Chapter 36….
Down at metro Dusty was working when Janet stormed in. She seemed really upset as she looked around in search for her sister;" Isn't Terri here?"
"No, she just left to pick up some things that she needed for the menu and won't be back for another hour." said her friend;" Are you okay?"
"Do I look okay?" asked Janet nearly in tears as she wanted to turn around and walk away again when dusty stopped her by grabbing her wrist. As he did that she quickly pulled away;" Please don't, Dusty!"
"I can't let you get back into your car when you're upset like this!" replied he worried;" What happened?"
"Jack had Tom bring over the divorce-papers this morning. He only told me two days ago and is already trying to get me to sign those damn papers so that he can go back to that damn lush!" answered his friend angry;" And when I went to return them to Carly, where I knew jack would probably be, she nearly attacked me and her sister had the nerve to threaten me."
"It's going to be okay again, Janet. You're better off without him." said Dusty as he pulled Janet into his arms to comfort her;" He doesn't deserve you."
"Why are they all making me out to be the bad one here?" asked she softly;" I didn't do anything wrong! He did! He said I do will he knew damn well that he was still in love with her! He made me promises that he never meant to keep. And that lush refused to let him go and be happy with me."
"Hey, I'm here for you!" promised her friend while he made Janet look up at him;" You don't have to go through this alone."
"I was so mean to you yesterday." sighed Janet;" I'm sorry, Dusty. I shouldn't have been so mean to you."
"It's okay. I know that you were just lashing out because you were upset." replied he, leaning in slowly as she did the same and their lips nearly touched;" I'd do anything for you."
"I know." smiled his friend and put her arms around his neck as they kissed;" I know, Dusty."
Happy that Janet wasn't pushing him away Dusty pulled her with him towards his office, where he gently pushed her down on the couch after closing the door and locking it after them as their kisses became more intense.
Slowly clothes began to drop on the floor as things began to heat up between them.
Back in Milltown Carly was making coffee in the kitchen when Jack walked in and put his arms around her;" Hey, are you okay?"
"I'm okay." said his ex with a faint smile as she gently pushed him away;" J.J. is in the living room with Rosanna and Molly!"
"So?" whispered Jack into her ear while he kissed her neck;" We still need to finish up what we started, lady. Remember?"
"You have a one-tracked mind, Jack Snyder!" laughed she and tried to focus on what she was doing instead of on how close jack was standing next to her as he was staring at her with that hungry look in his eyes, like he wanted to take her there and then;" Maybe you should take a cold shower."
"Like you don't want me as much as I want you right now, lady." replied her ex-husband with a mischievous smile. He nearly pinned Carly up against the cupboard with his body as his hands were on her hips, giving her shivers down her spine;" Look me in the eye and tell me to go."
"You're not playing fair, G-man." sighed Carly, wishing that they were alone, while she turned around towards him;" We can't do this right now, Jack!"
"I know." answered he with a faint smile, gave Carly a long and passionate kiss, and walked away;" We will finish later, Lady. I promise!"
All red and flushed Carly stood there with a smile on her face, trying to catch her breath, knowing full well that Jack was going to keep his promise. Just the thought of what was yet to come took her breath away again. No matter what was going on in their lives and even if they were not on speaking terms just a glance from him or his husky voice were enough to make Carly tremble all over. Her body would instantly react to him no matter where they were. A power that Jack had used many times with that smug smile on his face even if she had been reluctant to let him come that close. She ofcourse knew that she had that same power over him and to be honest she had used it on him as well at times that he had tried his best to stay clear of her.
Shaking her head and trying to calm her body and mind down Carly took a few deep breaths before walking back into the living room, where she saw Jack's smug smile as he stared at her as she came in as if he knew exactly what was on her mind. She made a mental note to get back at him for that as she gave him a smile back.
