Epilogue

Three years later

"Uh!" Sakura grunted as Ino struggled to zip up the last few inches of her dress. "It's too tight, and you can still see my bra."

Ino stepped back, putting her hands on her hips. "I told you that you're not supposed to wear a bra! Not with wedding dresses."

"I know! But I wanted some extra lift and those silicone things made my boobs sticky and itchy after I took them off at the dress fitting." Sakura whined. Normally she wasn't a big complainer, but her nerves were turned up to eleven for today. She had to look perfect, but her hair hadn't curled on the ends quite right and now that she double checked in the mirror, her arms looked big. Then, last minute, her computer that she'd spent hours making a dance playlist on had crashed. Along with that went the three songs for the wedding ceremony. A friend from college, who thankfully had shown up early, was helping recreate the playlist. Her boyfriend also offered to connect his phone to the speakers and play the songs during the ceremony. The duo had saved her wedding, and her makeup since she wouldn't be crying in a corner now. Now if only this damned dress would get with the program.

"Maybe if we pull the bra down farther?" Hinata suggested as Ino dug through her giant purse. Sakura awkwardly tried to shove the nude strapless bra down without unzipping the dress, but it still showed through the plunging v-neckline. Sakura frowned into the mirror. Ino not so subtly stuffed her hand down the front of Sakura's dress, trying to help. It didn't work, the bra came back up and peeked through. Sakura groaned. "Hold on." Ino said as she turned and started digging in her purse again. Tenten, another bridesmaid, had a pet emergency and was running late, adding to her insanely stressful day. Temari, her final bridesmaid, made mimosas with long straws for the bridal party. She was a recent add to the friend group in the last two years. Sasuke became friends with her two brothers, who then introduced Shikamaru to them, and to her, and now Temari had moved to Konoha and into Shikamaru's place. With her quick wit and sarcasm, she fit right in.

"It'll be fine Sakura, no one will notice if your bra peaks out a little." Temari said reassuringly. Sakura whipped her gaze to her blonde friend.

"But I will. It'll stick out in every single picture we take, and my own wedding photos will haunt me." Sakura told her seriously with a straight face.

Temari stared at her. "Damn. We need something stronger than champagne and orange juice." Temari rushed out, looking for a stronger alcohol that would keep Sakura from becoming bridezilla. Chances are they wouldn't find any in the church's kitchen. Temari had snuck in three bottles of champagne through the guise of a big makeup tote and Ino had cheered and almost got them caught by the usher. Temari, Ino, Naruto. All blonde, loud, and great friends. The three of them alone were enough to give her a headache, but altogether at a wedding?

That was migraine territory.

Hinata, Sakura's gentle friend, patted her back. She could see Hinata smile at her through the mirror.

"Ah ha!" Ino cheered as she pulled something out of her bag. Then Ino approached Sakura carefully, which made her automatically suspicious. Flashing a cheesy smile, Ino held up a giant clothespin. "This should help-"

"No. Way." Sakura replied swiftly.

"What?" Ino asked, feigning innocence.

"I'm not gonna let you accidently shank me with that monstrous clothespin." Sakura deadpanned.

Ino huffed. "You want the bra to stay down or not? Or you could just take the bra off, as intended."

Sakura stared at the offending object in disgust. "Fine. Do it." Instant regret flowed over Sakura when she saw the excited glint in Ino's eyes, and it wasn't from the eyeshadow shimmering on her almond shaped eyelids. 'She's enjoying this too much.' Sakura fretted. Ino opened the giant clothespin, and shoved her hand down Sakura's dress again so the bra would stay put. Sakura's heart rate picked up, staring at the pointy object.

"Oh! I can't look." Hinata groaned, covering her eyes.

Sakura's hand shot out, latching onto Hinata's forearm. None of her glittery stick-on nails fell off, thankfully.

"You have to look to make sure she doesn't stab me in the heart!" Sakura commanded hysterically. Hinata groaned again and peeked one eye through. Ino rolled her eyes at them, the clothespin poised between her fingers as she held it over Sakura's cleavage.

"All this because you want your boobs to look bigger in your wedding pictures." Ino mumbled.

"Let me have this one day of vanity." Sakura whined. "Beauty is pain."

Ino's tongue stuck out in concentration as she closed in, but she could feel Sakura's burning gaze. Her head snapped up. "Your making me nervous, staring at me like that! I need a steady hand to do this!"

"Ughhhhhh." Sakura looked away and bit her lip.

Tenten came into the room like a flurry, right as Ino was about to pin Sakura's bra. "Sorry I'm late!" She announced, dropping her purse on a table. Her face screwed in confusion as she absorbed the scene in front of her. "What the hell is going on?"

"Shhhhh." Ino shushed Tenten without looking up. Then she told Sakura, "Don't move."

"Wait!" Sakura cried out. "Let Tenten do it!" She suddenly trusted Tenten's motives considerably more.

"Stop stalling and just let me do it!"

The whole clothespin fiasco didn't help with Sakura's anxiety, but at least she couldn't see her bra peeking out anymore. The last touches were done, now they were just playing the waiting game. Temari had offered her another drink, but she turned it down. She didn't want to drink too much when she was already so nervous. If she combined the two, she would be wobbling down the aisle. Deep breath. In through the nose, out through the mouth.

She felt truly blessed to be marrying the love her life and she was beyond excited, that was part of the nerves. Like every other bride, she worried about the little things that normally didn't matter to her. Matching colors, flower symbolism, that everyone has their shoes on (talking to you, ring bearers). Now the moment was here, and too many things were going wrong. Right before the ceremony.

In through the nose, out through the mouth.

The playlist and bra issues had worked out. Her hair still didn't want to curl evenly, and she was scared that the stick-on nails wouldn't make it through the ceremony. Ino had told her just to book a nail appointment but she blew it off. She felt like she didn't need her nails done until she looked at her bare fingers yesterday after work. The nails had been an early morning purchase from target. Not like she could sleep last night anyways.

Sakura could hear voices on the other side of the door. The church had converted an old office for the bridal party to get ready in, and had taped paper over the small window in the door so no one could peek at the bride. The same was done with the groomsmen, but their room was a Sunday school classroom on the other side of the chapel. No chance of accidently crossing each other to go to the bathroom. She tapped a finger on her leg as she sat and waited. All that was left was to wait, and hope her pictures wouldn't capture the hair issue.

"Ohhhh!" She heard Ino snicker behind her. "Sakura, you have to see this."

Sakura looked over. Ino had lifted the tape and the bottom section of the paper concealing the door window so she could people watch. Sakura got up and walked over. "What are you doing?"

"You need to see this." Ino reiterated. Before Sakura could lean closer, she heard a boisterous laugh on the other side of the door. The groomsmen were in the hallway.

"Ino! They're not supposed to see me." Sakura hissed. She didn't want to risk being seen by her soon-to-be husband. She wanted the look on his face to be authentic when he first saw her walking down the aisle.

"Trust me, they can't see." Ino prodded with a small smile on her lips. Her blue knee-length dress swayed as she shuffled over to make room for Sakura. Reluctantly, Sakura peered out.

Naruto's bright blonde hair was the first thing to catch her attention. She watched as he threw his head back and laughed, slapping the back of someone out of view. She could see Shikamaru, too, but the groomsmen were in a tight huddle-like group and she couldn't see much more.

"Ugh! Stupid Naruto, move out of the way!" Ino growled.

"What am I looking for?" Sakura asked, exasperated.

"You're hubby! That's who. You need to see the look on his face."

Waiting a beat, the groomsmen dissipated enough to where she could see her soon-to-be. First, she saw his hand straightening the lapels on his jacket, careful not to knock off the pinned white anemone boutonnière on his breast. Then Naruto moved enough for her to see him in his entirety. He looked down as he adjusted his jacket. Finally, he looked up.

Men did not like being called beautiful, yet so often she thought to herself how beautiful Sasuke was.

The square jaw that held no hint of stubble, his perfectly proportionate lips, regal nose, and high cheekbones were wholly masculine. Even his long lashes that framed his deep-set, abysmal eyes looked like they were made for him. His hair had grown, taming the spikes in the back with help from a comb. The suit he wore fit perfectly. No surprise there. But something was off. After taking him in, she realized why Ino insisted that she had to see him.

His whole face, all the way down the neck, was red.

Now she picked up the small signs. His hands were constantly doing something, and he kept shifting his weight like he couldn't sit still. If those weren't enough, the blush making his face look like a tomato was a dead giveaway that he was just as nervous as she was. Maybe even more.

A giggle bubbled out of her mouth. She moved away from the window as she laughed, not wanting anyone to hear her and be spotted. "Oh my gosh," She exclaimed. "He's too cute."

The badass detective looked like a fitful little boy, trying to work up the courage to talk to his school crush and failing miserably. For some reason, that made her feel better. Her nerves were calmed. With an airy sigh, she sat back down. There was a knock at the other door, from the far side connected to the kitchen, where the guests weren't congregating in the lobby for the ushers to seat them.

Hinata went to the door and cracked it open to peek. It was the pastor.

"Ready to go? T-minus fifteen minutes." He told them with a jovial smile.

"Yes." Sakura breathed. She stood in her silk heels and reached for her bouquet. It was made of crisp white anemones and sweet peas for a pop of color varying from pink to yellow, then lily of the valley flowers made a small trail with green filigree. For the wedding, they had stuck with a simple theme to match the season: spring. That's why all the bridesmaids wore beautiful, soft pastel colors.

Each bridesmaid had a smaller bouquet of Sakura's, but the sweet peas weren't multicolor. Instead, they matched each bridesmaids dress. Blue for Ino, purple for Hinata, yellow for Tenten, and orange for Temari. Then, the groomsmen paralleled their snow pea boutonnière with the bridesmaid he walked down the aisle with. That part had been Sasuke's idea, and she had been touched at his effort to be involved.

His one other request? That one flavor of their cupcakes be red velvet. When Sasuke ate any sweets, it was exclusively something chocolatey and his favorite was red velvet. 'My secret chocolate lover.'

The pastor started ushering out the bridesmaids to line up with the groomsmen. Hinata and Temari flashed her smiles and Ino winked. "It's go time." Tenten said while squeezing her shoulder, then joined the others. Her father came in to guide her into the foyer, his face filled with pride and elation. That look on his face alone almost made her start weeping, but she kept her tears in check. They stood in the very back of the foyer, trying to stay hidden. She could see through the glass panes and out into the pews, filled with people trying to sneak a look at the bride.

The music changed. The wedding guests stood.

Sakura looped her arm in her father's, and he gave her hand a gentle squeeze with his before they started moving. Holding the bouquet at her midsection, thumbs aligned with her bellybutton, they made their way down the aisle. The photographer was a friend, and she was respectful as she snapped shots, but Sakura didn't think to look at the camera. Her gaze was glued to Sasuke's. So many women hoped that they moved their husband to tears, but Sakura was just searching for assurance. That Sasuke wasn't planning on bolting before she made it to the front.

Searching those abysmal eyes, she saw love. Adoration. Nerves. He was staying put. Seeing this gave her confidence, and like with her dad, she fought back tears of joy. This day, their wedding day, was full of happy yet overwhelming emotions.

Their ceremony passed in a dreamlike state. Sakura was anxious but she knew that this was what they both wanted. It looked like Sasuke was going through the same thing. She noticed his body was stiff, and his hands clutched hers a little too tight. She didn't remember hearing the pastor's word, but she managed to repeat them. Her oath to him. Their oath to each other. Sasuke's grip tightened. A single stick-on nail popped off. She couldn't bring herself to care. All those small things worrying her earlier had melted away because they didn't matter.

They felt so small for such a big day, and it was all about them.

They were going to spend the rest of their lives together.

Despite after their honeymoon, the struggle to learn to live together since Sasuke had only moved back to Konoha a week before their wedding. The love language needing to develop between them since they were no longer in a long-distance relationship.

Despite their argument a year later, when they'd have a blowout about finances. About how frugal Sakura was and how Sasuke felt he was grown man and didn't need to be told what he could or couldn't buy.

Despite years down the road, he'd hesitate to have kids. Deathly scared to have girls because he was afraid he couldn't handle them. Yet, their sweet, headstrong daughter had him wrapped around her little finger.

Despite at 32, Sakura would be invited to a girls trip down in Vegas and she'd be consumed by insecurities about her after-child body. Sasuke, never the best at consoling, would tell her that he loved her ass, he loved their daughter, and he wouldn't change a thing. Then she didn't want to leave because it had been years since they'd been separated for longer than a day. (She ended up having a great time).

Despite Sasuke almost being shot at 42 and vowing to never miss another one of Sarada's school, sporting, or band events again.

Despite dealing with a teenage Sarada and being in their forties.

Despite Itachi passing from a heart attack at 53, and Sakura being the only one able to truly console Sasuke.

Despite Sasuke making sure to clean his guns whenever Sarada brought home a boy. He always timed it perfectly. And only one was brave enough to ask for her hand in marriage.

Despite all the trials and tribulations of life:

They spent the rest of their lives together.

Uber Killer: Sonya couldn't believe it; she clicked on the article titled THE UBER KILLER STRIKES. The farther she read, the angrier she got. "This is unbelievable." She muttered to herself as she scrolled, her finger tapping her chin. Where did they come up with the stupid moniker 'uber killer'? Darcy was attacked on her way to her car after leaving a party, a party that Sonya was at, not from getting an uber driver. She was killed before she could even unlock her car.

And, Sonya suspects that Darcy was killed by someone she knew; someone that Sonya knows too.

Ritual: Two Irish cousins, practically sisters, feel like they're starting their senior year off right. How cool is it that they're skipping out on the big Halloween bash to do the dinner of the dead ritual on Samhain instead? And they know the best place for it; the one haunted house their town has, up on the hill. Ghosts aren't real anyways, so where's the harm in it?

Ghosts aren't real…right?

Cara's starting to doubt that, because something-someone- has attached themselves to her. And they won't let go.

And a part of her doesn't want to let go either.
