To tell you the truth, I'm not completely satisfied with this chapter. I apologize in advance if this sucks.
Ellie Bishop: Yep. Oh tell me about it. While I thought Oliver as Spectre was awesome, the writers really didn't good explanation as to why Oliver was chosen. Yeah, Oliver's the only one who can rally make the hard cal. Completely agree about Kara. While I think you're being too harsh on Barry just a little, I do agree he probably wouldn't be able to make the same choice as Oliver. Yeah, I thought that scene with Robert was a nice full circle moment.
Guest 2.0: Huh, guess I did.
Guest 1: Honestly, the talk really won't be shown. I really don't intend to return to this universe once this is finished up. Sorry.
Guest 2: Thank you for pointing that out to me, I have since fixed it.
Camp Half-Blood
"So uh, how long is this gonna take?" Jefferson asked as they stared at the green light that surrounded Oliver. "Because it's been over ten minutes."
"Oliver Queen is being changed from a mortal into a god, his very being transformed. It will take some time," Novu told him.
"Something which you have none of."
Startled, the group whirled around. Standing before them was a dark haired man with a beard, matching dark eyes that seemed to stare into their very souls. But it was the scythe in his hands that made Percy, Annabeth, Thalia and Nico pale.
"Kronos," Percy breathed as Kronos smirked.
"Percy Jackson. We finally meet face to face," Kronos acknowledged smugly.
"Murderer!"
Enraged, Kara flew towards him but Kronos simply waved his scythe. Kara was shoved back by an invisible force, crashing into a tree. Jefferson's hand surged with electricity and J'onn and Clark began flying towards Kronos, hands extended in fists as the others began drawing their weapons. However, it all seemed to be moving in slow motion, as though it were being played frame by frame.
Novu was the only one unaffected. As Kronos began making his way towards him, Novu brought his hands together and an orange beam of energy shot out towards Kronos. However, Kronos merely cut threw it with his scythe.
"You may be worlds above these mortals, but you are little more than an ant under my boot," Kronos said smugly as he approached Novu, who was having increasing trouble holding him back. "It was foolish of you to stand against me."
"No. The only foolish thing is that I did not intervene when you first approached Luke Castellan," Novu grunted, using the last of his power to try and hold Kronos back.
But it was futile. Kronos easily cut through Novu's energy and struck him in the chest. Novu gasped, the scythe glowing as it absorbed his energy.
"Barry Allen may have destroyed the device Thawne built, but there's more than one way to turn back time. I just need more power. Thank you for supplying it," Kronos said with a wicked laugh.
Kronos' effect on the heroes wore off, but it was too late. Kronos pulled his scythe out of Novu's chest and he fell to his knees.
"They will stop you," Novu said weakly before his body disappeared, small orange balls floating up into the sky before they vanished.
"Pathetic," Kronos scoffed.
"It's done."
At the sound of Corrigan's voice, everyone looked as the green light faded. Oliver stood before them, changed. While before he had worn his Green Arrow suit, now he wore a suit similar to the suit he had first worn upon returning to Starling City, with some differences. Gone were the hood and quiver strapped to his back, and a green cloak was draped over his shoulders. He held al-Fatih's sword in his hand as he stared at Kronos, his eyes flashing with the power of a god.
"Welcome, son of Artemis. Congratulations on sheading your mortal coil, but it's too late," Kronos said gleefully.
Kronos taped the blunt edge of his scythe on the ground and something began to happen. His body glowed as wild winds began blowing around them.
"What's happening?!" Thalia shouted over the roaring winds.
"He's turning back time," Patty realized in horror.
And then, something else happened. Everyone felt like they were hit by something, but it wasn't something that hurt them. It felt like electricity hit them, super charging them. And the windows stopped. No, not stopped, paused. They still could still see the winds, but it was like they were frozen in time.
"Um, what just happened?" Percy asked confused.
"I have to agree, I'm a little lost myself," Clark said.
"We're moving at super speed."
At the sound of the voice, everyone whirled around in shock. Barry stood a few feet from them, dressed in his suit. Just behind him was Luke, glaring at Kronos with a dark, grim look on his face.
"Barry?" Oliver breathed, the glow fading from his eyes as they all stared at him in shock.
"Yeah, it's me," Barry said with a nod.
"You died man," Jefferson said in shock.
"He would have, had I not pulled him into the Speed Force," Luke said, pulling his attention away from Kronos to address the heroes. "Barry has been there for the last few weeks."
"Weeks? It's been hours," Kara said in shock.
"Time works differently there. We-"
Barry was cut off as Patty tackled him, pulling him into a desperate kiss. Those who didn't know of Barry and Patty's past watched in surprised as Barry returned her advances, kissing her passionately before pulling back.
"As much as I'd like to continue, we don't have much time," Barry aid breathlessly. "I can't hold this much longer."
"I'm sorry; would someone like to explain what's going on?" Clark asked confused.
"This is Flashtime, we're moving at super speed," Annabeth realized and Barry nodded.
"Flashtime to its maximum potential. I can spread Speed Force energy within a two mile radius. But that's not important now, we have stop Kronos," Barry said.
"You know what he's planning," Diana realized and Barry nodded.
"Kronos plans to stop Rhea's deception," Barry explained and Diana, Percy, Annabeth, Thalia, Patty and Nico's eyes widened in horror.
"Um, for those of us a little new at this?" Jefferson asked, lost.
"Before the time of the gods, Kronos ruled the earth with the rest of the Titans. He was told by an Oracle that one of his children, the gods, would rise up and dethrone him. In order to prevent the prophecy, Kronos ate his first five children, Hades, Poseidon, Hera, Hestia and Demeter. But his wife, Rhea, couldn't bear it anymore. So when their sixth child, Zeus, was born, she gave Kronos a rock instead and had Zeus sent into hiding," Annabeth explained.
"When Zeus grew up, he defeated Kronos, freed the other gods from his stomach, and chopped Kronos into pieces before throwing him into Tartarus," Percy added.
"And now, Kronos wants to turn back time to that moment when he was given a rock so that he can stop it all rom happening, rule earth for all eternity," Barry explained.
"And since the war between the Titans and gods is what caused the earth to split into multiple earths, there would be multiverse, no other planets. It would like if we all never existed," Luke continued as everyone looked horrified.
"Great Hera," Diana muttered.
"I think that describes how we're all feeling Diana," J'onn said grimly.
"So let's kill him, while we have the chance," Jefferson said, his hands flashing with lightning.
"It's not that simple. I can hold this for much longer and you wouldn't get very far. We have to be smart about this," Barry said as they all looked at him. "Our best chance is to follow him back in time."
"How do we do that? You can travel though time, but if Kronos is turning it back…" J'onn trailed off.
"By using me," Luke said as they all turned to him. "By using myself as a conduit for Barry's powers, I can send you back with Kronos. Then you can fight him then and there."
"But while most of us will be going to fight Kronos, a small group will be going back to Camp Half-Hood, eight years earlier," Barry explained, confusing them all.
"Why?" Nico asked.
"Yeah, what's the point if Kronos is turning back time?" Kara asked.
"Because Kronos is going back from this point on. By placing you eight years beforehand, whatever changes Kronos makes won't affect you," Barry explained.
"And you're going back because of me," Luke said as those who didn't know his history looked at him confused. "Eight years ago, I was…in a bad place. I was angry with my father and the other gods. Kronos picked up on that and manipulated me into helping his rise. Everything that's happening, everything that has happened, it's all because I helped him rise. If the main group can't stop Kronos, the other group needs to stop me, by whatever means necessary."
"Luke…" Annabeth breathed, she and Thalia looking gutted as they realized what he meant.
"I did this Annabeth. So many people, countless people, have died because of my mistakes. Almost everyone here has suffered because of what I've done. If my death is the only way to fix it, then so be it," Luke said passionately.
"Luke, there has to be a way to stop you from joining Kronos without killing you," Percy tried to reason.
"I'll go," Annabeth said and Luke raised an eyebrow. "I'll go back, tell you what happens if you join Kronos. I can stop you."
"I'd like to believe that Annabeth, but I know how bitter I was back then. I'm not sure it'll work," Luke said doubtfully.
"It's worth a try," Annabeth insisted.
"I'll go with her," Nico said and everyone turned to him. "If we're going back to before the gods ruled, my powers will be pretty useless. And If Annabeth fails…she shouldn't have to bear what happens. I'll do what needs to be done."
"I'm not sure you can stop me Nico," Luke said.
"Not alone he can't, but maybe with my help he can," Patty spoke up as she stepped forward. "The three of us will go. I'll help Annabeth try to talk some sense into you. And if that fails, I'll help Nico take you down."
"It's the best option we have right now," Oliver said, seeing the logic in it. "The rest of us will go back to stop Kronos."
"So, we're really doing this? Going back in time to fight the biggest bad guy there ever was?" Jefferson said uncertain.
"I know it's a lot to ask. I don't have all the answers. I just have trust. Do you trust me?" Barry asked, looking around at all of them until his gaze landed on Oliver.
"Are you Barry Allen?" Oliver asked after a moment.
"Yes," Barry said with a slight smile.
"Then I trust you with every fiber of my being," Oliver said without any doubt.
Oliver's declaration seemed to sway any doubts the other seemed to have. After a moment, Barry looked over at Luke.
"Do it," he said simply.
Luke nodded, lifting his hand, which glowed brightly.
"Whatever happens, stop Kronos," Luke said.
Then the heroes were blinded by a bright light which blinded all of them.
When it faded, only Annabeth, Patty and Nico remained. Kronos, Luke and the other heroes were gone.
"Did it work?" Nico asked.
"Yes," Patty said, looking about five feet to Annabeth's left.
Nico and Annabeth turned around, seeing what had her attention.
Luke had entered the forest, but it was not the Luke they knew. He appeared a few years younger, maybe eighteen at the most. He was dressed in a Camp T-shirt with ripped jeans. But it was the deep seated anger that burned in his eyes that was the most startling change. There was little doubt that this was Luke just before he'd sworn his allegiance to Kronos.
"Luke," Annabeth called out.
He looked towards her, clearly startled by the sounds of her voice.
"Who are you?" he asked before catching sight of Patty. "Patty? What happened to you?"
"It's a long story Luke. But you need to listen to us," Patty said, wondering how she was going to break the news to him.
The time before the gods
Oliver, Barry, Percy, Clark, Diana, Thalia, J'onn, Kara and Jefferson appeared in a flash of light. After a moment of stumbling, they each looked around, taking it all in.
"So this is the time before the gods," Thalia muttered.
It was…depressing, to say the least. They were standing in what appeared as a barren wasteland, save for some rock formations. It wasn't any wonder that the gods had chosen to build something as grand as Olympus.
"So where's Kronos?" Kara asked.
"He'll be around here somewhere. We traveled back with Kronos, so he can't be far," Barry assured her.
"I think the bigger question is how do we stop him? I mean, he's a Titan. It's gonna be a challenge even with a god on our side," Percy said as he looked over at Oliver.
"You cannot."
At the sound of the booming voice, the heroes looked up. Standing atop a rock formation was Kronos. He was now dressed in armor, holding scythe n one hand.
"I underestimated you heroes. But it matters not, you will not stop me," Kronos said with an inhuman smirk.
"You sure about that? Because there are nine of us and only one of you!" Thalia said hotly.
"Only a fool doesn't have a backup plan. While I am fully capable of dealing with all of you myself, I have more important things to do. So I've left my general to deal with you," Kronos said.
Percy and Thalia paled as a dark haired man in Greek armor emerged, a javelin in hand.
"Atlas," Percy said disdainfully as Atlas smirked.
"You know this guy?" Jefferson asked.
"He's Kronos' general, he led Kronos' army during the first Tian war," Thalia said as she gripped her bow tightly.
"Yes. And now he serves me again by ensuring my plan succeeds," Kronos said before looking at Atlas. "Don't fail me."
"Never my lord," Atlas vowed.
As Kronos left, Atlas jumped off the rock formation, landing a few feet from the heroes with a smirk.
"So what' the plan Oliver?" Percy asked.
"Why are you all looking at me?" Oliver asked as he noticed everyone waiting for his orders.
"Well, according to the Monitor, you'll be the one to stop Kronos. Seems like we should all be following you," Clark pointed out and Oliver was annoyed but put it aside for now.
"Well somehow, we need to get passed him and get to Kronos," Oliver said. "Preferably before he eats Zeus."
"I can get you to him but I'm gonna you guys to cover me," Barry said as he looked at the others. "We've got one shot at this. Can you stall him?"
"You get to Kronos, we'll handle him," J'onn promised, his eyes flashing red as he assumed his Martian form.
"We got you back," Clark agreed, tightening his hands into fists as he glared at Atlas.
"Let's do this," Kara said as they all readied themselves.
Barry quickly grabbed Oliver and sped after Kronos. Before Atlas could even attempt to go after them, the remaining heroes attacked. Clark and Kara shot their heat vision at him, Jefferson and Thalia shot out streams of electricity while Percy, Diana and J'onn rushed him.
A few miles away, Kronos was making his towards his home, towards Rhea before she could fool his past self when suddenly; Barry and Oliver were standing before him.
"You're not going anyway," Barry said and Kronos only laughed.
"Impressive that you have come this far but it is too late. After thousands of years, I shall finally be victorious," Kronos said smugly.
"No, you won't be," Oliver said confidently and Kronos raised an eyebrow.
"So certain are you that Novu prepared you for this fight?"
"I think my entire life has prepared me for this fight," Oliver said bluntly.
"We shall see," Kronos said with a smirk.
Barry and Oliver then rushed the Titan Lord as he brought up his scythe, beginning a fight to determine the fate of all life.
Camp Half-Blood, 2011
"So, you're from eight years in the future?" Luke asked skeptically as he stared at Annabeth, Patty and Nico.
"We live in a world full of gods and monsters, but this you have a hard time with?" Nico asked dryly.
"Okay, fair point," Luke acknowledged after a moment.
"Luke," Annabeth pulled out her knife and Luke's eyes widened as he saw this. "You gave me this knife the day we met. You promised me we would always be family. I need you to remember that poise now and believe me when I tell you that cannot join Kronos."
"Annabeth…it's not that simple," Luke said with a sigh.
"No, it is. If you join Kronos, not only will it damn you to a fate far worse than death, it will cause countless people to die. Innocent men, women and children who did nothing wrong. You'll cause pain, suffering and death to the people you're trying to help. The gods aren't perfect, they make mistakes, they're flawed. But Kronos is not the solution. Luke, I swear on the River Styx that if you join Kronos, you will unleash Hell on earth," Annabeth said passionately.
The sound of lightning pierced the air as Luke stared at her, Patty and Nico gripping their swords as they wondered if they would have to take him down.
"Okay," Luke said after a moment. "If you're willing to go this far to stop me…I won't join Kronos."
The time before the gods
Atlas laughed as he used his Javelin to deflected Jefferson and Thalia's lightning attacks. Atlas then rushed in and the pair had to dodge as he tried to strike them with his javelin. Kara then flew over and put him in a neck lock but, to his shock, Atlas easily broke it and grabbed her by her cape, slamming her into the ground.
"You think you can stop me girl? I am a Titan," Atlas boated, slamming his foot down on her back and pressing down, pausing Kara to cry out in pain. "The people of your earth may see as a god, but you are little more than an ant under my boot."
With a roar, J'onn flew towards him, intending on striking him. However, with his free hand, Atlas reached out and grabbed J'onn by the neck, immobilizing him.
"Nice attempt green bean," Atlas said smugly.
Atlas then slammed J'onn down onto the ground before kicking him in the face.
"But I'm worlds above you," Atlas finished.
A few miles away, the fight against Kronos wasn't going any better for Oliver and Barry. Oliver tried to strike Kronos with his sword but Kronos blocked his scythe before sending a kick towards Oliver's abdomen. Oliver stumbled back as Barry, at super speed, tried to strike Kronos but time suddenly seemed to move slower than usual. Barry felt like he was moving in slow motion, more than usual as Kronos whirled around, delivering a kick to Barry's legs before striking him with the blunt end of his scythe. Barry went down, dropping his knife as Kronos stood over him.
"Using Flashtime as you call it to explain the situation and then lending your energy to Pariah has certain taken its toll, hasn't it," Kronos noted as he stared down at Barry with something akin to pity. "I suppose it's time to put you out of your misery. You were a worthy adversary son of Aphrodite."
Kronos attempted to deliver the killing blow but found his scythe blocked by a sword. Kronos turned to see Oliver staring at him, his eyes glowing with green energy. His rage had allowed him access to his new godly power.
"Stay away from him," Oliver snarled before delivering a kick to Kronos's abdomen.
Kronos stumped back as Oliver rushed him. With a sneer, Kronos swung his scythe. The two weapons collided in midair, the power of the two weapons and their wielders sending a shockwave through the area.
Back with the others, Atlas wielded his javelin, using it to block Diana's sword before sending elbowing her in the face. This wouldn't normally be something Diana would concern herself with, but an elbow from Atlas was like getting him by a truck. As Diana stumbled back, Atlas struck her with his javelin. She went down, dazed but not seriously hurt. As Atlas moved to strike her again, Percy suddenly jumped in, whirling his sword and attempting to strike Atlas. Atlas used his javelin to block before kicking Percy in the stomach. Percy was thrown back, landing on the ground hard enough to leave an imprint of his body in the ground.
"Did you learn nothing from when we fought before? Can't you see that you will never beat me?" Atlas asked as he approached the downed Percy.
Sensing movement off to the side, Atlas looked over as Clark flew towards him. He was unable to stop the punch Clark delivered to his face. Atlas flew back a foot, landing on the ground. As he got back up, Cloak grabbed him by the neck and slammed him against the side of a rock formation.
"Percy will never stop trying against you as long as he can still draw breath Atlas, none of them will," Clark said passionately. "Me? I've got a different problem."
Clark then delivered a series of punches to Atlas' chest until the rock formation crumbled, Atlas going through it. The others all looked up from where they lay, beaten by Atlas, as Clark stalked towards the Titan.
"I feel like I live in a world made of cardboard. Always taking constant care not to break something. To break someone. Never allowing myself to lose control, even for a moment or someone could die," Clark said as he made his way over to Atlas.
With a sneer, Atlas tried to strike Clark with his javelin but Clark grabbed his hand, stopping it before slugging Atlas, hard. Clark let go as Atlas flew back a few feet, landing on the ground, several feet away from his javelin.
"But you can take it, can't you? What we have here is a rare opportunity for me to cut lose and show you just how powerful I really am," Clark said.
As Atlas got to his feet, Clark flew towards and put all his strength into the punch he sent to Atlas' face. Atlas was sent flying, long passed the spot where Kronos, Oliver and Barr were, flying towards a mountain range in the distance. But, just before he hit the mountains, Clark appeared in front of him. Clark punched him, sending Atlas flying down. He struck the ground with such force that it created a crater the five of a football field.
"Had enough?" Clark said as he landed a few feet from Atlas.
"Not…quite," Atlas grunted as he got to his feet.
With a shrug, Clark flew towards him and their fists met with enough force to create a shock wave.
At the same time, Oliver and Kronos continued their own battle. With each blow of the sword and scythe, a shock wave, each stronger than the last, emitted from the two, their bodies glowing with divine power as Barry watched in awe.
"You think you can defeat me boy!? I am Kronos, the Titan Lord, destruction personified!" Kronos roared.
"And I am the Green Arrow," Oliver declared.
Kronos let out a roar of rage as sword and scythe met once more. This time, instead of a shockwave, there was an explosion followed by a blinding flash of light that consumed everything.
Hope the fight scenes were okay.
Kingdom Come Superman's speech was taken from Superman's speech to Darkseid in the Justice League Unlimited series finale. It's the kind of moment he deserved to have in the crossover but was robbed of.
Atlas would be played by Tom Hardy. Thank you to Aragorn II Elessar for his help with the casting.
