"That ungrateful, spoiled, brat! After everything we've done for her!? She's a disgrace to this whole family!" Odalia said.

She looked at her wrapped finger and wrist. Humiliating, her an all-powerful witch, beaten by... by a... by a human! It was powerless, it was weak, and it... it managed to break her finger with relative ease. She looked over at Alador who was looking at the lit fireplace.

"Alador?"

Nothing.

"Alador!"

Alador looked at his wife with an emotionless expression.

"Yes, Darling?" He asked.

"Don't you agree? Were you even listening?"

"To be honest... no. No, I wasn't. Please, repeat that." He said.

"I was talking about how Amity is being a disgrace to our family name by helping that... thing!"

"You mean the Human?" He asked.

"Of course, I mean the Human! Amity and whatever its name is-"

"Luz."

"What?"

"Her name is Luz. Luz Noceda." He said, picking up a book, "Maybe it's the concussion talking but, I'm impressed with her fighting ability."

"Alador, do you realize what you're saying? She's a terrorist!"

"And we are nothing more than horrifying child abusers!" He said.

"What are you talking about?"

"Think about what Amity said! We don't care about our children! We never have! She right, we paraded them around like they were a prize! We're the reason they've joined the Rebellion!"

"You've gone mad." Odalia said.

"Maybe I have, but think about this, when was the last time Amity smiled? When was the last time Edric asked for help on something? When was the last time Emira looked happy when you brought her suitors?"

"I don't see what the big deal with that was." Odalia said.

"Titan, how can you be so damn dense! She's a lesbian!"

"What? Why wouldn't she tell me that?!"

"Because they're afraid of you!" He stood up and put the book under his arm, "Until you come and join me on the other side of insanity, I'll be sleeping in the guest room. Think about what I've said."

He left her alone in her chair. She looked into the fire and thought about everything she's done since the twins were born. Was she really that bad? She shook her head and stood up. She was just paranoid; she'll be better in the morning. At the Rebel base, previously known as Hexside, Amity sat at Principal Bump's desk. She reached inside and pulled out Luz's Apple Blood. She unscrewed the top and started drinking it.

"You know, if you want to have drunk sex, you could at least let me get a head start." Luz said.

Luz walked up to the desk and sat on top of it.

"Rough day?"

"We were kidnapped... by my parents. Yeah, it's been a rough day."

Amity took a swig from the bottle and put it on the desk. Luz took it away from Amity.

"Okay, that's enough." Luz said.

"Oh, that's rich, the alcoholic telling me that I've drank enough." Amity said.

Luz laughed and started drinking from the bottle.

"I'm a smart alcoholic." Luz said, "Maybe what you said finally got through to them."

Amity reached for the bottle.

"I think YOU'VE had enough."

The next morning, Odalia walked to the door to see who was knocking. She didn't sleep at all last night, her mind kept thinking about what her husband said. She opened the door and instantly kneeled.

"E-E-Emperor Belos! I wasn't expecting you!"

"You may rise Odalia. I came here because I thought your house might be a target for the Rebellion. It seems that I'm too late." He said, motioning to Odalia's broken finger.

This was it; she could tell the Emperor that her finger was broken by the Human.

"It was..." She closed her eyes, "I simply tripped and fell down the stairs."

"I see. Well, if that's all, I'll be on my way." He said, "I hope you're not lying. It would be a shame if... something... were to happen to your twins."

Odalia kept a straight face but inside, she was screaming. She closed the door and released a breath she didn't know she was holding.

"Care to join me on this side of insanity?"

She looked over and saw Alador. She smiled at him.

"I believe I am."
