Braxton House - Outside
"If you're here to have a go at me, then can you save it for another time?" Kyle sighs, knowing it was coming after she told him how protective her father and brothers were.
"I'm not here to have a go at you, you haven't done anything wrong." Reece says. "If it helps, I'm on your side."
"She's your sister, you should be on her side, not mine." Kyle frowns, wanting to know why he'd be on his side when they barely knew him.
"She shouldn't have lied to you about Brent. I warned her about leading him on, about not doing something about how obsessed he was with her. He'd always be there when we'd go home from a family day trip, or when we went for meals. It was too much but she just kept saying he was being friendly." Reece says.
"He was like that with us." Kyle mutters, rubbing the side of his face. "It doesn't make up for the fact that she never smiled so much when she was with me, but she did with him. She cared about him more."
"She hasn't stopped crying since things ended between you." Reece says. "I woke up at three the other morning because a song came on that was apparently playing when you first kissed her, she woke the whole house up."
"Was there a song playing when I first kissed her?" Kyle frowns, thinking back to it and remembering there was, but he hadn't been paying attention to it. "That doesn't mean anything."
"She's made a timeline of everything you've done together from the first time to the last thing you did on your trip away, she used all of her favourite pictures of you." Reece says. "Now I would never say a bad thing about my sister, but this is turning her into a crazy person. I haven't seen her like this after a break up before and it's not normal."
"But we hardly did anything in the Gold Coast because she spent nearly every second of it with Brent." Kyle says. "I can't forget about the fact that she spends more time with him than she did with me."
"Kyle, you're not getting the point here." Reece says.
"What is the point of this?" Kyle asks. "To make me feel bad for putting myself first over Emily, when she lied to me and didn't see a problem with doing so."
"I'm here because you were the best guy she's been with, I haven't seen anyone else make her as happy as you did. I understand where you're coming from with Brent, but it was manipulation and after she turned him down for good the other day… She's in hospital and wants to see you." Reece says.
"Hospital?" Kyle frowns. "What happened? Is she okay?"
"He got mad that she chose you and attacked her. We got there in time, she just had a concussion and a broken arm. It could have been so much worse if we didn't find her in time. She's already made a statement to the police and pressed charges. The officers said he'll be facing a prison sentence due to the severity of his obsession and assault." Reece says. "She told the police about his behaviour since they first met, about the manipulation, stalking, harassment…"
"How can you even be sure they'll take it seriously when she couldn't see what was going on?" Kyle asks, feeling a little sick that he couldn't help prevent it from happening.
"The police recovered his laptop, found pictures of her on it dating back to when they first met. She didn't even know about half of them. Those pictures he took for the 'lingerie photoshoot' were for personal gain. He was blackmailing her with them." Reece says. "She wants a chance to apologise properly to you, she may have lied about a little more than she let on because she couldn't bear to lose you."
"What else did she lie about?" Kyle asks. "And don't lie to me as well, I'm done with people doing that."
"She slept with him more than once and the last time was just before you two started dating. She never looked at any other man like that because you were the one she wanted." Reece says. "She wants to be fully honest with you, that's if you'll give her a chance."
"I don't know if I can." Kyle says, pacing a little. "She knew how… I guess insecure, I was about relationships after the past and she still chose to lie to me. I just… I'm sorry that this has happened and I hope she starts to feel better soon, I just can't see her."
"Okay, I understand." Reece nods. "If you change your mind, you know where we live, just come on by whenever you want." He says, walking towards the gate when he stops to face Kyle again. "Just know that we don't hate you in any way, and we're sorry that she hurt you. You're a good guy and my sister was stupid to do what she did."
Braxton House - Inside
"Is everything okay?" Lucas asks as Kyle walks into the living room.
"Do you need me to kill anyone?" Brax asks.
"We'll give an alibi if you do." Casey says.
"Have you heard yourselves?" Kyle lightly scoffs as he shakes his head. "It's fine, Reece was just here to say Emily was attacked by Brent and she wanted to see me."
"Is she okay?" Casey frowns.
"Concussion and a broken arm. She told the cops everything he's been doing and he's apparently going to face jail time. Those pictures he took in the Gold Coast of her, he was blackmailing her with them." Kyle says.
"Dogs like that need more than prison time." Brax shakes his head.
"So are you going to see her?" Lucas asks, quickly adding "Sorry, I don't mean to get involved."
"No, I'm sorry if you thought I was aiming things at you cause I wasn't. It's been great having you around, even if you get on with my best mate more than me." Kyle says, smirking at him.
"You said you didn't mind that me and Blake hang out more than you." Lucas frowns.
"That's because I don't." Kyle says. "It's because he'll always be my best friend and not yours."
"Okay, I don't need round two starting." Brax says before they start arguing about it. "Kyle, do we need to change the plans by a few days or are you good to go ahead with it?"
"I'm so going ahead with it and you should not be asking that or Ric-" Kyle stops himself before he says too much. "Ricky will complain that I'm being too moody around the house."
"Yeah, she will." Brax says, faintly glaring at him.
"Seriously, what is this between you two?" Casey asks.
"Nothing." Kyle shrugs, frowning as Casey pulls him close.
"Then back off a little." Casey harshly whispers. "I'm his favourite brother, not you and you won't ever be."
"Now Casey, there's no need to be like that." Kyle smirks, knowing Casey wouldn't feel threatened if he knew the truth, although it will probably be worse when he does find out. "They thought I needed cheering up a little, so should you baby bro."
"Don't call me baby bro when you're now the baby brother as well." Casey glares, angrily folding his arms.
"No I'm not." Kyle frowns.
"We have four older brothers, me being the youngest of all of us. You're the youngest of your triplets which makes you the baby triplet." Casey says.
"Don't call me the baby triplet." Kyle glares, not wanting that to be his new nickname.
"But you are." Lucas says.
"Don't you start! I'm not the baby triplet when I've only known about it a short while. I'm not the baby triplet!" Kyle moans. "Now stop talking about it because I've got some stuff to do."
"Like what?" Lucas asks as Kyle merely looks at him.
"Stuff that can't be said." Kyle shrugs.
"In other words it's private." Brax says, shoving Kyle towards the hallway before he said even more. "Now don't you two have a night out to get ready for? Cause you didn't find cover for no reason."
"Yeah." Casey says, staring at him as Lucas heads to his room. "I will find out what you're hiding."
"You don't threaten me, Case. The worst thing you've ever done to me is stabbing me with a pencil when you were four, and it didn't even leave a scratch because it was blunt." Brax says.
"I'll use something sharper next time." Casey says with a grin.
"Of course you will." Brax laughs. "You'll be the one that will be sent straight to prison and I won't be bailing you out." He says.
"We both know you will, you always will." Casey says.
"You keep believing that." Brax shakes his head as he pulls his phone out to see how long Ricky was going to be.
