Episode 4 part 5
The girls, and Rafael sat down next to Connor.
"How are we going to find out who the Sundance Clan is working for?" asked Stevie.
"Yeah," said Carole, "where do we start?"
"We'll we could try to get the information out of a member of the Clan," said Lisa, "But how are we supposed to find one though, they forge the crests of other clans."
Then they all turned and looked at Rafael.
"What?" he said
"Well," said Connor, "You're the only one here who has dealt with the Sundance clan before, so you must know how to identify them."
"Okay fine," Rafael sighed, "yes they forge the crests and medallions of other clans, but they also carry their own crests. It's a coin sized pendant, in a bracelet on a necklace, or sometimes it's a tattoo with a sun rising over a range of mountains."
"All right," said Connor, "tomorrow school starts again, so as we all go into Willow creek everyone keeps their eyes opened for the Sundance clan crest!"
The others nodded. Then they packed up, mounted up and headed back toward Pine Hollow.
The next morning found the saddle club walking down the hallways of Willow Creek Junior High. Kristi and Desi were working their part time job in the nurse's Office. They were helping Nurse Rebecca Walker bandage up the knee of R.J. Wilson for the fourth time that week.
Nurse Walker said that that boy had to be the most accident-prone human being on the face of the planet!
After R.J. hobbled out the door to his next class. The girls could finally sit down.
"Even money he'll be back in here before the day is out!" said Desi
"Now where are you ever gonna find a sucker to take that bet?" chuckled Kristi
"Good point!" replied Desi laughing
"Alright you two, be nice." Said Nurse Walker trying to hide her own smile
Just then the bell rang announcing the beginning of the second period.
Lisa hurried to her locker and switched out one textbook for another, then, hurried off to her science class. As she rounded the corner, she passed a janitor who was buffing the floor. Just as she went past him, she stopped dead in her tracks!
She had just realized that the tattoo on his neck was the one she had been looking for. This guy was a member of the Sundance clan!
Then Lisa realized, that she'd better keep going, before he got suspicious. Hopefully it hadn't dawned on him that he had been made.
She hurried on to her class, suddenly feeling like it was a very bad idea not to bring her sword cane with her today!
When she arrived, she was relieved to see all the others there. She hurried over and sat at the desk next to Elle. While they were waiting for the teacher to show up. Lisa quietly told Elle what she saw and texted the others that weren't sitting within earshot.
A few seconds later the Vice principal came in and announced that due to the regular science teacher's sudden illness they would have a substitute teacher. A Miss Selena Madero.
The teacher walked in. she was a tall woman with long straight black hair.
"She looks like she might be of Romani descent." Thought Lisa, and she could tell the rest of her friends were thinking the same thing.
When Ms. Madero turned to write her name on the board, Stevie caught sight of a tiny Sundance emblem mounted in a wire bracelet she was wearing.
From the look that flashed over Stevie's face and quickly disappeared, her friends could guess what she saw.
Lisa put her hands under the desk with her phone and texted her friends,
"This is gonna be harder than I thought," she wrote, "The Sundance clan is all over the place!"
