Chapter 37- AJ and John's Help
"Need I remind you that Rae is a grown woman and that grown women tend to come and go without people assuming that they've been kidnapped?" Erica said.
"Shut up, Erica," Skye said through gritted teeth.
"Actually, Erica is right, dear," Myrtle said.
Skye gawked at her.
"We mustn't assume the worst," Myrtle continued. "Panicking won't do any good. She's probably gone to a friend's place to talk. She was pretty upset. Or maybe she did meet up with John and went to Port Charles with him."
"Well, if neither of you are going to take this seriously, then I'm going to deal with this myself!" Skye said with a huff.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Myrtle asked.
"I'm going to find the person who has been harassing and threatening me and put a stop to all of this. Even if that means interrogating every single person who can't stand me."
"That's a pretty long list," Erica said.
Skye raised her fist, but Myrtle grabbed her arm.
"If it makes you feel better, I will call the Port Charles Police Department and a couple of her friends," Myrtle said.
"Rae has friends?" Erica said in surprise.
"But there is no need to worry," Myrtle said.
"What about breakfast?" Erica asked with a pout.
"You girls ahead," Myrtle said. "I'll go make those phone calls."
After Myrtle left the room, Skye glared at Erica. "You better be gone when I get back."
"And just where are you going?" Erica asked.
"To find the person who is doing all of this," Skye said. "I find them, and I find my mother."
Skye hurried out to the front porch and ordered the guards to stay put to protect Myrtle. She clambered into her car and buckled up. "Port Charles, here I come."
Twenty minutes later, Myrtle returned to the living room where Erica was pacing back and forth.
"The PCPD said John is with Mac Scorpio and can't come to the phone, but there's no sign of Rae there. Vicki Davidson hasn't seen her and there's no answer at the Buchan— Where's Skye?" Myrtle asked.
Erica plopped down on the couch and sighed. "Does it really matter?"
"Yes. Where is she?"
"Gone to look for the person who's doing all of this. She is such a pest, but at least she's gone for the time being."
Myrtle grunted. "This is terrible! Now I'm more concerned about Skye out there than I am Rae. Rae is probably perfectly fine."

Skye rang the doorbell at the Quartermaine mansion. She didn't wait three seconds before pressing it again. Then held it for 30 long seconds before the door swung open.
It was a woman she hadn't met yet, though there were pictures of her in the living room when she came for dinner.
"Who the hell are you and why are you trying to make us all go deaf!?" the woman snarled at her.
"My name is Skye, and I am a Quartermaine!"
The woman rolled her eyes. "Oh, it's you."
Skye raised an eyebrow. "You've heard of me?"
"Painsickenly, yes. I thought Daddy blotted you out of the family name a long time ago!"
Skye clenched her jaw. "Who do you think you are speaking to me like this?"
She grinned at her. "I am your Aunt Tracy."
"Well, Aunt Tracy, I am not here on a social visit. I demand to see AJ right now!"
Tracy crossed her arms. "Just why do you need to see him?"
"None of your business! Now, where is he?"
"I do not respond to demands," Tracy said.
"It's an emergency!" Skye pushed past her and into the living room. "AJ? AJ!?"
He was sitting on the couch arguing with Ned. He scrunched his face. "Skye? Dad's not here. He's at the hospital."
"I'm not here to see Dad," Skye said. "I'm here to see you."
Tracy rolled her eyes. "You can't just storm in here uninvited! You may have Quartermaine blood in you, but you certainly are not a Quartermaine."
Skye whipped around. "I need to talk to AJ alone."
"Whatever you have to say to him, you can say in front of me and Ned," Tracy said.
Skye groaned. "Fine. Whatever…" She turned back to AJ. "There isn't much time. You have to take me to Carly."
"Why?" AJ asked.
"Because someone is targeting my family and I have to figure out who even if that means confronting every single person who can't stand me. Carly declared war on me right before I was locked in the boathouse! So, I'm going to start with her."
"You're saying you think Carly has abducted my mother?" Tracy laughed. "Carly is a lot of things, but how would she move her on her own? Sonny, maybe. But not Carly."
"I have to start somewhere!" Skye rose her voice. "The person has taken my mom now!"
"Good," Tracy said. "That little gold digger should've been taken care of years ago."
Skye jumped at her, but AJ held her back. "You shut up about my mother!"
"Skye, calm down," AJ said. "Michael and I are meeting Carly at Kelly's in twenty minutes. You can join us."

"This is appalling," Myrtle said as she paced Rae's living room.
"I take it we're not having breakfast," Erica mumbled.
"How Skye thinks she can handle this man… or woman alone," Myrtle said. "Rae will kill me for letting her get out there."
"Should I go meet up with Opal instead?"
"I need to get a hold of John Sykes," Myrtle said. "He'll help me find both of them—"
But they heard the sound of keys at the front door, then Rae walked in.
"Oh, sweetheart!" Myrtle walked over to her. "You're all right."
She hugged her and Rae nodded. "Yes, Mama. I'm okay now."
"We were a little concerned, especially Skye."
Erica groaned. "Are you ready for my told you so?"
"I shouldn't have taken off like that," Rae said. "I let my emotions get the better of me."
"Where exactly did you go?" Erica asked.
"I was walking, and I passed the police station. I was going to go in to break up with John, because I didn't want to lose Skye."
Erica gawked at her and walked over to them. "Hold it!" she raised her hands a little. "You were going to break up with your man because your daughter told you to?"
Rae shrugged. "Well…"
"If you ask me, Skye was crossing the line… way over the line," Erica said. "Nuh uh… if Kendall ever told me who I can or can not date, she would be seeing the door!"
Rae rolled her eyes and continued. "So, I stood out there for the longest time. I didn't quite think the way Erica is saying… but Skye is going through so many emotions right now, and so I am I quite frankly. She's not seeing things clearly and I'm not seeing things clearly. I needed to talk to someone outside of the situation. So, I went to talk to Renee."
"Renee Buchanan?" Erica shook her head. "As in Asa's wife? The Buchanans are just as bad as the Chandlers! You should have just talked to me." She placed a hand over her chest. "I would have knocked some sense into you."
"Renee is a good friend of mine," Rae said. "She's been by my side all along and she's going through the same thing. She doesn't know how to bond with Ben and doesn't know whether to completely drop Max out of her life. And Asa hasn't reacted to this well at all… anyway, she said pretty much the same things you did, Mama. To make it clear to Skye that being with John won't get in the way of my relationship with her. But that it'll only make things worse if I break up with John."
"She's right," Myrtle said.
"I need to talk to Skye. Is she in her room?"
"Actually… she was quite worried when she saw you leave without a guard. She imagined the worse."
Rae frowned. "I never meant to scare her. I better let her know that I'm okay."
"Skye's not upstairs," Myrtle said. "You see… she was quite frightened and felt very guilty after your last conversation."
"Oh no, what did she do?"
"She only went on a hunt to find this creature who is threatening her!" Erica cut in. "Now, if we're not going to have breakfast, then just say it!"
Rae's eyes bulged. "I beg your pardon?"
Erica cleared her throat. "Are. We. Going. To. Have. Breakfast!?"
"Skye assumed the worst," Myrtle said. "Since we couldn't find you in the neighbourhood, she decided to go out there and find the person who has been threatening you."
"She said she would find you if she found them," Erica added.
Rae smacked herself in the forehead. "I shouldn't have run off like that. I should've known she'd do something like this."

"We're going to see Mama?" Michael asked as he held AJ and Skye's hands as they walked.
"Yes, we're going to see Mama," AJ said.
"Why doesn't she live with us?" Michael asked.
"That's… very complicated, buddy."
They stopped outside of Kelly's and Michael looked up at Skye. "You have red hair like me."
Skye smiled. "Yes, I do. I'm your Aunt Skye."
"Are you coming to see Mama too?"
"Yes," Skye said. "I really need to talk to her, because I need to find my mother."
"Do you miss your mama too?"
Skye paused in thought and stared at the ground for several seconds. "I've always missed her. I just didn't know what that emptiness was at the time."
AJ started to open the door when Skye felt something grab at her arm. She whipped around to find John Sykes standing there with Mac Scorpio.
"What are you doing here?" Skye asked.
"I'd like to ask the same question," John said.
"Can we go in now?" Michael asked.
Skye groaned. "You guys go on in and I'll join you in a minute."
She watched as AJ took Michael in and Michael ran into Carly's arms.
"Mac and I heard that Carly would be here, so we came to question her—"
"I'm sorry," Skye cut in, still looking through the window at AJ, Carly, and Michael. "There, I said it."
"Sorry for?"
"For… for being rude to you and saying cruel things. And for wanting my mom to break up with you." She finally looked up at him.
John raised an eyebrow. "That actually sounded genuine. Much more genuine than when I coerced you into apologizing to Rae about the articles."
Skye clutched onto his arm. "Look I know I suck at painting and making the bed and job hunting, and I have no people skills, and I'm a horrible daughter, granddaughter, and whatever it is I am to you, but you have to help me! Please help me!"
"With what?"
"Finding my mom!"
His cheeks flushed. "Rae is missing?"
"She walked off without a guard after our fight and we can't find her."
"It's only been a few hours since I last saw her," John said. "Are you certain that she's really missing?"
Tears streamed down her cheeks. "Yes!"
"Why are you so certain?"
"Because nothing I love ever stays!"
