Thank you all again I appreciate everyone one that reads, reviews, favorites all of it! Now on to the finale!

Sasuke drove Itachi's car straight to Hinata's house figuring he'd get there at the same time or a bit after she arrived. He realized how excited he was to see her when he nearly raced out of the car to the front door. He hesitated before ringing the doorbell so he could compose himself. He heard footsteps coming towards the door only increasing his excitement with each step but when it opened it was the Hyuga patriarch standing on the other side looking just as surprised to see Sasuke. "Sasuke it's been a bit since I've seen you."

Although Hinata told Sasuke her father agreed to let the two of them continue to date Sasuke still felt awkward seeing him, "Hi…...I came to see Hinata…. if that's ok?"

"Of course, it's ok but she's not here yet. Hanabi and that friend of hers took Hinata to get some ice cream after school. They should be back here soon, come in." Hiashi stepped back holding the door open more for Sasuke who nervously walked in. "I'm glad you are here though; I want to talk with you. Would you mind coming with me to my office so we can talk privately?" His tone sounded calm but there was a slight edge there that worried Sasuke, he nodded his head slowly and he followed Hiashi into his office.

Sasuke had never been inside Hiashi's home office and had assume it would mirror his Dad's office with wall to ceiling bookshelves lined with books about the law and awards, the diplomas and other accolades framed on the wall along with photos of them with high-ranking members of society. However, upon closer inspection the photos were actually of Hiashi and his family and the awards and accolades were not Hiashi's but that of Neji, Hinata and Hanabi. Sasuke couldn't help but notice a photo from their vacation that had him in it also on the wall.

Hiashi took a seat in his chair behind his desk and caught Sasuke inspecting the photos on the wall, "Is something wrong?"

"No, I just expected your home office to be more…..." He trailed off trying to find the right word that didn't sound insulting.

"Self-centric? I leave all the braggy stuff about me in my work office. When I work from home, I'd like to be surrounded by things that remind me not to spend all my time in here and get out and spend time with the people in those photos. Plus, I am prouder of my children's accomplishments then my own." Hiashi leaned back slightly in his chair, "I didn't ask you here to talk about my decorating though. I wanted to talk to you about what happened last week."

Sasuke wasn't surprised about the topic of conversation however it didn't make him feel any less uneasy about it being brought up, "We don't have to, I understand why you did what you did. If I was in your shoes, I probably would have done the same. "

"You are letting me off way to easy, I owe you an apology for my actions. They were out of line and unnecessary. My father always said a man's true test of strength is knowing when to admit he was wrong. And I was wrong that day and I spoke without thinking. Seeing Hinata hurt and finding out about all those horrible things happening made me act out because I care for her. I'm sure you can understand that as being the person outside of her family that cares for her the most. However, that doesn't excuse my behavior and I am deeply sorry for that."

"It's fine don't worry about it." He didn't know what else to say it felt weird to have Hiashi apologize to him, "I should have protected her better, believe me I will not make that same mistake again."

Hiashi nodded his head slowly, "I am sure you won't. There is another thing I'd like to talk to you about and if you feel uncomfortable or if I'm stepping over a line let me know but Hinata let it slip of your tentative plans to attend Kirigakure University." Hinata had not told Sasuke of this slip of the tongue and he knew why she hadn't. If Hiashi knew there was a big possibility he told Fugaku who was the last person Sasuke wanted to know. He hoped to be out of the house before he found out to avoid any more arguments. Hiashi could see the look of slight distress on Sasuke's face, "I didn't tell Fugaku we haven't talked much outside of work since…well that is not of importance right now."

He could sense there was something there but didn't want to get into it as it was yet another relationship burdened by his and Hinata's. "Thank you, I just told my Mom today but I plan on attending Kirigakure University instead of Tobirama University."

"I am sure she was just as surprised as I was considering that it was said you were going to Tobirama since the day you were born."

"Not by me though."

"Of course, not by you. You know as a father we always want what's best for our children." It was starting to look as if Hiashi was going to defend his friend and colleague which made Sasuke want to get up and walk out. However, he didn't want to disrespect Hiashi so he forced himself to stay put. "Sometimes though we are so blinded by what we want we don't see what our children want. I bring this up because I know your father will not be pleased when he finds out of your plans even though you have chosen to go to a good university. And he will refuse to pay for your education as a way to make you give up your plan for his." It seemed Hiashi knew more about his partner than he let on. "That is why I'd like to offer to pay your tuition. It is the least I can do to make amends for how foolish I was."

Sasuke was blown away by the generous offer, the university was expensive and Hiashi was already paying for one college tuition and another starting soon and here he was offering to add another to his plate. However, it just didn't sit right with Sasuke he knew sooner or later his father would find out that Hiashi was paying and that would cause more strain on their relationship and partnership. Sasuke didn't want the guilt that came with the possibility of that happening. "Hiashi thank you that is kind but I can't accept that. My brother is helping me get a loan and I will get a job and save as much as I can. I also will keep my grades up to get a scholarship hopefully in the future. I know it will be hard but I know I will appreciate it more if I work for it. Everything in my life has pretty much been handed to me and I just feel like this is something I need to work for."

Hiashi smirked upon hearing Sasuke's words, "I couldn't agree more nothing worth having comes easy Sasuke. However, no one gets through life without help. That is something I wish I knew when I was your age. I refused to accept help and tried to do everything by myself and all I did was stress myself out and kept me from achieving my goals sooner. That is why I refuse to sit on the side lines and not help you out. How about I help you and your brother get a low interest loan and if you are interested, I have a few associates that could use some part time help in their offices I could set up some interviews and leave the rest to you."

Sasuke had to assume this was what fathers were supposed to do let their children choose their own path and help them along that. It felt so foreign to him that at first, he wanted to reject it thinking there was some sort of ulterior motive here but Hiashi looked and sounded anything but sincere. He knew it was going to be hard to get a decent loan when neither him or his brother had any assets but with Hiashi's help he figured the banks would be begging to give them money. And whoever Hiashi's associates were they were most likely the type of people to pay the employees well even their part timers. "Thank you Hiashi."

Hiashi seeing that Sasuke was accepting his help grinned and stood up from his chair so he could reach his hand across the desk to shake Sasuke's hand. "No need to thank me, it is my pleasure to help. And whatever you need Sasuke now or in the future you can always come to me."

Sasuke felt a little choked up by Hiashi's words and just nodded his head as he shook the man's hand. In one conversation Hiashi acted more like a father to him then his father had in years it made Sasuke wonder how things would have turned out if Fugaku was a little more like Hiashi.

Hiashi's phone started to ring and he let go of Sasuke's hand to take it, "Hello...What the jury came back already? Guilty? No, we have to appeal this right away...…. I'll be right there." He started grabbing files off his desk and shoving them into his briefcase. "Sorry to cut our time short Sasuke but now that your back I'm sure I'll be seeing you around the house again."

"I am sure you will."

"Good." Hiashi gave Sasuke a pat on the shoulder as he walked past him and walked out his office door nearly colliding with Neji who was making his way down the hall with a gigantic bag over his shoulder. "You've only been home for a week how do you have so much stuff?"

Neji pulled the heavy bag up as it was starting to slide, "This is just leftovers Mom left for me to take. It's your fault there are so many you made Hinata and Hanabi stay home from school so the two of them and Mom did nothing but bake and cook all week. I have enough stuff in here to feed my entire dorm."

"Yeah, yeah I'm sure you and your roommate will finish it all by the end of the week." Hiashi grabbed his jacket off the hook and turned to his son, "I know you are about to leave but I have to head into the office so I will say my good byes now. I want you to drive safe and no speeding Neji."

"That was one ticket!" Neji got a stern look from his father that made him change his tune, "I mean I will drive safe and the speed limit. I am just waiting for Hinata and Hanabi to get home and then I'll be heading out."

"Good so you can keep Sasuke company until they do."

Neji spun around to see Sasuke exiting Hiashi's office just as Hiashi was yelling goodbyes as he made his way out of the door leaving the two of them alone in the hallway. Neji looked surprised to see him, "Hinata didn't mention you were coming back."

"I didn't tell her I just got back a couple of hours ago I thought I'd surprise her."

Neji nodded his head slowly this was only the second time the two had been left alone with each other and neither one was used to it yet. Usually, it would escalate to name calling and fist fights but they both were trying for the sake of Hinata. "Well…it's good you are back."

That was the last thing he had expected Neji to say, "Is that so?"

"Since I have to go back to college, I'm glad you are going to be around again…. for both of my sisters. Even though I know both of them are capable of taking care of themselves it gives me peace of mind knowing that…...there is someone around who cares for them almost as much as I do."

Although the words he was saying sounded genuine in put Sasuke a bit on edge to hear Neji who once wouldn't say a nice thing about Sasuke even if you paid him was being very nice to him. "Hinata is going to be mad at me for asking but why are you being so nice to me?"

Neji chuckled to himself, "I guess I was laying it on a little thick there huh? I spoke with Itachi when you were away, I know he was holding a lot back but from what little I heard I figured it wouldn't kill me to be a little nicer to you. Especially since it seems like you will be around for a while."

"Does this mean you like me now?" Sasuke asked sarcastically.

"Don't push it." Neji replied with a smirk on his face.

"But you like me more than Konohamaru right you can at least give me that."

"No comment." Neji said with an annoyed but still amused look on his face, he picked up the bag he had on the floor and left to go put it in his car. Now alone Sasuke decided to go wait for Hinata in her room figuring she'd go straight there when she got home so he'd surprise her there.

As he walked in, he remembered how blinded by all her white furniture he was the first time he came into this room. How he just wanted to drop off her homework and get out of there as fast as possible. He should have known then that he had started to like Hinata when instead of leaving he stood to make her feel better and ended up making out with her. He could still picture her in her oversized hoodie wiping away tears she tried to hold back. The girl he knew now and the girl back then seemed like total opposites the more he thought about it.

He walked across the room so that he could watch from the window and see when Hinata got home, on the way something caught his attention. He stopped in front of Hinata's desk which was uncharacteristically a mess with a few papers strewn about some old homework assignments and a bunch of sticky notes with reminders for Hinata. He spotted one that had his name scribbled on it accompanied with some tiny hearts. He rolled his eyes at how cheesy his girlfriend was and he hated how much he liked it. However, that was not what caught his eye. Nor was it the framed photo given to Hinata by his Mother that sat on her desk next to the snow globe he had given her. True to her word that snow globe was placed on her desk the moment she got home from their trip and stood there to this day. No, what had caught his attention was a black hoodie that was hung on the back of her desk chair. One that he had not seen in months and had all but forgotten he had given to her the night he drove her home. She had not only kept it all this time by the looks of it she had been wearing it as well.

Sasuke couldn't help but smirk as he ran his hand over the back of the chair, he had heard that girlfriends often took their boyfriends clothes to wear so it shouldn't have surprised him that this was here. Even though Hinata had inadvertently taken it way before the two started officially dating he liked the idea of her having it.

While Sasuke was busying himself looking at the mementos of him on Hinata's desk outside Konohamaru was parking his car. Hinata was grateful Konohamaru insisted on treating the two girls to some ice cream after their return to school. She sat in the back and watched the two sneak glances at each other which Hinata thought was so cute they hadn't said they were dating yet but Hinata could tell they were. She felt happy for her sister and yet still felt a little bit of jealousy since she hadn't seen Sasuke in a week and had no idea when he was coming back. When she got out of the car, she spotted her brother in the driveway once again packing his car, "You're leaving already?"

Neji closed the trunk of his car and turned around as his sisters were walking towards him with Konohamaru following close behind, "Yeah I have an exam in the morning I was just waiting to say goodbye to the two of you before I left."

Hinata engulfed her brother in a big hug she had really enjoyed having him home again even for this short period of time. "I never got to thank you for all your help this week especially with Dad."

"Don't worry about it, it's my job as your big brother to help you out no matter what. Just promise me you will be safe."

"I will, I promise."

Neji turned to his younger sister, "That goes for you too."

Hanabi rolled her eyes before giving her brother a hug goodbye, "I will stop worrying about us we are going to be fine."

"I'm keeping an eye out for both of them at school so no need to worry Neji." Konohamaru said hoping to gain some points with Neji but was just met with an annoyed stare that made him regret opening his mouth in the first place.

Hanabi saw the look and gave her brother a slight elbow to his ribs along with a stern look. Neji heavily sighed, "Uh thanks Konohamaru." Neji started heading for his driver side door but remembered who was in the house, "Oh Hinata something arrived for you while you were out."

"What could it be I don't remember ordering anything." Hinata started walking towards the house wondering what it could be.

Hanabi was about to follow her inside when out of the corner of her eye she spotted a familiar car parked across the street, "Wait isn't that Itachi's car?"

Neji brought his finger up to his lips to silence his sister thankful Hinata was now entering the house and hadn't heard her. Hinata looked around the foyer but didn't see anything that could be for her. "Maybe he put it in my room."

Hinata went upstairs and noticed the light on underneath her door she thought it was odd but didn't give it a second thought as she walked through her door. She took two steps in before freezing in place when she spotted Sasuke waiting for her. She looked more shocked than happy to see him which concerned Sasuke a little, "Hey…"

Hearing his voice broke her from her frozen state and she dropped her bag to the floor and started to run towards him as fast as her legs could. She nearly knocked him over as she ran into him wrapping her arms around his torso. "You're back!"

Sasuke looked down at Hinata who had buried her face in his chest taking her all in. It felt right to be with her again especially when he wrapped his arms around pulling her closer to him. The feeling of her in his arms again, her lavender scent filling his nostrils making him feel more relaxed made him truly feel like he was back. Hinata looked up her bright eyes happily taking him all in and he took the opportunity to claim her soft pink lips with his.

Hinata never wanted to go this long without the feeling of his lips on hers, she missed it so much and felt whole again to have him back. She forced herself after a while to pull away but still kept her arms around him to ask, "Why didn't you tell me you were coming back?"

Sasuke gently ran his fingers through her hair enjoying the feeling of her long strands effortlessly slipping through his fingers, "I wanted to surprise you plus there was some things I had to handle before I saw you."

"Like what?" Hinata felt nervous even though she had spoken to Sasuke every day since he left, he hadn't told her any decision he had made just that when he returned, he would tell her everything in person.

"I want to show you something, I will explain everything once we get there."

"Ok, let me change out of this uniform and we can go." As Hinata grabbed some clothes to change into her mind was racing Sasuke was back and he seemed different than he was before he left. On one hand he was more relaxed but on the other Hinata could sense some nervousness when he spoke. It was understandable considering everything that had happened recently she just hoped whatever he was going to tell her was going to be good news. When she exited her bathroom, she grabbed her bag which was still on the floor and motioned to Sasuke she was ready to go.

"Are you sure?" He asked a smirk appearing on his face, "It's chilly outside you may want to bring your hoodie." He said with a wink gesturing to the chair as he made his way out of the room.

Hinata looked over at the chair feeling her cheeks blush as she spotted Sasuke's hoodie hanging on the chair. She had taken to wearing it recently after finding it still hanging in her closet. By his reaction he seemed more amused by it than angry which was good because Hinata had no intentions on returning it.

When Hinata got into Itachi's car with Sasuke it reminded her that even though he was back things had changed. One big change was that Sasuke had his car taken from him, she felt so guilty because she felt responsible for it happening. She knew it was Fugaku who had taken it but it was a terrible out come from his relationship with her. She didn't know how or when but she was determined to get him his car back one day because she knew how much it meant to him. The drive wasn't too long and soon Sasuke was pulling into a parking spot outside a large apartment building. She waited for him to explain where they were but he just grabbed her by the hand and led her through the lobby doors and into the awaiting elevator. When the doors opened on the fourth floor Sasuke led her down the row of identical apartment door until they arrived at the one that had 4B on the front. Using his newly acquired keys he opened the door letting them in to the vacant apartment. Hinata looked around the bare apartment as they stood in what she assumed was to be a living room, "Where are we?"

"This is Itachi's new apartment, he's moving out and he asked me to go with him."

This was the first she heard about either of them moving out together she knew Sasuke could no longer say at home and the thought of Sasuke living alone somewhere else worried her. It brought her a feeling of relief to find out he would not be alone. She started to look at the apartment through new hopeful eyes, "Really that's a great idea, when did you figure this all out?"

"He asked me a few days into the trip but I thought about it for awhile even though it was my best and really only option I wasn't sure about it." He started walking towards what he had picked earlier to be his room it was less than half the size of his previous one with Hinata following right behind him.

The two sat in the middle of the room facing each other, Hinata was seated crossed legged and reached over to take Sasuke's hand in hers again, "Were you unsure because of your Mom?"

Sasuke nodded slowly, "I knew she'd be upset with both of us leaving at the same time but I was also unsure because of what this will cause for Itachi. He is putting his future and his relationship with Dad in jeopardy because of me. Not to mention I'm sure Itachi was looking forward to heading out to be on his own and not having to take care of his little brother."

"I am a hundred percent sure Itachi thought this all out before asking and this is what he wants to do. He cares about you and he'd rather help you out then anything else. And I'm sure your Mom will be upset but if she sent you and Itachi away I know she can handle you two living outside the house."

"I told her before I came to see you, she was supportive but I could tell she was upset. I also told her of my plans for college and turns out she wanted this to happen." Sasuke went on to tell Hinata everything how he and Itachi planned to pay for the University, how his Mom took the news, even how Hiashi offered to help out as well. Hinata was blown away by the amount of information that was being given to her it seemed that Sasuke had finally been able to figure out what he was going to do. "Wow that's a lot of change all at once…. how are you feeling about all of it?" Sasuke shrugged as was his default response whenever someone would ask him about his feelings. "I know you won't admit it but you are probably a little scared and even maybe a bit nervous."

He did feel both of those emotions but he didn't want to admit it out loud even to Hinata. He always wanted to remain the strong boyfriend and he thought admitting that would somehow tarnish that image. Hinata could see the conflict in Sasuke's eyes when he told her of his plan. There was excitement in his eyes but there was also worry and doubt. She pulled herself closer to him so that she was sitting between his legs with her legs over them wanting to be closer to him. "I also know there is a big part of you that is worried about your Mom. If she is really ok with you leaving and what is going to happen with her and your Dad." Once again Hinata hit the nail on the head she knew him so well he didn't have to speak and she got it. Her hands that were resting on his arms slid up slowly to rest gently on the sides of his face making sure he was looking into her big expressive pale colored eyes "But I want you to know that you are doing the right thing here. And I know this wasn't an easy decision for you but I am so proud of you for making it Sasuke and for committing to do all of it so you can have the future you want." Hinata pulled Sasuke closer so she could give him a gentle slow kiss on the lips, hoping her words and this bit of affection would help sooth some of Sasuke's worries.

She felt it was working when she felt his arm which were lazily hanging to his sides wrapped tightly around her waist and pulled her close so she was pressed up against him. She knew the next few months would have a few bumps in the road but she was prepared to stand by his side through it all just has she had done since they started hanging out. "I'm really glad you are back Sasuke, I missed you."

Her words trailed off at the end slightly embarrassed to say the words out loud even though she had said she loved him just a week ago it was still all new to her. Sasuke claimed her lips with his again showing her that he felt the same. She knew it be a while before Sasuke uttered the words he accidentally let slip before but she didn't need him to constantly say it because it was moments like this when he showed it from the way he kissed her, to the way he held her in his arms, to the way he looked at her it was all so clear to her now how he felt. Hinata lost track of time as she was kissing Sasuke because in those moments nothing else in the world mattered to her and she allowed herself to enjoy his return.

It was dark by the time the two left the apartment after enjoying the first bit of alone time they had in a while. As they drove to the Uchiha's home for dinner Hinata's cheeks burned as she thought back to how the two had broken in the new apartment right on Sasuke's future bedroom floor. Sasuke looked over to see the familiar red blush he had grown to enjoy on his girlfriend's face, his hand was resting on her knee as he drove and he gave it a little squeeze to gain her attention. "What's on your mind?"

Hinata shook her head and tried to rub away the blush with her hand with only made it grow, "N-Nothing."

"Liar." He said with a flirtatious smirk as he pulled Itachi's car into the drive way. He got out and made his way around the car just as Hinata was getting out of the passengers and the two started walking hand in hand towards the house when Sasuke saw something that caught his attention. He turned his head to get a better look at what he saw and immediately stopped walking.

Hinata confused on why they suddenly stopped and when she turned to look at him, she saw the relaxed Sasuke was gone in an instant he had become tense and was staring at something, "What's wrong?"

He didn't even turn to look at her as he said with no emotion in his voice at all, "That's my Dad's car."

"F-Fugaku? He's here? Why you said your Mom hasn't spoken to him since he left."

This made no sense his Mom wouldn't blind side him like this, this was classic Fugaku showing up when he wanted to. He must have found out he and Itachi were back why else would he be here. He wondered if Itachi knew or if he was back yet. Sasuke turned his head to look at the house the lights were on and he could see the shadows of what he assumed were his parents on the closed living room curtains. "He's in there."

Hinata knew they would have to face Fugaku eventually but she was hoping some time would pass and everything would be settled before they did. "Maybe we should have dinner at my house instead."

Sasuke's eye brows were furrowed and his eyes were narrowed as he stared at the house, "Wait in the car I'll be right back."

He tried to let go of her hand but she tightened her grip, she was determined not to leave his side. "If you are going in, so am I."

He wanted to argue with her but he wanted to get inside more so he charged towards the front door with Hinata right next to him. As he reached the door, he could hear his parents arguing inside which only made him barrel through the door practically dragging Hinata in behind him who was trying to keep up. He went straight to the living room entrance where Mikoto and Fugaku stood in the middle both of them turning to look at their son coming in. Mikoto seeing her son quickly tried to put on a more relaxed and happy face it was clear though from the tension in the air the two were just arguing. "Oh Sasuke you are back and you brought Hinata always a pleasure to see you darling."

Hinata gave a tiny wave as she was standing half hidden behind Sasuke who was glaring at his father who was glaring right back. "Sasuke take Hinata home and come right back we need to have a family discussion."

Sasuke's hold on her hand tightened and he pulled her closer to him, "She unlike you is wanted here so she is not going anywhere."

Fugaku let out an exasperated sigh, "Sasuke I am not going to argue with you, so just do what I say I'm sure you won't want her around for this."

Mikoto put her hands out as if to keep the two from moving towards each other, "No one is leaving Fugaku I agreed that you could stay for dinner as long as you behaved. We do have things to discuss and we will do that over dinner and then you will leave." There was a ding from the kitchen. "I will get that, Hinata, Sasuke please help me set the table."

Mikoto walked out towards the kitchen but Sasuke did not move. Itachi's voice could be heard through the open front door, "Why is the door open?" He walked in stopping when he spotted Fugaku, "Dad what are you doing here?"

"It's my house I can be here if I want to be."

"It's only half your house." Sasuke snapped back, "Without grandpa's money you would have never been able to get it." Hinata could tell by Fugaku's face he didn't like to be reminded of the help he received from his deceased father-in-law. Sasuke didn't wait for a response and pulled Hinata out of there and towards the kitchen as Itachi and Fugaku started to talk. Mikoto was frantically moving about the kitchen but stopped for a moment when the two walked in, "Oh good the stuffs on the table set it out for me please."

Hinata moved towards the stack of plates but Sasuke didn't move, "Why is he here?"

"I didn't invite him he just showed up. He heard Itachi was back at the office and came over."

"Tell him to leave now why do we have to have dinner with him."

Mikoto clasped her heads together as she tried to please with her son, "Sasuke please I tried but he wouldn't agree to leave until I did. I think it be good if he was here so you can tell him about your plans."

"He is just going to get mad and yell and tell me that I'm wrong and that his way is best."

"You will have me, your brother and most importantly Hinata by and on your side. He is going to find out eventually so we should just rip the band aid off tonight."

He knew she was right Fugaku was going to find out sooner or later and Sasuke wanted to be the one to tell him than to have him find out through someone else but he also knew this night was not going to end well.

Hinata sat there feeling the most uncomfortable she had ever felt she was sat at the dining room table next to Sasuke and across from Itachi. Mikoto and Fugaku sat at the opposite ends of the table with Fugaku sitting next to Sasuke which made Hinata worry but Sasuke wouldn't let his father sit anywhere near Hinata. And to make matters worse no one had said a word to each other since they sat down. They all just silently ate dinner avoiding eye contact with one another, dinners at the Uchiha home were never full of tons of conversation it was usually just Mikoto filling in the space with her wit and charm but tonight she wasn't her usual self and sat looking nervous in her chair. Sasuke kept checking his watch every few minutes grumbling to himself when he saw time was moving so slow.

It was Fugaku who finally broke the silence, "Your Mother has told me you boys have news to share with me. What is it?"

Sasuke and Itachi both shared a look across the table waiting to see who would speak first but Itachi decided to take the lead, "I will go first. I have been thinking for a while and I think it's time for me to move out."

Fugaku looked pleasantly surprised by this announcement, "That is a surprise you weren't scheduled to do that for another year but as always you are excelling at a faster pace. I will call my realtor tomorrow sow we can find you a place."

"I already found a place, it's a nice apartment a few blocks from the new community center Mom helped raise funds for."

Fugaku's lips curled as if that thought of where Itachi described disgusted him, "That area is up a coming but it will be years until it is up to par for a man of your stature if that. No, I will find you a better apartment in a better neighborhood."

"I already signed the lease earlier today, I like it. It may not have fancy coffee shops or pretentious book stores but it's a good neighborhood and it's close to Sasuke's school."

Their father looked over at Sasuke suspiciously, "Why would that matter?"

Itachi was about to speak but Sasuke spoke first, "I'm moving in with him."

Fugaku shook his head immediately, "No you are still in high school there is no way I'm allowing you to go off and live with your brother. You will just slack off again and I will not have you embarrassing me when you go off to T.U."

"Well good thing I'm not going." The words Sasuke had longed to say were finally out and by the look on his father's face he was receiving them just as well as he thought he would.

"Excuse me."

"I'm not going to T.U."

"Oh, so what you are going to do? Just throw your future away?! You will not get far in this life without an education Sasuke!"

Sasuke felt Hinata's hand search for his under the table a reminder to try and stay calm and not lose his temper, "I'm getting an education just not at T.U. I got in and I'm attending Kirigakure University."

Fugaku rolled his eyes and took a large sip of his drink, "Save your lies Sasuke."

Mikoto came to her son's defense, "It's true he did. The letter is on the fridge if you don't believe."

Itachi spoke next, "I took Sasuke to the University last week, we took a tour and I know Sasuke will excel there."

Fugaku looked a bit in disbelief as he looked around the table at his family, "So you all knew of his disobedience and encouraged it."

Mikoto nodded aggressively, "I don't see it as disobedience I see it as Sasuke creating his own path and yes I encourage it. And so, should you."

Fugaku was silent for a moment and it looked like he was thinking over what Mikoto had said but he started shaking his head, "No, you knew the plan Sasuke all you had to do was follow it and have a successful life but you want to go behind my back and risk everything I worked hard for. You've made some terrible decisions in your life but this one is the second most ridiculous one you've ever made." Fugaku's cold dark eyes flickered over to Hinata for a moment suggesting she was the first.

Sasuke caught the look and he had tried to say calm when Fugaku was talking negatively about him but hearing him make a comment referring to Hinata almost made him lose the little hold he had on his anger and he slammed his hand on the table between him and his father, "You are never going to think any decision that wasn't made by you is good. And if you think me diverting from your plan is just like my decision to be with Hinata than that just confirms that it is a good decision. And now that I'm moving out, you can stop pretending like you give a damn about me because I'm done pretending that I have a Dad." Sasuke pushed the chair back from the table loudly and turned to Hinata, "We are leaving." He knew if he didn't get out now things would escalate as they did before. He had told his father his intentions and that was the end of it and now he wanted to get as far away from him as he could.

Sasuke headed straight out of the room in a huff but Hinata took her time and stood up slowly this was possibly the last time she was going to see Fugaku and she had something to say. "Fugaku, I never nor will I probably understand your dislike of me being with Sasuke and at this point I do not care. I put up with your mean glances and sideways remarks even keeping them from my father as to not tarnish your partnership. However, seeing as this could be the last time, we are face to face I have to say how wrong I think you are. Your constant criticism of Sasuke makes it clear that you do not know him at all and if you truly did you would be thankful to have not one but two great sons. You think Sasuke is going to crash and burn but I know you are wrong; I've seen him grow and change into the person he is now and everyday he just gets better and one day you are going to see that Sasuke has grown into this amazing person and know that you had nothing to do with it. And for that and so much more I pity you."

Fugaku scoffed as if this was the wildest thing he had ever heard, "You pity me? That is preposterous."

"I'm sure you think that because on the surface you have everything, but when you dive below it you see a man who is so focused on making sure it looks like he has everything because deep down he knows he has nothing that truly matters. Your conceitedness has made you blind to what really matters and has made you act out in destructive and hurtful ways. And you can list all the things you've gained from it but at the end of the day it cost you something more important than all of it combined your son. And if you don't change your ways, I'm sure it won't be the last thing it cost you." Hinata took a deep breath in she had rushed through that speech afraid at any moment Fugaku would interrupt her by starting to yell. She felt like a weight was lifted off of her after saying all of that. She turned to Mikoto and Itachi who was sitting there with a shocked expression on his face, "Thank you for dinner Mikoto, I'm sorry we are leaving early. Good night Itachi I will see you both soon."

She smiled sincerely at the two of them and walked out of the room to find Sasuke standing there waiting for her, "Did you hear all of that?"

Sasuke nodded his head not knowing what to say he had turned around when he realized Hinata was not following him but stopped walking when he heard her talking to Fugaku. "You didn't have to do that." Sasuke thought it odd that Hinata had to be almost forced to defend herself in the past but for him she did it with out batting an eye. He was sure his father was fuming in the other room at Hinata's words but there was a small part of him that hoped a little of it got through. More for his Mom's sake then for his own.

"I know but I wanted to." She reached out to lace her fingers with his, making sure to give him the best reassuring smile she could. "Come on let's get out of here."

~Four Months Later~

Sasuke placed his hands on the trunk of the car trying to push it down but no matter how hard he tried he could not get the trunk to close. "Hinata there is too much stuff in here you have to take some of it out and put it in the back seat."

Hinata shook her head she was determined to make everything fit, "It's going to fit besides I already have stuff in the back and I don't want it to be uncomfortable for Hanabi or Konohamaru."

"Can't they go in your parent's car?"

Hanabi was walking over to the two of them and overheard Sasuke's question, "Uh no way am I sitting in the car with Mom and Dad it's bad enough I have to drive back with them. Besides your Mom is going with them and there is no more room in the backseat between her and your junk."

Even though she spoke the truth Sasuke still gave her an annoyed look, "It is not junk."

Hinata was too busy moving around her luggage in her trunk trying to find the perfect arrangement to get the trunk to close to listen to her boyfriend and sister arguing. She let out a satisfied sigh when she pressed down on the trunk and heard the satisfying click of it being closed. She threw her arms victoriously in the air, "Yes! See I told you it would all fit in my car!"

Hanabi shook her head at his sister, "It still feels weird to hear you say my car probably because I'm still in shock you passed your test."

Hinata grinned, "Ninth time is the charm!" With Sasuke's help and encouragement Hinata was able to pass her driver's exam and was gifted a car as a graduation gift.

Sasuke could see by Hinata's excitement and joyous spirit that nothing was going to drag her down today. It was a bit infectious and he felt himself start to smile as he watched her happily sway from side to side. A flash of light quickly wiped the smile from his face and he turned to see his Mom holding her camera. "MOM!" He shouldn't be surprise she had been following him with that camera for the past few months taking pictures of everything. His and Itachi's move into their new apartment, his first day of work at the ad agency he had gotten thanks with help from Hiashi, to him taking Hinata to prom, to their graduation, and almost every day of the two-week double family vacation they took to a tropical resort just a few weeks ago. And a bunch of times in between those, the past few months had been nothing but bright flashes.

Mikoto smiled behind the camera, "Come on Sasuke we are taking you and Hinata to college today you can't expect me not to take photos. Now all four of you squeeze in and say cheese!" Sasuke rolled his eyes but let his Mom take a few more pictures he felt he owed it to her after the time she has been having lately. A few weeks after he and Itachi moved out Mikoto was set on filing for separation from Fugaku but from what Sasuke was told Fugaku begged her not to and promised to go to counseling both for himself and to do couples counseling with her. The idea of family counseling was brought up but Sasuke shut it down immediately. He had seen his father a few times since that last dinner but each time they barely spoke, but lately Fugaku had been calling him. Every Wednesday like clock work his phone would ring at six pm, and he would let it ring until the voicemail picked up. At first, he deleted the messages without listening to them but his curiosity got the better of him and he started to listen to the messages. The messages all were the same for the most part Fugaku asking how he was and rattling on about something before saying he'd try to call him again next week. The most recent one wished Sasuke a safe trip to school and wish him good luck.

He knew it was part of Mikoto's demands that Fugaku have a better relationship with both sons if they were to stay together. He still had no wishes to speak to his father he didn't trust him that this act was genuine so he was maintaining his distance. Itachi gave in his two-week resignation at the firm but was persuaded to rescind it by Hiashi. Who promoted him to his assistant and immediately put him to work on a major case he was working on. He didn't know how Hiashi got their father to agree to that since it was planned for Itachi to eventually assist him instead. Thinking of Itachi made him realize his brother hadn't shown up yet he wasn't going to be able to join them as he was covering for Hiashi at the office but he promised he'd be there to see him off. They were driving straight to Kirigakure and setting Sasuke up today and the Hyugas, his Mom along with Konohamaru would be spending the night in town and tomorrow they'd all go to set Hinata up at her school before the families came back home. He checked his phone to look at the time he was ready to get on the road he's been counting down the days all summer.

"Relax Sasuke I'm here." Itachi's voice soon filled Sasuke's ears and he looked up to see his brother lazily walking over to them.

Sasuke shoved the phone back into his pocket, "Finally, what took you so long."

"I had somethings to handle first but you know I wouldn't miss seeing my favorite person go off to college."

"Yeah, yeah." Sasuke said rolling his eyes.

"Not you, I was talking about Hinata." He gave Hinata a wink that made her smile for a second before Sasuke grabbed her arm and pulled her next to him. Itachi chuckled to himself, "You are so easy to tease I'm going to miss that. Although I'm not going to miss you hogging the shower." Itachi saw Sasuke roll his eyes again but this time there was a slight smile on his face. Itachi held open his arms and beckoned Sasuke closer, "Come on give your big brother a hug I know you aren't going to say it but I know you are going to miss me. Don't worry though I will be up there soon for parents weekend to embarrass you in front of your friends so make sure you make lots of friends so I can do that."

Sasuke reluctantly hugged his brother back they had gotten a lot closer since they started living together on their own and although he was excited to go to college, he did feel weird about leaving his brother for a few months. He felt Itachi's arms tighten around him when he tried to pull back and allowed his brother an extra five seconds before the flash of their mother's camera made them pull apart. Itachi smiled, "I have four things to remind you before you go number one study hard but also have fun, number two you are to call me once a week no exceptions or I will come up there with the Sasuke learns to use the potty photo album." Sasuke heard Hinata trying to stifle a giggle next to him. "Number three make sure to keep this one by your side no matter what." He said gesturing to Hinata. "And number four drive safe."

The last part confused Sasuke, "Drive safe?" He looked over at Hinata who was shaking slightly with anticipation as she knew and had been waiting for this moment all week.

Itachi reached into his pocket and tossed Sasuke a pair of familiar car keys, "Happy Graduation Sasuke sorry it's late it took us awhile to find it."

He caught the keys and stared at them for a moment in disbelief he hadn't seen or held these keys in months. He pressed the lock button on the remote and heard a car honk behind him. He turned his head to see his car parked slightly down the block. "It's my car."

Hinata had the biggest smile on her face as she watched Sasuke stare at his car, "Yes, it is, Itachi and I have been looking for it for months. The guy who your Dad sold it to, sold it to another guy, who sold it again and by the time we found it, it took us awhile to get it back here."

Itachi shook his head as memories of long phone calls and reading through car ad after car ad looking for this car had finally paid off. "I got it last week I took it to get it's tires changed and the engine checked it's all good to go." Sasuke looked at his brother not sure what to say he was in shock that this was happening. He wanted to say thank you but the words were getting caught in his throat, Itachi patted him on the shoulder, "I know, you're welcome."

Hinata was too excited to just stand there and she grabbed Sasuke's arm and started pulling him towards the car, "Come on Sasuke." As she pulled Sasuke to be reunited with his car she handed her keys to Konohamaru and Hanabi who would be driving her car. The car was just as Sasuke last saw it not a scratch on it as he ran his hand over the black exterior before opening the driver's side door and sliding in. Hinata sat in the passenger seat after adjusting her seat she happily ran her hand over the dash board, "Bet you never thought you'd see us again."

Sasuke held the steering wheel with both hands afraid to let it go and wake from this dream he was having, "I can't believe this is real and that you two did all of this."

"We were determined to get you your car back because you deserve it. You worked hard to keep it and you care about this car more than anything else."

"You sure about that last part?"

"Well almost anything." She said with a smile. She noticed her father motioning towards the two of them that it was time to hit the road. "Looks like everyone is ready to go." Hinata said as she put on her seatbelt, "You ready to go Sasuke?"

This was it his new start at University he would begin this new path that he had been working towards for longer than he knew. His future was still to be determined but it was his to do so. It was no longer bleak and dreadful looking but full of hope and opportunities and it was all due to the smiling girl in his passenger seat. It was almost a year since that rainy night where he randomly happened upon Hinata. And in one instant his whole life had started to change and each decision he made along the way with her by his side led him to where he was now. He didn't want to think about the life he'd be living now if she hadn't come in it. He closed his eyes for a moment and took a big deep breath in and out before moving the stick shift into drive, "Yeah, I'm ready."

A/N: Ahh it's over I can't believe it this story was such a labor of love and I hope you all liked it. It was hard to choose where to end it but I wanted to wrap up the final obstacle which was Fugaku. I know a lot of you wanted everyone to dead Fugaku but I felt this was more realistic since Mikoto is devoted to her family. Originally, I had Sasuke seeing Fugaku's car as they were leaving for college but I wanted to keep their story more open ended. Like maybe in the future if Fugaku apologizes for his actions maybe they could have some kind of relationship or maybe not either way our boy is going to be good. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and I will hopefully see you all in my next Sasu/Hina story coming soon.
