''Ladies and gentleman I would like to call this years valedictorian onto stage.'' Principal Figgins announces after his hour long speech, he glances backstage and smiles proudly. ''Please give it up for Miss Santana Marie Lopez!''
Brittany smiles proudly cheering as her girlfriend confidently walks onto the stage and chuckles as she hears Maribel, Mario and Kayla cheering from the audience, she turns to their best friends and bites her lip. ''She cried my damn ears full that she fucked her exam up and aced all of it.''
Quinn smiles proudly as she watches her best friend shake Figgins hand with a bright smile and hums. ''Yeah that is San, but I think we are all surprised about our results.''
Puck nods his head in agreement and chuckles. ''Yeah we are.''
They turn back to the stage as Santana clears her throat and lean back in their seats shooting her a proud smile as she turns to look at them.
''Friends, teachers, administrators, and parents, welcome. We are graduating.
Can you believe it? Four years ago, most of us walked into these halls as nervous as we were the first day of school. We were the freshmen, the low men on the totem pole. Now, those same four years later, we're leaving the school behind to a whole new crop of people, most of whom were just as nervous as we were when we arrived.''
Santana starts after glancing backstage at her girlfriend and friends, she turns back to the audience shooting Kayla a wink as she looks at her with a big smile and takes a deep breath.
''It has been a long four years and a short four years. Long because of all the drama and bad homework, the boring readings and early-morning extra credit projects, and all the other little things that hit us in high school. Short because of the lifelong friendships, the lasting memories, and the truly interesting and amazing things we learned.'' She continues smiling as she hears some students chuckle.
Before I get really started, I want to take a moment to thank those of you who have helped me get to this podium today, namely the teachers at this wonderful school, who have no qualms about taking bribes. Just kidding, Principal Figgins!'' She pauses as everyone laughs and smiles slightly.''But seriously, aren't these teachers the best? Give them a round of applause. It's what they live for because we know they aren't in it for the money.''
She bites her lip as everyone claps laughing loudly and shoots the teachers lined up on the stage a smile, she takes a deep breath turning back to her notes and gulps. ''The four years spend in this building were the best but sometimes also the hardest times of my life, I made some lifelong best friends who became my family but we also had a lot of drama some I don't even want to think back about but we all know as soon as you hear mine, my girlfriends or her little sisters name.''
''During this last year we all concentrated on graduating while still trying to live our private lives, some of us succeeded but some of us put it on pause to make sure we would pass the exam. I was one of those who started learning a few days before and well ask my girlfriend how much I complained and how much her ears hurt because I complained the whole weekend after the exam that I failed.''
She pauses as everyone laughs again as soon as she hears her girlfriend yell out her agreement and looks over her shoulder blowing her a kiss. ''What's next? I will be going to college, as will many of my classmates. More of us yet will go to various branches of the armed forces to help keep our country safe home and abroad. Others may get right to work, or even take a year or more off to decide what they want to do. Leaving high school is such a brutal transition, as Principal Figgins put it, that I don't know what the world has in store for any of us.''
She locks eyes with her parents smiling lovingly as she sees her mother dab away her tears and sighs softly. ''I do know how I'll deal with those life events, though: by using the skills and info I've picked up here. It all comes down to help, and I've got plenty of people to thank for that: parents, of course, teachers, friends, girlfriend…. I guess that means the biggest thing I learned in high school is to lean on others when needed.''
She glances down at her notes and bites her lip. ''There's another, more important, side to that idea as well, and it's the one piece of advice I'd like to give you as we get ready to cross this stage for the last time: Make sure you're around when other people need someone to lean on. They'll thank you for it. Heck, one of them might even mention you in his valedictorian speech.''
She smiles as everyone claps loudly and exhales slowly grabbing her notes. ''Congratulation class, we did it!''
She turns on her heels as everyone jumps up clapping once again and walks off of the stage falling right into her girlfriends arms, Brittany smiles proudly kissing the top of her head and chuckles. ''Amazing speech babe, you included everything laughter, tears and eye rolls.''
Santana smiles thanking her friends softly as they agree and cuddles into her girlfriend as one of their teachers take the stage to deliver his speech. ''Thank you mi amor.''
''What is the planning for after this party?'' Quinn asks as she cuddles into her boyfriend glancing at Mr Schue as he takes the stage to deliver his speech, Brittany turns to her and shrugs.
''Spend time with Kay before we drive off in two days.''
''The both of you already brought your stuff to us, so mami and papi already included you into our plans tonight and tomorrow.''
''What is tomorrow?'' Puck asks curiously, Brittany turns to him and smirks.
''Lopez family football trip.''
''No way?!'' Puck asks bouncing in excitement, Brittany nods her head and snickers.
''Yeah Mario scored tickets for all of us.''
''Awesome!'' Puck breaths out smiling brightly, Santana chuckles hearing the excitement in their voices and sits up as the first names get called out onto stage.
''Ssht it's starting.'' She murmurs standing up to lean against the wall, Brittany smiles slightly standing up and walks over to her wrapping her arms around her waist from behind.
''Why so nervous love?'' She asks softly as Mike and Tina get called on stage, Santana turns her head kissing the underside of her jaw and sighs softly.
''Nervous for the change but excited too.''
''Mh I understand I feel the same, this day comes with mixed feelings.''
''Yeah it does, I am looking forward to the drive in two days but I also don't want to leave Kay.'' Santana murmurs softly, Brittany hums in agreement and sighs.
''Yeah me neither baby.''
''Quinn Fabray!'' Principal Figgins calls out, Santana and Brittany immediately look up opting to talk later and cheer loudly as one of their best friends walk out onto stage to receive her diploma.
Brittany reaches out pulling Puck beside them and exchanges a smirk with him, they both lift up two fingers up to their mouth and whistle loudly as soon as Quinn got a hold on the roll.
''Go Q!''
''Proud of you babe!'' They yell out in unison as Santana giggles shaking her head at their craziness, Brittany smiles pulling her girlfriend closer and kisses the top of her head.
''Love you.'' She murmurs softly as soon as Santana intertwines their hands on her stomach, Santana turns her head pecking her on the lips and smiles.
''I love you too mi amor.'' She murmurs smiling lovingly as other students get called onto stage.
''Santana Lopez!'' Brittany pecks her girlfriend on the lips as she gets called and taps her ass.
''So proud of you baby, go get your diploma.''
She leans against the wall as she watches her girlfriend walk out onto stage to receive her diploma after hugging Puck and lifts two fingers up to her lips whistling loudly, she smirks as she turns around to look at her and blows her a kiss laughing as she hears her sister, Maribel and Mario above everyone else.
''Things slowly get real huh?'' Puck asks softly, Brittany hums in agreement turning to look at him and sighs.
''Yeah kinda, Kay woke us up in the middle of the night the past two days to cuddle with us because she can't do that anymore as soon as we move away.''
''But it's not forever, you all know that right?''
''Yeah we do but it's the first time that I will be away from her for longer than just a few days, I know she is in good hands here but it still hurts you know?''
''Yeah I know but she understands it right? She will join us whenever there is a school break and we will fly back home often too.''
''Yeah she knows and she loves the idea of staying here with Maribel and Mario, it's just weird and it will be for a while.'' She turns her head to look at him and smiles sadly. ''I promised our mom to always be near and now after meeting Maribel and Mario I finally feel like I can concentrate on my future the same time my little sister can concentrate on her own, I don't have to pause my own life to be there for her and I don't know how I can thank them for all of it.''
''You are still keeping your promise to your mom B, you just realized that you don't have to do it alone and that it is more than okay to ask for help. Words can't even describe how much I respect you B, you raised your little sister and took over the parenting role while still keeping up with you own school work. Your life didn't go on with no risk and you risked your life more time than once making sure your sister is safe, you are still standing and graduating at the top of the class with a full ride to Rochester waiting for you.'' Puck leans down kissing her cheek and smiles proudly. ''Kay knows that you are still there for her even if you are living in New York, the bond the both of you have is one of a kind and distance won't break that.''
Brittany sniffles wiping away her tears and shakes her head opening her mouth to reply.
''Brittany Susan Pierce!'' Echoes through the auditorium before she can even utter a word, Puck smiles kissing her cheek again and softly pushes her towards the stage.
''Go B.''
Brittany chuckles tearfully and wipes away her tears. ''Asshole.'' She kisses his cheek walking out onto the stage and shakes principal Figgins hand accepting her diploma as she hears her sister and Santana's parents cheer loudly, she thanks him softly walking over to her girlfriend and dabs her eyes knowing tears are still streaming down her cheeks.
''You okay babe?'' Santana asks concerned as soon as she reaches them, Brittany nods her head falling into her arms smiling slightly as she feels Quinn's arm wrap around her waist and sniffles.
''Yeah just Puck being Puck.''
''What did he do?'' Quinn asks curiously.
''Reassure me that my mom is more than okay with me leaving Kay here to go to college and that he respects me a lot that I found the courage to accept help and to decide what's best for myself and for Kay.''
''Sounds like a deep conversation.'' Quinn murmurs smiling lovingly as she sees her best friend wipe Brittany's tears away, Brittany nods her head and sighs.
''Yeah it was and he hit me right in the feels with it, I didn't even get the opportunity to react.''
''I think your tears were answer enough for him mi amor, he knows exactly what you need to hear it's quite scary sometimes.''
''Tell me bout it.'' Brittany murmurs as Quinn snickers.
''The both of you have a bond that looks like longtime best friends or family, it's hella scary but lovely to see.'' Quinn murmurs.
''Noah Puckerman!''
Brittany hums in agreement cheering for her best friend as he walks on stage to retrieve his diploma and laughs as he moonwalks over to them as soon as he shook principal Figgins hand, she high fives him as he slides beside her the both of them pulling their girlfriends in front of them and turn to the principal.
''Students please flip your tassels to the left side.'' Principal tells them after the last student received his diploma, he smiles as they all do as he says and nods his head. ''Ladies and gentleman, I am honored to introduce you to the graduates this year!'' He turns to the students and slightly nods his head. ''Congratulations!'' He calls out as music fills the air.
Brittany throws her cap up in the air as the students, parents and teachers explode into cheers and leans down kissing her girlfriend softly as she looks up at her with a big smile, she cups her cheek covering their mouths as confetti canons explode all around them and wraps an arm around her waist tightening her hold as she dips her.
She pulls out of the kiss as she feels someone bump into her and waves the student off as he softly apologizes, Santana smiles lovingly leaning their foreheads together and runs her fingers down the back of her neck.''We did it.'' She murmurs softly.
Brittany hums in agreement pecking her on the lips and smiles lovingly. ''I am looking forward to start this new chapter in my life with you.''
Santana smiles kissing her once again and tightly wraps her arms around her shoulders as Kayla and her parents crash into them squealing congratulations. ''I am too mi amor.'' She whispers right into her ear, she grunts as her mother wraps her arms tightly around her waist and chuckles. ''Whoa mami, loosen up please.''
''Two of my daughters just graduated!'' Maribel cries out sniffling.
''So proud of you sis.'' Kayla murmurs leaning up on her tiptoes kissing Brittany's cheek, she turns to Santana and smiles lovingly. ''Of you too hermana.'' she giggles blushing as four heads snap over to her in shock and shrugs. ''What?''
''Hermana?'' Santana asks softly.
''Well yeah you are my future sister in law I am sure of that and we are a family, you are my sister San.'' She yelps as Santana pulls her in a bone crushing hug and kisses her cheek. ''I love you San.''
Brittany smiles lovingly watching her little sister and girlfriend hug each other and turns to Maribel and Mario. ''Kay is right.'' She murmurs softly as they hug her close, she kisses their cheeks and smiles. ''We are a family and the both of you are my future in laws no doubt, I love you guys.''
''We love you too mija.'' Mario murmurs smiling brightly, he kisses her cheek and slowly pulls back locking eyes on bright blue ones. ''So proud of you Britt.''
Brittany smiles pulling out of the hug and catches her sister as she jumps into her arms, she rubs her back as she cuddles into her and kisses her temple. ''Love you bug, forever and always.''
''Forever plus a day Flash, I love you too and I am so proud of you.'' Kayla murmurs smiling brightly as she kisses her cheek, they both glance at the Lopez family smiling lovingly as they watch them hug and enjoy each others hug slowly watching the stage clear out as students start to leave.
Santana walks over to the two blondes after talking to her parents for a bit and smiles lovingly. ''Mami and papi are asking if we are ready to go home.''
Brittany nods her head pulling her sister against her side and reaches out intertwining her free hand with her girlfriends. ''More than ready.''
''The next chapter is ready to start for the both of you.'' Kayla murmurs smiling lovingly as she watches her sister and Santana lock eyes conversation without any words, Santana turns her head to look at her after pecking her girlfriend on the lips and smiles lovingly.
''For all of us Kay, but no matter what will happen our bond will always exist and will overcome everything.''
''We might be apart in distance but not at heart sis.''
So this is the end of Count on me, I might add a few one shots following a bit of the future but not too much maybe two or three. I hope you all liked it
