Tamsin stared at her wall of weapons and absently massaged her abdomen. Although she had been out for quite some time and healed, she had been experiencing some sort of phantom pain, at least according to Lauren. This was usually associated with people losing limbs and feeling pain as if it is still there. For her, it was as if she was still feeling the pain from her previous life cycle. It was weird, but at this point, she had become accustomed to weird.

She reached for the scythe on the bottom and flipped it back and forth between her hands. "Maybe a bit much," she mumbled.

A pair of daggers caught her eye in the display case, and she placed the scythe back. These would be much better because if she indeed had to fight Bo to the death, she preferred it to be low-key. There would be no joy in her lover dying by her hand, and it certainly didn't need to be a spectacle.

After sheathing the daggers on her hips, she threw on her black leather jacket and headed downtown. She would be coming back triumphant with Bo on her arm or defeated with yet another death by her hand. Either way, she would be victorious. A weakened valkyrie had fought Bo before, but now she was back to what she once was in her prime. Whatever way things would fall, this was going to end on this night.

The Indigo managed to look just as dingy and derelict as it always had, but she couldn't deny the slight tug she felt at being back at her old watering hole. This place had been the one safe space she could find in the city, and it touched her that Bo had found refuge there as well.

"Well, now. There's a face I didn't think I'd see again."

Tamsin turned to Jake, the bartender, and gave him a pound. "Jake, my man. Let me find out you missed me."

He looked thoughtful. "More like, I missed the revenue from the amount of drinking you did here."

Tamsin laughed out loud. "Nice cover-up, but I know the deal. I bet this place has been lame ever since I stopped coming."

"Hmm, something like that," Jake said with a wink. He turned and poured out a shot glass of whiskey. "On the house in honor of your return."

Tamsin snatched it up and threw it back. "Thanks, I needed that more than you know. Listen, have you seen a woman around here. Short, brunette, likes to wear leather and dark eyeliner?"

"Oh yeah, you mean Bo. She's a sweetheart. I remember when she came here to meet you once. Started appearing here like a month ago."

Tamsin's heart sped up as he spoke. "Is she here tonight?"

Jake took a look around the bar. "She was here earlier, but I'm pretty sure she left."

"Damn it," Tamsin muttered under her breath. "Thanks, Jake. You'll be seeing me around again."

"I hope so. Don't be a stranger, Tamsin."

She made her way back outside and looked up and down the street. Although it was after 11 pm, plenty of people were strolling on the street. This part of town was where the partying happened, and the action often didn't kick off until after midnight.

Tamsin shoved her hands into her pockets and headed down the alley to her car. Yeah, she was still doing that. Battling for her life the last few months meant still no time to pay those God-forsaken tickets.

As she walked, she suddenly felt a presence, but no one was there when she turned. It may have been a while since she was in action, but her instincts told her someone was around. Her hands settled on her gun as she continued to walk. Whoever it was would soon show themselves.

The walk to her car was intense as she listened out for any movement. The person following her was light on their feet and good at dodging her gaze. She figured that they would most likely strike once she reached her car, and she wasn't disappointed. The moment her hand touched the handle to her car door, the air beside her was cut by a swinging object. After a quick dodge, she saw what it was; a bat. A bat that had smashed into her mirror instead, knocking it off its hinges.

"Fuck, now I'm going to have to visit the shop to fix that." Tamsin ripped her gun out of its holster and took the safety off. "Whoever you are, I suggest you come out, or I'm gonna start shooting up the place."

The figure crouched in the darkness but then slowly stood to its full height. As the person moved into the light, Tamsin's hand began to tremble.

"Bo?" she said softly.

Bo looked like her usual sexy self, but something was off. She was rocking her usual jeans and leather jacket with a sexy black shirt with a loosened ripped collar. But her eyes had dark circles underneath like she hadn't slept, and her face was scrubbed clean of any makeup. Still a beautiful woman, but she looked tired and out of it. Despite that, her succubus energy was coming off of her in waves, and clearly, her strength was still on point.

"Who the fuck are you?" Bo asked between gritted teeth.

"Who am I? Is that a trick question?" Tamsin said, putting her gun away. She raised her hands to show she had no weapons. "It's me, Tamsin."

"Don't fucking lie to me," Bo yelled, slamming the bat against the ground. "Every time one of you creatures appears, we play this same game, and every time I send you back by killing you. I'm tired. So just tell me what you want."

Tamsin let her hands drop. "Baby, it's me."

With a scream, Bo ran towards her and roughly shoved Tamsin into the brick wall. "I am going to suck the life out of you, but before I do, you can tell my father something for me. He may have had control over me for a moment, but I am back completely. And once I figure how to do it, I will destroy him, Danielus, and anyone else who has aided him. Odin will regret ever made me."

Her anger was palpable, and all Tamsin wanted to do was hold her close and let her know it would alright. Instead, she did the only thing she could think of to prove who she was. She reached out and grabbed Bo, pressing their lips together. At first, Bo resisted and tried to move out of her grip, but she let her body relax within seconds. Tamsin smiled as her hands gripped Bo possessively, bringing her in closer.

Breathless, Bo finally pulled back after letting the bat fall to the floor. "Is it you?"

"You know it is, or else I'd be a corpse right about now."

They stared at each other, both speechless. It felt strange to be in Bo's presence and not feel the weird mixture of fear and desire that had been a constant for months. Right now, she just felt at peace.

"I've missed you," Bo said, caressing her face. "Let's go inside and talk."

"Okay," Tamsin said without hesitation. When Bo grabbed her hand and began walking back to The Indigo, she was glad to be held because she felt like at any moment she could float away.

Jake smiled at them as they entered the bar. "Well, it looks like you found your friend."

"Yes, I did," Tamsin said. "You want something to drink?" she said, turning to Bo.

"Anything you want," Bo said softly.

Tamsin told her to sit while she ordered a couple of beers from Jake. She wanted something harder but decided to stick with beer. This would be the first time they spoke in the real world with Bo as herself in such a long time; it was necessary to remain somewhat sober.

After Jake poured them two mugs, Tamsin walked over to the corner table Bo was seated. She placed them down and took off her jacket. It was impossible to miss the look of lust that passed over Bo's face as she watched her.

"So Succubus, how have you been?" Tamsin said with a smirk.

"Tamsin," Bo said, her voice full of sadness. She stared down at the table. "I'm so sorry for what happened. You weren't supposed to die. I thought I could come out before that happened like we talked about."

"Bo, that wasn't you, and I knew there was a chance it could happen. That's why I made a deal with Isis, and it's why I'm here now." She reached out and took Bo's hand into hers. "I've already forgiven you, so please forgive yourself."

Bo shook her head as tears began to fall down her face. "You don't understand. Everyone keeps saying it wasn't me, but it was, at least, a part of me. The fact that I could hurt you and so many other people means I'm capable of anything. None of you should trust me."

"You know the things I've done; we have spoken about it before. None of us are innocent, but you and I especially are not. The thing is, we can't change the past, but we can make sure we do better in the future."

Bo wiped her tears and squeezed her hand. "Okay."

They sat drinking their beers and talking. It felt good and normal, something Tamsin didn't think they could ever have. She wasn't lying when she said that she had already forgiven Bo. They had been through the worst life could throw at them and were now on the other side. Their relationship had nowhere to go but up, and she was excited to see what would come next.

Once they finished drinking, Tamsin was going to get them more, but Bo stopped her. "I'm tired, and for the first time in a while, I feel like I can sleep. Can we go home?"

Tamsin didn't have to ask who's home she meant. "Yeah, babe, let's go home."
