Chapter 35 : Family of Faith
Callie's POV
Four months after the birth of this little jewel named William, our happiness was totally perfect. We both had adjusted our schedules to be there for our children as much as possible.
We had made together the two most beautiful things that existed on this planet and we wanted to enjoy every moment with them. We would have dreamed of being able to stop time so that the moments we lived could last forever.
There was nothing more beautiful and satisfying than watching Sofia hold her little brother in her arms and feed him.
We had nevertheless disturbed our usual habits to organize the baptism of our little baby boy. We had invited our whole family for this day that was going to be so special for all of us.
In the morning, while we were waiting for everyone to arrive at our house, I watched Callie prepare our baby for the ceremony.
William was a beautiful child with big blue eyes. He had a tuft of blond hair on the top of his head and above all, he had the same smile as his mother. He had Arizona's magical smile. That smile that could move mountains and made my days happy.
We got our two children ready, dressed them in their best clothes to make them look as elegant as possible and then we left for the airport to pick up our guests before going to church.
The first people we saw arrive were Arizona's parents. We hugged each other. Arizona's parents were truly extraordinary people. They always survived all the hardships of their lives with strength, courage, and resilience.
"Wow, he is absolutely wonderful." The Colonel said when he saw his grandson in the flesh for the first time. "He is a wonderful baby prince."
"I agree," Arizona's mother answered, "he looks so much like Timothy. He is basically your brother's look-alike."
"Speaking of which," Arizona proclaimed with a sparkle in her eyes and a smile filled with emotion, "I am pleased to introduce you to my son, William Timothy Sloane Robbins-Torres."
"Have you really named him Timothy?" Arizona's mother asked, as moved as her daughter, judging by the look in her eyes.
"Timothy was a wonderful human being, he was my best friend, my confidant and the most remarkable person in the world. I want my son to be influenced throughout his life by the role model that Tim was."
"Daniel and Barbara," I added, "even though I didn't have a chance to meet your son, please know that we will do everything in our power to make sure that our son will be as good as your Tim and that your son's memory will be honored."
"Callie," the Colonel approved, "I know you'll give everything for it. You are both excellent mothers and you raise your children perfectly. I am very proud to know that my son will not be forgotten and that his life will have left its mark on this planet. You are an extraordinary woman and you always know what to do to make my daughter happy. Thank you for being the person you are and thank you for making my daughter happy."
"Thank you." I said, deeply moved because I knew that Arizona's father was really not the kind of man to express his feelings out loud.
Arizona's POV
After this moment that had moved us all, we settled into one of the airport cafes so that I could breastfeed William. Meanwhile, Sofia drank hot chocolate and the rest of the group drank coffee.
About twenty minutes later, we saw Callie's parents approaching us. They were as moved as my parents to see the face of our child who had joined our family. They sat down next to us and ordered coffee as well.
At first, I felt that the atmosphere between Callie and her mother was still a little strange. However, after a few minutes of both of us being in the same warm group, things started to become a little more normal.
After a few moments, we saw Addison and Owen, our son's godfather and godmother arrive and they were the only people we still needed to go to our son's baptism.
Once we were all together, we got into a large cab that took us to a small church where we were finally able to present our child to God.
