Chapter 32
It felt slow...time felt slow after the battle in San Diego, probably because everyone was now calmed down and not on edge. Ange was watching the Guardians practice on the field with Toro, disguised, sitting next to her keeping watch. Even with her two parent's families in jail, Toro and Herman were still worried about them breaking out and going after her for revenge. Needless to say, the others noticed this immediately and with RZ approval, Toro was assigned to the two for protection in case they do since he as well was on their bad side. With things calmed down, the Guardians were now able to teach Ange football skills and move on the field before she joined a team in the youth football league next season. During this they actually learn a little surprise about Ange or-
Guardians (minus Ange): Angelina?
She nodded with a smile. Ange was a nickname, her full name is Angelina.
Ange: Ange is a nickname my father gave me, I use it to introduce myself in honor of him...I feel that you all needed to know since you help me and my uncle so much.
This was a good sign, a sign that Ange trusted them to tell them her full name. After so much she had been through it was nice that she was healing herself with new people. She was still shy, but it was a start. Baby steps after all. Their NFLRs pinged, signaling their needed in the HOK as they headed off, Marty picking up Ange and piggy backing her as she laughed. It was noticed by everyone that Marty had become the big brother figure to Ange. Needless to say Marty was also a huge factor to Ange's increase of trust with everyone, he was her mentor after all.
Later...
Ange: So he follows you sometimes?
Ange petted Pepperjack as the Guardians sat on the stairs waiting for assignments. Once again Jessica' dog had snuck into her backpack and into the HOK, Jessica allowing Ange to pet him as they wait.
Jessica: Yeah, he's been doing this since i found him as a puppy. Have to warn the others not to wear hats around him cause he takes them and wears them.
Juniper: Which we noted as to put away winter hats when we come in.
Ricky: And he's gotten my hat a few times.
Ange chuckled at that making the others smile. The map pinged showing the areas in red.
Ish: Hey RZ, what's our assignments
RZ: Guardians, a few teams are hosting charity events and wish to have the Guardians. Ish and Ash will be heading to Los Angelas, Joseph and Kristie to Philadelphia, Dean and Hunter will be in Detroit, Jack and Juniper in Pittsburgh, Amara and Ricky to Arizona, Layla and Alex to Seattle, Tua and Samuel to Las Vegas, Troy and Marty to Cleveland.
They nodded as Ange watched on until...
RZ: Ange you will be guarding the Texans in Houston.
Ange: *Confused* Huh?
The others turned to her and smiles.
Joseph: Thought it was time for you to try to go solo for the first time.
Ange: You-You really think i can do it?
Marty: Of course, not to mention you will be with Toro.
Sameul: Not to mention you have been training hard these past few weeks.
Alex: We think your ready to go solo.
Ange looked at her friends, smiled and gave a determined nod. She was ready for anything, they were ready for anything as they jumped into the portals to their locations. They would do what they can to save their world and help their friends. The would stop any foe who otherwise say so at all cost...
Right? Who could be powerful as a Guardian?
Somewhere...
Looking around the spaceship he waited. He just needed to wait for most of the Guardians to be offline and unavailable, then he will hit those Rusherz where it hurts.
?: Those knights of the sky can't save you this time...RUSHERZ..
