Chapter 36

Remleon flew through the air, completely out of control as he simply waited for himself to land. He was lowkey furious that he had been caught off guard, but was determined to get his revenge.

You could only imagine his rage as he was hit up for a second time, getting launched above a large building. Before he could fall back down again, though, he watched as a charcoal man flew up beside him and slapped his hands downwards, smacking him down onto the top of the building.

(A/N: Probably one of the most dramatic fights yet coming up)

Remmy crashed through the roof completely, dropping down a good couple of floors.

He groggily gut up as he found himself in a hotel room bathroom.

"Spirit of war huh? Noted." He said with a huff, slowly getting out of the bathtub.

He heard a loud crash coming from the next room, and was surprised when a black hand shot out from the wall and grabbed him by his leg.

The hand dragged him through the wall and forced him to be face to face with the god Makhai.

Without hesitation, Remleon swung his head forward and bashed his skull against Makhai's but the god didn't react, instead he swung the wolf around in circles before launching him at the wall. The wolf broke through the brick and landed in the hallway of the hotel, scrambling to his feet.

He barely managed to roll away as Makhais feet crushed the area his head had just been.

He quickly got into a fighting stance as he finally faced off with the god, no longer on the defensive.

There was no denying Makhai was a powerhouse, probably the second strongest being Remleon had ever fought, but this would definitely be his hardest battle.

Remleon caught his breath before rushing forward, attacking the god with his paws that held tons of force behind every punch.

Makhai dodged the attacks with minimal struggle before Remleon had forced him into a corner.

The god effortlessly whipped out his blade and knocked the wolf back, sliding him the the other side of the hall.

The god planted a foot and launched forward, almost decapitating Remmy in a single move.

However, the wolf ducked his head and swung his foot, finally making contact with the god.

The impact of the kick launched the god through multiple walls and all the way out of the building.

The god tumbled a few times through the air but eventually recovered, landing on his feet on the floor, 40 stories below.

Remleon jumped down after the god, crashing down onto the stone pavement, and unknown to him at this point, he had just broken both of ankles upon impact.

The two beings locked eyes for a moment as if trying to gauge the other ones power.

Remleon himself was conflicted as his body struggled against itself. He knew he couldn't have a chance of winning if he remained fully "human", but he also didn't like the idea of going comply wild.

But to be honest, he didn't think he had much choice in the matter, and decided it would be best to simply stay focused to avoid losing his life.

The wolf made the first move, taking a step forward and swinging his arm around as if he was preparing a baseball pitch, but he was really just trying to loosen up.

"Three hits." He said as he advanced on the god. "I say you get in three more hits before you die."

Despite the fact that he was a monster standing up to a god, Remleon was dead serious, and those aware of the situation knew that he may have been speaking the truth at this moment.

Any who knew of Remleon at this moment (and Makhai did, of course) would probably start cowering in fear, or at the very least flinch, but the obsidian god simply grunted and literally let off steam.

Without any other words the god propelled himself forward, without a weapon, but still incredibly dangerous.

Remleon took a small breath in as the god flew toward him in slow motion. Like a scene from the matrix, he took a single step to the side and raised his hands just in time to make contact with the gods shoulders.

Remmy leaned forward, and in what seemed like a couple seconds but was really less then one, he spoke.

"You'll have to be faster then that, silly god."

He said as he gripped the gods torso and sling him over his back, sending him straight into the base of the building he was in front of.

Returning back to normal speed, Remleon turned around with his hands on his hip and a slight smile on his face. He watched as the first 2 stories of the structure crashed down onto the being.

The wolf almost felt like laughing as he watched the chaos he had caused by himself.

You see, unlike most monsters, Remleon wasn't particularly obsessed with messing with the mortal world, but he wasn't a complete saint either.

Just the smell in the air reminded him of how good he felt while letting his wolf side take over, wether or not he wanted it to.

The wolf didn't have much time to take in the scene though as the rubble in front of him started to move.

"I told you you only had three hits didn't I? I can't be giving you them out so easily. Or maybe you won't even get that many in." He said before he strutted over to the corner of the street.

The wolf ignored the people running around in terror and the sirens sounding through the city as he made his way over to a street lamp.

The thought that soon mythological beings would probably come to see the scene worried the wolf for a split second, but it quickly disappeared as quickly as it came.

Without any struggle, the wolf grabbed the lamppost and ripped it out of the ground. Remleon brought it down and broke it in two over his knee.

Before he could even get his foot back in the floor, he felt the air shift as the god charged towards him, blind siding him.

Though he couldn't even see Makhai, Remleon simply jumped of a single foot and flipped over the god who couldn't stop himself and crashed into a large shuttle car in front of him.

"Your too slow." Growled Remleon, annoyed the god had tried to jump him by surprise.

Without hesitation he heaved his arm and launched half of the lamp post forward to the god.

Before Makhai could get up, the lamp post hit him square in his chest, but to Remmy's surprise, the metal bar was squashed upon impact with the gods chest.

Remmy let out a low growl. Without hesitating, he ran forward and swung the other half of the post like a baseball bat.

The bar curved around the gods steel-like body, doing no damage but holding the god still for a second.

This was all Remmy needed as he sent a perfect kick to the gods head.

Remmy caught the god and took him with his foot, slamming him into the ground. Remleon stood over the god menacingly, staring him in his eyes.

"Your underperforming, Makhai." He said in a sly voice.

The wolf kicked forward once again, sliding the got across the pavement.

"If you don't start fighting back, we'll be interrupted by some boring people. We really are causing quite a scene." He said.

"And I can't really have that, so if you don't wanna start trying..." the wolf had made his way over to the god once again and bent over. "Imma have to end this quick." He said with yellow pupils that shone like tinted moons in his dark eyes.

The god let out a grumble like sound before his veins erupted into flames, illuminating his body like a living volcano.

"That's it!" Exclaimed the wolf before jumping back, avoiding getting hit.

However, his excitement soon vanished as he realized he may have pushed the god to far. Makhai was pressuring the wolf with his dirty, rusted blade, threatening to chop his head off with each swipe.

Contrary to his minimal/effective style of before, he fought with pure fury, like a ball of burning rage. Just being in close contact with the god made the tips of Remleon fur burn.

And speaking of fur, it was slowly starting to appear more across the boys body, turning him closer and closer into a true monster.

However, he calmed himself down, limiting his body to only having his four paws and his ears (which didn't really help much in this situation).

Remleon was forced to stay on the defensive as he avoid getting hit by each of the gods fiery attacks. He dodged not only because of the 3 hit limit, but because he was, subconsciously, genuinely scared of getting hit.

The wolf was forced back as the god continued to pressure until he was eventually pushed up against a building.

"Huh?" He barely got out as the god swung his sword viciously while the wolf was cornered.

Remleon barely managed to duck the attack, well it seemed like that but the wolf was in complete control.

He swiftly squatted down and shot out his foot, catching the god once again is his chest.

The god flew back, but quickly regained composure.

Remleon shook his head and wiped his shoulders as he was a little confused on how he let himself get cornered. He was usually pretty aware of surroundings in battle, but the gods attack had kept him occupied enough to catch him off guard.

The wolf was preparing to attack once again when he felt something hit the tip of his nose. He looked up just to catch a drop of water directly in his eyes.

Rain, he realized. He mentally chuckled as he found it a perfect fit for the current setting.

Thunder rumbled in the air and the wolf assumed that Zeus wasn't too happy with the current happenings, the destruction of a entire city block in one of the most populated towns in all of America.

He decided to finish this quick before he regretted taking his time (wether or not he was really doing this, or he just wasn't actually strong enough to end this when he wanted to is a mystery, but let's just believe Remleon in this situation).

The wolf ran his hands through his air as he locked eyes with the god. Makhai's flames died down due to the rain, but he quickly flared back to life, evaporating the rain before it made contact with him.

The god seemed to get the message that one of them would be dying very soon, and with that in mind, both beings launched forward

The two met in the middle, claw against blade, as they repelled each other back. Remleon flipped in the air and landed gracefully in a crouched position.

He saw the god unharmed and filled with rage as he tried to think of how in Hades he was going to defeat the being.

He couldn't really think, however, when the god lunged at him with speeds surpassing anything he had exhibited previously.

Remmy was quickly caught off guard and dropped down to avoid losing his head, but this was enough because as soon as the god got behind him, he swung once again, finally landing a hit.

And it wasn't anything light, as not a second after impact, the wolf was sent flying into the side of the building in front of him.

Remleon flew through the wall like it was paper, not slowing down at all. Makhai capitalized of this, and somehow he appeared in front of the wolf inside the building.

Without any resistance, the god swung his blade up and changed the direction of the wolf's path, sending him through the roof of each floor of the building until he eventually burst out of the top, 2 hundred meters in the air.

The wolf struggled to regain control as he finally started to lose velocity.

Before he could start his descent back to the earth however, a being appeared in the air right next to him.

Remleon turned his head to see the blazing eyes of Makhai with his sword raised, ready to swat him down back into the ground like a volleyball.

Before the god could do so though, the air shifted as Remleon entered the state of a true monster. This alone was enough to blow out all the windows in the surrounding area, and most likely the ear drums of everyone around as well.

Yet again, like a scene out of the matrix, he slow reached his hand out and grabbed the god by his neck.

"I take it back.

Two is all you get." He said cooly, referring back to the hit limit he had set.

The wolf turned around mid air and got on top of the god in one movement. In the blink of an eye, he cocked his hand back with god in hand, and threw it down, launching the god like a baseball directly towards the earth.

Like before, at this moment the wolf was unaware he had just broken another bone, this time the ones inside his right shoulder/arm.

Remmy didn't have time to think about this as he dove down in pursuit of the god who was crashing down the building below, causing incredible property damage.

Honestly, the two had caused more damage to the area around them the to each other.

That would soon change as Remleon reached the bottom floor of the building, directly in top of Makhai who was completely flat on his back.

The wolf couldn't help but smirk as he bent down and unleashed countless blows upon the god who was arguably defenseless.

The wolf's eyes were pitch black besides the his yellow pupils with dark spots as he was more Lycanthrope then "human" at this point.

His hands were now larger and more burly as they were equipped with large claws, giving him a more versatile weapon then simply paws that were harder to use.

Each claw cut into the gods thick skin countless times, making gold blood spurt from multiple gashes in his skin.

It didn't matter if you were a god, immortal, or anything in between, Remleon's claws were some of the most dangerous weapons in the Greek world, having the ability to pierce the skin of even the thick hide of other Lycanthropes and any other animal he wished to hunt.

And Makhai's skin was no different as he suffered blow after blow until Remleon sensed that the gods body was reaching its limit.

With a blank expression that was somehow smug, Remleon brought his claws back once more as he prepared to finish off the war spirit.

"I suppose maybe it was worth it." He said to himself, referring to the fact that he had gone wild for a split second. Right now, he had complete control over himself, despite the fact that his eyes had changed.

Part of him regretted that he had given in in order to win, but as he said, it may have been the right choice.

Without another word, the wolf stabbed his hand downwards and pierced the gods neck, cutting through it like butter.

The stoic god didn't speak a word or show emotion even his his dying moments (though not really dead of course), as his body slowly turned into black dust, leaving behind only his rusty steel helmet.

Remleon smirked as he looked down at his chest to see the gods blade stuck in the left side of his torso. Thankfully the wolf's instincts had kicked in and saved him from taking the blade to the chest.

He looked at the wound as the sword was starting to disappear just like the god as he though back to his words.

"I guess he got in his three hits, huh." He said simply before grabbing the helmet and tucking it underneath his shoulder.

He looked around the destroyed first floor of the building he was in, completely cleared out of any mortals that were here.

He looked up the hole in the ceiling to see that the moon was shining directly onto him, making him feel a little better.

Unintentional, he decided, but it still felt good.

With that said though, the boy walked out of the building to join his companions who he assumed were still fighting there respective gods.

~Line Break~

-Meanwhile: (While Remleon and Makhai were busy excavating the land around them)-

Zoe struggled to catch her breath as she was failing to keep up with the god in front of her.

There was no doubt that in 1on1 combat, this was they most grueling fight she had had ever experienced, worse then even her encounters with Agreceon or other monsters.

The fact that his brother, Makhai, and Agreceon (Remleon will be referred to as this at times because we are vaguely following Zoe. If this changes, it's because of the way Zoe is thinking of him at that time :p) were destroying there surroundings during there fight was also pretty distracting, something Zoe didn't need right now.

It was honestly fascinating to see the wolf in battle, but unlike his arguable grace against Neikea, he was currently exhibiting his brute strength against Makhai right now.

Zoe was shook from her thoughts when a massive broadsword came into contact with her relatively small hunter knife, nearly breaking her wrists on impact.

Unlike Makhai, Hysiminai resorted to actual skill with his blade opposed to his brute godly strength. It was lucky that Zoe was fighting him opposed to his brother, or else she may have currently been in pieces at this moment.

But that wasn't to say Hysiminai was any easier to take on.

The god had forced Zoe on the defensive the entire battle, giving her no room for error or else it would have costed her life.

Zoe was annoyed she wasn't able to use her bow, but she knew that that was the gods plan. To stop her from using what she was best with, and hopefully make her uncomfortable.

Though he had succeeded to be honest, Zoe couldn't stand the fact, so she continued to fight with fury, using her two knifed, her own and the one given to her by Artemis.

Zoe noticed that Hysiminai was wary of Artemis's weapon, and tried to avoid it while they fought, and she used to to her advantage.

She lead with the goddesses blade and delivered quick but effect blows.

At first, the hyena god believed this to be a fruitless effort, but he soon found himself moving slower and slower.

Fearing that he may actually get hit, the god delivered three blows in quick succession that launched the hunter back.

With space between them, the two stopped and caught there breath.

"You...you're more skilled then I had expected. I guess it's expected from the lieutenant of the hunt herself." He said, giving props even though he was annoyed.

The god leaned on his sword that he had planted into the ground.

"I suggest you prepare yourself, because in my next attack, I shall end this battle."

Zoe felt shivers roll over her as she believed there was some truth in the gods word, but spirit of battle or not, she could not die here.

With sweat rolling down her face, she raised her knifes. "I can not let you kill me, god." Was all she said.

She reserved her words as she needed all she had if she wanted to keep standing.

The god raised a brow. "I don't think you understand..." he ripped his sword out the ground and shifted his foot.

"there is nothing you can do to stop me."

The god had launched forward faster then before and was currently behind the huntress who hadn't seen it coming.

The god had his blade inches away from the hunter and didn't hesitate.

Thankfully though, Zoe's instincts were supreme as she swiftly ducked her head without even seeing the blade, only trusting her gut.

The blade skimmed by her, clipping off the tips of her hair. She shot out her elbow and caught the god in his stomach, forcing an "Oof!" Out of him.

She whipped her head around and knocked the god onto the ground, placing a knee on his chest.

"What is this?!" He quickly exclaimed, but instead of answering, Zoe simply stabbed her dagger down, burrying it in the gods shoulder.

He yelled out before kicking up, sending Zoe tumbling off him.

She recovered quickly to see the god struggling to his feet, clutching his shoulder.

"I must admit, I let down my guard and didn't expect you to dodge the first attack. I surely did pay for that one, huntress, but my previous statement still stands. My next hit will end this fight."

Zoe scowled. "Then I just don't need to get hit then, do it?" She said before rushing forward.

The god only chuckled before raising his blade shakily, meeting the hunter. Though he was injured, he was still able to keep up with Zoe, though now he was the one on the defensive.

The god remained calm in his movements, deflecting the hunters attacks with his injured arm. It didn't take long for the combat mastermind to find an opening, and with a swift and powerful hit, he knocked the huntress to the floor.

He walked over to her, and with his blade raised, he smiled.

"Did I not tell you? You should know that you had no business starting a fight with me, Huntress." He said before he made a move to slam his sword down.

He was interrupted, however, when there was a shift in the air.

Zoe instinctively raised her hands to her head as it felt like her ear drums had exploded like she was on a plane, but much, much worse.

Hysiminai flinched, but made no move to cover his ears, instead he only looked to the source of the "sonic boom".

Both fighters looked up towards the sky two see two beings high above the air, a couple of streets over.

The beings were Agreceon and Makhai, and the former had just grabbed the gods neck and seemingly threw him down like a lightweight pillow, but Zoe couldn't really see because of the buildings in the way.

But the god was not the same, instead he had a worried look on his face, as he knew what had just happened.

Zoe capitalized on his hesitation, and threw her knife out, hitting the god directly in his ear.

The god stepped back and clutched his head in pain, but instead of responding, he turned around.

"Brother!" He called out, and went into a full blown sprint on all fours in the direction of the loud bang.

Zoe didn't understand, but she didn't waste any time in pulling out her bow and letting her arrows fly. Most hit the being in his armor, but some made it through and pierced his skin, but the god didn't stop.

Soon he disappeared into the alley as he took the quickest route to the street over the buildings.

Zoe followed the gods path and hopped the fence, finding that this street too was also in ruins with one building in particular in extremely bad shape.

Zoe noticed the wolf Remleon had just walked out of said building with something under his arm, and currently Hysiminai was heading dead for him.

Before Zoe could warn him, the hyena tackled the wolf, tumbling a good couple of meters before getting back up, with a helmet in hand, one he had apparently just taken from Remleon.

Remleon quickly got up and looked at the god with angry eyes.

Zoe had just caught up and was currently side by side with the wolf, prepared to fight the god together.

Hysiminai looked between the two and glanced at the helmet in his hand. With a disgusted look, he spat out. "This is not over."

With that, the god turned around and ran away, in the direction away from the city.

Zoe raised her bow and aimed her sights on a direct shot to the gods head, one that she was sure would end him in a single hit.

She knocked an arrow from Artemis and prepared to fire, but was stopped by Remleon placing a hand on her weapon.

"Don't. Trust me, it's best to let them go."

He said, keeping his eyes on the god as he ran.

Zoe let out a small scowl. "I had a shot,...and 'them'?!"

Remmleon nodded. "That helmet, it's whats left of Makhai. I thought I had finished him off, but I guess not." He said.

"And if they're leaving us alone, that's good. Our goal isn't to kill them, it's to help Percy."

Zoe almost took a step back as she completely forgot about why they had come to the city. "Perseus..." she breathed.

Without another word the two turned around and ran full speed towards the Wynn Hotel, hoping to save Percy from the god he was fighting before it was too late.
