moment. "You know, I bet everyone is out behind the lab. I know that there's supposed to be a battlefield there. Let's look."
So with that, Delia and Hilary ventured out to behind the lab. When they arrived, they saw that everyone was indeed there, with Ash and Hilda engaged in battle. The two ladies exchanged greetings with Hilbert and the professors before joining them in watching the trainers duke it out.
Delia looked on as Ash called out his next attack. Although this was his first battle, and that there wasn't really that much action, she could tell that he was giving it his all. It was evident that Ash was truly dedicated to his goals. Not to mention that he seemed to be having a lot of fun, but that was to be expected since he was battling against Hilda, his childhood bestie.
Likewise, Hilary had her eyes glued to her daughter and her Pokémon. She could see the light in Hilda's grayish-blue eyes. Hilda was really looking forward to finally being allowed out into the world. Hilary was still worried for her, but she was happy for her all the same. Hilary also was aware about how much fun Hilda appeared to be having, but since she was battling against her childhood bestie, Ash, that was to be expected.
