An explosion of light took me off my feet and slammed me back first into the wall. I landed on my hands and knees as I looked up, braided white hair with gold ornamentation, gold eyes, blue robes under a white over robe with red and gold trimmings. But his face had scarlet tattoos that framed his eyes. In his arms he held the wounded Sally.

"My comrade Sally... how could they..." He said as golden light shrouded them. "Light Healing Magic: Healing ray of Hope."

"Master... she is a Pureblood... they weren't all gone as you feared... there is still hope. You can show her. I know you can." She rambled as his surprised eyes turned to me.

"A Pureblood. I never would have guessed that is what you were." He looked me up and down... then to Asta. "Those Grimoires... how is it that they resurfaced now, and to a Pureblood and a filthy Human?"

Chapter 32: The Mighty

I gripped the leather wrapped hilt, dragging my feet as I stood up. Blood dripped from my face to the ground. My eyes locked on his Grimoire. 'Four leaf... just like Yuno. Damn it. So this is the Master?' I clenched my jaw. "I'm surprised you would show yourself now. So you are the Leader of the Eye of the Midnight Sun." Asta and I readied our blades. "Perfect, means I can put an end to your terror now."

"She seems to lack any knowledge of her and your peoples history Master." Sally said as she stood behind him in ruined robes. "Please, we have to study her. I promise I'll be gentle with her."

"Sally. I want you to go back to base where you can fully recover." The Master looked to the lined face man and nodded. The starry spatial magic swallowed Sally for a moment. "You have been hurt enough."

'Damn it she was sent away. And I'm running low on magic power, I don't know how much longer I can keep up the fight. I have to stall and hope that there are more coming.' "Why are you people hurting innocent children? Why did you have to drag them into?"

"They are humans, beneath our races child. They are just as guilty as the nobles and magic knights. That boy uses a stolen Grimoire so even if he lacks magic himself he is still guilty as well. The weak were the villains, they suffered from jealously, envy and fear. They should bow at our feet and treat us as gods. They stole from the strong." He held out his hand. "Please, I wish to show you the light, for you too see what it means to me that you exist. A Pureblood hasn't been seen in eight centuries, we thought your kind had been wiped out in a war so long ago. Helen I am Licht, you have to see that I only wish to help people like you. I'm sure you were hated, feared and pushed away for your talent, that there are those who saw you as a animal."

I clenched my sword. "You don't know a damn thing about me 'Licht'. I don't care what others think of me."

"But you do, Sally told me how you reacted after your tail was revealed at the Final Selection, that you were nervous, that you were worried that because of it you wouldn't be given a place among the magic knights. You can lie to me, but you can't lie to yourself. With us you won't have to fear that, we will accept and love you for who you are. A family."

"SHUT UP! HELEN ALREADY HAS A FAMILY AND I'M RIGHT HERE! IF CARED SO MUCH THEN WHERE WERE YOU THE LAST TEN YEARS?!" Asta shouted. "Helen isn't one of you, she is a Magic Knight. We did everything together, and if anyone had a issue with her they had to go through me! And if you want her, then you'll have to step over my dead body!" Asta charged him swinging his blades, but there was a flash of light and a light blade impaled his leg and arm.

"ASTA!" I rushed forward, lashing out with my flaming weapon, but a ray of light hit me in the chest and threw me off my feet. I landed in a heap as the man approached my brother. Asta swung at him, but it was like the man phased around the strike. He was too fast. "MOVE!" I got on my knees and pulled my head back "ELEMENTAL ENCHANTMENT: LIGHTNING EMPEROR DRAGON ROAR!" I felt my throat dry up as I drew out every last drop of my mana into the enchantment. Asta dodged out of the way rolling on the ground. I opened my mouth unleashing the magic in a massive explosion of deafening lightning that made the entire cave system quake.

Licht threw up a hand and blocked the attack with a barrier of light. I forced my self to get on one knee, then standing as the spell tore apart my throat and lungs in the continuous attack, blood rolling out of my mouth and a burning sensation on my throat as I smelled burning flesh. I took one step towards him as boulders fell from the ceiling, then a second and a third.

"Enough." Licht said as he pushed his hand forward, the light shield destroying my attack and slamming me into a wall. I fell to my side as I looked up, cracks running across the ceiling. A shadow fell over me, I tilted my head back to see Asta standing over me, and Sister Theresa using her magic on me, I couldn't hear what they were saying through the ringing in my ears. I coughed up globs of blood as candles floated around my body.

I watched out of the corner of my eye as Asta fought Licht and the Spatial magic user on his own, pushed forward in his rage.

I took in shallow breaths as the nun used her magic to fix my throat and lungs. I pushed my self up to a sitting position. "I can't... I have to..." I clutched my head in pain as I looked at the destroyed cave. My vision flickering between what I saw and... palace?

I blinked and I wasn't in the cave anymore. I stood in in a empty Palace unlike any I had seen before. Something about it was distinctly alien... yet familiar... I walked and spun around in a few circles.

"Are you done playing?" I froze at those harsh words. I looked towards a throne and sitting on the steps was... me? "Are you done playing with our body?" I wore a bright red breast plate with white shoulder pauldrons and core, on the waist was a battle skirt made with over lapping plates and leather. White trimmed bracers with the same symbol as my Grimoire and knee high boots that had the same white trim, but the main color was a onyx black. Over my shoulders was red cape that was held onto the armor with pins made of ivory and ruby. A large ruby and ivory necklace hung from my doubles neck.

"O-our body?" I asked myself, "Who are you?"

"I'm who we were meant to be idiot. I am you and you are me." She stood up. "A warrior. Not some emotional little girl."

"Little girl!? I have been fighting for my life!" I shouted at her, but she slapped me, I fell to the ground as she placed a knee on my chest.

"You aren't worthy to be in control of us, but I'm locked deep in here. I grew up, trapped here. Unable to reach out. But now... we are starting to remember. And you are starting to hear me. Helen... we are Kamla." She grabbed me by the hair and punched my in the face breaking my nose. "You are too weak. Too inexperienced. You don't deserve to have any power."

I tried to push her off, but she grabbed my neck. I clawed at her hand as I gasped for air. "I'm not some second personality, that is what you are. And I want my body back."

"Fu-Full B-Bo-BODY ENCHANTMENT: WATER SPIRIT!" My body turned to water and her hand passed through me. I thrust my hand up grabbing her face making her choke as I forced my hand down her throat and nostrils. She flailed wildly as she fired off energy blast drowning on my magically changed body. I slung my arm around, using a grip inside her lungs to thro w her into the stairs creating a crater.

She stood up hacking up water and blood. "So you do have some fangs." She smirked. "Give that bastard hell."

I shot up as massive amounts of energy rushed through my body. But it was under my control. I looked over at Asta, but standing there was Yami, Finral and Asta, fighting Licht and his ally.

"Helen you should get..." Sister Theresa said before I rushed back into battle. Purple energy swirled around me as I slammed a fist into Licht's face. He flew into the far wall.

"Helen!" Asta smiled. I looked at him. Tears in my eyes. "Helen?"

"I-I remember."

Oh no.
