Ch 34

Standing at the path that leads to the home of her grandparents, she felt Gar's warm hand slip into her own, giving her the confidence to move forward with him towards the door. She could feel Gar's nerves and uncertainty about what they were walking into but she also felt his support, which meant so much to her.

The sound of the doorbell brought footsteps to the door. An old woman came to the door, her eyes the color of Raven's. She seemed confused at first but then recognition set in. "You must be my daughter Angela's child."

"Did Aunt Alice tell you about me?"

"We spoke through letters. We're not on the best of terms, but she told me about you when you discovered we were alive. God knows why she did such a thing, but you're here now. I'm Agatha Roth. I'm sure you have questions."

"I do," Raven said as she saw her grandmother's eyes linger on Gar. "This is my fiancee Garfield Mark Logan. He can shapeshift into many different animals."

"I'm well aware of your time as a Teen Titan," she said as she looked at Gar once more.

"It's nice to finally meet you, Mrs. Roth," said Gar.

"You may both come in," she said as she held the door open for the couple to enter her home. "My husband Gabriel has business to attend to, so he won't be home for hours," she said as she lead them to the living room to sit down.

"What was my mother like before I existed?"

"Well, she was a quiet child, which was unsettling and she was perfectly content with her face buried into her books. She didn't become troubled until her teenage years when she strayed from God. She was a smart girl, full of potential but she slept around with any boy who would give her attention. Her father and I tried to get her back on the right track, but she wouldn't listen to reason. As soon as she turned 18, she was gone. We never saw her again. I had to find out from my daughter Alice through a letter everything the happened since Angela left. My first born daughter is dead because of all the terrible decisions she made in her life."

"Maybe she would have made better decisions if you had been a supporting and loving mother," said Raven as she stood up with Gar right behind her. "I'm sorry. It was a mistake to come here."

"It appears you've been following in your mother's footsteps, lying with a monster."

"He is NOT a monster. You are!" Raven yelled, feeling the rage inside her threaten to come out but it was calmed by her fiancee's touch. She had felt his rage too, but he was able to calm himself to calm her.

"I'm beginning to understand why Alice didn't want us to come here," said Gar. "Let's go Rae." Before the couple could make it to the door, it opened to reveal an old man. "You must be Gabriel?" he said.

"Yes, you must be Garfield. My daughter Alice keeps me up to date about my granddaughter's life," he said as he looked at Raven. "She didn't want us to be a part of your life."

"Did you even care about my mother?" asked Raven. "I'm sure she left here at 18 because she didn't feel valued or loved by you or your wife."

"How dare you make such outrageous accusations? We loved Angela, but she became lost to us once she strayed from our lord and savior. I mean look at you. You were born because your mother fell into bed with the evil creature from hell, who disguised himself as a handsome man. Angela should have known better, but she was always too needy."

"If you had loved your daughter unconditionally, then none of this would have happened. You abandoned her when she needed you the most," Raven yelled. "She was your child, and you both failed her."

"Get out of my house!" screwed Gabriel.

"Gladly!" Raven said as she took Gar's hand and walked out of the house, never looking back.

The couple found themselves at a diner in Gotham, led by a waitress to their booth. Once they were seated, Gar thought on his feet and ordered Raven some herbal tea and water for him to start. Looking at his fiancee, he noticed she had been staring at her lap. "Raven," he said softly.

"It was a mistake. I should have listened, but I—

"Needed to know for yourself. I understand Rae but now you're hurt."

"I'm sorry about—

"No Raven," he said as he watched her hands move from her lap to hold his, "you have nothing to apologize for. They're completely at fault."

"If they had only loved my mother the way she was, I wonder—

"Wait a minute, aren't you always telling me that it does no good to dwell on the what-ifs of life?"

"My mother could never love me, knowing what I was. My grandparents did the same to my mother what my mother did to me," she said as she pulled her hands away from him.

"That may be true Rae, but you rose above your past, above your pain. You've come such a long way Raven with the help of some friends and a dashing, young green guy, who is totally utterly, and unconditionally in love with you. I know what happened will hurt for a while, but I'm here. You'll never be able to get rid of me," he smiled as he got from his seat in front of her to sit beside her.

With his arm around her, Raven leaned into his body, seeking comfort. Before she could get too comfortable, the waitress returned with their drinks. It was then that she heard Gar order her some waffles and himself some tofu eggs and toast. "Thanks, Gar," she smiled.

"Anytime pretty lady," he smiled before kissing her cheek.

"Don't get any funny ideas Garfield," she said as she felt his hand move up and down her back.

"And here I thought you wanted me to ravage you in from to all these people," he smirked.

The lights were on in the home of Dick and Kory as Gar and Raven made their way to the door. It was Gar's idea to visit the married couple since they were in the neighborhood. Before Gar could knock, the door opened and the face of his best buddy met his eyes. He was confused but glad to see Vic nonetheless as he let the couple in.

"I'm glad you're both here. I was actually thinking about calling you, but—

"Victor, what is going on?" asked Raven.

"Friend Raven, friend Gar, you are here!" exclaimed an excited Kory as she hugged them.

"Well, it's a good thing you're both here," said a very concerned Dick. "Gar, there's something you need to know."

"Ok, you guys are scaring me? What's going on?" asked Gar.

"The man discovered dead in that warehouse in Jump City wasn't Nicholas Galtry. Turns out it was one of Galtry's henchmen. How he persuaded his henchmen to go under the knife is beyond me."

"H—how is that possible?" asked Gar, who felt he was about to be sick to his stomach.

"He's been spotted here in Gotham. We think he's been following you and Raven here."

"Then why did you let us in?" asked Gar. "We shouldn't even be here. It's too dangerous. You don't know what that monster is capable of."

"Gar's right. This was a mistake," said Raven. "We should g—

"What are you two hiding?" asked Dick.

"It's nothing you need to concern yourselves with," said Gar.

"Like hell Gar!" exclaimed Vic. "We're more than friends, we're family and family always has your back."

"Well, I don't want you, Dick or Kory, to lose your families. This guy isn't just a villain. He's a monster. He won't hesitate to kill anyone who gets in the way of what he wants. He'll torture you and enjoy every second of it. He has men, who are ready to carry out his orders. This isn't a guy you want to cross. I'm sorry I brought you all into this. He's my problem, and I need to deal with it once and for all."

"What does that mean Gar?" Karen as she walked into the room.

"It means it's time to go," said Gar as he turned towards the front door, feeling the soft skin of Raven's hand in his.

"I hope you weren't thinking of leaving me behind Garfield Mark Logan," said Raven.

"I couldn't even if I wanted to Rae," he smiled sadly.

"Before you go, you might want to know where he was last spotted," said Dick as he handed Gar directions. "If you need us, if you get into trouble, you know who to call," he said as the couple nodded in understanding before leaving the house.

They didn't get far as Gar felt the hairs on his body stand on end. He could tell Raven was sensing something as well as her powers formed in her clenched fisted hands. With his nose to the air, he knew what they were about to encounter but another scent caught his attention.

"Galtry's not alone. He's brought a friend," said Gar.

"Can you tell—?" Her thought was interrupted by a feeling of dread and anger as the two shadows coming towards them became more clear. "Adonis," she spat with hate.

"Miss me feisty?" he smirked.

Gar growled. "Why are you working with HIM?"

"Easy, he promised me Raven if I helped him take you down," said Adonis.

"Well, I hate to disappoint you but she's not yours to have," he said and then looked to Galtry. "You won't be taking me anywhere Galtry. This ends right here, right now."

"It seems you are a lot stronger than when we were last together, but that won't change a thing, Garfield. You will die if it's the last thing I do!"

"Why, what did he ever do to you?" asked Raven.

"He wouldn't die. Every time I thought I had ended his misery as a monster, he would open his eyes and look at me like I was doing something wrong. The monsters of this world need to be put down."

Raven felt like she couldn't contain the rage inside her any longer, so she let go as her body grew and her eyes turned to crimson. "Then allow me to put you down!" she yelled as she grabbed him, looking him dead in the eyes, she could smell his fear and she loved it as she made a decision. "You will NOT hurt Garfield anymore," Raven said as she impaled through his head.

"HOLY SHIT!" exclaimed Adonis.

"Raven," was all Gar managed to say as he watched Galtry's dead body fall to the ground. Carefully walking over to her, he realized she was still in a rage as her eyes went to Adonis.

"YOU!"

"Raven stop! You don't want to do this," he said as he stood in front of a trembling Adonis.

"Oh, but I do Garfield," she purred. "If I don't stop him permanently, who will?"

"You told me you didn't want to go down this road Raven and now I feel like I've led you down it further. I'm sorry. I love you, Rae, please don't do this, enough blood has been spilled. Adonis isn't even worth your time." He watched as she opened a portal and dropped the dead body into it, the blood on the grass disappeared with her power like nothing had happened.

Feeling herself return to normal, she felt her body falling out from under her but not before Gar caught her in his arms. "Wh—what have I done?" she said before burying her face into his chest, feeling the tears run down her face.

Adonis was long gone, but Gar didn't care. His only concern was the trembling woman in his arms and how his past had come back to hurt her. "I'm sorry," he said.

It was a beautiful night as Gar sat on the grass with his fiancée clutched to him. Looking down, he realized she had fallen asleep. Standing up with her in his arms, he headed back to Dick and Kory's, knowing any evidence of the crime was wiped away by Raven's magic. Now he knew he would have to come up with another lie to cover this up.

"Gar, what happened to Raven?" asked Vic.

Gar hadn't realized he had made it back until the worried eyes of his best friend bore into his own. "She exhausted herself. I think she needs some rest, and she'll be as good as new.

When Gar got Raven all settled into the guest room bed, he went into the bathroom, dropped his clothes to the floor, turned on the shower, and stepped inside. Before he could do anything, he felt his body start to tremble as his hands pressed up against the wall, trying to calm his body. He was surprised when he felt a pair of hands run across his back. "Raven?" he said as he turned around to face her. "I—

"No," she said as her hand went up to caress his face, "it was my choice. I would choose it again in an instant because of what he did to you because I love you."

Gar could feel his heart beating loudly against her wet, naked chest as his arms wrapped around her waist, pressing her even closer to him. Feeling her arms wrap around her neck, his lips moved to her ear. "I love you so much, Rae."

"Garfield," she moaned, the feeling of his warm breath on her ear giving her pleasure.

When his eyes met hers, he knew what he wanted. "I want you, Raven."

Their lips met in a heated kiss as their tongues decided to explore each others' mouths. Holding tightly to each other, they made out in the shower until the water grew cold. Turning off the water, Gar carried his fiancee to the bedroom, lied her down on the bed, and started loving her from her neck to her chest, taking extra care of her beautiful, plump breasts.

"G—Gar, plea—please!" she begged as her eyes caught his and she knew he would do anything to please her when he moved from her breasts to her stomach, and then he stopped before his mouth moved inside of her at a pace that brought her to ecstasy. She heard herself sigh as she orgasmed.

Moving back up to her face, she smiled as their lips met up once again. Gar lied down next to her and smiled back at her. When Raven moved from her lying position to straddling his waist, Gar knew what she wanted as he gripped her hips in his hands and impaled her on top of his member. Seeing the discomfort on her face, he got worried. "Rae, are you—?"

"Ju—just let me adjust," she said as his hands let go of her waist. "I—all—all right," she said as she started to move up and down on him at a normal pace, hearing their moans meld together in pleasure. When she picked up the pace, she felt his hands move back to her waist gripping her, making her bleed but she didn't care. All she wanted was to feel his touch on her skin. "G—Gar—Garfield!"

"R—Ra-Raven!" he groaned as he orgasmed inside her. When her body fell onto his from exhaustion, his arms went around her, pressing their sweaty bodies together. "I love you," he said, kissing her on the head while stroking her back.

"I love you to Gar," she said as she managed to lift her head, kiss him briefly on the lips, and lied back down on his chest, feeling sleep take her over.
