Peparia returned to the Time Nest to find Trunks in a dire state; his very existence was in flux thanks to the change in history Towa made. Using her dark magic, she powered up the Artificial Humans, giving them what they needed to kill him in his first solo encounter.

Thankfully, the change in history hadn't filtered completely into their reality just yet, but they needed to move quickly; Trunks not being around would also mean Peparia would have died on Sadala. And while she still felt like a fish out of water, her family and friends long since dead, she had no intention of going quietly. She would go down fighting, as a Saiyan in their prime should.

Peparia took the scroll of time and concentrated on it, entering the alternate timestream that Trunks was from. She immediately transformed into Super Saiyan 2, and rushed in, nailing both 17 and 18 in the jaw, sending them flying into the abandoned buildings.

"Who are you?" Trunks asked, clearly confused as to what was happening.

"No time for talking," Peparia said, her back to her descendant. She had to be careful here; she couldn't kill the Artificial Humans now, as this was Trunks' motivation to go to the past. So as always, she had to hold back, drain their stamina enough so they didn't kill Trunks.

17 and 18 were taunting them the whole time, but since they were unable to sense ki, they didn't know just how much stronger Peparia was than they were. But Peparia was in the same boat; they didn't emit ki, so she couldn't tell just how strong they were. She had to use her eyes and ears to determine how much damage they were taking, only sensing ki to determine Trunks' health.

Once the Artificial Humans had done enough damage to Trunks to where he was as injured as he was in the proper timeline, that was when Peparia ramped up her power. She rushed in, grabbed 17 and threw him into 18. Once there, used the Taiyoken to blind them, and flew into the sky, charging up a Big Bang Attack. She launched the blast at the Artificial Humans, who took the attack, though as Peparia intended, it didn't kill them.

"Well, I didn't know there were any strong people left," 17 said, smiling.

"You have no idea how out of your league you are," Peparia said. "The only reason you survived that blast is because I'm not the one who's supposed to kill you." She then sent out a pair of ki blasts from both hands, one aimed at both 17 and 18. This did enough damage to make them retreat, granting Peparia the opportunity to dig Trunks out of the rubble and fly him back to Bulma's Capsule Corp bunker. She rang the bell for Bulma to retrieve her son, and then took to the sky, relieved that she'd saved both his life and hers.

However, Towa wasn't finished. She teleported in and began taunting Peparia.

"I knew you'd show up," Towa said as she appeared, in what could only be described as a seductive tone. She held her staff behind her, floating around it like some kind of stripper on a pole. "I bet you thought you actually helped him, am I right?"

"My body…we weren't able to…" Trunks said, panicking. "Look, it's becoming transparent."

Towa chuckled evilly. "Yes, I made one more change in history. And you don't have time to find it."

Peparia rushed forward at Towa, only to be stopped by Mira, who had gained strength from the last couple of battles, making him far stronger than when they last fought. Peparia would need to do something about this soon, but right now, her own life was at stake.

Towa teleported them out, and Peparia floated there, unsure of what to do. So long as she was in the past and didn't fall in combat, her existence was safe. But she had to do something, anything to preserve Trunks.

It was at this point when another figure teleported in. He looked like a Kaioshin, but…wrong. He had sickly yellow skin, red eyes and a staff made of bones with a red orb on top.

"You seem to be troubled," the evil Kaioshin said. Peparia glared at him, but he continued. "Don't make that face. Would you like to go to the change? I'll take you there."

Peparia was shocked. Whoever this evil Kaioshin was, he had the power to move through time.

The evil Kaioshin held out his hand, and Peparia looked at it nervously. Whatever this man was planning, it wasn't good. "Here, take my hand," he said. Then he chuckled. "You have no time. You have no choice."

Peparia knew he was right, and hesitantly placed her hand on his. He then did something to her and then let go, placing his hand on her forehead. "Tell the Kaioshin of Time that I'll see her real soon."

Peparia closed her eyes as she always did when she traveled through time, and once she opened them, she was in near the same location she had been in before. She heard Trunks talking to himself about what needed to be done, and she realized that this was after the Cell games in the true timeline, and Trunks was here to end the Artificial Humans once and for all. But something was wrong; Cell had absorbed them, making him perfect.

Both Peparia and Trunks transformed into their highest state; Trunks in his mastered Super Saiyan, Peparia into Super Saiyan 2. And at this point, Peparia didn't need to hold back on Cell. So long as he died, history would be fine.

Trunks, of course, professed confusion about Cell being in his perfect form. Cell explained that he'd absorbed 17 and 18, though he initially professed confusion about how Trunks knew about this. He then realized that Trunks had been to the past, and then asked if Peparia was "from the past, too."

Peparia, however, found no reason to banter with him. She missed out on her opportunity to take on Cell previously, and she was going to enjoy overpowering this dark version of her teacher.

Peparia showed no mercy, with every blow on Cell being so fast and so powerful that Cell didn't even have time to block. Trunks, however, was shocked. To see someone outside of Gohan cause Cell this much trouble…it made him happy.

But Peparia knew she couldn't screw around here, because she didn't want to give Mira more power than she had to. So, once Cell was breathing heavy and having trouble moving, she charged up a Final Flash, and blasted Cell, eradicating every molecule of him, finally ending the threat.

"It's all finally over," Trunks said, powering down. He looked directly at Peparia, smiling as she also powered down. "I have to thank you too. You've helped me out quite a bit. But who are you?"

"I can't tell you much," Peparia said. "But just know that I'll be very important to your future."

"Well, that's not cryptic," Trunks said, rolling his eyes.

"I know," Peparia said, pulling the scroll from her belt that would allow her to return. "But trust me, you'll know everything you need to about me soon." She then closed her eyes, and concentrated on the scroll, leaving this timeline behind once and for all.

When she returned home, Trunks was back to normal, and thanked Peparia profusely. But Peparia was more concerned about the evil Kaioshin and told Chronoa what he said.

"No way," Chronoa said. "It can't be. He shouldn't be able to enter this world."

"What do you mean? Who was he?" Peparia asked.

"When I was still an apprentice, there was another Kaioshin in training that helped me raise Toki Toki. But our master saw his dark ambitions and made me his successor instead, which angered him," Chronoa said. "We had a war, and I banished him into the Crack of Time, though since he killed my predecessor, I was forced to step up as the Kaioshin of Time."

"So, is he trying to escape?" Peparia asked.

"He shouldn't be able to," Chronoa said. "It's a dimension outside of time and the multiverse. Even I can't get in there."

"Well, in case he does get out, I'll be ready. But for now, I need to prepare for Mira. He's still stronger than me, and I intend to rectify that," Peparia said.
