Episode 4 Part 8
Just as Lisa had predicted when the three girls walked into the lounge Rafael was on his feet in an instant.
"What is she doing here?!" he yelled
"Calm down, Rafael, "said Lisa, "Believe it or not Selena is on our side now."
"She's a Sundance Roma," snorted Rafael in disbelief.
"Who was just almost killed by her own tribe!" snapped Elle, "And would have been if Lisa and I hadn't shown up."
"You risked your life for her!" said Rafael looking at Lisa in disbelief
"Yes, I did," said Lisa growing impatient with Rafael's stubbornness, "did you not hear what Elle said? Her own people were going to kill her by throwing her into dead man's gorge!"
"So," snorted Rafael folding his arms across his chest, "Her whole clan has been trying to kill us!"
Then Rafael saw Lisa looking at him with mixture shock and hurt.
"I can't believe you Rafael," she snapped, "Not that I suppose it matters to you, but Elle heard Selena say that she hates what the Clan makes her do. And if you really think the way that you are acting, then you're no better than they are."
Lisa turned to Selena,
"Come on," she said, "You can stay at my place until you figure out what you want to do."
"Oh no," she said, "Thank you, Lisa but I couldn't risk it. My clan is going to keep coming after me."
"Maybe Lise and I can do something about that." Said Elle, "In the meantime let's get you settled at Lisa's place.
Elle, and Selena started toward the door, Lisa joined them and didn't even look back at Rafael much less hug or kiss him goodbye.
Lucien was sitting in his trailer fuming. Night had fallen and there was still no sign of the renegade Selena. He didn't like loose ends. In frustration he threw his ledger book across the room. It bounced off the opposite wall and hit the floor. The sound of it hitting the floor had barely faded when suddenly the lights in Lucien's trailer went out. before Lucien could even stand up, he found two swords crisscrossed at his throat like a pair or razor-sharp pruning shears!
He looked up and found that behind the swords were two figures dressed in black from head to toe with masked faces.
"Lucien," said Lisa in a low threatening voice, "There are two things that you have to do if you want to save your own neck."
"W-What?" stammered Lucien
First, call off your foot soldiers and tell them that Selena is off limits from now on. She never sees or hears from any of you again."
"Second, you've got to tell us who hired you to come after the kids at Pine Hollow."
"Why, should I grant you these things?" said Lucien trying to put on a brave front and save face.
"Because if you don't, we're going to give you a haircut down to your Adam's apple!" growled Elle, "Get it?"
She pressed her blade harder against his throat to emphasize her point.
Lucien nodded
"O-Okay," he stammered his bravado going down the tube again, "Y-You've T-Talk me into it!"
"We were hired by some snooty guy with short curly blonde hair!" said Lucien
"Reggie!" growled Lisa. Then as quick as they appeared, Lisa and Elle were gone back into the shadows.
Lucien jumped to his feet and ran to the door of his trailer.
"THERE ARE INTRUDERS IN THE CAMP! FIND THEM!" he roared. The Sundance enforcers began looking around; running this way and that way. Everyone ignored two veiled and cloaked dancers that walked calmly through the camp and then slipped into the tree-line. as soon as they reached their horses, they mounted up and rode off into the night. Once they were safely away from the camp. They took off their veils revealing themselves to be Lisa and Elle who had pulled a quick change into the dancer costumes under their black clothes. The black clothes fit together to make the cloaks they wore.
"I can't believe that worked!" said Lisa, "They never even noticed us!"
"Sometimes the best place to hide is in plain sight!" said Elle
"Come on let's get back to our secret lounge and get out of these outfits." Said Lisa.
Elle nodded. They returned to the secret lounge and changed into their regular clothes. just as they came out of the secret passage way into Lisa's bedroom, her phone rang.
Lisa checked the screen and saw that it was Rafael.
Elle recognize Rafael's ringtone and was surprised when she heard the distinct sound of Lisa pressing the decline button.
"Lisa?" said Elle questioningly
I'm not speaking to Rafael until he comes to his senses about Selena!" said Lisa firmly
