Dan, Alicia, Fiona, and Sarah ran through the streets of the city area for the test field. They made sure to do their best to stay hidden and keep an eye out for any enemies. After getting separated from most of their class, they would be in trouble if an entire school's class ambushed them.
"I hope the others are alright." Fiona commented.
"So do I, but right now we need to focus on ourselves." Dan reminded her. "We can't help the fact that we all got split up. All we can do now is do our best to pass."
"Yeah." Alicia nodded. "I'm sure everyone else is fine."
Daisuke's voice was soon heard over the loudspeaker. "Ah, that's 34 that have passed now! Spots are filling up left and right! Better hurry if you don't want to bite the dust!"
"People are passing more frequently now." Sarah noted. "It's only going to get worse as things continue. Let's hurry and try to find some others to take out."
The group of four continued to make their way through the streets. Thankfully, there didn't seem to be any other examinees in their vicinity. Sarah took the lead and pointed to a nearby building. "Let's hide in there for now. We can get a good vantage point and wait to ambush other teams."
The other three nodded in agreement. Once they checked to make sure it was all clear, they took off running for the door to the building. As they made it halfway down the block though, they soon realized the area wasn't as void of enemies as they had though.
It all happened in an instant. Several orbs of light came flying down at them. As they touched the ground, they exploded and forced the U.A students to stop in their tracks.
Sarah held her ground with her classmates and managed to avoid being blown away by the shockwaves of the bombs. "It's an ambush!"
As the smoke cleared, the four of them saw their assailants standing around the area. They each wore the same uniform, and every one of them was female. Alicia recognized it as the same uniform Misumi was wearing when she ran into her earlier.
"They're not wearing their costumes?" Fiona questioned.
"We are Seiai Academy." one of the girls stated. "We wouldn't disgrace ourselves with silly costumes like the rest of you wear."
"Seiai Academy is the pinnacle of grace and beauty." another girl stated. "Nothing else could possibly match the elegance of our school's uniform."
Alicia quickly looked amongst the group. There were a lot of them there. Misumi had to be among them. But none of the girls she could see matched Misumi's appearance. Suddenly, she felt something wrap around her leg. Before Alicia could even react, she was forcefully yanked back and into the air. "Ah!"
Dan turned as he heard his classmate scream. "Alicia!" He attempted to go and help her, but a thick cloud of black smoke quickly blocked his path. Dan tried to go through it, but the smoke pushed him back. It was as if it wasn't smoke so much as cotton.
"Don't bother trying to force your way through. My solid smoke can't be broken through so easily." a girl near Dan told him with a smirk. "Our classmate was very insistent about no one else interfering with her fun with your friend."
On the other side of the wall of smoke, Alicia dangled upside down in the air. Wrapped around her right ankle was blonde hair. Alicia didn't even need to see the owner of the hair to know who it was. She was all too familiar with this Quirk and who it belonged to. "Misumi."
Misumi smirked at Alicia as she held her up in the air with her long hair. "Hello, Alicia."
[Misumi Kogo. Quirk: Hair. She can grow her hair out at will and control it like a part of her body. Her hair is also more durable than normal hair.]
Alicia quickly aimed an attack from her Quirk at Misumi, but the Seiai Academy girl quickly tossed Alicia around before she could fire. Alicia was completely at Misumi's mercy as she flailed around helplessly.
"Hahahaha, this feels great! We really haven't spent much quality time since junior high, have we Alicia?!" Misumi laughed. She swung her hair down, slamming Alicia into the pavement of the road.
Alicia groaned as she laid in the cracked pavement. Her body was aching in pain from the painful hit she had just taken. "Ngh…"
"You know, I could just restrain you with my Quirk, hit your targets, and be done with you. But that wouldn't be any fun, now would it?" Misumi smirked. "Instead, I have an idea for a little show we can have."
Manipulating her hair, Misumi tied Alicia's wrists together and lifted her up so she was hanging a few feet off the ground. She then took a separate cluster of her hair and wrapped Alicia's ankles together. She then took a final third cluster and sent it flying right into Alicia's gut. Alicia felt the air rush out of her lungs from the heavy hit. Misumi reeled the cluster of hair back before slamming it into Alicia's gut once again. She hit her over and over again, enjoying the pain etched across Alicia's face.
Misumi hadn't changed one bit, not that Alicia had been expecting anything different. Misumi loved toying with others, making herself feel superior. Alicia hadn't seen this side of her at first back when they were friends, but she realized it in the most painful way when Misumi found out about the night half of her Quirk. Misumi needed to prove she was better than everyone else around her. Alicia wasn't sure whether Misumi did it to prove it to others or herself, but she knew Misumi did it regardless.
"I have a fun idea. Why don't we go ahead and share your little secret with everyone here?" Misumi suggested with a sadistic grin. She turned her head to one of the two girls with her. "Rumi, do it! Now!"
The girl known as Rumi feverishly nodded her head. "Y-Yes, Miss Kogo!"
Alicia watched helplessly as Rumi held out her hands. Light shined from her palms and onto Alicia. It was a little bright, so Alicia averted her gaze to avoid being blinded, but other than that the light didn't seem to be doing anything.
[Rumi Dorei. Quirk: Light. She can emit light from her body, shining it in all directions or directing it near a certain area. She is also able to alter the brightness, intensity, and wavelength of the light she emits.]
"Rumi's Quirk isn't good for much outside of being a flashlight." Misumi said. "But being the genius that I am, I found another fun little use for her Quirk. Since she can alter the intensity and wavelength of the light she creates, she can create various types of light. This includes sunlight, and of course… moonlight."
Alicia widened her eyes, seeing where Misumi was going with this. Beating her wasn't enough. Misumi's goal was to utterly humiliate her, just as she had done in junior high.
"What's taking so long, Rumi?!" Misumi asked. "Hurry it up!"
"S-Sorry! It's just a little difficult to alter it to a specific wavelength." Rumi replied nervously.
"I don't care, just do it!"
"I see you found new people to boss around at your new school." Alicia muttered.
"Anyone would be honored to be near an elite like myself." Misumi told Alicia. "Even someone as worthless as Rumi here can be useful with my help."
Rumi finally adjusted the wavelength of her light to match that of moonlight. "There. This should be correct."
A few seconds passed with nothing happening. But soon, Alicia felt her body begin to change. The sensation she was used to only experiencing at night. Fur began to grow on parts of her body and soon her transformation into her semi-beast state was complete.
"I haven't seen this look on you in quite some time. Of course, it's hard to forget such a hideous freak like you, werewolf." Misumi told her. "Kazuha, you're up!"
The second girl with them nodded her head and stared at Alicia. Her right eye glowed a deep blue and shined a light on Alicia. Meanwhile, her left eye lit up with a yellow color.
[Kazuha Kotonori. Quirk: Video. Her right eye acts as a video camera, creating a live feed, while her left eye can create monitors to show what her right eye is seeing.]
Monitors came up all around the field, showing the feed of Alicia. Some students who were in the midst of battle paused for a moment and looked at the video that showed Alicia completely helpless and in her semi-beast state.
Misumi pointed and laughed mockingly at Alicia. "Now everyone here knows your secret, Alicia! The hideous side of you that you've kept hidden for so long is finally out in the open! You'll never be able to deny what you are! An ugly hideous freak!"
"... Unbelievable." Alicia muttered out.
"Oh, I'm afraid it's very believable. Cause it's exactly what's happening right now!" Misumi told her. "Go on! Beg for it to stop! If you ask nicely, I might just listen!"
"You don't get it." Alicia said. "What's unbelievable is the fact that I was intimidated for so long by someone who was this stupid."
Misumi's gaze quickly turned into a glare. "What was that?"
"You made two very stupid mistakes, Misumi." Alicia said as she began to try and force herself free from Misumi's hair. "The first was thinking that I hadn't gotten over my demons. Cause I hate to break it to you, but I stopped caring about whether or not people see this side of me awhile ago."
"What?"
"And here's your second mistake. Having your classmate shine moonlight on me in an open roof stadium on a sunny day." Alicia added. Light began to shine from her hands. "Because all you've done is give my body access to sunlight and moonlight simultaneously."
Misumi gasped as Alicia shot out sunlight from her fingertips, burning through her captor's hair. Alicia freed her legs next. She had never really had a situation as unique as this. When the sun went down and the moon came out, all the sunlight in her body would become null and void and she'd transform into her semi-beast state. Similarly, when sunlight touched her body when there was no moonlight out anymore, she changed back to normal and could fire off blasts of sunlight again.
And as it turned out, if both sunlight and moonlight were shining on her like this, it gave her access to both sides of her Quirk at the same time.
"I no longer need to have your approval to feel good about myself, Misumi." Alicia told her. "Because I have the approval of people who matter much more." Her mind went to all of her friends and classmates at U.A. Her teachers, as well as the pro hero Eternal who had taught her so much during her internship. And of course Chieko, the girl who she had saved when they were both captured by a villain. "I have their approval that my appearance is nothing to be ashamed of! And that means more than yours ever could!"
"Rumi, what are you doing?! Switch off your Quirk you idiot!" Misumi quickly yelled.
"R-Right!" Rumi nodded. As she was about to turn off the light shining from her body though, she was hit by a powerful blast of sunlight from Alicia that sent her flying back. She stopped the light shining from her body as she laid down on the road.
The second moonlight stopped shining on her body, Alicia could already feel her body beginning to revert to normal. She would only have a precious few seconds left with the physical boost from the night-half of her Quirk and she intended to use them.
"Damn you!" Misumi shouted. She sent all of her hair flying towards Alicia, planning to bind her up completely. But before it could reach her, Alicia leapt into the air with all the force her legs would give her.
Putting both of her hands near each other, Alicia began to form a large cluster of sunlight in between her palms. Once it was fully charged up, she aimed it directly at Misumi's hair.
"Solar Cannon!"
Calling out the name of her ultimate move, Alicia fired off a powerful blast of concentrated sunlight. It burned directly onto Misumi's hair, turning the part it hit from a dazzling blonde to a charred black.
"My hair!" Misumi screamed in horror. Her eyes lit up in pure rage as she glared at Alicia with more hatred than she had ever felt before. "YOU BITCH!"
Alicia fell towards Misumi with her right hand already forming another cluster of sunlight. But as much fun as blasting Misumi at close range sounded, she had a different plan in mind. She aimed her open right palm at Misumi.
"Solar Flash!"
Rather than firing out sunlight as a beam like usual, Alicia had the gathered sunlight in her hand burst out and create a blinding flash of light, similar to a flash bang grenade. Caught off guard by the attack, Misumi found herself completely blinded. She brought her hands to her eyes. "Ah! My eyes! Damnit, I can't see! Rumi, Kazuha, do something!"
"Solar Flash is a blinding attack." Alicia explained as she landed right in front of Misumi. "Leaving you completely defenseless for THIS!" Swinging her fist forward with all her might, Alicia punched Misumi right in the gut. The blonde girl flew back a few feet before landing painfully on the street. She was knocked out cold.
Alicia turned towards where the girl with the video Quirk had been standing, only to see her already running away. Alicia decided to let her go. She already had two people here for her to get defeats from.
Taking out a ball, Alicia lit up all three of Misumi's targets, failing her old friend. Alicia then walked over to Rumi, who was just now recovering from the blast Alicia had hit her with. When she noticed Alicia standing over her, she accepted her fate.
"I'm sorry." Rumi said, unable to look Alicia in the eye.
"You know, you don't have to be Misumi's lapdog. You have a great Quirk, and you're skilled at using it." Alicia told her as she touched her ball to Rumi's targets one by one. "You may think you need her, but really it's her that needs you."
Rumi said nothing as Alicia turned around and walked over to the thick cloud of smoke cutting her off from her friends.
"I hope the others are ok."
A few seconds later, the cloud of smoke began to vanish. When it was finally gone, Alicia saw Dan, Sarah, and Fiona all standing together with their targets blinking with the same blue light that hers were. Scattered around the three of them were the Seiai girls that had ambushed them, all knocked out and lying on the road.
"Looks like you didn't need our help after all." Sarah commented.
"Course not." Alicia replied. "I see you three were busy."
"Eh, they were nothing. We actually went a bit overboard and took all of them out." Dan said. "But hey, we all passed and that's what matters."
"Yeah." Alicia nodded. "Let's go see if anyone else from class is waiting for us."
"Phew. I think we finally lost them."
Daiki glanced out the window of the building he was in. He watched as another school passed by them outside. After they were gone, he moved away from the window and over to the three classmates of his that he had managed to escape with. Lilina, Nene, and Vivi.
"Man those other schools just wouldn't quit. I thought we were finished when we fell from the pathway Hyde made." Nene said.
"It's a good thing Vivi swooped in to save us and slow down our fall." Lilina commented.
Vivi blushed in embarrassment. "I-It really wasn't anything that special."
"We've still got a big problem though." Daiki reminded them. "We're severely outnumbered compared to the other schools moving around. And we have no clue where any of the others from our class are so we can't meet up with them."
"For now, we should try and come up with a plan now that we're out of the open." Nene suggested. "Let's move up a few floors and get a better vantage point."
The other three nodded in agreement. They began making their way up the stairwell, going all the way up to the fifth floor. Once there, the only path available to them was a set of doors leading into another room.
"There could be enemies on the other side of those doors. Stay on guard, everyone." Daiki said.
The group of four carefully made their way to the doors. After each of them gave one final nod of confirmation, they burst inside. The inside was a long open room that seemed to go almost all the way to the other end of the building. At first glance, there was no one else with them. That quickly changed however when a figure zoomed from the side with balls in hand. Everyone took aim, but no balls were thrown when they saw who the other student with them in the room was.
Shinobu.
"Oh it's just you, Shinobu. Don't scare us like that." Nene said with a sigh of relief.
Shinobu lowered his arm after his classmates did the same. "Of course you all would end up here. Though I suppose I should be thankful I'm not dealing with a whole group on my own here."
"How're you doing so far?" Lilina asked. "Right when the exam started, you went off on your own."
"I managed to get the drop on another school, taking out one of their students in the process." Shinobu explained. "But as I made my escape, I got attacked by another school as well. Being swarmed by two schools at once made getting away difficult, and there were few openings to counter attack. So one of my targets ended up getting hit."
"So you just need one more defeat to pass." Daiki realized. "In that case, how about teaming up with us. With the five of us working together, we can-"
"No thanks."
Nene showed a pout upon hearing this. "Geez, didn't you learn anything in the final exam? You can't do everything on your own."
"That was different. I acknowledged the fact that there are obstacles far above me as I am now. But against enemies of roughly the same experience level as me, I can handle things all on my own."
"Shinobu-"
"I said I don't need your help!"
"Q-Quiet everyone!" Vivi said in a loud whisper. "I think I hear something."
Everyone fell silent and listened carefully. True to Vivi's word, the sound of footsteps could be heard coming up the stairwell. The fact that they could hear them meant the enemy group was only a floor or two lower than them right now.
"Did they find out we're here?" Nene wondered.
"They could just be trying to get a good vantage point like us." Lilina suggested. "Let's stay quiet and see if they pass this floor by."
The group quickly hid themselves behind a wall as the footsteps grew louder. With any luck, the other students would simply continue up the stairwell past the floor they were on. If anything, that would give Daiki and the others an advantage of being able to trap them up there with no way to go downstairs. But if they stormed the room they were in with a full 20 students, they would have a lot of difficulty overcoming that numerical disadvantage.
Shinobu was at the rear of the group. He couldn't help but be annoyed by this whole situation. He was working solo because it allowed him to move quickly and he wouldn't have to worry about others slowing him down. But now his classmates were here and had possibly brought a massive wave of enemies along with them. He just needed to take down one more student. After that, it wouldn't matter how surrounded he was. And that was why a surprise attack was his best option while hunting other schools.
But then it hit him. The rules never said the examinees had to defeat students of different schools.
All four of his classmates had their backs to him. And he had a relative idea of where their targets were during the brief conversation they had. If he acted right now, he could take one of them by surprise, get his final defeat, and pass the first exam. It was such a simple and easy plan, yet for some reason he hesitated.
'Why? What's holding me back? It's so simple. Just take one of them out and I pass. Who cares if they fail?' Shinobu thought to himself. All that mattered was passing this exam. And the number of spots remaining was getting dangerously small. If he failed again, he couldn't even begin to imagine the disappointment his parents would have for him. He couldn't go through that again.
Shinobu slowly reached out his hand holding a ball towards Vivi, the closest one to him. 'Enough. Forget about them. Winning is all that matters. Nothing else… Nothing…'
The ball came closer and closer to Vivi. Shinobu's hand shook with hesitation. Why did he care about eliminating a classmate in order to pass? He had never viewed any of them as anything other than enemies. There could only be one Number 1 Hero, and that was his goal. Everyone else was simply an obstacle between him and that title.
So why was he hesitating?
As Shinobu stood there frozen, he suddenly felt the ground beneath him feel strange. He looked down and saw the floor at his feet melting away. Before he could even react, he felt himself begin to fall to the floor below.
"What the?!"
Behind the door at the exit behind them, another student smirked as he watched his Quirk do its job. "Hehehehe. Let's see how you handle this, U.A."
[Sakuto Slimue. Quirk: Swamp. He can make the area in front of him turn into a swampy substance that makes others sink into it. The wider he makes it however, the shallower it is.]
'Normally, this depth wouldn't make you sink that much. But if it's deeper than the thickness of the floor, you'll just fall down anyway.' Sakuto thought to himself with a smirk.
Shinobu felt his body sink into the odd substance. Within a couple seconds the entire floor between him and the door behind the group began to drop together to the floor below. If he fell from here, he'd be screwed.
"Shinobu!"
Out of nowhere, Shinobu felt something latch onto his arm. He looked up and saw Vivi gripping both her hands around his right arm, struggling to hold onto him. Nene, Lilina, and Daiki were holding onto Vivi to keep her from falling down with Shinobu.
"Wh-What are you doing?!" Shinobu exclaimed.
"What does it look like, you idiot?" Nene asked.
"Huh? Did you hear something?"
"Yeah. I think there's people on this floor. Let's take 'em out."
"Everyone, get ready."
'Crap. They heard us.' Shinobu thought. "Just let go! At this rate, you'll fail too! You don't owe me anything!"
"It's not about owing you something! We're classmates!" Daiki told him. "That means we're in this together!"
"Just hang on Shinobu… We'll pull you up…" Vivi said as she struggled to hold on.
Shinobu couldn't understand it. He had no special connection with these people. He hadn't done anything to make them feel indebted to him. So why were they helping him and leaving themselves open to an attack from behind from the students that were likely to come barging into the room any second?
"I said I didn't want your help." Shinobu said as he grit his teeth. "I can win here all on my own."
"Just shut up about that already! You sound like a broken record!" Daiki yelled. "Nobody can do everything on their own! You may be the top of the class, but that doesn't make you or anyone else perfect! So stop being so stubborn and let us help a friend out!"
"No one can do everything on their own. People need each other, Young Reikon. No matter how strong someone is, there will be times that they need the help of another. And that's nothing to be ashamed of."
All Might's words came back to Shinobu in that moment. Even the Number 1 Hero was saying that working alone to do everything was impossible. If that was true… could his philosophy be wrong?
"Almost there…" Nene grunted.
As he was pulled up, Shinobu swung up one on his legs onto the floor still there and pulled himself up with the help of his classmates. At that moment, he saw the doors burst open and a large group of students came rushing in. And Daiki and the others still had their backs turned from trying to pull Shinobu up.
'They risked failing to save me. I can't let that be in vain.' Shinobu charged up a psychic blast in his left hand. But this was different from his usual form of attack. This was a new technique he had mastered during his ten days of training for this exam. 'Not a compressed blast. Imagine it as a flexible cluster of energy that I can shape at will.'
"Psychic Wave!"
With a wave of his arm, Shinobu sent a wide thin stream of his Quirk flying towards the incoming students. It was like a blade of wind. The attack slammed into the students and knocked them back, giving Daiki and the others the chance they needed to turn around and fight back.
"Leave this to me! I'll restrain them!" Daiki said. "Voltage Web!"
Rather than transforming his whole body into electricity, Daiki transformed just his left arm. He then shaped it into the form of a net that enveloped the rival school. The second their bodies came into contact with the electricity, they were electrocuted and knocked out.
Daiki turned his arm back to normal. "That should do it."
"That was awesome Daiki!" Nene said. "I didn't realize you could shape your electricity."
Daiki grinned and rubbed the back of his head. "Yeah, well it wasn't easy. The training camp over the summer really helped me get a lot better with controlling my body when it's turned into electricity."
Shinobu walked over to the unconscious students. "Well I suppose I would have been in trouble if you all didn't help me just now. So… thanks I guess."
Lilina showed a sly grin. "You just can't be honest with your feelings, can you?"
"Just shut up already." Shinobu sighed as he lit up the targets of one of the students. He hated to admit it, even if it was just to himself, but he was beginning to see what All Might was trying to tell him.
The other four walked over to the students and lit up the targets for two students each. With that, all five of them had passed.
"I can't believe we did it!" Vivi said with a bright smile. "I was afraid we were going to fail for a minute there."
The targets for the U.A students lit up with a blue light as an electronic voice spoke through them. "Those who have passed should go to the waiting room."
"Well, no use standing around here." Daiki told the group. "Let's get moving."
Behind the emergency door in the back, Sakuto snuck away. "Well, well, they certainly did better than I expected. Seems this group has some skills after all."
Daiki's group walked through the doors of the waiting room and headed inside. There were already several students from various schools that had passed. As they looked around to see if anyone else from their class was there, they noticed Sakura running their way.
"Hey! You guys made it too!" Sakura said. "That's great!"
"Nice to see you passed too, Sakura." Lilina replied. "Anyone else here?"
"Yeah. With you five, the only ones still left are Satoshi, Marcus, Kenji, and Melody." Sakura told them.
"I think the last announcement said that 72 people had passed so far. They better hurry." Daiki said.
The U.A students found the rest of their friends that had passed and were busy chatting with each other and recovering from the grueling first exam. As time went on, more and more students walked into the waiting room. The number of spots left was getting smaller and there were still people from their class that had yet to pass.
Soon, another update announcement was heard. "And that's 89 people that have passed now! Woo! Keep up this excitement everyone as you hurry to fill the remaining spots!"
"Geez, where are they?" Shiro wondered. "I'm really starting to worry."
"Well isn't that sweet, Shiro?"
Upon hearing the familiar voice, Shiro and the others from his class turned to the doors and saw the remaining four students from their class. All of them were grinning triumphantly.
"That's everyone!" Sakura cheered. "All of Class C passed the first exam!"
The four of them ran over to their friends and exchanged congratulations. Even though their goal from the start had been for all of them to pass, everything that had happened so far made that a little hard to believe in. But they had done it. All twenty-one students of U.A's Class 1-C had passed the first exam.
A few minutes later, an announcement was heard. "And that's 100! All the spots just filled up! For those that have passed, the second exam will begin shortly! For those that failed, you will unfortunately have to withdraw! Please leave promptly!"
Dan scratched his head. "That's gotta suck, hearing that you failed from someone sounding so enthusiastic about it."
"Heh, well those losers just weren't up to snuff compared to us." Hyde said with a grin.
Thirty minutes were given for the remaining students that had just passed to come to the waiting room, and for them all to relax briefly before the second exam. An electronic key was provided to remove the targets from everyone's bodies. It wasn't a long time for those that had just passed, but after the stressful first exam everyone was thankful to get even a moment of relaxation for the mind and body.
Eventually, the time came for the second exam. Images of the field came on the television sets in the waiting room. Daisuke's voice spoke out to the examinees.
"Alright you hundred examinees that passed the first test! Please turn your attention to the monitors for info about the explosive second test!"
At first, everyone simply figured Daisuke was being overdramatic as usual. But they soon found out that the term "explosive" was a very literal description for what was coming their way. Explosions occurred all over the field, causing buildings to collapse, rockslide to occur, and many other disasters. In the span of a few seconds, the field they had taken the first exam in was turned into a scene of hell on earth.
"What the hell are they doing?!" Hyde exclaimed.
"This is the second and final test! All of you will perform rescue exercises as bystanders in this disaster site! You will all be acting under the assumption that you have received your provisional licenses, and will be tested on how well you can carry out suitable rescue procedures!"
As they watched the scene unfold, Hikari narrowed her eyes. "Wait a second… there are people in there!"
The others soon realized Hikari was right. People dressed up as elderly and children were moving about the disaster site.
"These are people who have undergone training to be professional people-in-need-of-rescue! They're in high demand right now!" Daisuke explained. "The Help Us Company, or H.U.C for short!"
'Professional people-in-need-of-rescue? That's a new one.' Dan thought silently.
"The people from H.U.C. have dressed up as injured victims and are on standby throughout the disaster site! All of you will be carrying out their rescue! You will be scored on points and if you have more points than the benchmark by the end of the exam you pass! We will start in ten minutes so please use this time to visit the restroom and take care of any other business you have at the moment!"
With that, Daisuke fell silent. It was certainly an extravagant display for the start of the second exam. Rescuing civilians in the wake of a large scale disaster. And on top of that, their explanation for how they would be scored was vague. All they could do was try their best.
Fujino was the most nervous among her class. She had sat in on hero training classes at U.A so she had seen what rescue exercises were like. But she had never actually participated in one. She was going into this with the least experience out of everyone here.
'And it doesn't help that my Quirk is such a destructive one. I won't be able to use it during this exam.'
Ten minutes passed by quickly as an alarm rang through the room. Daisuke spoke up once again. "Villains have begun a large-scale terrorist attack, heroes! It's occurring in all areas of "City Name Here"! Buildings have collapsed, resulting in many people injured! Oh, the humanity!" The room began to open up, just like the start of the first exam. "Due to heavily damaged roads, the first group of rescue workers have been delayed! Until they arrive, the heroes in the area will lead the rescue efforts! Work hard and save as many lives as you can! And… START!"
With the signal to begin, everyone rushed out and began making their way into the disaster site. There wasn't a second to lose.
"Let's split up and head where our Quirks will be best!" Sakura suggested.
"Right!" the rest of the class said together.
Remembering the different areas of the field from the first exam, the students went into smaller groups and headed towards advantageous terrains for them to show off their skills. It was their last obstacle towards earning their provisional licenses.
The second exam had begun.
A/N: One exam down, and one to go. Next chapter will wrap up the provisional license exam. After that, it will be an original arc so look forward to that readers.
