And we are back with another daily update! It warms my heart to see more people immersing themselves into the QQ archive now that the anime is over. Mr. Narrative a.k.a. Jeffmen101 has joined us and boy, am I glad to have him on board in the QQ archive! I do hope that more writers join us, and let's all keep this fandom active and strong together! Last chapter, nothing much happened except for the quints all agreeing that Fuutarou can hold study sessions in their home instead of his own. We also got Ichika admitting that she wants to see what Fuutarou is like, and followed by Itsuki and Yotsuba revealing what they know to their sisters. We'll find out more about that here then!
Guys, if you want good QQ fics, I recommend you check out Xenotime39 and his Go-Toubun no Hanayome AE story. Only few people have seen his story that it boggles my mind, when he is really good in writing, maybe even better than me! Trust me, check him out and you won't regret it. You'll even come to thank me, lol.

The atmosphere between the Nakano quintuplets became quiet after Itsuki spoke those words, and nobody dared to say anything to disrupt the silence that followed. One could drop a pin there, and it would be heard by everyone due to how quiet it became. Even Yotsuba and Itsuki, who were well aware of why their siblings were so quiet, didn't say anything for now.
It was properly justified too, because what Itsuki said quickly struck them to the very core, and caused all of them to be unable to respond in any way. The two initially thought that it was a natural reaction due to shock, but when it reached a full minute without any word from their sisters, Fuutarou's students were immediately filled with worry.
Unless there was some way to explain the blank looks on their faces that didn't change for one whole minute, to the point that it didn't seem like they were blinking at all, then something has gone terribly wrong!
Oh no.
What have they done?!
Itsuki looked at Yotsuba in worry, who also shared the same expression as they began feeling nervous. This wasn't how they wanted things to go! They were only planning to surprise their sisters, not cause them to get placed in cryostasis!
"Are you all okay…?" Itsuki asked weakly, fearing that they did something wrong by telling them this without warning.
Everything went completely quiet after Itsuki's question, causing her and Yotsuba's worries to grow stronger. Yep, they screwed up big time. Better lead them to their bedrooms carefully before they fall over and hit their heads or something… they'll just continue this conversation tomorrow and hope that this won't happen again…
"YOU'RE GOING TO ASK US IF WE'RE OKAY AFTER DROPPING SOMETHING LIKE THAT?! YOU MIGHT AS WELL TOLD US YOU CONFESSED TO UESUGI OR SOMETHING!" Nino shouted out with shark teeth as her eyes turned completely black, making both Itsuki and Yotsuba shrink in fear.
Never mind.
They were okay. Apparently, they just needed a minute or two to process what Itsuki said.
"W-Well, it was supposed to be a surprise…"
"Yeah, we wanted to surprise you guys with it, hehe…"
"Too much of a surprise it seems," Miku took a few deep breaths to recover from the shock she just experienced, before mimicking a plane dropping a bomb with her hands. "It felt like we were Nagasaki and Hiroshima all over again with that bomb you just dropped."
"We apologize. We could've done a better way of revealing such a thing! We didn't think that all of you would have this reaction!" Itsuki said, as her and Yotsuba quickly bowed their heads in apology.
"No, I think it's quite expected," Ichika waved their apology off, managing to calm herself after being put in a state of disbelief for a while. "After all, you did mention Mom and pretty much anything that involves her will get a reaction like that from all of us. I'm sure you two were the same when you heard it the first time."
"You're not wrong there, Ichika…" The two youngest of the bunch thought to themselves, being reminded of how they reacted to everything that Isanari revealed to them.
"Alright, alright, before we go crazy about this bomb that Itsuki just dropped on us, let's take this to the couch. I don't think we can talk about this matter peacefully while we're still standing over here."
Realizing the logic behind Ichika's words, the rest of the girls nodded and they all took their seats. Itsuki and Yotsuba sat beside one another since they were the ones with full knowledge of the situation, while the remaining were sitting across them.
Now that they were comfortable where they were, Ichika gestured for the two to continue on with their words, while Nino and Miku had passive looks on their faces. It seemed like they were still unconvinced about this revelation and they weren't going to crazy about it just yet.
Yet.
"All right, Itsuki. Tell us again what you said earlier just to see if we heard you right."
"Uhm, w-were having dinner with Uesugi-kun and his family, then Yotsuba and I found out that his father was a friend of our parents when they were younger?" Itsuki answered, feeling nervous in saying it all over again compared to her earlier demeanor.
Of course, she didn't want her sisters freezing up again as if the next ice age was going to happen, they'd have to find acorns before that!
"Well, it looks like we heard Itsuki-chan right and our ears weren't playing tricks on us," Ichika sighed in defeat and shook her head slowly. "As confusing as this is, it does make this discussion a lot more interesting than before."
Nino clicked her tongue loudly and stomped her foot, sending their two sisters a look of suspicion. "How can that happen? Papa never told us that him and Mama were friends with Uesugi's dad! Heck, as far as we know, Papa doesn't even have any friends, let alone from high school! It's gotta be bullcrap!"
"But that's the point, Nino. Papa never told us anything because he's not with us that much. Even if we ask, I don't think he'll answer us either. But Uesugi-san's Papa answered everything we asked him earlier! We ended up learning so much more about our own parents when it was finally time for us to go home!" Yotsuba continued, supporting Itsuki's claim with her own words.
Ichika nodded slowly, assuming a thinking pose before continuing to speak in a calm voice. She had to remain composed for everyone, of course. "I see that, but how can you be sure that Uesugi-kun's dad was telling the truth? Did you trust him right away when he said that he knew our own parents? I'm not calling anyone a liar here, but it seems too much of a coincidence that our dad is friends with Uesugi-kun's dad. That man's son happens to be your tutor too, by the way."
"It's not like that at first. Like you, we didn't really believe Uesugi-kun's father. Wait, no, that's wrong… he only told us more about Mother during dinner…" Itsuki tried to recall the events that happened earlier at Fuutarou's home, before her eyes widened in sudden realization. "Oh, yes! I remember now! He was the one who asked about Father the moment we introduced ourselves! He asked us if we were his daughters the moment he heard our surname. When I expressed my doubt regarding his words about being friends with Father, he mentioned Mother as well!"
This sent a wave of shock towards the three other girls, to the point that none of them made any kind of sound for the next few moments. That was completely different than what they initially had in mind. They were thinking that Fuutarou's father asked about Maruo, which he then followed up by saying they were friends or something. It would make perfect sense that he was just making it all up then!
But to deduce that their father was Maruo Nakano just from hearing their surnames… it was different.
"Really…?" Ichika asked, managing to find her voice while Miku and Nino were both speechless.
Yotsuba nodded eagerly, before using different gestures to emphasize her next words. "Yeah, and he even knows what Mama looks like! He said he thought that we were Mama when we walked inside Uesugi's-san's house! We didn't even say anything much about Mama when that happened!"
"We said that Mother was the only person whom Father has met in high school, which, as you all know, is the only memory that he told us about that goes back to when they were teenagers," Itsuki continued. "Like what Nino said earlier, Father never said anything about meeting other people. However, Uesugi-kun's father proved that wrong when he convinced us that he truly knew our parents just from saying their names even though we never mentioned who they were."
That did it. Ichika couldn't maintain her calm facade for long and surrendered herself to disbelief, as her jaw slowly dropped to further show her surprise.
Miku was in the same boat, only that she remained quiet and didn't seem like she wanted to say anything else. However, it was very clear from her dumbfounded expression that she was listening very closely to her sisters' explanation for all of this.
"Well, it looks like you two have met some interesting people lately…" Ichika hummed to herself, taking a moment to process all of this before shrugging her shoulders. "I suppose there's no reason to doubt you after that."
"What?! Ichika, you can't be serious! This is Mama we're talking about! You're really going to believe the words of an outsider about our own parents?!" Nino cried, snapping out of her own stupor as she turned towards the short-haired girl in shock.
She couldn't believe that the eldest among them, who would always look at things in a logical manner, was giving in that quickly when this could just be a ruse to fool them.
"Nino, what more do you want? This outsider you're referring to thought that our own sisters were Mom instead, which makes sense because we all take after her mostly. There's no way you can reach that conclusion without knowing what Mom looks like," Ichika explained calmly, already expecting Nino to stay stubborn and deny their sister's words. She then shifted her attention towards Itsuki, wanting to confirm something that she thought about just now. "Uesugi-kun's dad got it right the first time, right?"
Itsuki nodded slowly. "Er, yes, we were caught off guard with it as well… it was just after he told us a few things about Father, which includes their relationship in the past."
"See? What other proof do you need, Nino? This just makes me want to talk to Uesugi-kun more, especially if his family is somehow connected to ours," Ichika smirked at Nino's flustered expression after Itsuki's confirmation, before turning back towards their youngest sister. "It must be some weird stroke of fate, Itsuki-chan?"
Itsuki blinked. "W-What?"
"Think about it! Our parents somehow knew Uesugi-kun's father from high school, and you met Uesugi-kun himself during our first day! I suppose you two are truly destined to be together since our families are connected, eh~?" Ichika smirked, finding this as a good chance to tease the youngest among them.
Now that she and Yotsuba have told their sisters everything important that needed to be said, Itsuki mental defenses weren't enough to protect her from Ichika's teasing!
"Ichika, it was just a coincidence that we met last week…!" she denied hotly, her face slowly turning red from clear embarrassment.
There we go, there's the Itsuki-chan that Ichika knew.
"Anyway," Miku spoke up for the first time since snapping out of her trance earlier, causing everyone else to turn towards her. "Can we please continue? I'm interested to know what Uesugi's dad said about our parents. It's been ages since Dad told us about what happened in his life before we were born, and it was about how he met Mom. And even so, he gave us a really short summary on the whole thing."
By the end of it, the third quintuplet flashed a smile, dropping her gloomy look in favor of learning more about their parents from Yotsuba and Itsuki. Now that they were reassured that this wasn't a trick or anything, there's no reason for them not to lend an ear and listen to what their two sisters learned from Fuutarou's father.
Ichika nodded, a smile appearing on her face as well. "Yeah, go for it, you two. I was planning to get some sleep the moment you get home, but you got my full attention with this. Let's hear what you have to say."
Itsuki nodded eagerly at her two sisters, before turning towards the last one with a knowing smile on her face. "Nino?"
With her arms crossed, Nino frowned at Yotsuba and Itsuki who were in front of her, before shifting her gaze towards her two other sisters sitting beside her. She remained quiet for a few more moments before letting out a loud groan of defeat.
"Oh, fine! I'll stick around and listen… not like I have anything to do right now and I'm not tired yet…" she muttered, turning her gaze away from everyone else.
"Nino, just admit it that you want to know more about Mom and Dad," Ichika chuckled at her sister's misfortune, patting her on the back softly. "No one's going to hold it against you."
"Shut up," Nino said sharply, but didn't say anything else and just turned her attention towards Fuutarou's students.
Itsuki smiled, pleased that her sisters will listen to them and they can have a long discussion about this along the way! One of the things she loved to do aside from eating was simply having long conversations with all of her sisters, no matter what the topic may be. It was one of the few ways where they can get together and engage in interesting discussions, and Itsuki loved it whenever it happens.
"Alright, we'll tell you everything. I can only hope that all of you won't react the same way we did…" she spoke, smiling in embarrassment by the end of her words.
Yotsuba had the same expression whilst rubbing the back of her head. "Yeah, hehe…"
The subsequent talk between the sisters afterwards would continue late into the night, but none of them really cared. Questions were asked and some were answered, while a few remained unambiguous that they could only presume. They shared numerous laughs as the minutes passed by and were either fascinated, amused, or surprised from everything they ended up discussing about Maruo and Rena.
By the end of it, all of the Nakano quintuplets were just happy that they could learn these new things about their parents, and it wouldn't have been possible without Fuutarou Uesugi.
…
…
…
You thought it was going to be Isanari, huh?
Nice joke. This is Fuutarou's story, not Isanari's.
…
No, seriously! He's the one who connected their families together. If Fuutarou had never met Itsuki that day, she wouldn't have asked him to be her tutor, and everything that has happened up until now wouldn't come to pass.
They would have never learned these things about their parents if that was the case.
~~XoXo~~
Fuutarou stood outside of his home, looking up at the moon that shone in the night sky. He had arrived home about an hour ago and upon going inside, Raiha and Isanari were just watching television while waiting for him to arrive. He declined the offer to join them, saying that he had something important to do.
Something that involved a certain old man who loves his anime.
After a quick change of clothes, Fuutarou went outside and stood there for about half on hour now to reach this point, his mind solely focusing on everything that happened today. So many stuff happened that it felt like half of this entire story so far has been dedicated to today's events…
Yotsuba hugging him in the grounds… their talk in the clinic… Nino giving him that bento… her sudden declaration in front of his classmates… her massive shift in her personality… Itsuki and Yotsuba bickering over him… his dad's past with the girls' parents… getting kissed on the cheek by Itsuki and Yotsuba at the station… and then remembering a particular memory from five years ago.
The young man continued to stare up at the moon, deeply buried in his thoughts until an elderly voice snapped him out of his trance, one that he recognized easily.
"You wanted to speak with me, Fuutarou?"
Fuutarou turned around, meeting face-to-face with the familiar aged man in a kimono while holding a staff in his hand. It was the God of Love and Fertility, or as the young man referred to him, the 'stupid old man'.
"You actually showed up. I was starting to think you were too busy with your Cowboy Bebop to notice me," he remarked whilst folding his arms across his chest.
The old man shook his head. "I finished that series a few days ago, including the movie. I'm watching Mobile Suit Gundam now, actually. Want me to show you the action figure I got at a raffle yesterday?"
"I don't care about your stupid toys. What I need you to do is answer my question," Fuutarou didn't waste time and proceeded straight to what he wanted from the deity. "The last time we talked, I asked you if there's some kind of reason why my soulmates are all sisters. However, you didn't give me an answer because you said it would be 'cheating', and that I'll have to figure it all out myself."
"I didn't?" The old god asked in confusion, scratching the top of his head before the memory of his last conversation with Fuutarou popped into his mind. "Oh yeah, I didn't."
"Anyway, I think I have figured it out. The reason why the Nakano quintuplets are my soulmates… is because they are the girls that I met in Kyoto back when we were kids."
The old god raised an eyebrow at him, unclear if it was out of doubt, suspicion, wonder, or even intrigue. He didn't care about that at all, and simply gave the old man a knowing smirk, because he knew that he hit it right on the nail with that one.
"Am I wrong?"
Fuutarou didn't even need to hear the answer from the old man, because there's simply no way that that meeting between him and those girls in Kyoto had nothing to do with this.
There's just no other way to explain how they shared the same face other than they were quintuplets.
Welp, I apologize if nothing happened for this one. I also apologize if I'm being too slow in my pace, but I absolutely cannot surpass the 4k mark when it comes to words. I might overstep my boundaries again and trust me, you don't want that. In any case, the other girls now know about their parents thanks to Yotsuba and Itsuki, while Fuutarou has one last talk with the God of Love that will continue next chapter, it seems. Just bear with it for a little longer, guys. See you tomorrow!
Goodbye... and good night! BANG! *too sweet gesture*
