Chapter 37-The Trap
The group had just gotten out of Senoia and were going down the road once again. T-dog was in the semi with Ofelia. Ofelia reaches into her bag and pulls out a chocolate bar. She looks at T-dog. "Want some?" Ofelia asks. T-dog smiles at her and nods.
"Where did you find that?" T-dog asks.
"Took it from Glenn before we left," Ofelia says. She breaks the chocolate bar in half and hands the other piece to T-dog, who takes a bite and lets out a sigh. "Good?" Ofelia asks.
"I haven't had chocolate since the world went to hell," T-dog says.
"I just take it from Glenn," Ofelia says. T-dog laughs.
"Well, you'll have to wait for them to find us," T-dog says.
"Do you think they'll all make it?" Ofelia asks him.
T-dog looks at her. "No," T-dog looks away from her and back towards the roads. "Splitting up the group was both a good and bad decision. On one side, Daryl was right. If there are too many of us, we could run each other over. On the other side, it means that if we run into a smaller group. We'll have problems," He says.
"We also have more kids. We have Lizzie, Mika, Carl, Charlie, Louis, and Eliza," Ofelia says. T-dog nods.
"Let's hope we don't run into any problem," T-dog says as they go down the road.
Martinez's group
Martinez drives down the road. Gideon was in the passenger seat. Milton and Haley were sleeping in the back, and Shumpert was in the bed. Gideon was reading a book that he had taken from his cabin when Martinez started to slow the car down. Gideon looks up. "What the hell?" Martinez asks as he stops the car. In front of them was a chain across the road. Attached to the chain were walkers making a roadblock. "I have never seen anything like this," Gideon says as he gets out of the car. Martinez climbs out as Shumpert gets out of the bed. Haley and Milton climb out of the truck.
"Gideon, Milton, and I will kill the walkers and move them. Shumpert and Haley need to watch the woods," Martinez says. Haley and Shumpert nod as they watch the woods. "Milton. Gideon and I will kill the biters. You pull the chains out of the biters and pull them off of the roads," Martinez says. Milton nods as Martinez and Gideon pull out their knives. Martinez goes up to the first walker and stabs it in the head. There were six biters tied up to the chain. Milton grabs the chain and pulls it out of the first walker as Gideon and Martinez start to kill the others. Haley and Shumpert watch the road and help Milton move the bodies. After the bodies were moved, they unattached the chains from the trees and put the chain in the bed.
"Shumpert, keep your eyes open," Martinez says to Shumpert as he gets back in the car. Shumpert nods as they start to go down the road again.
Daryl's group
T-dog stops the semi and climbs out of the truck. Ofelia follows him as Rick, Abraham, Reid, and JJ climb out of the U-Haul. Daryl, Alicia, and Travis get out of the bus and walk up the semi. "This is interesting," Reid says.
"Walkers tied to a tree by a chain is interesting?" Rick asks him.
"Have you ever seen anything like it?" Reid asks him.
"Good point," Rick says.
"Who the hell would do this?" JJ asks.
"I don't know, but I don't want to stick around and find out," Travis says.
"Abraham, T-dog, and Rick help me move these walkers. The rest of you stay alert," Daryl says. The three men nod as they start to kill and move the walkers. Daryl looks around. "There are no tracks. These people covered 'em up," Daryl says.
"Do you think they are in the area?" Alicia asks him. Daryl looks around.
"Yes, let's get this done," Daryl says. They move the walkers fast and get back in the cars.
Martinez's group
Martinez drives down the road and stops when a woman runs into the road. Martinez opens the door and pulls out his gun. He aims the gun at the woman. Gideon and Shumpert get out and do the same. "Who are you?" Martinez asks. She holds her hands up. "Did you put those biters on the road?" Martinez asks.
"No, I'm Kelly," Kelly says. Kelly is black with black hair and brown eyes. "The people who set those traps. They took my sister, our friend and me. I got away," Kelly says. "I need help. They set up two roadblocks and then take the people or kill them," Kelly says.
"Okay, we're gonna help you. I'm Jason Gideon. This is Martinez, Haley, Milton, and Shumpert. How far are these people?" Gideon asks as he looks at Kelly.
"No far, a mile," Kelly says. Martinez looks at Haley.
"I'm good," Haley says. Martinez nods as they grab their weapons from the car, and they grab bags and put them on their backs. Gideon hands Kelly a handgun. They head into the woods as they follow Kelly to her sister and friend.
Daryl's group
T-dog stops the semi once again and climbs out. The others follow. The only people left in the cars were Lori, Amy, Carl, Charlie, Lizzie, and Mika. Daryl walks past Morales and his family and to the front. "What the hell?" Daryl asks as he looks at the next group of walkers tied to a chain. There were cars behind them.
"Daryl, someone is trying to slow us down," Jake says. Daryl nods as they hear brushes move. They aim their guns as a girl runs out of the woods.
"Get down!" She yells. Daryl gets down as gunfire goes off, four members of the group go to the ground, and the rest get into cover and under the cars. Daryl holds his handgun as the men shoot at the cars. He looks at Alicia, who was on the other side of the U-Haul. He looks at the side of his arm, which had been grazed. T-dog crawls from under the car and sits by him.
"What now?" T-dog asks. Daryl looks at him as the gunfire ceases.
"We fight," Daryl tells him as T-dog pulls his handgun out. A little bit away from the cars at the people's camp. Martinez, Gideon, Haley, Shumpert, Milton, and Kelly stop and look at the group. Both groups were so close to each other, yet they both had a fight ahead of them.
Thanks for reading. In case you guys down understand. Four people in the group are dead. You'll find out who they are next chapter, and Kelly is now in the story. The girl will be revealed in the next chapter, and so will the group. In case you didn't understand, Kelly is Connie's sister, and the friend will be Luke so that you know. Now I know this is an unusual time to bring this up. But I'm going to anyway. When characters are introduced, from now on, they will be the age of the time they were introduced in their show. So when Enid is introduced, for example. She will be 16 like she was in season 5, with that being said. Unless their age has been stated, the kids such as Carl, Sophia, Lizzie, Mika, Clem, and Charlie. Carl and Sophia would be 14. Lizzie and Charlie 12. Mika tent and Clem 11. Andre is five. I don't think I am missing anybody. I hope this all makes sense, and this will be easier for me. As always, suggestions, ideas, and feedback are welcomed. Until next time.
