The duel between Soto and Shun started out fine, but that is starting to change. Shun keeps describing what happened to him. It all sounded horrible, but the duel is still going. Shun has 3400LP and he's got his Battlize-Raptor: Mach Falcon with 100atk points. Soto has nothing on his field and has only way to 2600LP.
"Come on, Soto. Just try and get out of there." Yukin said.
"What about winning the duel?" Eli said. "He has a chance to bring another member of LID down."
"Shun's not even a real member of LID." Zoey said.
"It doesn't matter at this point if Soto wins or not." Yukin said. "That Shun is a dangerous guy. I care more about Soto getting out of there in one piece." None of them were liking the sound of this, but all they can do is watch.
"You're a brutal guy." Soto said. "However, I don't see myself losing here. It's my turn now. I draw!" Soto drew his next card and he liked what he saw. "I'm going to start by summoning Elegant Dancer Levy Foxtrot to the field!" He summoned out a new elegant dancer. This one was female wearing an orange dress and wore a fox-like mask. She also had 1200atk points. "Levy Foxtrot just hates being lonely. That's why when she's the only monster I have on the field, I am allowed to draw two cards." Soto drew two more cards. "Look at that. One of the cards I drew was her partner: Elegant Dancer Harry Foxtrot!" He summoned out another male dancer with him wearing an outfit that matches Levy and wore a fox mask as well. He had 1400atk points.
"Soto is turning this into a real dancing party." Nemo said. "Maybe I should start taking lessons."
"I think it's time I plucked that bird's wings. Levy, take down that Mach Falcon!" Levy used foxtrot-like movements to try and attack. Mach Falcon flew around to avoid her attacks.
"By sending Battlize-Raptor: Shield Owl to the graveyard, Mach Falcon can't be destroyed this turn." Shun said as he discarded a card. A barrier came around Mach Falcon and Levy bounced off it. Still, Shun took some damage as his life points dropped to 2300.
"I might not be able to destroy your monster, but I can still deal damage." Soto said. "Harry Foxtrot, it's your turn!" Harry tried attacking Mach Falcon himself, but he just bounced off the barrier himself. It still cause damage as Shun's life points dropped to 1000.
"Soto seems to have turned the tables, but will he be able to keep it up?" Nemo announced.
"I place one card facedown to end my turn." Soto said. "I must say that you were able to block that pretty well. You still took damage, but you were able to protect your monster."
"That's what we've been doing." Shun said. "We desperately try to hold on, protecting every little bit we have left."
"Will you stop talking like that? No one cares." Soto said.
"You mean like how enemy didn't care what happened to us?" Shun said. "Well, I'm going to make sure they pay for what they've done. Every last one of them will pay for what they did."
"Pay? Is he talking about getting revenge?" Yukin questioned. "That's not why he should be dueling."
"I agree, but I think the days of dueling for fun are gone with these people." Zoey said.
"I don't like this." Alyssa said.
"Me either." Yuzu said.
"Soto, you better end this soon!" Eli shouted.
"It's my turn!" Shun said as he drew his next card. "I activate Battlize-Raptor: Mach Falcon's special ability! I use one overlay unit and to increase Mach Falcon's attack points by the grand total of all your monsters' attack points!" Mach Falcon used it's second overlay unit and began taking power from both of Soto's monsters as it rose to 2700. "Mach Falcon can also attack every monster on your field."
"It can attack everyone?" Augustus said. "Wait. If it can attack every one of Soto's monsters, how much damage are we looking at?"
"Mach Falcon has 2700atk points." Nathan said. "By attacking Levy Foxtrot, who has 1200atk points, that would make 1500 points of damage. By attacking Harry Foxtrot, who has 1400atk points, that's 1300 points of damage. That's a total of...2800!"
"Oh no! That's enough to defeat Soto!" Siegrain said.
"Battlize-Raptor: Mach Falcon, attack with Blazing Mach Strike!" Shun shouted. Mach Falcon flew down in a blaze of fire.
"Not so fast!" Soto said. "Harry Foxtrot's ability activates! When you attack it when there's another Elegant Dancer on the field, he gains 400atk points." Harry's attack points rose to 1800. "It might not save them, but I won't lose all my life points." Mach Falcon crashed down and caused an explosion to go off and caused much destruction. Both monsters were destroyed with Soto's life points dropped to a mere 200. Shun and his falcon flew out of there, but no one could believe the destruction that just happened.
"Oh man. I can't believe that actually happened." Siegrain said. "This is starting to look a little too real."
"It's just like what I saw before." Zoey said as she remembered seeing Drewsin duel against Sylvester and how the damage was real.
"It is real." Yukin said as he remembered how real that falcon was. "It's not the reality generator. Shun is somehow creating real damage." This duel was getting scary and hard to watch. Soto might be lucky to make it out of this alive.
"I place one card facedown to end my turn." Shun said as he looked down on Soto. "This is what will come to anyone who will get in my way. I will never stop until the enemy is defeated."
"Will you just zip it?!" Soto said. "No one cares about your life story. You want to know why? It's because no one really cares about you!" Soto looked up and he had a crazy-look in his eyes. "You think I'm going to lose? Not a chance! I'm not losing to the likes of you! You think you can defeat me?! Think again!"
"Soto?" Yukin said as he saw something was different about Soto.
"You were no match for us before and you're no match for me now!" Soto shouted.
"I knew it." Shun said as he glared at Soto. "You're really one of them, aren't you?"
"Maybe I am. All you need to know is that I'm going to crush you!" Soto shouted. Soto wasn't acting like his playful self anymore. He's acting more cruel and obsessed with winning. "It's my turn!" He drew his next card and it was a monster that he needed. "I summon Elegant Dancer Fria Tango!" He summoned out Fria as she came out with 1000atk points. "I activate Dancer Fusion! Since I have a monster on the field, I can fusion summon with it and what's in my deck! I fuse Fria Tango with a second Phantom Dancer that's in my deck!"
"He's got a second?" Yuzu asked.
"I'm more concerned about how he's acting." Siegrain said. "Something's wrong. Soto isn't acting like himself."
"What's gotten into him?" Zoey questioned. Soto summoned out a second Phantom Dancer as the two of them began to fuse together.
"Dancer of romance and dancer of mystery, these two together will make you history! I fusion summon Phantom Dancer Scarlet Despair!" Soto claimed. He summoned out a woman wearing a black formal dress with red trimming. She also wore a black mask with red hair all held back on her head. She also had 2800atk points. "I activate Scarlet Despair's ability! She can banish one monster until the end of the turn! Say goodbye to your only monster!" His monster fired red beams from her hands and sent Mach Falcon away with Shun landing on the ground. "Finish him! Crush his hopes and spirits! Show him why he never stood a chance! Attack with Scarlet Devastation!" His monster danced around as she formed multiple energy rays and launched them all at Shun.
"This could be it!" Yukin said as it looked like the end, but not the end any of them were hoping for.
"I activate my Battlize-Raptor Flag trap!" Shun said. "It stops your attack!" A barrier was formed around his trap and was able to block the attack. "I won't allow myself to be defeated by the likes of you."
"You don't have much of a choice." Soto said. "What can you really do?"
"I'll show you!" Shun said. "I'll start by having my Mach Falcon back. It is the end of your turn."
"Fine." Soto said as his turn officially ended and Mach Falcon came back. "It can't do much without overlay units."
"It doesn't need to." Shun said as he drew his next card. "I activate Rank-Up Battlize-Raptor Force! This spell card allows me to use a Battlize-Raptor xyz monster to summon another Battlize-Raptor that's one rank higher! Go, rank-up xyz evolution!" Mach Falcon became energy and dived into the vortex as a new monster came in it's place came a new monster. "Burning with a raging fire, this raptor takes to the skies to destroy all enemies! I summon rank five Battlize-Raptor Burning Falcon!" He summoned out a red falcon-like mecha with blue feather-like pieces on it's wings with it having a 1000atk points.
"What did it just do?" Jenny said.
"I've heard of it, but I've never seen it before now." Gus said. "He summoned an xyz monster that's a higher rank by using Mach Falcon. Since he used Mach Falcon, it became an overlay unit, and any overlay units that it would have had became Burning Falcon's."
"I activate Burning Falcon's special ability!" Shun said. "I use one overlay unit to destroy one of your monsters!" His falcon took one overlay unit and the feathers became drones. They fired a series of lasers that destroyed Scarlet Despair and did some damage to the surrounding area. It was all hard to watch.
"Soto! Shun! Stop it! This isn't right! This isn't how you duel!" Yukin shouted as he saw all the destruction and mayhem go on. This goes against everything True Duel stands for.
"Burning Falcon has another ability. It gains half the attack points of the monster it destroyed with this ability." Shun said as his falcon's attack points rose to 2400.
"No... No! I can't lose to the likes of you!" Soto shouted.
"Battlize-Raptor Burning Falcon, attack him and finish this duel! Avenge those who have fallen!" Shun shouted. "Attack with Blaze Assault!" His falcon had it's drones line-up and fired a series of lasers. There was nothing Soto could have done to stop it. He got hit by the lasers as he was blown back and was blown right through a building with all of his life points dropping to zero.
"Soto!" Yukin shouted as they were all horrified with what they saw.
"It's... It's over..." Nemo said as he was just as shocked at what he saw as everyone else. "Shun has won this duel..." The duel field began to return to normal, but Soto looked really hurt.
"Soto!" Yukin called as he and the others hurried to help him. Shun felt like Soto got what he deserved as he turned away and left Soto there.
"Get back here..." Soto said as he tried to get back up. "I'm not done with you..." He wanted a rematch, but Soto ended up passing out.
"Soto!" Yukin said as he and his friends got to help him, but this wasn't looking good. "Soto! Soto! Hang in there!"
"This doesn't look good. We need to get him to a doctor." Zoey said. Yukin glared at Shun as he walked away.
'What was that all about? What was Shun trying to do? What got into Soto back there?' Yukin thought as none of this made sense to him. All the destruction, mayhem, and insanity was hard for him to see. That's not what he thinks dueling is about. Shun's days of dueling for sun seem to have ended a long time ago. It looks like their days of dueling for fun are about to reach their end as well.
