A few months later Caleb comes in the door as Ty is standing in the living room putting some stuff into his backpack "Hey can we talk?" Caleb says as he looks at him
"I'd love too" Ty says as he looks at him "But right now I actually need to get over to the clinic"
"Well actually Cass was going to cover for you tonight" Caleb says as Ty looks at him "She's on her way over there now"
"Okay" Ty says as he puts his bag down as he sits down on the couch "What's up?"
"It's about you and Caroline" Caleb says as he also sits down on the couch beside Ty "You two have really got serious these last few months" he says continuing to look at him "But when Cass went shopping with Caroline and Lyndy the other day, afterwards she was talking to Cass, and she said that it just seems here lately that you have pulling away from her or holding back on her, whatever you want to call it" Caleb says as he continues to look at him "And I can't help but think that I've seen that before, in those first few weeks after you lost Amy"
"Okay I admit that I have been a little off these last few months" Ty says as he looks at Caleb "And it has nothing to do with Caroline, but it has a lot to do with me" he says continuing "The more serious that it's got with Caroline, I don't know I feel guilty"
"Guilty for what" Caleb says as he continues to look at him as Ty takes a breath
"The way I felt about Amy" Ty says as he looks at Caleb "I never thought I could feel that way about someone else, that I had lost that feeling forever the night I lost Amy"
"But you feel that way for Caroline now" Caleb says looking at him as Ty shakes his head "And that's why you feel guilty"
"Yea" Ty says as he turns to looks at him "It's just" he says as he try's to continue "You know what no it just sounds dumb"
"Listen man" Caleb says as he continues to look "We've been best friends for over two decades" he says continuing "And in all that time, we've both said a lot of dumb things, especially me, but I get the feeling that this isn't one of them" he says as Ty continues to look at him "So come on tell me what's going on"
"It feels like, like I'm betraying Amy" Ty says as he looks back at Caleb "And I know how that sounds, but it feels like I'm leaving her behind"
"Listen" Caleb says as he looks at him "I know Amy is always going to be in your heart" he says continuing "But I find it hard to believe that she would want this for you, for you to have all this guilt about moving on with Caroline" he says as Ty continues to look at him "And those memories the two of you made, well they aren't going anywhere" he says putting his hand on Ty's shoulder "But now your just making new memories with Caroline"
"Thanks" Ty says as he looks over at Caleb "For being there for me, you and Cass over these last few years"
"You know we're here for you whenever you need us" Caleb says as he smiles at him "Is that all that's been on your mind"
"Well actually, this is one of the reason's I've been acting the way that I have been" Ty says reaching into his pocket as he pulls out a ring box
"You're going to ask Caroline to marry you" Caleb says as Ty opens up the ring box
"I got the ring a couple weeks ago" Ty says as he looks at him "It's all that I've been able to think about" he says continuing "But this time you need to get the right suit the first time" he finishes saying as he gets up walking back toward the kitchen
"Hey" Caleb says as he gets up following him into the kitchen "I got it fixed didn't I" he says as Ty gets a glass of water "So what does Lyndy have to say about all of this" he says as Ty makes a face "Wait you haven't told her"
"I've been trying to find the right way to tell her" Ty says as he looks at him "She's been through a lot over the last few months" he says continuing "With settling into her life with David and then Kara and Charlie moving to Montana to help take care of her grandma"
"Yea I get it" Caleb says as he looks at him "But you do need to talk to her about this"
"I know" Ty says as he looks back at him
A little while later Lyndy is sitting cross legged on the couch in the loft on her cell phone "So you are going to be here for my graduation for vet school next week right"
"Of course" Kara says smiling as she sits on the couch in her and Charlie's house "You've worked so hard for this and I am so proud of you" she says continuing "I've missed you these past few months"
"I know" Lyndy says as she continues to talk "I've missed you too" she says letting out a little grin "But how is that goddaughter of mine doing"
"Oh" Kara says as she rubs her growing belly "I'm almost certain she may grow up to be a soccer player with all her kicks, but she's doing good" she says continuing "We did decide on a name though, Evelyn Rose" she says as Lyndy continues to listen "Ellie for short"
"I think that is a great name" Lyndy says as she continues to talk into the phone as she hears some footsteps on the stairs
"Yea after my Grandma Evelyn and Charlie's Grandma Rose" She says continuing as Lyndy see's Ty coming into their apartment
"Kara I got to go" Lyndy says as she fixes to hang up the phone "But I can't wait to see you next week" she says continuing "Alright talk to you later" she says hanging up the phone turning to Ty "Hi"
"Hey" Ty says as he finishes coming up the stairs "Where's David?" he says looking around the loft
"He had a late shift at the station tonight" Lyndy says as she looks at him "I thought you had a shift at the clinic tonight"
"Your Aunt Cass is covering for me" Ty says as he continues to look at her "So how is Kara doing?"
"She's doing good" Lyndy says as she gives him a curious look "They came up with a name for the baby, Ellie Rose"
"Well that's great" Ty says as he continues to look at her
"What's going on dad?" Lyndy says as she looks back at him
"Sweetheart" Ty says as he comes over sitting down on the couch with her "I wanted to talk to you about Caroline" he says continuing "And where her and I's relationship is going"
"Is everything okay with you two?" Lyndy says as she continues to look at him
"Actually everything is better then okay" Ty says as Lyndy continues to look at him "Sweetie, I want to ask Caroline to marry me" he says as Lyndy smiles at him "What?"
"I" Lyndy says as she looks back at him "It's just I kind of had a feeling this was coming, especially watching you and Caroline over these last few months"
"So how do you feel about it?" Ty says as he looks back at her "Because you mean more to me then anything and I don't want to do anything unless your on board with this too"
"Admittedly when I first starting noticing the two of you growing more serious it was weird at first, to see that" Lyndy says as she looks at him "But then I realized no matter what happens that mom is always going to be with me" Lyndy says continuing "But I also love Caroline, and I can't wait for her to officially be part of our family" she says as she smiles back at Ty
