"Okay, Emily, I'm going to try and get you walking again using the walking beams," the nurse told Pansy's daughter.

"It's not like that will make a difference," Emily mumbled. Regardless, she allowed herself to be assisted.

"No pressure. If you feel like you cannot do it, we'll bring you back to your bed," the nurse said.

Emily thought about it for a moment. She then shook her head. "I think that maybe I will wait on it for right now."

"Okay. If you say so," the nurse said.
