Angel

Issei woke up with Asia latched to his body. He looked around and noticed that they were not in his room, but in hers. Strange, considering that Asia shared a room with Irina and Xenovia. He noticed that neither the knight nor the ace were present. Asia's state of undress made him think that they had done something that he was trying to wait for. His memory soon cleared and he remembered just falling asleep with her. Somewhere in there, she must have gotten naked.

"Silly girl." Issei leaned up and kissed her forehead as she slept. After a while, he got up and started his way downstairs. He planned to grab some food and give Asia breakfast in bed.

He walked through the halls of his outrageously large house and found Kuroka and Koneko waiting for the elevator to go down.

"Morning kitten and cat." He patted both of their heads. Another set of footsteps came up behind them. "And you too Lady Phoenix."

"I thought I told you to cut that out already." She growled at him.

"Call it revenge for calling me 'Lord Issei'."

"I did that out of respect." She fired back.

"Who says I'm not?"

"Me."

"Me." Koneko chimed in.

"Yea, you're just getting under her skin again." Kuroka laughed.

"That has never been proven." Issei chuckled and wrapped an arm around the darker Neko. "How's your little passenger?"

"I can't tell if he's angry at me or happy. He just kicks." Kuroka placed a hand on her swollen belly. She was now in her sixth month and her baby had been beating up her insides badly.

"Well as long as he doesn't hurt you, we're good." He kissed the pregnant Neko.

"Hey!" Koneko complained. Ravel's flushed cheeks said she had the same complaint.

"Alright, come here." Issei chuckled as Koneko jumped up and kissed him.

"Better." She hopped down and joined her sister.

Ravel slowly approached him. "Me too."

"Okay." He tilted her head up and kissed her gently. "There."

"Come on guys. I'm sure breakfast is getting cold." Kuroka scolded after watching her sister and Ravel.

"Knowing Asia's nature, they haven't had a chance to start yet." Koneko added.

"Actually, Asia is still asleep." Issei laughed nervously, hoping the others didn't get jealous.

"Oh? Did the nun want to get freaky with the Dragon?" Kuroka teased.

"No, no, nothing like that. She was just tired after our day out yesterday."

How he pulled that off, he'd never know. But the girls seemed to go with it. The group made their way to the kitchen and found Rias teaching Irina how to cook.

"Now put ¾ cup of flour here." Rias instructed and the angel did as she was told.

"This really isn't as hard as it looks." Irnia cheered as she got it right.

"Well, if you want to learn to make the best pancakes ever, then talk to Ravel. Hers are bested by none." Issei surprised the two girls.

"Oh, good morning Issei." Irina turned and blushed towards him.

"Good morning to you too, Irina." Issei walked up behind Rias and kissed her.

"Any particular reason that Asia is not down here?" Rias asked him.

"She's still asleep. I planned to bring her breakfast in bed to thank her for all the times she's woken up early to cook for us."

That's a great idea. I'll prepare a tray for her right away." Rias turned to get started when a yawn came from the doorway.

"What smells good?" Xenovia asked as she stretched her arms up.

"Rias was teaching me how to cook." Irina accidently knocked over the bowl of batter and covered her shirt. "Oh goodness. That didn't work at all."

"Here let me help you." Issei quickly took off his shirt and tossed it to her. "You can wear it while yours gets washed." Irina left the room and changed shirts. When she came back, her cheeks were red.

"T-Thank you." She handed her shirt to him and he left to put it in the washer. While he was gone, she had something on her mind. "I want to love him." Her voice was soft and low.

"Then do it." Rias patted her shoulder. "He loves all of us, you included. Don't think that he will ever forget his childhood friend."

"I know, but what if I fall because I love him?"

"You can love him and not fall Irina. Only if you think impure thought or do impure things will you fall." Xenovia tried to help, but not being an angel made it hard.

"What should I do?"

"Ask him to take you out." Kuroka added. The dark neko was taking her morning vitamins and drinking milk.

"Ask me what now?" Issei reentered the room and found a flustered Irina surrounded by the others.

"Irina here was thinking about asking you on a date." Xenovia butted in. It was all for the good of her friend.

"I-I…" Irina stuttered. This whole situation was embarrassing.

"I'd be happy to." Irina looked up to see Issei holding her hand. "I'd be more than happy to take you out today Irina."

"Okay."

"Rias can you be a doll and finish up here while Irina gets ready?"

"Of course, my husband." Rias giggled. She was happy for Irina.

Irina hugged Rias and took off to her room. When she got there, she opened the door to find Asia. The blonde was still naked on her bed, but she had been bundled in the covers. The angel was appalled at the sight but reasoned that they didn't do anything sexual. She quickly grabbed her clothes and changed in the bathroom.

Issei was standing at the bottom of the stairs waiting for Irina. The angel was usually punctual, so this was a bit odd. Eventually, he heard her voice call his name as she came down the stairs.

"Did you have a plan for today?" She asked nervously.

"I was gonna ask if there is anything in particular you wanted to see or do."

"I don't know. I've never done this before." She looked down in shame. She couldn't help but feel like she had failed him.

"Okay, how about we go to the park where I met Asia."

"Sure." Irina had yet to see the place where Asia had first met he Red Dragon and was excited.

The angel, devil duo walked throughout the city until they reached their destination. The day was nice without a cloud in the sky. Irina was amazed at how beautiful it was. "Issei, this place is amazing. She sat down on a bench and he sat next to her. "So how did you meet her?"

"She was trying to find the local church. But of course, being the klutz she tends to be, she tripped and fell." He pointed to where she had fallen. "I helped her up. It turned out that she spoke a different language and I could only understand her because of my devil powers. I helped her to the church and that was about it."

"That doesn't explain why she's so attached to you though." Irina was confused.

"Did Rias ever tell you how Asia became a devil?" Irina shook her head. Issei took a deep breath. "A Fallen Angel named Raynare. She was also responsible for me becoming a devil. Asia and I were out on a nice day like this. When we got back to this park Raynare found us. Apparently, Raynare was looking after Asia at the time, only because she wanted her sacred gear."

"That's awful."

"Raynare gave Asia a choice. Go with her and save me or die by my side. Asia chose to go and save my life. Afterwards, Rias sent us on a mission to get her back. We found her at the church where I had left her a few days before. She was strung up by chains, much like Jesus on the cross. Raynare took her twilight healing and drained her life force."

"She killed her?" Irina was shocked that she had never known this about her friend.

"Yes and no. Asia was still breathing when I got to her. Kiba and Koneko kept the mages occupied and I got Asia out of her chains and brought her to the main room of the church. It was there that she died in my arms. I remember the smile on her face." Issei started to cry at the memory. "I remember how happy she was that she got to meet me." He wiped his eyes. "Anyway, Rias defeated Raynare and reincarnated Asia as her bishop."

"That's horrible. How can she be so cheery all the time after all of that?" Irina was crying too. This was a new side to Asia she never knew. "I'm sorry Issei. I shouldn't have asked."

"No it's fine. It's only fair that you know our past." Issei put his arm around her. "I kinda wish that you were a devil like me. Don't get me wrong, I'm proud that you're and angel. And Michael's ace no less. But I wanted a chance to love you the way I love the other girls."

"Then do it." She leaned into his shoulder.

"Do what?"

"Love me like you do the others." She turned to face him.

"Won't you fall?"

"I don't care anymore. I love being an angel, but I think I love you more." She leaned up and kissed him. It wasn't long before he returned it. "I… wow. I've been waiting to do that again for a long time."

"What do you mean 'again'?" He asked.

"I may have kissed you when we were kids." Irina turned away at her own admission.

"You mean back when I thought you were a boy?" Issei chuckled as he pulled Irina closer. "Don't worry about it." He leaned in and kissed her again. Right before he pulled back, he noticed something troublesome. Irina's wings were out and flashing. He quickly but gently pulled away from her. "Irina, your wings…"

"I don't care Issei. If I fall, I can be with you forever." She was about to kiss him again when a golden circle opened up in front of them.

To their surprise, Michael himself appeared.

"Lord Michael!" Irina shot up and away from Issei.

"Hello Irina, and you Issei."

"What's up Michael." Issei said calmly.

"Irina. I got a distress signal that you were in danger of falling." Michael wasn't accusing her of any wrong doing.

"I apologize Lord Michael. I was giving in to my desires, but Issei stopped me."

"It's okay Irina." That shocked both the devil and angel. "I have seen how you feel towards the Red Dragon, and I have made my judgement. For you, I will bend the rules a bit. To reward both of your hard work in Heaven as well as the Underworld, I will grant you the ability to be with Issei Hyoudou."

"Lord Michael, are you saying what I think you're saying?" Irina smiled so brightly, it rivaled the glow of her halo.

"Yes. You can love him without fear of falling. Of course, no intercourse until marriage, that is a rule I will not break." Michael smiled and left the two to be alone.

"In that case." Issei stood from the bench and kneeled down. "Irina Shidou. You are my oldest friend. We may be on two separate sides, but I love you anyway. I don't have it now, since I didn't plan on it. But I promise to give you a ring as soon as possible. Irina, will you marry me?"

The angel was ecstatic to say the least. Minutes ago, she was told that she could love Issei freely without fear of falling, now he was proposing to her. "Of course." She jumped into his arms and kissed him. "Thank you Issei. You've made me so happy."

I always wanted Irina to be happy too. Hope you guys enjoyed this one. :)
