So today, I have officially been writing fanfics for one year and one day! Wow time does fly! Anyway, enjoy the chapter and thank you for reading!

After several hours of rest, Amelie had awoken to find that Adrien and Marinette had still not returned to the mansion. Ideally she wanted to speak with Adrien on his own, so was glad that Gabriel had fallen foul to the large quantity of brandy she had managed to avoid. Seeking out Nathalie, the blonde was informed curtly of their plans to visit Marinette's parents at the bakery, so decided to ask Felix to relay to her if Gabriel awoke and to keep him busy while she was gone. The face of annoyance her son pulled was amusing, especially as it darkened when she reminded him that some 'father-son bonding' would do them both some good. Now she was on her way to the bakery, with both rings on separate hands as she walked with a bounce in her step through the busy streets of Paris.

Amelie had always loved walking through the streets of Paris, and made sure to do so as often as possible when visiting the city. The blonde loved seeing the Eiffel Tower and sitting watching the tourists. The British national was aware she technically counted as a tourist too, but had spent so much time there, at one point it had felt like a second home.

Reaching out for the door of the bakery, the warm scent of freshly baked bread and the sweet aroma of the treats displayed inside made her mouth water. Amelie was definitely glad Marinette's parents did not own a fish mongers, as the blonde was sure she would not have had the same reaction.

"Good afternoon," a petite friendly woman greeted her from behind the counter, and Amelie immediately could tell this was Marinette's mother. "What can I get for you?"

"I would like two of those please and whatever Adrien and Marinette prefer, I hear they are here and I really need to speak to my nephew."

Marinette was numb.

Adrien held her gently in his arms on the chaise, as Wayzz conversed in an ancient tongue with Master Choden while Tikki and Plagg waited their turn. The ancient Guardian wanted to be caught up on everything that had happened during the time which had passed between when the temple had been destroyed and restored.

Apparently there was a lot to go through.

Before delving into the conversation with the Kwami however, the balding man had quickly spoken with Marinette and Adrien: the result of their conversation leaving Marinette in despair.

"You are not trained to be a Guardian. You are not equipped to deal with the mental toll it will have on you, and the physical side effects it will put you through."

Marinette stayed silent as Adrien felt his body fill with dread. The man, although calm and in no way aggressive, was wanting to relieve Marinette of her Guardianship, and along with that, her Miraculous and Adrien's too.

"I can see that Master Fu chose wisely in you as a team, but you do not have the full capability to protect the Miraculous'. You are to relinquish your positions immediately, and I will take over in collecting the remaining Kwami and their Miraculous."

This was Marinette and Adrien's worst case scenario. Not only would they lose the strong bonds with their Kwami, but Marinette's memory would be gone too. Every memory, every experience, every feeling she had felt since she had become the Guardian of the Miracle Box would be lost. Although Adrien would remember, Marinette was scared, she was scared that the bond they currently held would not be as powerful, as intimate… and how would they explain it to her family and peers?

"Master Choden, Marinette is the most promising holder I have had in multiple human lifetimes, possibly even my lifetime."

Tikki pleaded but the man would not back down.

"It is a collective decision which has been made by the Grand Guardians of our temple. There is nothing I can do."

"My kid is worthy! How can you judge them in a world you do not know anything of? You have not seen what we have seen, you do not know the way the world has changed and evolved."

"That is not our fault-"

"Well it certainly isn't theirs! You preach that they are not equipped to deal with the mental toll of wielding us for a lifetime, but tell me, do you know what Instagram is? Or a microwave, or a car? You are not equipped to deal with the world as it is now, but they are-"

"It is most certainly not your place to decide!"

"It might not be, but who you gonna call when you need to know how to program a VCR?"

Plagg's sarcastic tone seemed to confuse the Guardian enough to distract him from insisting on taking their Miraculous at that moment, but it would not be long until he came back to the notion. Wayzz, being thorough as always, was providing the bearded man with lots of information, and Plagg thought he was stalling until he and Tikki could find a way to convince the Guardian to at least put the idea forward that they stay with their current holders. Marinette was in bits, Adrien was doing his best to comfort her while he was falling apart too, and Plagg could just not see his kid from recovering from this loss. The Kwami of Destruction had lost too many of his holders through battle, he was not going to lose this one when he was possibly the most capable and deserving of them all. Not now that the threat of Hawkmoth had diminished and he might actually be able to enjoy his time in perfect sync for a spell. It was seldomly found for the black god, and he would happily be damned for being selfish.

They were currently situated in Marinette's bedroom, as the Guardian had demanded he see the Miracle Box and it's contents. The man had not moved for over an hour as he listened intently to Wayzz and his explanation of everything that happened while Master Fu had been in charge of keeping the box safe.

It was only when Wayzz became distracted, that the man stood and approached the two teens sitting on the chaise. Adrien did not have it in him to fight off the man, and Tikki had strongly advised against it anyway, but Marinette was trying to pull herself up to find a compromise so that she did not have to lose everything since becoming Guardian.

That was when Wayzz floated into mid air. His eyes wide while looking at Tikki and Plagg.

"I can feel it."

A black and white Kwami came forth from the man's robe, "yes, there is something else present in the area."

"Who the hell are you!" Plagg inquired into the tiny panda's face, the small Kwami smiling at the God of Destruction pleasantly before replying.

"I am Bamboo," he bowed courteously in mid air as his wielder glared at him. "I am from-"

"You were to stay put Bamboo."

"I understand Master and I am sorry," he began softly, "but I am afraid my fellow Kwami has sensed something of a different nature."

Wayzz nodded and Tikki came forward, "that is what I was telling you about, it is the same feeling I had when I saw it."

"What do you think it means?" Plagg asked as Marinette and Adrien exchanged a worried glance.

"It means," Choden spoke calmly, "that it appears we have an unknown power present, and I need to confer with my fellow Guardians to decide on how to proceed."

"Does that mean we're staying put?" Plagg glared at the older Guardian. "Or are you planning on leaving Paris defenceless with a possible new threat?"

Master Choden turned his thoughtful glare of the tiny black god, "you are disrespectful. You have no thought for the consequences of your actions. Yet you want me to leave you here in the inexperienced hands of a teenage boy?"

Plagg pointedly stared at the man.

"Yes."

"His chosen respects him," TIkki pointed out with authority, "as does mine, therefore we repay them with the same courtesy." She hovered before the Guardian, and Marinette had never seen much disgust on Tikki's face. "You may think they are not equipped to be holders, but they have done a fantastic job so far, and have even been able to stop multiple attacks, repair the damage and found a solution to restore peace to this city." Her blue eyes did not waver from his brown, "you have not shown them any respect for the magnitude of their achievements, you have acknowledged that were good choices, yet you still wish to take us away from them.

"That is not my decision."

"You are the one who has been sent," TIkki pointed out, "so, ultimately, it is."

Now, y'all are probably wondering why Marinette and Adrien were not the ones to argue their cases for keeping their Miraculous', but they have been through an emotional rollercoaster in a very short time frame and their Kwami fought on their behalf. That's my take on this anyway, what are your thoughts?

Thank you for the reviews, follows and faves, and for sticking with this fanfic!

Take it easy =^.^=
