34. Chapter 34

Triss Merigold teleported to Rissberg. She saw the illusion and whipped it away with an angry gesture and a grunted spell. She saw the beasts and the wizard. She went to the closest koshchey and walked around it, looking for the metal plate as Yenna had instructed and finding it near the neck. She took a small dagger and pried it away. She repeated this process four times, then went through the carnage left behind by the explosion to find the others. Finally, she pulled Ciri's sword out of the biggest beast's head.

Then Triss Merigold went outside the castle walls and concentrated. Fiery explosions shook the ground and sent off pillars of smoke and sparkles as theys shredded the castle of Rissberg to pieces. As she conjured, she screamed, but there was no-one to hear her agony.

The explosive fireballs kept falling from the sky long after the castle had collapsed into a heap of rumble.
