Braxton House

"Are you okay today?" Brax asks Kyle as he joins him and Ricky at the table.

"I'm doing great." Kyle mutters. "I had about a hundred phone calls and close to a hundred voicemails from Emily last night."

"I'm sure that's just an exaggeration." Ricky smiles.

"She called me so much so it could be close to that. In the end I turned my phone off. I don't even want to turn it on today." Kyle says.

"Then don't." Brax says. "I've taken you off your shift today, I thought it was best if you weren't forcing yourself into work."

"I'll cover it for you." Ricky says.

"Thanks." Kyle nods.

"Morning." Lucas smiles as he walks out from the hallway just as Casey and Heath come back from their surf.

"Hey." Casey says, catching Kyle's gaze.

"Do not ask if I'm okay." Kyle says just as Casey was about to open his mouth.

"Okay." Casey mutters, taking that as a no.

"I might go to the diner for breakfast, why don't you join me?" Lucas says. "Unless you've already had breakfast?"

"That sounds like a good idea. It will give you some fresh air." Ricky says, Kyle merely looking at her. "I'm covering your shift, so you can go to breakfast with Lucas."

"Fine!" Kyle moans as he stands up. "I'll get dressed." He mutters as he walks to his room.

"Is it best to go if he doesn't want to?" Lucas asks.

"Yeah, it will do him some good." Brax says. "You just have to be firm with him or he won't put himself first. He'll just be avoiding everything until he can be bothered to get over Emily."

"Oh, okay." Lucas says, still finding that he didn't know everything about Kyle yet.

"Another thing you'll get used to." Casey says.

"Do you have work today?" Lucas asks him.

"Not since I persuaded Heath to cover it." Casey grins.

"You blackmailed me into it." Heath says. "I don't even understand what the blackmail was."

"You don't need to, cause you agreed to cover my shift without me doing much." Casey laughs. "I'll come with you." He says to Lucas.

"Okay, thank you." Lucas smiles as Kyle walks back out.

"Let's go." He says as he walks straight out of the door without waiting for them.

"Wait up!" Lucas calls after him, following him out with Casey.

"Guess he's not doing any better today?" Heath says as he walks over to the table.

"He's only just found out his girlfriend cheated on him, he's hardly going to get over it overnight." Brax says.

The Pier Diner

"So we could see if anyone is free to meet up, or we could just sit here and stare into your coffee." Lucas says, realising Kyle wasn't listening to a word he was saying.

"Kyle." Casey says, firmly nudging his arm.

"Yeah?" Kyle mumbles, glancing up at him.

"We've been talking to you." Casey says. "Lucas said we could check if any of the boys wanted to meet up today."

"Whatever." Kyle says, frowning at Lucas takes his coffee.

"If you're not going to drink it, I will." He says, quickly drinking it all so Kyle couldn't stare into it again, but he gets stared at instead. "If you were going to drink it, I can get you another one. I just didn't want you staring into it any longer."

"It's fine." Kyle says, leaning back into his chair. "Now what else have you got planned on this schedule of yours?" He asks.

"Did you not hear the part about meeting up with the boys?" Casey asks.

"I did but they are probably busy because they have jobs. You two aren't at work because Brax and Heath probably swapped your shifts." Kyle says.

"And how would you know that?" Casey asks.

"Because my first shift back was with Lucas, who is sat across from me." Kyle says, turning to his triplet. "So who's idea was it?"

"Not mine." Casey says, glancing at Lucas.

"I don't know what you're talking about." Lucas grins.

"Is that so?" Kyle lightly smirks. "So I'm guessing our big brothers were just feeling unusually generous and decided to give you your shifts off, even though they wouldn't normally do that."

"Kyle?" They hear, and it wasn't coming from either of them, but Emily as she walked over to them. "Hi."

"Now's not the best time." Casey says.

"I just want to talk." Emily says, looking at Kyle, who avoids looking at her. "Please, I have some things to explain to you in private." She says, glancing at Casey and Lucas.

"If Kyle doesn't want to talk to you, you can't force him." Lucas says.

"So you two talk for him now?" She scoffs, not meaning to sound horrible but she just wanted to explain things to Kyle.

"I'm not ready to talk to you, so if they can see that, they can say it." Kyle says, briefly glancing at her before focusing back on his brothers.

"If we can't talk now, when is it going to happen?" Emily asks. "You haven't been answering my calls and I really need to explain things to you, my side of things."

"Fine, you've got five minutes and then we're done for good." Kyle says, standing up to go outside, Emily quickly following him.

"So you've already made your mind up about us?" Emily asks as they stop at the front of the pier.

"There was obviously nothing between us, that's already been proven." Kyle shrugs. "I thought that week away would have made us stronger, but it's shown me that there was never anything there or we wouldn't be like this now."

"Brent was lying, there was never anything between us." Emily says, Kyle scoffing that she was still denying it.

"So he made it up for fun?" Kyle says. "For you and him to finally be together like you've both wanted?"

"I don't want him, I never have!" Emily says. "I don't know exactly what Brent told you, but it won't be true."

"He told me what I wanted to hear from you. He told me you two have been sleeping together for a while, even when we were together."

"That's not true, Kyle!" Emily exclaims, seeing that he didn't believe her. "It's true, Kyle, why won't you believe me?"

"Because you haven't been honest with me when it mattered the most, kept lying throughout our relationship. If you couldn't be honest in the beginning, what sort of relationship did that mean we have?"

"I'm going to be completely honest with you now, and I want you to believe me because it's going to be the truth." Emily says. "I slept with Brent once when I first got the modelling job. It was the first night out I had with all the other models and I got drunk and we went back to his. It was the only time I've ever slept with him and it was a drunken mistake. He became obsessed with me, was always buying me things and going out his way to do things for me. I thought he was just being friendly as I made it so clear that there was never going to be anything between us because I didn't see him in the same way. I've started seeing a horrible side to him since we came back, he's become even more obsessive and I saw a side to him that I didn't like."

"And how am I meant to believe you?" Kyle asks. "This could just be a story you've made up because if it was true, why couldn't you tell me that straight away? I can't be with someone who keeps stuff from me, expecting it to be believed when it comes out further down the line."

"Because if you knew I'd slept with him before, you'd believe that I could do it again." Emily says.

"Is that how little you think of me? That I'd think that of you?" Kyle scoffs. "Cause it wouldn't have been like that, not if you told me the truth in the beginning. I would have stuck by you because I loved you. But I can't do it after this."

"Then I guess there's nothing left between us." Emily says, a tear falling that she quickly wiped away. "I loved you so much, more than anyone I've ever been with. I'm sorry for ruining our week away, I thought he really did have a new job opportunity for me but it was all lies. I'm sorry." She says as she starts to cry, rushing away to her car.

"Kyle." Casey calls over to him.

"You don't need to keep checking up on me." Kyle says as he walks over to them.

"We just want you to feel okay." Lucas says.

"It's over. I'm going to start moving on now. I need to move on." Kyle says. "So you can report back to Brax and Ricky and tell them I don't need babying because I'm going to be fine."

"Lucas agreed to watch you, not me." Casey says smiling at his face.

"What happened to not snitching?" Lucas moans.

"Kyle knew what we were doing, it doesn't count!"

"Yes it does, he could have been guessing." Lucas says.

"You've still got a lot to learn." Kyle says, smiling over at him.
