That Monday Hawk was waiting for Hayden at school. Since she was grounded she didn't know anything had happened at the dance. Hawk hugged her.
"Did you miss me or something?" She asked smiling.
"Why didn't you tell me Hayden?"
"What are you talking about?"
"I know it was Kyler who hurt you." "It's ok, you don't have to be afraid anymore." "I took care of it."
"How did you find out about that?"
"It's not important, what matters is I took care of it."
"He did grab me by my hair but it was Tory that tipped me over."
"She was there to?"
"Yeah."
"What did they say to you to make you not want to tell me?" "They threatened you didn't they?"
"No." "They threatened you." "Kyler said they would kill you."
"Oh."
"Do you see why I didn't want to tell you now?"
"Yeah but you didn't have to worry." "I can handle myself." He kissed her.
When they saw Kyler later that day his face was covered in bruises.
Hayden had been grounded for two and a half weeks. She was going crazy. She missed having her electronics but she missed spending time with Hawk the most. Hayden got out of her chair and sat down on the couch next to Cole.
"Hi dad." She said.

"I love you."
"I love you too." "No."
"No what?"
"You want something and the answer is no."
"I just want Hawk to come over." "You can keep everything, I just want him to come over." "Please, please."
"You have to stay downstairs."
"We will." "Will you call him and him to come over?"
"Yes."
"Thank you." She kissed him on the cheek.
"You're welcome."
Hawk came over within the hour. He sat down on the couch with her.
"Hi." She said.
"Hi." They kissed. "Can we go upstairs?"
"No you can't." Cole said from behind them.
"Hi Mr. Porter, thanks for letting me come over."
"You're welcome." "Don't make me regret it." "I'll be in the garage." "Remember your mom is sleeping so be quiet."
"We will." Hayden said. Cole left.
"How did you get him to let me come over?"
"Easy, I'm his daughter and he loves me." "Wanna watch a movie?"
