Chapter 32, Vsegda i navsegda

(всегда и навсегда)

Finally they would get to go home. Dimitri watched as Rose tried to put one of his large hoodies on, struggling to pull it over her head with a cast on her right wrist. She looked so tired Dimitri just wanted to hold her until she was all healed, but she was far too independent. Dimitri continued watching her with a faint smile on his face and hands in his pockets, with a sigh of defeat Rose turned her tired eyes to him in question.

Pushing off the wall he walked towards the tiny, bruised woman standing in front of him "here, let me do that" Dimitri pulled the hoodie over her head and pulled in down, he was so much larger than her that the hoodie fel to the knees.

"Tired moya lyubov?"

Rose's head fell onto his chest and her body slumped from exhaustion "I just want to go home" her hands wrapped around her middle, instinctively protecting the little bean forming inside her womb.

"Want me to carry you out?" that brought a scowl to her face as her head tilted back to look him in the eye

"Absolutely not Dimitri Alexander Belikov" Dimitri chuckled deeply at her response but nodded, knowing exactly what her reaction was going to be

"Alright, I'll get the nurse and have her bring a wheelchair for you"

"Do I have to, it's embarrassing"

"Hospital policy, Rose. besides you need to take it easy, not only for you lyubimyy" Dimitri nodded towards her abdomen "there are two of you now that I need to keep healthy and safe." gripping the sides of her face he brought his face down until their eyes met "please Rose, for me"

"Alright, go get that stupid chair then" Rose huffed avoiding his eyes like the plague.

"I'll be right back" Dimitri kissed her forehead and headed to the nurses station.

There was a young nurse sitting behind a computer screen, when he approached her eyes half heartedly, until she fully comprehended who was standing in front of her.

"Mr. Belikov, is everything alright?"

"Everything is perfect, I need a wheelchair, I'm taking her home"

"Of course, I'll bring it right to you" After a few moments she appeared with a wheelchair. Dimitri smiled at the thought of Rose's scowl when he would roll the chair into her room, as he took a hold of it and thanked the nurse for her assistance.

Dimitri halted in the doorway, watching as Rose tried to pile her hair on top of her head one handed and tired. She turned around when he chuckled at her, scowling as he knew she would at the sight of the chair.

"I hate this" She sounded defeated rather than in pain

"I know Milaya moya, It's almost over" walking to her side he ran his fingers through her hair starting at the back of her head through to the ends, enjoying her sigh of pleasure, then twisting it in the way he had watched her do multiple times and piling it on top of her head

"I need a …" he stopped finding the words he needed

"What ?"

"I need a..a rezinka dlya volos"

"A what ?"

"Rezinka dlya volos" Dimitri muttered again "What is the word again, the thing you use for your hair" his voice was one of annoyance

Rose smiled at him sweetly and handed over the hair tie on her wrist "a hair tie"

"Thank you" Dimitri smiled, kissing her cheek before he finished tying up her hair in a loose messy knot on top of her head.

"What did you call it ?" Rose asked as she turned around to meet his eye

Dimitri wrapped his arms lightly around her touching his nose to hers "rezinka dlya volos"

"That's a bit of a mouth full" Rose mumbled "rezinka dlya volos"

"Good, I like listening to you trying to speak my language. We should practise your Russian"

"I'd like that" the smile she gave him could melt a glazier, she was so beautiful even covered in bandages and bruises. Dimitri smiled at her and connected their lips lightly, in a sweet kiss full of love and admiration.

She was the strongest woman he had ever known, she'd gone through hell because of his mistakes. He felt the guilt seep through him, he furrowed his brows as he looked at her.

"I'm alright" Rose whispered stroking his jaw lovingly "we're here, you and me. Together"

Dimitri just nodded kissing her forehead "The men are waiting for you anxiously, Vlad especially"

"Let's not keep them waiting any longer" taking her hand Dimitri lead her to the wheelchair and helped her get comfortable, even with her grumbling in annoyance cursing the hospital for their "unnecessary" policies.

The sight of the mansion was like a dream, finally she was home, she couldn't wait to get into Dimitri's large, soft bed and sleep for as long as she could. Dimitri held onto her hand the entire car ride home, Rose knew the man beside her like the back of her hand, on the surface he looked calm and collected but she knew better.

"Dimitri, is everything alright?"

"Last time we were here together I lost you" his brows furrowed in anger, he lifted her fingers to his lips and kissed her hand in affection, and held her hand to his lips until the car came to a halt by the front gate waiting for it to be opened by one of the guards. Stroking her thumb over his knuckles in comfort she gave him a weak smile "I won't leave your sight"

Dimitri let go of her hand for a mere moment to grab her chin lightly, careful not to hurt her, and gave her a kiss.

"No you won't. I'm letting you know now, that I'll be sticking to you like glue. If i have a meeting you're there. If you have a meeting, I'll be there. You get me lyublyu?"

"Alright aşkim." Dimitri gave a curt nod and turned his head towards the guard at the gate and rolled down his window, greeting Pavel, one of the guards on duty.

She just looked at Dimitri, studying his face every line and every curve. The way he ran his fingers through his hair as he chatted in russian. His accent was something Rose never knew she would find so sexy, it was a rough language and it always seemed like the speakers were arguing.

Smiling at her own thoughts, this was the man she never knew she needed, but here he was sitting beside her prepared to do anything to keep her safe and she knew he loved her unconditionally.

Rose didn't even hear him say her name until she looked at his lips "Roza"

Focusing back on him and his words she asked "what?"

"I asked if you were ready to go inside"

Looking around she noticed they were right outside the mansion door, she had been so transfixed on Dimitri she hadn't even noticed when he'd driven them through the gate and towards the building.

"Never been more ready"

Dimitri stepped out of the car after he got her answer, walking to her side of the car he opened the door for her, like the gentleman he was, and helped her step out. Taking a hold of her waist he led her to the front door, kissing the top of her head, then he opened the door and led her inside.

There were murmurs coming from the kitchen when they entered the building, Roseknew there were men roaming around the house, lurking somewhere undoubtedly. Rose smiled looking around, it seemed like such a long time since she'd seen the mansion, even the spell of cologne, gunpowder and cigarettes felt like home.

Dimitri stepped behind her wrapping his arms around her waist, caging her close to him "how does it feel to be back here?"

"Amazing, I missed it."

The sound of footsteps approaching made Rose look away from the big staircase to the hallway leading to the library, she smiled when she saw Alexander come to a halt at the sight of them.

"Ona zdes' '' (she's here) Rose jumped as Alexander bellow traveled through the building echoing off the walls. Alexander came rushing forward towards her. Dimitri's arms let her go, in their stead Alexander's long slender arms wrapped carefully around her in a soft hug.

"Finally" he sighed into her hair "It's good to have you back" that brought a smile to her face, then Alexander was thrown off her by scared beefy hands "dvigaysya, mal'chik" (move boy)

Rose would know that voice anywhere. Boris. Rose's smile got even bigger as she was lifted off the ground softly and hugged by the bear holding her in the air. "Hi Borja"

"Hello, malen'kiy voin" (little warrior) he gave her a soft squeeze then let her down.

"My turn" Vlad stepped in his brother's spot, softly he held her head in his hands, cupping her cheeks, being careful with her fractured jaw as he examined her "How are you feeling little lady ?"

"A little tired, otherwise I'm fine" unconsciously Rose placed her hands on her lower abdomen, it didn't go unnoticed by Vlad, whose eyes narrowed slightly at her actions. She noticed her mistake and a slight feeling of panic ran through her.

Vlad, noticing her change in emotion, drew her into his chest, whispering in her ear "He's safe." Then he kissed her check and nodded to Dimitri.

Rose was hugged and greeted by the entire household of men as they stepped towards her one by one, some hugging her, others kissing her cheek.

Dimitri was aware the change in her body language the moment it occurred. Her shoulders slumped slightly and her head turned slightly to the side, after the last of his men stepped away. "Roza?"

"Yeah?" her voice was low and slightly shaky, her fingers brushed her eyes and he knew she was overwhelmed.

"Are you alright Moya lyubov'?" he turned her around to face him, her head hung low and turned to the floor.

"I'm just tired"

Without another word Dimitri bent down and grabbed her behind the knees cradling her in his arms, and carried her up the stairs to their room.

The room was softly lit, and the curtains were drawn when they entered. Dimitri placed her softly on the bed, careful of her injuries. Slowly he stood and removed his jacket, placing it on one of the large chairs facing the electric fireplace he then lit with a single touch of a button.

Dimitri bent down in front of Rose as she sat at the edge of the bed, eyes closed and head turned towards the ceiling, slowly he took her shoes off, followed by her pants as he slid them down her legs and onto the floor. Sliding his hands up and down her injured legs he made notice of every single bruise and every single scar marring her skin.

"Please don't look at them" Rose's voice drew his attention "I look horrible" her eyes were glistening in the soft hue of the room, her face twisted in pain.

Dimitri paid her words no mind, continuing to examine every inch of her legs. The bruises would be gone in a few weeks, but the scars would always be there, he didn't care, she was beautiful in every single way and no amount of scars would be able to change that.

"You look beautiful Moya lyubov', these," he traced two scars on her inner thigh "are just a part of your story."

"But they are so ugly and in your face" Rose ran the sleeve of her sweater under her nose

Dimitri furrowed his brows at her words, getting to his feet he took off his shirt, barring his tattooed chest for her to look at "Look at me Roza"

When she refused to meet his eye, he stepped closer and took her good hand and placed it on a large scar right above the seam of his pants "Is that what these are?"

Rose whipped her head towards him at that "No of course not"

"Then why are yours ?"

"Because" she averted her eyes again

"Because?" Dimitri fished

"Just because, okay"

"No Roza, they are a part of you" Dimitri sat on his haunches "Please look at me"

She met his eye "there you are" Dimitri smiled " These scars are nothing to be ashamed of. I love you. With scars or without." wiping a tear from her cheek he continued "our scars are our story, they make us who we are today. Yours show me what a strong woman you are and that there is nothing you can't survive"

Rose's lip started to shake as he spoke "you are the most beautiful woman in the world and you are going to be a wonderful mother to our children." that brought out a full force sob from her.

"Moya lyubov', come here" Dimitri took her arms and wrapped them around his neck "I'm sorry" Rose sobed

"You have nothing to be sorry for Roza. I love you and nothing will change that"

"I love you so much" her sobs were louder as she hugged him tighter "oh, dorogoy" (sweetheart) .

"You need to sleep, Moya lyubov', let's get you into bed."

Slowly he helped her undress and slither under the covers. Her eyes were red and swollen from all her tears as Dimitri pulled her close to his bare chest, keeping her warm as she shivered.

This was his happy place, just the two of them, three now. Dimitri smiled at the thought of his child growing inside her as she lay beside him in their bed. Dimitri placed a warm hand on her abdomen and stroked his thumb over her growing bump. It was there, it had been growing while she was away from him and he hadn't seen her naked since before she was taken, it was no wonder he hadn't noticed it until now.

"I'm scared" Rose suddenly stated while he had his mind focused on her growing bump

"What are you scared of ?"

"What if I'm a horrible mother?"

"That's not possible"

"How do you know?" she laced their fingers together over her stomach

"Because you're you. You think about everyone around you and besides I have seen you with your brother's children." Dimitri laced the fingers of his other hand in her hair, running them through in a soothing way. "I wouldn't want anyone else to be the mother of my children"

"You want more than one?" Rose looked up at him this time, searching for answers in his face.

Dimitri smiled at that "as many as you're willing to give me"

"I want him to have a brother or a sister at least." she mumbled

"Then a brother or a sister he will have" Dimitri chuckled lightly "how about we start with this one and see how it goes"

"Sounds like a plan" she gave him the most dazzling smile he hadn't seen in a while.

"Get some sleep and then I'll get you some food"

"You'll be here when I wake up?"

"Vsegda i navsegda" (always and forever)
