Every time I think I want to wrap this up, I can't! I enjoy writing the fluff so much. If you like this, I want you to check out Explosions and Pastels by Readrbug21, which is so cute I literally can not.
Dedicated to Sanjana and Kristen, whose kindness is the only reason I am stupid enough to keep pretending to be a writer.
I don't own things, okay?
She collapses onto the couch with a groan. Her feet acheāher backaches.
"I feel like I got hit by a bus. Why did we agree to help Sheen and Libby redecorate again?"
"Because they asked," Jimmy answers as he sinks next to her.
"True," she sighs. "So, did you get the baby monitor up?"
"Yes, but only after several attempts," he groans. "Sheen couldn't decide where he wanted it, so it took way longer than it needed to."
"Tell me that it was the first variation without the constant mood monitoring."
"Yes, but I still argue that feature would be useful!"
"It's also creepy. I mean, when our baby comes-" the rest of her words freeze in her throat.
"Comes? Does that mean what I think it means?" He inquires, his voice a reverent whisper.
"It does," she admits.
Jimmy's answering grin is so bright that it could rival the sun. "How long have you known?"
"A few days," she sighs, "this isn't how I imagined telling you."
"It was perfect," he says as he brushes a hair back from her sweat-soaked forehead. His palm rests on her cheek as he meets her eyes. She feels like she's a flower budding in the spring, a knot unraveling in threads of shimmering silk. "We're having a baby."
"Which, with my luck, will have your giant head," she adds with a playful smile.
"That is how genetics tend to work. I could tell you the exact probability if you want."
"Don't talk dirty."
He laughs, and then he kisses her hard. He kisses her ear, jaw, palms. She sighs, reveling in the warmth it brings. His mouth comes back to hers when someone scoffs loudly.
Libby is standing in the doorway with Purple Flurps, rolling her eyes at them. "Don't defile my brand new couch. Do you hear me?"
Cindy grins at Jimmy, who is blushing as he moves away. She feels the small secret growing inside of her and thrumming between them. She will tell Libby and Sheen eventually, but for now, it's theirs.
