It's still dark out and I'm wearing my nicest jeans and a white blouse Rose gave me. She fills it out better, but I can't say it looks half-bad, even though I wish I had her boobs. Rose always has to leave a few buttons undone but I can close it all the way.
It's just after five in the morning, and the streets are still buzzing, the sirens in the background accompany me on my walk to the Greenview. I get there just in time and smoke my last cigarette. I just hope I'll be granted a few breaks. It's cold and I'm glad I wore my good parka and a wool scarf. Pulling the hood up, the strands of fake fur sticking to my lip gloss.
I go around the back, as Kate instructed. Someone's unloading a truck with fresh veg and fruits and greets me.
"Morning." I smile back.
"Bree, you want to sign for me?"
I look around but the man seems to be looking at me.
"I'm sorry, you have me mistaken for someone else."
He looks up and apologizes.
"Oh, I didn't realize sorry. I saw a small brunette and thought that was Bree." His skin is chocolate, his hair braided down his back.
I really don't feel like bonding with this guy. He gives me the creeps.
"Don't worry about it." I mutter and go inside, almost walking into Kate.
"Bella, hi!" She seems entirely too happy at five-thirty in the morning. I'm a tad nervous as she looks me over. Kate's in her late-thirties and a bottle redhead with alabaster skin. She's wearing orange lipstick that compliments her hair, and a black pantsuit.
"Good morning, boss!" I muster up my brightest smile and tuck some of my curls behind my ear.
"Let me go sign for the delivery and I'll show you around."
It's nice and warm here, so I peel off my scarf, unzip my coat. The floor is a neat, grey tile that shines like a mirror. Everything is white with a wood accent and hints of green as I look through the open door of the kitchen.
"All set, follow me, Bella." Kate takes me the stainless steel kitchen, through the reception area and into her office that adjoins a locker room.
