We exited hyperspace it had been about two weeks since kadavo the guilt had finally left Kenobis eyes. His sassy spark had returned
"The distress signal is coming from here the meridian sector, cybloc system" Kenobi said
"It is close enough to the earlier attack." Gallia said
"I have a feeling it's them." Kenobi replied. We landed on the bank
"They ought to be flush" the banker said" the chips were all unlocked with no way to trace them all done by the two crabbiest Zabaraks this side of the Hydian."
"They were alone?" I asked
"Yup yup . What were they a couple of Jedi gone rogue or something?" He asked
"They're not Jedi." Kenobi said.
"Do me a favor spark up that lightsaber, would you?Mm-hmmm well, the droids that got attacked said that theirs were red." He said
"They are Sith and we need to find them before they strike again." Kenobi said
"Well they took my cargo ship. The droid survivor said they heard something about the Sertar sector." He said.
"What is I. The Sertar sector?" Gallia asked
"That's where florrum is." Kenobi said
"You've been there?" She raised an eyebrow."what can we expect?"
"Pirates." He said solemnly.
"Don't say it like that they're not the worst people out there" I said lightly.
We reboarded the ship.
"What do we know about these pirates?" She asked
"They drink and steal and occasionally hold people for ransom." I said. We exited hyperspace
"We have a match on the cargo ship." Gallia said
"It seems Maul and Savage have picked up a pirate escort." Kenobi said
"Maybe to unload the stolen cargo." Gallia said
"I'm not sure the pirate Hondo would have an alliance with Maul and his brother." Kenobi said
"He wouldn't If anything these men have betrayed Hondo" I said.
"So you know this Hondo personally?" Gallia asked the two of us
"Unfortunately,yes." Kenobi said
"Yes I know him he was a friend of my fathers and you kenobi are being dramatic" I said.
We set out a call to him
"Greetings hondo." Kenobi said
"Greetings? What kind of menace have you brought to my planet now? First, you lose this system and Grievous comes in and destroys my entire stronghold, leaving me to rummage through the leftovers of my once great empire. And now these two horned men show up. Who are these horny headed maniacs? They don't seem like normal Jedi." He ranted I chuckled lightly
"They're not Jedi my old friend they're Sith" I said.
"We tracked them here." Kenobi finished
"They just threatened to attack with a group of my men. My own men!" Hondo shouted. I looked at Kenobi an I told you so etched into my features.
"Yes, we are looking at them right now, a cargo vessel and three of your starships. They are heading towards you,Hondo." Kenobi said
" Da-da-da, more to the point, are you going to help me when you get here?" Hondo asked
"There's nothing we can do about your men, but we can certainly do something about the Sith." Kenobi said.
"Good. I'll deal with my men. You deal with those tattooed crazies." Hondo said
"Right." Kenobi said the hologram vanished as he hung up on us.
"You do have a plan right?" I asked. I was given no response.
We landed on the planet Hondos men engaging in a fire fight. We rushed out of the ship.
I heard the familiar whoosh of a lightsaber.
"Throwing in with pirates now?" Kenobi asked" Oh how the mighty Sith have fallen." Both Kenobi and Gallia ignited their lightsaber. I whipped out the staff.
Maul attacked Kenobi well Gallia and I took on Savage. We kept down into the rumble of Hondos destroyed fortress. Savage force shoved Gallia into the side of a destroyed building ramming into her with his horns. She fell forward and Savage sent his lightsaber through her back.
"No!" Kenobi shouted. He lept down to kick Savage. He swung his lightsaber down on Savage only to he stopped by Mail
We fought being pushed back.
"Kenobi this way" Hondo shouted. Kenobi used the force to collect Gallias lightsabers force throwing me towards our escaped and jumping after me. We took of into the lowly destroyed base.
"Take this cannon down the hall we will ambush those traitors there."Hondo said.
"Where are the rest of your men?" Kenobi asked
"They're setting up an ambush" I replied.
"We can use your help"hondo said to both of us
"Where is the other Jedi?"
"She's... She's dead." Kenobi replied
"She's d... They are too powerful for even you? I am semi speechless." Hondo said
"I think they went this way." I recognized Jiros voice
"Let's go down the hall here." Another said.
We all pointed our guns in the direction of the voice.
"I shall draw the brothers away. Once that's done blast the passageway closed." Kenobi said
"And leave you alone with the two crazies?" Hondo asked
"He won't be alone" I said.
"Well, okay. Be careful Fett lest I have to tell young boba you got yourself killed." He said I nodded.
The siths turned the corner hondo and his men took of running.
"Retreat Retreat!" Hondo shouted
"Do not let them escape!" Maul ordered. Kenobi and I split from the group. I smirked as I heard the hall collapse. Kenobi and I stopped
"Surrender. We are two and you are no match for us both." Maul said
"Again right here" I said dryly under my breath.
"You are mistaken" Kenobi said he ignited both sabers and I whipped out the staff.
Maul lept at kenobi as did Savage I blocked savages saber. Ducking to avoid mauls. Kenobi kicked maul back well Savage and i dueled. Maul kicked me back I skidded to a stop at the end of the hall. I got back up. Savage was on the floor and Maul had Kenobi in a force grip. Slamming him into the wall. They swung their blades at them. He barely blocked them I sprinted down the hall at Savage . I kicked out Savages knee. Kenobi ducked under him his blade slicing through savages arm.
"Savage!" Maul shouted. Savage groaned in pain. Maul force threw Kenobi and i down the hall collapsing the entrance behind them.
Kenobi rubbed his head and groaned.
"Why is it I'm always being pushed around when I hang out with you" I whipped standing up.
"Couldn't tell you let's go" He replied grabbing the sabers we took of down the unblocked hall. We exited to see Hondos restored men opening fire on the two Sith. One of the pirates launched a rocket severing mauls leg. Kenobi and I chased them down. Kenobi lept over our ship I scampered underneath it.
"Well, Kenobi let's get out there and see what riches have fallen from the sky for me and you." Hondo laughed. I grinned
"Shall we" I asked
"Very well" Kenobi replied.
We hopped onto some bikes making ur way to the crash site.
I chuckled picking up some of the credits an pocketing them
"If the condition of these goods are any indication your friends have been vaporized." Hondo said
"I wouldn't be so sure. I cut one of them in half once and he survived." Kenobi said
"Obviously you weren't aiming high enough." I said
Hondo lent us one of his ships and we flew back to Coruscant we were brought to meet with the chancellor.
"I think we have closure on this matter, Master Kenobi." The chancellor said
"I disagree, Chancellor. Everything we've learned from this is that the Sith are persistent. They will not die." Kenobi said
"I understand your reservations, Master Kenobi, bu I'm afraid we can no longer allow this personal matter of yours to be a republic concern. I does not appear this Darth Maul is a direct threat to the Republic. We need to redirect your efforts to the cause at hand: stopping count Dooku and thus ending the clone wars." The chancellor said
"Maul was trying to build an army of pirates." Kenobi protested
"So let him. Let him play with the rabble. They're just petty crooks. It is of no relevance to the senate compared to the Separatist threat Good day, Gentleman." The chancellor said before leaving the room.
"Something is stirring in the underworld." Kenobi said
"The crime families have had to much free rein since the Jedi have been distracted by the clone war." I said
"I fear it is a fertile place for Maul to flourish, if he has indeed survived." Kenobi said
"Hmm, right you may be, Obi-wan,but heed the words of the Chancellor we must. A personal matter this is for you. Clouded your judgement may be. In time if he lives, reveal himself again Maul will. And then swiftly we shall act." Yoda said.
We all walked out of the room. Unease grew in me something was going on.
