Ever since the group split in two, a day has passed.

Mimi, Joe, Matt, T.K, accompanied by Chuumon and Wizardmon, and their partners, have all been traveling to find the way out of the forest section of the mountain to get to the desert and find the base where the resistance might be.

At the moment they all took a rest in a clearing, their partners giving them fruit to have a meal.

"How much longer are we going to walk?" Mimi asked in quite a tired tone.

Chuumon munched on an apple as he sat on her lap. "I don't know the layout of the mountain, but it shouldn't take long."

Matt looked at the sky. He looked at the sections of their world that loomed over them, as a constant reminder of their reason to continue on moving forward.

Even though they learned the reason of why they were chosen, he still didn't liked the situation completly. He was constantly fearing for T.K's life and his own, and his friends' obviously. And that was tiring him out. He was this group's leader since he was the only one with a partner able to reach the Mega Level and he had to be the one to protect everyone against any enemy. And again, that was tiring him.

"Let's just eat and continue on our way so we can get this over with," Matt said in a gruff tone.

'Matt...' T.K watched his brother with worry, as he saw how he barely slept last night due to him keeping guard in case any Digimon attacked.

Wizardmon was floating above them and watching everywhere to see in which direction to go. "I can already see part of the desert," He informed. "If we continue to the south we'll reach it in no time." He said getting back to the ground.

"That's all well and good, but what then?" Gomamon asked. "How are we going to find that resistance group in such a big place?"

Joe sighed. "That's the elephant in the room. Who knows how long it will take us to find those members in the resistance and warn them of Machinedramon—If we can trust Puppetmon's word that is. Speaking of whom, he is the only one that knows his way around the mountain, so it's possible the others might find that army before they attack."

"Again, if we can trust his word," Gomamon rolled his eyes.

Mimi groaned. "Why must all of this be so difficult!?" She said in exasperation. "Why couldn't homeo-whatever give us a map or something to find that group?"

Matt merely sighed. He wasn't all that content with that entity. He understood the need of them being here to help, but couldn't she just ask?! He was frustrated, tired, and a bit homesick—Although that wasn't anything new.

Then, they all noticed something strange in the sky. A black smoke was gathering and forming a giant black ball, far up into the air and over the forest.

"What is that?!" Palmon asked in shock at seeing that thing.

The smoke started condensing into a ball and started to gain a more solid form. It just stood there for a few minutes, hovering into the air. Even from the ground they all realized what that ball was, and it was only confirmed when it started falling towards the ground.

"It's a meteor!" T.K gasped.

"We don't know where it'll land!" Wizardmon exclaimed. "Everyone take cover!"

They all ran as far way from the impending ball of doom that was falling from so high in the sky and towards the land. If it landed anywhere near them then the shockwave will cause them a lot of damage.

So they all ran away from where they were all resting, hoping to get away from the disaster looming over them.

On another section of the forest, oblivion to the danger, someone ran for his life, away from the remnants of Puppetmon—Or more accurately, Cherrymon—Forces

Even though Puppetmon has betrayed the Dark Masters, and Cherrymon is dead, their forces still acted on the orders of hunting dowm any intruder.

The Digimon running for his life stopped and turned to face the Woodmon pursuing them. "Stay away from me, freaks! You won't caught me alive! Pummel Whack!" A black energy in the shape of a fist was launched at the group of Digimon with the form of trunk, that was the Digimon that was being chased characteristic attack—Ogremon's characteristic attack.

The attack deleted some of the attackers, but it was a whole army so it didn't make a difference. Ogremon cursed and attacked again. "Pummel Whack! Pummel Whack! Pummel Whack!" Attack after attack, Ogremon launched dark blasts of energy at his enemies, but for one he took out two more to its place.

Cursing under his breath, the ogre launched another Pummel Whack into the floor and lifted a cloud of smoke to cover his escape.

He jumped from tree to tree while cursing his luck. He was just wanting to find a place where no one would bother him and then suddenly he was dragged to this forest because those damn Dark Masters decided to fuck the world up.

So now he had to be constantly on the run to evade getting delated and getting found by... him.

He growled as he remembered his rival, and how he dismissed his presence the moment the Dark Masters appeared.

Eventually the trees disappeared and he had to leaped out. Unfortunately that wasn't enough to lost his pursuers, they were all hot on his heels and breaking anything on their path to him.

"Goddammit don't they tired out?!" He said and continued on running.

Yet once again luck wasn't on his side, as he found himself face to face with a deep-as-hell cliff.

"Grrr... FINE!" He turned to the Woodmon. "I'm going to kill you all if necessary!" He said taking out his club to face them.

The Woodmon had him surrounded, he couldn't back off, both from pride and because of the fall that awaits him if he did.

But blessings sometimes come in disguise.

A shadow covered the whole area and both attackers and victim looked up to see a giant ball surrounded in fire about to crash on them.

Between a sword and a wall, or in this case a meteor and a cliff, he choose to jump off the cliff while the meteor erased the Woodmon and creating a giant explosion followed by a shockwave.

While he was falling, Ogremon had only one thought in mind.

"FUCK MY LIFE!"

Meanwhile, from where the meteor landed a figure stared rising from the crater. Flexing his muscles and kissing them.

He only had one thing to say.

"I'M BACK, BITCHES!"

"Everyone hang on tight!"

Killua and his group all hold on to trees as the ground beneath them started shaking.

"What was that?!" Puppetmon asked holding to dear life at a tree.

"An explosion?" Tai guessed, as he hold Kari close to him.

The tremos started to stop and the group let go of their trees. "It stopped," Izzy sighed relief.

"Izzy! It was a meteor!" Tentomon said as he observed everything that was happening from the sky.

"A meteor?" Sora cocked her head. "How's that possible?"

"A Digimon's doing, maybe," Killua said. "However it must've been a powerful one..."

"No one in this territory is stronger than me, thank you very much!" Puppetmon said, crossing his arms in a smug fashion.

"I just hope the others are okay," Kari said, looking into the forest.

"I'm sure they are; Matt's with them, he and ZeedGarurumon can take care of anything. And there are no other Dark Masters around here," Tai reassured his sister.

"Speaking of which," Killua turned to Puppetmon. "In which direction do we go so we can reach Machinedramon?"

"Ummm," He looked around and pointed south. "That way! That leads to his city!"

"City?" Gatomon questioned the puppet.

"The big dumb-head make an entire city to be his base, kind of like my house!" Puppetmon said in reminiscing.

"A whole city, no doubt it will be guarded as heck," Sora mumbled. "Do we have a plan?"

"We need to get to that city and check its defenses and where that army is," Killua said. "Once we have enough information we dismantle them and stop them from attacking the resistance group. I hope we make it in time before they're dispatched to attack them..."

"And to do that definitely, we need to take Machinedramon out," Tai concluded. "With the Dramon Breaker VictoryGreymon has it should be easy."

"Meeeeeeeh," Puppetmon drawled.

Killua gave hima blank stare. "Something to add, slave," He took out the remote to emphasize.

"W-well, Machinedramon's entire body is made of Chrome Digizoid, like MetalSeadramon was, so I doubt a single sword will be enough," The puppet said, trying not to get on Killua's bad side.

"Well if we managed to break MetalSeadramon's armor, we can with Machinedramon," Agumon mused.

"Good luck with that," Puppetmon rolled his eyes. "AGH!" He received a level one discharge. "WHY?!"

"Seemed fitting," Killua smirked and everyone else sweatdropped.

He cleared his throat. "Anyway. Puppetmon, lead the way, and if you lead us to a trap I'll level it up to ten," He said showing the control.

Puppetmon gasped. "I would never do that!" He seemed hurt, but everyone knew better. "... Okay maybe before, but you are my buddy! I would never hurt you."

"If you say so," Killua said with a deadpan expression—Shared by the rest of the group, even innocent little Kari.

"I do!" Puppetmon said. "Follow me!" Like a militar, Puppetmon started marching towards the desert, guiding the rest of the group.

Killua looked back from where he could see smoke, probably from the meteor, and couldn't help but have a bad feeling about all this.

With Matt's group, they all went to inspect the place where the meteor crashed. "That's the place!" He said, pointing at the top of a cliff, where smoke was rising.

"How do we get there?" T.K asked.

"I don't think we should go there," Mimi said. "It could be a trap."

"Mimi's right," Matt said. "But I wonder from where did it fall..."

"From our world, maybe?" Joe guessed, but even he thought it sounded like a stretch.

"Highly improbable," Wizardmon said, confirming what everyone else thought of the theory. "Anything in the human world that comes in contact with the distortions gets frozen." Wizardmon said, remembering the events prior to going back.

Gomamon, meanwhile, sniffed the ground. "Hey... This smell familiar."

"Familiar?" Palmon asked him.

"Familiar how?" Patamon questioned.

Gomamon didn't answered and started running in the direction of the smell.

"Gomamon, wait!" Joe said and ran after him.

"Don't run off on your own!" The others followed him after him to another side of the forest.

Gomamon just continued on his way as his nose guided him. He smelled this scent before, but he couldn't remember from where, Agumon had a better sense of smell than him but he wasn't any slacker in that regard.

They reached the side of the cliff and saw someone covered in twigs and branches. "Someone's there!" Gomamon said.

The group gasped, seeing someone buried by all of those objects. "We have to get them out!" Matt said, rushing forward to get the Digimon out of there.

Joe and Wizardmon helped, taking the branches out of the injured body. "He must've fell from the cliff," Wizardmon guessed.

Matt and Joe took the last branch of the body and gasped, taking a step back, as they recognized who it was. "Ogremon!"

Wizardmon seemed confused. "Who?"

"An enemy, from File Island!" Matt explained.

Gabumon looked at the ogre. "He seems to be injured..." He said, noticing the scraps and bleeding forhead of the ogre.

"Maybe it's an act for him to attack us!" Joe said, taking a defensive stance.

Someone, whoever ignored this and decided to help. Mimi knelt beside him and took a handkerchief to clean his bruises. "This is no act! He is injured and we have to help!"

"But, Mimi, he could attack us..." Chuumon mumbled, knowing of Ogremon's reputation.

"We have a champion, three Ultimates and a Mega in our side!" Mimi declared. "If he tries anything we can deal with him in a moment!" She said with narrowed eyes. "But now he needs help."

Wizardmon nodded. "I agree with Mimi, he is no threat and I see no reason to leave a Digimon by his luck with the Dark Masters running wild, and whatever that meteor was." Also he couldn't help remembering that once he was in the same situation, when Gatomon rescued him many years ago.

He knelt beside the ogre and his hands glowed a green color. The wounds in Ogremon started stirring and he opened his eyes—Eventually his sight settling his sight in Mimi. "Y-you..." His eyes widened. "The Digidestined!"

He got up and grabbed his club, even though Wizardmon healed most of his wounds he was still tired. "W-what? Did you come to finish me off?!"

Mimi huffed and crossed her arms. "That's all you can say? After Wizardmon and I healed you?"

Wizardmon shook his head. "Forget it, Mimi, I've seen this kind of Digimon before, they won't say thank you even if their lives depended on it."

"What?!" Ogremon said offended and turning to the wizard. "Why you-"

"Let's go, guys," Mimi said. "We shouldn't lose any more time." She said walking past her friends leaving a gawking Ogremon behind.

Matt winced. "Yikes, remind me to never get on Mimi's bad side." He told his brother and partner.

"Dully noted," The two said.

Everyone turned and were ready to leave the healed ogre behind.

Ogremon sputtered at seeing them leave, he wanted to prove them wrong, but seeing as they didn't even regard him as a threat anymore signified that they may have grown stronger after leaving File Island... Just like him.

He sighed and swallowed his pride. "I-Ah... I... T-thank you."

The group stopped and turned to see the ogre with smiles. Mimi stepped forward. "You're welcome."

Matt walked to him. "Ogremon, do you know where to find the resistance group?"

"Resistance group?" He asked, but then his face lightened in recognition. "Ooooh... Them."

"So you do know!" T.K said with a smile.

Ogremon scoffed. "Yeah I guess. But I don't want to go with those losers."

"Losers?" Patamon questioned.

"Yeah, trying to fight the Dark Masters only to get their ass kicked," He said. "Their lucky they haven't being eliminated!"

"Listen!" Matt said taking a step forward. "Those Digimon need our help! And ever since we arrived here we've been looking for them! So drop the act and tell us where they are!"

Ogremon took a step back at the furious kid. All around him he could see determined or angry scowls looking at him. Again, he felt cornered. He sighed.

"Fine," He said. "I can take you there, but then, I'll take my leave!"

The scowls eased a bit, some turning into grateful smiles. "Thank you!" T.K said.

Ogremon looked aside. "Whatever."

A thought came to Gomamon and he turned to the other Digimon in the group. "Hey... Don't you think Ogremon sounde like Killua just now?"

Everyone looked at the ogre, noticing that he also had silver hair like the former assassin in their group. They all chuckled at the thought.

"ACHOO!"

"Bless you."

"Thanks guys."

"HA! You have snot dripping through your nose."

"Did I just heard you want a level 6 discharge?"

"I'LL BE QUIET I'LL BE QUIET!"

Now with Ogremon leading them, the group started to make their way towards the resistance group's place.

But as they walked they heard something, deep in the jungle.

"Ooooo~ooooh!" A call to the wild echoed among the forest.

The group stopped. "What was that?" Chuumon asked, placing himself in Mimi's shoulder like he used to do it with Sukamon.

"Ooooo~ooooh!" The call came again, this time getting closer.

Matt narrowed his eyes and got his Digivice out. "Gabumon."

"Right!"

Everyone did the same... Except Mimi, she seemed unsure about what to do.

"Oooo~ooooh!" This last yell was accompanied by a shadow swinging from a vine and landing in front of the group. "Hello~ Digidorks!"

This new figure was completely made of metal that shined with the sun, it had monkey features and a pair of sunglasses.

Only one enemy fit those characteristics.

"ETEMON!?" The Digidestined all gasped.

"Who?" Ogremon and Chuumon asked.

Wizardmon just seemed confused. "I thought you guys beat him."

Etemon waved his finger in a manner of denial. "Nu~uh. I'm better! I am MetalEtemon!" He declared. "You must be asking how I made my great comeback so-"

"Gabumon Warp Digivolves to... ZeedGarurumon!"

The supreme tank beast appeared in a flash of light and pounced upon the metalic monkey. Etemon yelped and tried to push the wolf away. "Ah! Bad dog! Bad!" He used his legs and pushed the Digimon away from his face.

ZeedGarurumon landed on his paws and growled at the evil Digimon. "I don't care how you came back, I'll finish what Metal Greymon started! Zeed Cannon!" He launched a dark blue blast from the cannon on his back.

MetalEtemon leaped out of the way and jumped on a tree. "Let me say it! Mega Punch!" He leaped down and charged a fist to attack the wolf. He charged through the blast, barely receiving any damage, and punched the wolf in the head, sending him bouncing back and causing him to reverse back to Gabumon.

"Gabumon!" Matt said in shock and fear.

"Just one hit?" T.K said in fear at seeing his brother's partner defeated.

"Now!" MetalEtemon produced a microphone from... somewhere. "Let me start from the start~" He said in a singing voice. Correction. An awful singing voice. "When Metal Greymon~ And the freak defeated me! The darkness consumed me~! For years I was destroyed and reconstructed in ago~ny! My hate grown for you ki~ds and so my time has come and today my revege will faaaaaaaaaaaaal down!" He finished.

Thank the gods.

He smiled at them. "Now! Are you prepared to die?!"

Joe, T.K, and Wizardmon raised their Digivices and staff respectively, ready to act in defense against the evil monkey.

Ogremon looked ready to bolt out of there, to save himself and abandon the kids. And Mimi seemed unsure of what to do. That monkey beat their Mega Digimon with just one attack, how could they beat him?

But then, help reached them.

"Infinite Arrows!" Thousands of golden arrows rushed out of the forest to attack MetalEtemon.

"What the- Owowowowwow! Dicks! Dicks!" He yelped as they imbedded themselves in his skin.

From the jungle, a new Digimon appeared. A giant lion with golden mane and big fangs sticking out of his mouth landed in front of them. He turned to them and spoke with a familiar voice. "Get on, Digidestined!"

Ogremon seemed annoyed. "Leomon!"

"Leomon?!" The Digidestined were surprised again, at seeing their friend from File Island's new form.

"You won't get away!" MetalEtemon said. "Mega Punch!" He launched himself at them.

The new form of Leomon acted fast. "Infinite Arrows!" The hairs on his mane were launched at the monkey like sharp projectiles.

MetalEtemon received the attack and now he looked like a porcupine. "YEAOUCH!" Unfortunately his body of metal resisted the arrows and he wasn't deleted, they felt more like thorns buried in his skin.

"Now! Let's go!" Leomon roared at the group.

None of them protested and got on the giant lion's back and they ran deep into the forest.

MetalEtemon tried to chase them. "Get-Ow! Back-Ow! Here-OW!" He did so as he tried to get the arrows out of his metalic body.

SaberLeomon, Leomon's new form, moved at a high speed as he ran through the forest with the children and Rookies on his back. Ogremon decided to run instead of riding his hated rival's back.

"Leomon, where are we going?" Matt asked.

"To the base of the resistance," SaberLeomon answered.

Ogremon huffed, both in tiredness and in disdain. "This dumb-head is the leader of that pop band."

"It is not a pop band!"

"Yeah, sure."

Wizardmon looked at the lion. "SaberLeomon, there's something we have to tell you..."

SaberLeomon sighed. "It's about Piximon, right? He's gone... Isn't he?"

Mimi lowered her head. "We're sorry, he did it for us..."

SaberLeomon let out a sorrowful sigh. "It is a heavy loss. He was a good friend and mentor to some of the troops, but the time for mourning will come soon. We are arriving."

Leaving behind the natural scenario that was the forest section, they now entered something resembling a ghost town.

There was no color at all in the buildings and sky, only grey and black. Most of the buildings that composed the town looked like something out of the old west, like taverns and chapels, although there were some exceptions.

Matt looked around the place until his eyes settled in a particular building. "Joe, look!" He said poiting to the building.

Joe looked where Matt was pointing and gasped. "That's- That's the building where we were forced to work!"

The old restaurant where Matt and Joe along with their partners were basically slaved by Digitamamon and Veggiemon stood there, mostly in ruins.

Gabumon was confused. "I don't get it, that building was close to a beautiful lake, what happened to it?"

"The land has been warped by the Dark Masters and they took every part that seemed to fit better their territory. Now we are entering Machinedramon's territory," SaberLeomon explained.

They raced to a local chapel with a western style. At entering they all dismounted SaberLeomon and he reverted back to being Leomon. Mimi smiled at seeing him. "Even though you told us, it's good to see that it's you Leomon!" She wrapped the big Digimon's torso in a hug.

"It is good to see you too, Digidestined," Leomon said, returning the hug to the girl. "But I can't stay like that permanently."

"How were you able to evolve like that?" Patamon asked.

"When you utilized the Digivices in File Island to purify my body of the Dark Gears' influence, the light that bathed me unlock that potential within myself," The lion explained.

Wizardmon walked forward as the two broke the hug. "Leomon, there is something we need to tell the other members you and the other members of the resistance."

"None of that!" Ogremon exclaimed, stepping forward. "Not until this bastard gives me my rematch!"

Leomon gave his 'rival' a disappointed look. "You are still going on on that? Don't you realize there's more important matters at hand right now?"

"More important!?" Ogremon asked, offended. "I'll show you important!"

The ogre charged at the lion with his clun over his head. But such reckless attack leaved openings in his stance, and Leomon took advantage of this by giving a powerful punch to his gut that forced the green Digimon to his knees. "Gaaaah..."

Leomon shook his head. "You are never going to learn are you?" He asked, disappointment clear in his voice. He turned to the group who just stared awkwardly at the quick defeat of the ogre. "Let's go to the main square on the town, there we'll reunite with all the members of the resistance."

Everyone nodded and followed the lion—Ogremon included after he recovered. A few blocks down the chapel, they stood in the middle of an open area in the center of the town.

Leomon cleared his throat and opened his mouth.

"ROAR!"

And he let out a big roar that echoed across the town, forcing the children and Digimon present to cover their ears.

Then, from different houses in the town, Digimon started to come out. It was mostly composed of Champions and Rookies, but there were a few ultras there and there, all of them gathering in the plaza. There were different Digimon with them: Gazimon, Gizamon, Monochromon,

And some faces were recognized by the Digidestined. Mimi and Palmon's face lightening when they saw two familiar Digimon amongst the group. "Ah! Otamamon and Geckomon!" Mimi exclaimed in delight.

The two Digimon skipped to the front of the crowd with happy expressions. "PRINCESS MIMI!" Geckomon said.

"YOU ARE BACK! TAMA!" Otamamon exclaimed, tears in her eyes.

Chuumon's eye twitched, from Mimi's shoulder. "Princess... Mimi?"

Wizardmon eyed him. "Jealous?" He whispered.

Chuumon looked at other way and crossed his arms. "Not at all!"

Mimi wasn't the only one to recognized someone amongst the crowd. Matt saw two white spots in the crowd anda grin etched in his face. "Monjyamon! Frigimon!"

A Digimon with the appearance of a yeti and one similar to a bear made of snow waved at Matt. "Long time no see," Frigimon said in a friendly tone.

"Good to see you're back, kid!" Monjyamon gave him a thumbs up.

A small figure made its way amongst the crowd. Giggling to itself as it eyed the Digidestined. "So you are back, sunnies."

T.K and Joe looked down and smiled at whom they saw. "Babamon!"

The old witch gave them a smile. "Ah, it's nice to see you're all okay. I trust your other friends are safe as well."

T.K nodded. "Yup, they are... Hey, where are the Numemon?" He asked.

Babamon sighed. "Sadly when those Dark Masters appeared we got separated. It's a good thing Leomon found me or this old bones would be data again."

Their faces dropped at hearing that. Fearing for the safety of their former crew.

"Leomon!" A voice called amongst the crowd. The children gasped when they saw it was none other than Centauromon. "I see that you are back. And with the Digidestined as well."

Leomon nodded. "That's right. And they bring news to us."

At hearing those words, the crowd stared expectantly at the group. They all stiffened at the looks everyone was giving them.

Wizardmon cleared his throat and stepped forward. "Members of the resistance. We have gained information that Machinedramon has plans to attack this settlement, it's possible that he has already dispatched his troops in this direction!"

As it was to be expected, the crowd erupted into chaos due to the fear. Many Digimon started muttering to each other things like 'what do we do?' 'Are they really coming here?' 'We have to run!' 'We have to fight!'

Leomon gripped the handle of his sword at the thought of his loyal comrades being attacked by the enemy. "Damn those Dark Masters!" And damn his inability to stay as SaberLeomon permanently.

Babamon sighed tiredly. She was old enough to be present for the Dark Masters first appearance so many centuries ago, being reborn over and over everytime she reached an old age—Something that arrived sooner and sooner each time—so she knew what they were capable. 'And we are without Primary Village too...'

The Digidestined all looked at the chaos liberated from the announcement. Everyone in the group felt an immense pressure building within themselves. One that increased as they started hearing yelling.

"What do we do?!" A Gazimon asked to the Digidestined.

"Tell us, do we fight?!" A Gizamon asked.

"Do we run?" A Monochromon asked.

Otamamon looked at Mimi. "Princess, I'm scared. Tama!"

"Tell us what to do!" Geckomon begged.

Mimi took a step back as she heard their pleas. "Ah... I..."

"Matt, do you know what to do?" Frigimon asked the blonde. "You knew what to do when those Dark Gears possed us!"

"Or what about you, lad?" Monjyamon asked T.K. "You are a Digidestined too, right?"

Both brothers exchanged uncertain looks at the questions the two ice Digimon were giving them.

"We aaaah, our friends went to..." Joe tried to explain.

"Why aren't the other Digidestined here?!" A voice demanded.

"He's trying to explain!" Gomamon said in his partner's defense.

The yelling didn't stopped, the Digidestined, and the group in general, felt cornered as the Digimon members in the resistance all continued to ask for guidance from the Digidestined.

Leomon and Centauromon watched the group discomfort. They exchanged looks and the lion nodded. He cleared his throat.

"ROAR!"

And with a roar he commanded silence over his compatriots.

"My friends!" He said, authority clear on his voice. "I know you are scared and anxious about what's to come! But we need to remain calm and discuss this with our allies in a civilized manner! They are tired after fighting with the enemy! So let them recover strength and then we will discuss about what to do!"

The crowd calmed down and started to disperse back into the buildings with dejected looks on the face.

The Digidestined and their partners were left with looks of uneasiness on their faces at the bombardment of questions. No one knew how to answer, after all they only had a Mega to rely on and they don't know how their friends are doing against Machinedramon or if they even arrived there.

Centauromon looked at them and bowed. "We're sorry, Digidestined. The situation is dire, and fear is a common sentiment."

"I should have discussed the news with you to deal with this better," Leomon said. "My apologies."

"Don't worry about it," Palmon reassured, while the children nodded.

"Follow me, I'll lead you to a place for you to rest," Centauromon said, guiding the four kids, their partners, and Chuumon to one of the buildings.

Wizardmon meant to follow but felt a hand on his robes. "Not so fast, sunny."

He looked down to see Babamon smiling at him. "I recognize your kind, Wizardmon. I heard you have some magic spells that might come in handy~"

"I... Yeah, I do," Wizardmon nodded, remembering why he agreed to come to the resistance's place. "Do you need help?"

Babamon nodded. "In our latest excursion we have some injures... And many loses," He said in a sad tone. "So come help me, dear."

Wizardmon nodded. "Undestood."

While that was happening, Leomon and Centauromon took the rest of the group to a house of just one floor, in the inner part of the town.

The lion Digimon gestured to the house. "You'll stay her for the time being, it's one of the available houses in the town," he explained.

The interior of the house, like everything in the town, was a dull grey. There was no furniture in the living room, there was no kitchen at all and there were only two rooms.

"I guess boys in one, girl in the other," Matt say, dryly.

"Tomorrow we can discuss about what you told us, more calmly," Centauromon said. "Then we'll prepare for the fight."

Mimi clenched her fists. "Again with fighting... I'm sick of it!" She said. "I know we have to, but many could die! We could die! How can we be ready for that?!"

The whole group stared at Mimi with worried expressions after her outburst. Palmon and Chuumon looking specially concerned. "Mimi..." They both said.

She sighed. "Why couldn't we fight with the Dark Masters since the beginning? Why send us to File Island and then to Server Continent?"

"HA!" Someone barked a laugh and they turned to see Ogremon standing in the doorframe. "And you think you could've defeated the Dark Masters without the Tags and Crests? You would have been eliminated since the beginning!" The ogre taunted.

Matt growl. "You listen here-"

"Even if he's rude about it," Centauromon said, getting between the two. "He is right. The forces of the Dark Masters are bigger than any Digimon you've faced before, you needed to first develop the powers of the Crests before facing them."

"But... At the least none other Digimon Piximon would have died for us..." Mimi said, bowing her head in sadness at the thought of the Digimon that died during the Dark Masters reign of terror.

Leomon put a hand on his chin and thought for a moment. "Maybe your staying in File Island was a test of some kind."

"Test?" T.K asked, tilting his head.

"I mean that maybe destiny put Devimon in your way as a test to your strength. If you hadn't defeated him then it would show you weren't ready to face the Dark Masters. Yet time and time again you showed that you could triumph over the evil forces like Etemon and Myotismon. That is enough proof that you can defeat the Dark Masters and that right now is a good time to attack them. Once we deal with this army you told us about," The lion declared. "But first you all have to go to sleep."

The group all nodded, not having the energy to discuss with the lion.

Babamon lead Wizardmon to a residential building where various Digimon laid on some beds, they had bandages wrapped around them with medical herbs to ease the wounds.

"I'll take you to those with the more serious wounds," Babamon said. Wizardmon nodded and followed the old Digimon. "And I hope you don't have any plans for the night, sunny. This is just the first floor," She informed, causing Wizardmon to sigh.

A Geckomon was lying on the bed, his arm and both legs wrapped in bandages, and they were obviously in pain. Wizardmon opened his palm and started healing with his green touch.

Their face eased and they breathed with more calm. Yet they didn't woke up. Wizardmon grow nervous but Babamon calmed him. "Don't worry, sunny. It's just sleeping, now without a pain."

Wizardmon smiled at that and they continued working, moving through different floors to treat on different patients.

After a while, and moving onto the next floor to treat on new patients, they were interrupted by a knock in the door.

They turned and saw Joe standing by the door frame. "H-hello... Sorry to interrupt, but... I was wondering if I could help in something."

Babamon and Wizardmon exchanged looks and then the old Digimon walked to the bespectacled boy. "If you know how to wrap bandages around a body and make an unconscious drink bitter medicine then you are in, kiddo."

Joe smiled and nodded, entering the room to help the two magicians in their task with the injured Digimon.

Wizardmon just did his thing. He let his healing spells flow through a patient, some would stay unconscious but breathing more easily and their faces would be more at ease.

Joe and Babamon were a bit more complicated. Babamon would use her staff to detect the injuries and then she would instruct Joe in how to apply the medicines and bandages.

In the middle of this process she showed Joe different herbs, native from the Digital World.

"If you grind this yellow one into dust, then it'll work to disinfect a wound," She said, showing a yellow herb to the boy. Then she showed an red one. "This one helps as a heater if the temperature of a Digimon gets really low, due to an illness or the attack of other Digimon, you have to turn it into a paste and apply it all around the affected body."

Joe took note of everything the old witch told him, finding everything fascinating and couldn't help but think of methods to implement what she was teaching in the Human World, of course if the herbs could affect humans that is—He wasn't ready to test that out.

Eventually they had to take a break—Specially Wizardmon since he was tiring his magic out.

The wizard sat in a chair, setting his hat aside and panting. "Sorry... It just... Take a lot out of me."

"Don't pressure yourself, sunny," Babamon said while handing him a cup of coffee—Or something similaf to coffee.

"Yeah, you're doing great Wizardmon," Joe said. "You've been a great help since we came back."

Wizardmon snorted. "At least you think that..."

Immediately he regret saying that, as Joe and Babamon gave him questioning looks, almost worried. He sighed and cursed his slip, and decided to elaborate. "You see... Ever since we returned, I feel like I haven't done anything of value. Tai, Matt, Killua, Agumon, and Gabumon are the ones in the frontlines. Both VictoryGreymon and ZeedGarurumon managed to beat MetalSeadramon and Killua got us a new ally."

He left out on purpose who the ally was, in case Babamon could judge them wrongly.

"And the only thing I've been good at are my healing spells," He said. "And I can't even reach the Ultra Level since I have no partner. Doing it by myself... I don't think I'll have the time to try it with everything happening around us."

Wizardmon finished his explanation, expressing the feeling of powerlessness he had ever since they returned to the real world, nay even before that, since they faced VenomMyotismon.

Surprisingly, Joe smiled. "I get it, Wizardmon. I feel the same way," he said with a sad smile.

Wizardmon stared at the boy in surprise, while Babamon just stayed quiet and listened to her two temporal assistances.

"I mean. Like you said, Tai and Matt are the only ones with the ability to face with the Dark Masters with the Mega Level of their partners. And Killua has always been the leader, he traces every plan and makes sure we stay out of harms way when's necessary," Joe said. "So it's like all of us are just sitting in the sidelines while they do the heavy work."

He let out a heavy sigh after finishing his tirade. "That's part of why I came here to help to... Do something...?" He didn't sounded sure himself.

There was a heavy silence after his statement. Both of them shared that feeling of being powerless against their enemies. They felt that they didn't have any use in the group when the two Megas and Killua did most of the job. It was frustrating, but there was no helping it.

Babamon them whacked the two upside the head.

"OW!" They both said in pain.

"Is the pity party over?" She asked. "So what if you're not all powerful? You just proved that you are useful for other things!" She said pointing to all of the recovering Digimon.

Joe and Wizardmon looked at her with surprised expressions.

"You may not know this boys, but I am a Mega Level too," She said, much to the shock of the two. "Yeah, yeah, I know; I'm not an all powerful Digimon that can beat everyone in one hit. But I have the ability to take care of the wounds of others. Everyone is here for a purpose, sunnies, everyone has the potential to be useful." She said with a smile.

Those words elevated her two helpers' spirit. They never thought of that that way, they focused so much merely on the fights and how to be of use in them that they never thought of the use they could have outside of it.

"Well... Now I feel a bit dumb," Joe said with a sheepish laugh.

"He, so do I," Wizardmon said, scratching his head.

"Of course you do! I didn't get to my age without learning a thing or two about life!" The witch said. "Now break time is over, and you!" She pointed to Joe. "Should go to sleep! I can see that you are tired by today's whole ordeal! You can continue on helping us tomorrow at first hour!"

At first he wanted to discuss it, but he could feel his body asking to rest after the events of that day. "Okay, I'll take a break."

"I'll stay, right?" Wizardmon asked.

"Just a bit more, sunny," Babamon said. "A few other rooms."

The wizard nodded and Joe left the room after a quick goodbye.

And so the job for the mages continued.

Wizardmon healed the ones with the most serious wounds. Some of them woke up and stayed to rest, others stayed asleep and breathing more easily.

Babamon however also teached him so basics just like with Joe, for when he rans out of stamina to use his spells again.

After healing many injuries Wizardmon started to feel dizzy and sick. Many Digimon had burns or scars that would not go away with just his magic.

With a sigh, he shook his head. "This is awful," He said.

"That's war, sadly. Those Dark Masters are merciless," Babamon said, applying more medicine on an innocent Kokatorimon's wing. She made more medicines after healing the poor Digimon, while Wizardmon healed other injures. "I've been meaning to ask you something," She said. "Where were you before, sunny? Last time I met with the Digidestined you weren't with them."

"I... I joined a while later," Wizardmon said. "When they defeated Myotismon."

Babamon shook her head. "The Myotismon kind is known for being quite ruthless. I met one a looooooong time ago, in my first cycle of life. Quite the nasty fellow."

Wizardmon snorted. "All of them are the same I guess," He turned to the old witch. "I don't mind to be rude, but... How many cycles have you lived."

"Kyjijijiji!" The lady giggled. "I'm old enough to be everybody's grandma--Even that big chunk, Leomon--Let me tell ya that I even met the first Digidestined."

Wizardmon's eyes grew like plates. "You did?!"

"Oh yeah~" She said quite proudly. "Their number was shorter than the ones you're traveling with. Only five of them with their respective partners, and the anomaly." She frowned. "Although... Something wasn't right about that boy, let me tell ya."

Wizardmon cocked an eyebrow. "Really?"

"Uh-huh," She mumbled. "He was a natural leader, don't get me wrong. But my bones told me that he was a twisted one. His eyes seemed like he saw everything just as a game or something for his amusements, even his own partners, thought they never seemed to notice."

Wizardmon's curiosity was peaked. "Maybe Killua knows something about him, after all Nen is said to be known by a selected group in his world. What was his name?"

Babamon turned to him and told him his name.

And Wizardmon decided that next time he meets with Killua he'll ask him if they met.

It was night and MetalEtemon growled as he lost track of SaberLeomon and the Digidestined. "Curse that lion! I was so close of finally getting my revenge!" He cursed. "Hmmm maybe I could try and look out for the freak..." He mused.

But his thoughts were interrupted as he heard rumbling noises coming from behind some trees. He peeked and gasped as he saw a giant army of Tankmon in line, marching towards a certain direction.

He leaped in front of them and held a hand up to signal them to stop. "Woah woah woah! Where's the party you're going at?" He asked.

The lead Tankmon glowered at him. "We are going to destroy the resistance's camp by Lord Machinedramon's orders!"

"Lord whomon?" MetalEtemon asked, tilting his head. "There's only one ruler in this land and it's me!"

Tankmon pointed his guns at him. "Such insolence!" He sais as he started firing.

The attack was point blank and it causes an explosion in the spot where the metalic monkey was standing. There was no way he could have escaped such attack.

Until a metalic fist smashed his head open.

The other Tankmons gasped as they saw their squad leader burst into data after the attack.

MetalEtemon dusted his hanss off and grinned. "Pussy!" He turned to the others. "Now... Does this camp has a pretty little kitty with them?"

"Grrr... How dare you!" With a battle cry, many of the Tankmon charged at the monkey.

MetalEtemon smirked and cracked his neck.

He received every attack from the big army head on. The bullets fired at him bounced off his now polished skin. He jumped to the sky and held up his fists. "Meteor Punch!" Like a comet he plummeted down to the surface of the forest.

His fist make impact and caused and explosion that caught many of the Tankmons attacking him.

He leaved only Ten of them alive, out of forty.

He smirked and kissed his muscles. "I'm just the best!" He turned to the remaining tanks, who were trying to shrink away from him. "Now, you guys can live as long as you take me to that camp. But first answer my question... Is a kitty amongst them?"

The Tankmons looked between each other and nodded, deciding that answering was their best option. "Yes, their leader is SaberLeomon."

"SO IT IS WITH THEM!" He turned to the tanks. "Gentlemon! Take me there so we can destroy that bastard! I have some good news for you! Not only I am your new magnificent leader, but a couple of Digidestined are with them! And with my help we can destroy them all!"

The Tankmons' eyes widened when they heard about the Digidestined's presence in the camp. They looked between each other, as if reaching an agreement and nodded. "Very well, we'll take you there as long as you can kill the Digidestined."

MetalEtemon's glasses shined. "Deal!" He mounted on one of the Tankmons head and pointed forward. "Onward!"

Fighting back a sigh, the Tankmons continued on their way to fulfill their mission, now with an annoying ally.

Matt was the first to wake up from the group. He was standing in the same place where Leomon made them tell the truth about the attack.

He gripped his Digivice with force. He was the only one that could prevent such a thing. He and Gabumon were the only ones to reach the Mega Level and so it all fell on him. It may be a lot of pressure but he could handle it.

"Bro?"

That little voice startled him. He turned and saw T.K with Patamon and Gabumon, all of them still looking ready to continue sleeping.

T.K rubbes his eyes sleepily. "What are you doing up so early?"

"It's nothing, squirt," Matt said. "I just woke up and needed to clear my mind a bit."

"Hmm," T.K mumbled as he stifled a yawn.

Before they could say something else an explosion could be heard across the town. Smoke raising from its entrance. "W-what?!"

In the edge of the town, MetalEtemon and the Tankmon squad were all destroying anything in their way. "THE SUPERSTAR IS HERE~!" The monkey declared.

From the center of the town, that loud and annoying voice could be heard, as all the Digimon from the town started coming out of their houses. "MetalEtemon?!" Both brothers and partners exclaimed in surprise.

The rest of the group, including Wizardmon, arrived. "What's happening?!" Mimi asked.

"The army Machinedramon sent has arrived," Patamon said. "And with MetalEtemon!"

Leomon stepped forward. "Children, evacuate the town to the outskirts," He turned to Matt. "I'll fight alongside you!"

"Got it!" Matt said, raising his Digivice. "Gabumon?"

"I'm ready, Matt!" The shy Digimon answered, fire burning in his eyes.

"Gabumon Warp Digivolves to... ZeedGarurumon!""Leomon Warp Digivolves to... SaberLeomon!"Both Megas took off in the direction where the smoke and explosions were coming from.

Joe turned to the citizens reunited around them. "Everyone, follow us calmly to the outside of the town while Leomon deals with the invasion."

The Digimon were all in an uproar of fear and barely listened to Joe. Centauromon stepped up and launched his Solar Cannon up in the sky as a flare to the sky to calm the masses. "Stay calm!" He yelled at the crowd. "Our leader and the Digidestined will take care of the invaders! For now we have to get out of here!"

The crowd calmed down a bit by the yell of one of their leaders and started running away more calmly.

T.K watched the place from where the explosions were coming from. "Matt..."

Patamon flapped beside him. "T.K, we have to go too."

Reluctantly, T.K nodded and followed the group.

Joe stared in the distance too, clenching his fist at the feeling of impotence of not being able to help his friend at the moment. He turned and helped the evacuation.

Mimi for her part grasped her hands together and prayed. "Please... I don't want any more deaths..."

Tankmon didn't know what hit him.

One moment he was destroying the insurgent town with his partners, and the next he felt he was being pierced by hundreds of arrows.

Then nothing.

SaberLeomon growled as five of the ten remaining Tankmons invading his town surrounded him. "I will not forgive you for this! Infinite Arrows!"

The hairs on his mane stood up and were fired like arrows at his opponets. Three Tankmons were able to dodged but the other two received the attacks and they bursted to Data.

The two tank Digimon pointed their weapons at the lion and fired, but SaberLeomon leaped high in the sky and dived to one of them cleaving his head off with his strong fangs.

The last Tankmon pointed his weapons and fired, but the giant lion didn't even flinched. "Infinite Arrows!" He fired his attack again and erased the last one.

In other part of the town, another one-sided fight took place. "Zeed Cannon!"

The dark blue blast impacted against three of the Tankmons, erasing them completly. The wolf turned to the other two, both poiting their weapons and him and firing.

ZeedGarurumon responded by opening his jaws. "Full Metal Breath!" Blasts from every weapon in his body, and his mouth, were launched at the attacks their opponents fired, overpowering them completly and impacting the last Tankmons. "That was easy... Way too easy." ZeedGarurumon said with a suspicious growl.

"I don't believe Machinedramon just sent these few Digimon to attack this place," Matt said as he watched the fight from a safe place.

"Oh there were more!" MetalEtemon declared as he finally make himself known. "But they didn't want to cooperate!"

ZeedGarurumon growled. "Bastard! I'll finish what Metal Greymon and Killua started!"

The monkey cracked his knuckles and smirked. "Let's see about that, wolfie!"

ZeedGarurumon charged his cannon without a moment of pause and fired. "Zeed Cannon!"

The blast went straight to MetalEtemon who just cocked his fist back and threw a punch. The beam connected with the fist and the energy was completely blocked by the evil Digimon's knuckles.

"What?!" Human and Digimon exclaimed at seeing their attack blocked.

"Hehehehe! Chrome Digizoid, son!" The monkey said. "The most resistant material in the Digital World!"

He ran towards the wolf and gave him and uppercut and then grabbed his head to start kneeing it over and over again.

"ZeedGarurumon!" Matt said in distress.

"Infinite Arrows!"

The arrows attack MetalEtemon from behind, but they all bounced out of his skin. "That won't work twice, lion-o," MetalEtemon said dropping the wolf to the ground and turning to the lion.

SaberLeomon didn't seemed bothered by that declaration and instead leaped to the monkey to tear him apart with his fangs.

MetalEtemon smirked and held up his hands, grabbing the lion's long fangs and then kneeing him in the chin, forcing his mouth shut.

"You could use a mint!" MetalEtemon quipped.

He threw the lion over his head and he slammed in the floor with his back.

ZeedGarurumon got to his back and growled. "Full Metal Breath!" He attacked again with his most powerful attack at the metalic monkey's back.

When it impacted his body started to be encased by ice until it was fully frozen. But just as soon as that happen he freed himself with a flex of his muscles.

"Now that's cold!" He joked. "Attacking someone from behind."

He turned and gave the wolf a right hook and then a roundhouse kick. ZeedGarurumon skidded across the ground, struggling to keep his Mega form despite the pain this enemy was causing him.

Matt could only stare in importance as ZeedGarurumon and SaberLeomon were beaten to a pulp. 'No... We can't fail! Or else everyone will be in danger!'

MetalEtemon then grabbed ZeedGarurumon by the leg and started dragging him to where Leomon was standing. "Hehehehe." He placed the two of them together and took aim. "Shot and..." With all his strength he kicked the two of them and sent them flying through the sky. "GOAAAAAAAAAL!"

"ZEEDGARURUMON!" Matt yelled in fear as he ran to where his partner was launched.

MetalEtemon let him go, just for his amusement, he would calmly chase them and now no one could save them. With the freak around the picture, and no Metal Greymon to suddenly evolve to face him, and no lion bastard to take them away, they were all sooooon going to be his.

"I'm just the be~st."

From the borderlines of the town, the evacuation was almost done. In the front, inside of the forest. T.K, Wizardmon and Patamon guided everyone. "Over here, there are caves up ahead where we can hide!" Wizardmon said.

T.K and Patamon showed the way. "Over here!"

"Hurry up!" Centauromon said, from the back, still in the edges of the city. "We have to get out before they reach us!"

From behind the evacuating crowd, the Digidestined watched in the direction where Matt, Gabumon and Leomon were fighting.

"Matt..." Joe mumbled.

A frustrated growl came from behind. "I can't stand this!" Ogremon exclaimed, slamming his club in the ground in frustration. "I should be the one about to beat Leomon!"

Mimi got in his way. "You can't go! Matt and ZeedGarurumon barely could beat him!"

"And why should I listen to you?!" Ogremon said in anger. "You may have saved me before but that doesn't give you the right to be in my way! Much less when you don't want to fight!"

Mimi flinched at hearing that. "B-but."

Chuumon, from the ground, kicked the ogre's shin, to no effect. "Don't talk to her like that, brute!"

The Digimon all finished evacuating and Centauromon turned to them. "Let's go!" He said and took off with the citizens.

"Let's go!" Gomamon told the others and started to make their way out.

But they were interrupted however when they heard a whistling sound coming towards them. Everyone looked up and gasped when something crashed a few meters in front of them.

ZeedGarurumon and SaberLeomon were on the ground, both looking completly battered and broken.

"ZeedGarurumon!?" Gomamon and Palmon gasped.

"L-Leomon?!" Ogremon asked in surprise.

Matt came running a short while later, panting heavily. "H-h-he's coming!"

"Damn right I am~!" MetalEtemon voice sang from above as he jumped down from some buildings. "Time to end this, Digidestined!"

With a huge effort, ZeedGarurumon got up and trembled in pain. "Grr... Grrrr..."

SaberLeomon did the same. "Y-y-you... You won't get away with this!"

"Fufufu! But I will," He declared. "Now, let's see..." He pointed to Matt. "Eenie," then to Joe. "Meenee," Then SaberLeomon. "Maini," Then to Mimi... And he smirked. "Moe. DARK SPIRIT TO ME!"

A black lighting bolt shot down from the sky and towards the girl, who could only stare with a terrified look. He whole life flashing through her eyes.

Then something shoved her.

She landed on the ground and then she heard a blood-curling scream.

"DOAAAAAAAARG!"

Mimi stared with wide eyes as Ogremon received the blast from her. "OGREMON!"

SaberLeomon watched as his old rival received the blast. "NO!"

The ogre with silver hair fell to his knees and twitched in pain. "Gkk... Urgh..."

"Aw, shoot!" MetalEtemon snapped his fingers. "I thought I had one!"

"You bastard!" Matt yelled. "How could you!"

Joe glared at MetalEtemon and took out his Digivice. "Matt stand back!"

"Huh?" Matt look at Joe. "But Joe-"

"ZeedGarurumon can't hold any more," Joe said. "Let me try to hold him off!"

Gomamon was determined. "I'll do what I can, Joe!"

"But Joe..." Matt tried to discuss.

Mimi for her part was at Ogremon's side, burying her face in his torso. "This... I didn't wanted any of this to happen!" She cried.

Palmon was comforting her by caresses her back. "Mimi..."

Chuumon, for his part was bawling his eyes. "Ogremon... SORRY I CALLED YOU BRUTE!"

Ogremon groaned. "Y-y-you guys... have to beat them..." He said. "Both that monkey idiot... And... The Dark Masters..." He coughed. "That way... All of those Digimon... In the forest... Will be... Safe..."

Mimi started at him for a moment, incredulous that the ogre that tormented them back in File Island was worrying for others. "Ogremon..."

Joe gripped his Digivice as MetalEtemon cracked his neck. "You risked your lives by fighting him alone!" He said. "We can't just rely everything in you!" He told Matt.

"Joe..." Matt said, watching the fire in his friend's eyes.

Mimi grasped Ogremon's hand. "I promise... I promise we'll keep them safe." She told him. "And for that..." She clasped her Digivice.

"And to do that..." Joe's grasp on his Digivice tightened.

Mimi found her voice and resolution to continue on this journey: To protect anyone. And with that strength she made a declaration.

Joe for his part was not going to leave anything else to others. If he has a chance to help in any way, he'll take it. And with that strength he made a declaration.

"I WILL FIGHT!"

And with those declarations, the Digivices and Crests shined brighter than ever.

Palmon felt her body glowing and her strength rising.

And Gomamon felt like a wave of power was washing over him.

And they evolved.

"Palmon Warp Digivolves to..." She could feel it; Tongemon's raw strength and Lilymon's gracefulness. Her body growed and adopted a humanoid form, a red skintight suit covered her body with black stockings. Blond hair tied in a ponytail went down her back and whip was formed in both her hands. A flowing green cape on her back. A red rose bud was covering the upper part of her head, while the lower showed her gorgeous lips. "ROSEMON!"

"Gomamon Warp Digivolves to..." He could feel it; Ikkakumon's endurance and Zudomon's strength. His body stands now in two leg. A pair of shields were on his shoulders, and a viking helmet on his head. His body already covered in fur, now had a fur vest. And a pair of metalic flairs were attached to his back. He gripped his fist and bellowed. "VIKEMON!"

Joe and Mimi stared at their partners in awe. "They reached... The Mega Level... Vikemon and..." Joe started.

"Rosemon..." Mimi finished.

Matt stared at his friends new form in awe. "Incredible."

Vikemon and Rosemon stood in front of SaberLeomon and ZeedGarurumon. "Stand back, guys!" Vikemon said in a deep, gruff voice.

"You've done your part," Rosemon's sophisticated voice said. "Now it's our turn."

ZeedGarurumon nodded. "Okay... Don't mess it up..." And with that he regressed to Tsunomon, due to all the injuries he sustained.

SaberLeomon nodded. "We count on you..." He regressed as well, to Leomon.

MetalEtemon scoffed. "So what? You got new flashy forms? It'll take more than that to beat me! Mega Pun-"

"Thorn Whip!" Rosemon's whip glowed red and they extended to wrap themselves around MetalEtemon's arms.

"Wha-?!" The monkey yelped. Then Rosemon started spinning him around and launched him to the sky. "-AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?!"

Vikemon took out his spiky weapons and waited. Everything that goes up eventually goes down, and Etemon was no exception.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAH"

Still yelling in fear, Vikemon waited for the exact moment where MetalEtemon would be in front of him and then.

BLAM!

He slammed his weapons in the metalic Digimon stomach. And like a baseball he was sent flying after being batted away.

MetalEtemon's flight was interrupted by him crashing in a building. He shifted under the rumble and got up, holding his head. "Did someone get the number of that tru-"

"Danger Thorn!" Suddenly hundreds of thorns were launched at him.

MetalEtemon couldn't dodged them and to his displeasure, they all imbedded in his skin. "What?! This can't be! This is Chrome Digizo-" Then he noticed, his beautiful body was covered in cracks. "NO WAY! MY BODY! HOW?!"

A giant shadow loomed over him. "What do you think my flails are made of?" MetalEtemon looked up to see Vikemon towering over him. "Wanna see which one holds off more?" He asked holding both weapons.

Then he slammed the flails on him over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over again, like he was playing the drum and Etemon was said instrument, or like an blacksmith taking out the scum out of a newly forged weapon.

MetalEtemon's shining body was now full of cracks, yet he twitched and mumbled. "Mommy I don wanna go ta scul today..."

Vikemon grabbed his head and looked to Rosemon, who nodded at him. Vikemon nodded back and launched the monkey at her.

Rosemon's whip hardened and took the form of a rapier. "Rose's... Rapier!" She made a thrust with her new weapon and MetalEtemon's incoming body and stabbed through his cracked torso with her sword.

"ARGGGGGH!" He screamed as the cracks in his body worsened. "NO! MY GREAT COMEBACK CAN'T END SO SOON! AAAAAAAAAH!"

With one final scream, MetalEtemon was no more.

The Digimon from the city came back when Leomon roared as a signal that it was safe.

The Digidestined stood around Ogremon's injured body as Wizardmon and Babamon examines him.

The wizard shook his head. "Sorry... The damage... Was too much," He said, regret clear in his voice.

Mimi was kneeling besides him. "I'm sorry... If I hadn't... If I had..." She sobbed. Tanemon and Chuumon comforted as best as she could.

"Hah... I never expected to go out like this..." The ogre panted. "At least... I wanted my rematch... With Leomon..."

Leomon bowed his head to his rival and now comrade in arms. "Ogremon... Forgive me... I thought you didn't changed at all... But you protected the Digidestined!" Tears threatened to fall from the proud warrior's eyes.

"I had... A debt... With them..." He rasped. "You guys... Just... Beat those... Dark Masters..." He breathed out.

With tears in their eyes, The Digidestined all nodded.

Ogremon vanished with a smile on his face. And the resistance mourned for the Digimon that gave his life for a Digidestined. A Digidestined that help save their town and group.

"Will he..." T.K asked, hiccuping due to his crying. "Will he come back? As an egg?"

Leomon shook his head. "I'm sad to inform you that... Primary Village is no more... It was the first place the Dark Masters destroyed."

That took the mood down. At the thought that Ogremon would never come back.

But then an unexpected voice spoke.

"Then let's fix that!" Mimi declared, getting up and drying her tears. "Let's fix the damage this Dark Masters had caused! Once and for all! Let's fulfill our promise to Ogremon!"

The Digidestined looked at each other at their friend's new determination and nodded. "Right!"

Some time later, everyone was once again in the main plaza. Leomon cleared his throat. "I've been informed by our allies Digidestined, that their comrades have captured none other than Puppetmon! Meaning that the forest section in safe to inhabitated!"

That caused a series of applause and clapping from the Digimon gathered.

"So here's our plan: Since we can't know what our allies are up to, we'll wait for this section, the desert section, to be eliminated from the Spiral Mountain!" Leomon said. "We'll wait in the forest section and when the time arrives, we'll march to meet with our allies in the wasteland section to take out Piedmon!"

Another round of applauses.

Bukamon turned to his friends In-training. "Do you think the others are okay?"

Tsunomon grinned. "I'm sure! We just have to wait and reunite with them!"

"I can't wait!" Tanemon said in excitement.

Patamon pouted. "I hope I reach the Mega Level soon... I don't want to be the last one again!"

T.K patted his friend. "Don't worry! I'm sure you'll make it!"

Mimi tilted her head. "I wonder if Sora and Izzy could achieve the Mega Level too."

"I hope they do," Matt said. "The more the merrier!" He was glad that he didn't have the pressure of protecting everyone for himself.

On the hospital, packing her things, Babamon talked with Wizardmon. "Be ready, sunny. My training for you has just begun!"

"I'm ready, madam Babamon," He responded, helping her out.

"Oh, call me doctorine," She said. "The first Digidestined calmed that once!"

"I see then... Doctorine," He said with a smile. "That reminds that I want to ask Killua if he knows him."

"The first anomaly?" Babamon asked, to which she received a nod. "The chances are slim, but go ahead. The world would be a small place if that's the case."

Wizardmon chuckled. "I guess."

Yes, Wizardmon was curious to know if Killua met the first anomaly.

If Killua met... Hisoka Morrow.

A/N: Ummm... A few things:

First) HOLY SHIT THIS CHAPTER WAS A HEADACHE!

Second) Next chapter we'll have Killua in the spotlight again, for now I just wanted to focus on the Resistance group and Mimi and Joe's development to reach the Mega Level.

Third) I hope you like it.

Fourth) About the first anomaly... Yeah I will touch that in the sequel.

K' thks bye!
