It had been about three days since Umbara. Thira put it her letter of resignation yesterday. And the purple bruising had yet to go away.
I stood at the bridge of the negotiator staring at the planet.
"It's all clear sir there are no separatist craft in the system." Cody said over the comms.
"It's been ten rotations since master Yodas transmission. I just hope we're not to late." Skywalker said
"Rex take us down" Kenobi said.
"Yes sir" Rex replied.
All of the umbaran clones under Krells command were still slightly shaken their unease lingered.
We landed on the planet and I marveled at it's beauty. I was accompanied by Cody on the bike.
We took of into the heart of the city it was practically empty.
"Anybody else think it's too quiet? I haven't seen any colonists." Ahsoka said
"They're probably hiding." Skywalker said
"Let's hope they stay hidden. It makes our jobs easier if we don't have to worry about them in battle." Kenobi said
"I don't like it. The clankers have never been shy about using civvies as living shields."Rex said.
"I'm sure they're here somewhere"Skywalker said." Let's make for the city center."
We picked up speed. Biker droids coming out infront of us
"Biker droids dead ahead." Ahsoka said
"Squad tighten up" Skywalker ordered." Form on me"
Cody and Rex opened fire on the droids. Ahsoka stood igniting her saber blocking blaster shots. Before dipping down into the gun.
"We're all clear master" she said.
We opened fired at the droid blockade. Rex fired a launcher at a tank. Ahsoka lept from the bike landing on the tanks tossing in two grenades before leaping back onto the bike.
"Captain have your men secure the area" Kenobi said Rex nodded. I watched as the troops poured in.
"How are we doing boil" Kenobi asked
"We're still mopping up droids here and there we've established a perimeter around the Governors tower. No one gets out without a fight." Boil said
"Good work." Kenobi praised"Cody any word from the seperatist commander?" Kenobi asked.
"He's barricaded inside his name is Darts D'nar. He has sent you a message, sir."Cody pulled out a holocam
"Master Kenobi, come to the tower. We will negotiate terms for surrender." D'nar said. I glared at the hologram.
"Well that was easy." Kenobi said. The hologram whipped out of Cody's hand and into Skywalkers. The air crackled with anger and fury. The umbaran survivors watched Skywalker intently.
Zygerrian scum. I'll handle that slaver."Skywalker snarled. I watched Ahsoka poke her head up .
"Anakin he asked for me. I need you to locate the missing Torgruta colonist."Kenobi said calmly.
"Fine. I'll have Admiral Yularen initiate a planetary bio-scan." Skywalker said. R2 cooed.
"Why is he so upset?" Ahsoka asked
"Anakin has never talked about his past, has he?" Kenobi said
"Only to tell me he won't talk about it." Ahsoka said
"As a child, Anakin and his mother were sold into slavery by the Hutt clans." Kenobi said
"Oh and these Zygerrians they're slavers?" She asked.
"Some of the worst" I said
"Anakin has struggled to put his past behind him." Kenobi said
"Don't worry. I'll keep an eye on him." She said .
"Yes make sure you do" Kenobi replied.
I watched Kenobi walk into the tower. I shivered slightly.
Skywalkers comlink chirped.
"No you are wrong Jedi." D'nar said
"Am I?" Kenobi sassed." Your no doubt aware your droid forces have been destroyed and you are surrounded. Do the honorable thing and give up now D'nar. I promise you will receive fair treatment."
"You've broken through my defenses. You think you've won. Think again. I have planted bombs all over the city. No one will survive" D'nar threatened."now surrender."
"If your not bluffing then I must concede, but you'll have to make considerations. First you release the colonists." I listened intently as Kenobi spoke through the comm.
"Here is my counteroffer." D'nar said. A building beside us exploded. I covered my head as the ground rocked.
"Medic" I shouted. I knelt beside a clone trooper"Easy your alright the medics on his way take a breathe." I soothed.
"I've got it Lils" Kix said running over. I stepped back.
"Cody w don't have time for the planetary scan. Hook r2 up and he'll locate the bombs." Skywalker said
"Right away, sir." Cody replied.
"Ahsoka let's go" Skywalker said
"Where are we going?" She asked
"To disarm the bombs while Obi Wan negotiates." The two of them took off.
"How's it looking Rex" I asked as he searched the buildings for colonists.
"It's empty." He shouted.
We continued our search of the buildings. I watched a droid fly out the window of the governor's tower. It exploded mid air. I watched Kenobi rush out of the tower and followed after him.
I watched a ship take off.
"No offense but you look like crap" I told him. Taking in his disheveled appearance and black eye and the way he gingerly held himself.
"Thanks" he sassed.
"You sure you alright." I asked
"I'm fine." He replied I stopped pushing and we waited for Skywalker and Ahsoka.
About an hour passed and the three Jedi went and spoke to the council. I waited and studied from afar.
Most of the Roses workers were slaves Thira and I saved from all over they all told tales about the horrors of the Zygerrian empire and we were about to dive right into it. I shuddered at the thought
