After finishing another three years of training with Cell, Peparia returned to the Time Nest. And when she was there, Trunks and Chronoa were standing next to one of the bays where the scrolls of time were held. They were discussing how Demigra hadn't shown up in a few days, and Trunks contemplating how he may have just given up.
And that is when Demigra decided to make his presence known. He started laughing at Trunks, saying he'd never give up. Trunks taunted him, saying there was no one left for him to influence, and Demigra just grinned, and pointed at the scrolls before disappearing.
Chronoa freaked out, knowing exactly what Demigra had done. She said that Demigra had decided to mess with the time when Lord Beerus came to Earth, looking for the Super Saiyan God. Peparia's brow furrowed; she didn't like Beerus due to what he had done to Planet Vegeta and her species. And though she was as strong as True Golden Frieza, her strength was still not enough to match the God of Destruction.
But maybe I don't need to be able to match him, Peparia thought as she took the scroll. She concentrated, and she felt the same displacement she always felt when she traveled through time. I just need to be able to hold him off.
Peparia warped in as the battles began; Beerus was angry because he hadn't gotten any pudding after Buu had eaten them all. Beerus raged, and Peparia powered up to her full strength without transforming and joined the battle alongside Buu and Piccolo.
Beerus taunted the fighters, as he was far beyond their league. Even when Gotenks fused and and Gohan joined the fight in Super Saiyan 2. He was even far beyond Vegeta after he got his rage boost when Beerus attacked his wife.
Eventually, Goku teleported in and told them all that knew a way to find out about the Super Saiyan God. He summoned Shenron, who told them what he knew from the Namekian book of legends. The dragon told them that if six pure hearted Saiyans came together and funneled ki into one of them, they'd become the Super Saiyan God.
Goku looked around and motioned for Peparia join them.
"No," Peparia said. "I want nothing to do with anything Yamoshi came up with."
"You'd refuse a God of Destruction?" Beerus said, glaring at Peparia.
"I'm not part of this timeline, and you don't need me anyway," Peparia said. "There's another Saiyan here that you can't see."
"She's right," Videl said, coming forward. "Gohan, I'm pregnant."
Gohan was, of course, overcome with joy, but this wasn't the time for that. Videl walked into the circle and her hair turned golden, channeling power from the unborn Pan into the ritual, and they transferred all that power into Kakarot, turning his hair and eyes red, now the Super Saiyan God.
Peparia glared at Kakarot, but she knew this was the proper history. Kakarot was the one who would fight Beerus, giving him the fight of his life. They would fight for several minutes, tearing at the fabric of reality until Kakarot fell out of the form, but still absorbing the power of the Super Saiyan God for a time before it ran out completely, putting him on the backfoot.
Peparia simply followed along with the battle, waiting for Demigra make his presence known. And it wasn't until Kakarot had fallen out of the form when Demigra took control over Beerus. Everybody panicked, thinking that a mind controlled God of Destruction would destroy everything, including time itself.
But something happened that Demigra hadn't expected. Beerus redirected his attack back at Demigra's phantom. Demigra dodged the attack, but Beerus glared at Demigra, saying trying to control a God of Destruction was "blasphemous."
The battle that came was completely one sided. Beerus' power far out matched Demigra's. However, Demigra taunted them the entire time, saying that since this battle wasn't part of history, he'd still be able to absorb battle energy from it.
But Peparia refused allow that to happen. Transforming into Super Saiyan 2, she charged up a ki laced punch and rushed right at Demigra's phantom. She passed right through it, and Demigra just glared at her, saying that they'd soon meet.
Peparia flew back to Beerus and explained what was happening; that she was a Time Patroller, and Demigra was threatening all of time. Beerus merely stroked his chin before summoning Whis.
All three appeared inside the Time Nest. Chronoa, was of course, terrified, given the capricious nature of this God of Destruction. But Chronoa would not allow Beerus to interfere with the timeline; she was still the Lord of Time. His existence depended on Chronoa ensuring that time itself kept on rolling. That only Zeno was above her in terms of importance, and that her agents could not be stopped without dire consequences for everyone.
But Beerus wasn't ready to give up that easy. He wanted to ensure Peparia and Trunks were strong enough to handle Demigra. So, he made an ultimatum; they proved his strength to Beerus, or he remained and risked destroying the Time Nest when Demigra escaped.
So Chronoa created a pocket dimension and allowed Trunks, Whis, Beerus and Peparia to enter it. It was a wasteland on Earth, or course, since that was the most common place for battles to take place during Kakarot's lifetime. Peparia and Trunks entered their battle stances, and stared down Beerus and Whis, ready for battle.
And once again, the battle was one sided. Neither Peparia nor Trunks had the power needed to take on a God of Destruction or his attendant. But something was strange; they were sloppy. Especially Whis; Peparia knew that Whis should be able to dodge anything and everything due to his angelic nature, and Beerus' Hakaishin nature should grant him power beyond their wildest dreams. And yet, they were losing. Intentionally losing.
When Peparia and Trunks were drained and breathing heavy, Beerus decided that he was done. He collapsed the dimension, which brought everybody back to the Time Nest. And when prodded by Chronoa about what his answer was, he said "I'm going to take a nap before destroying Demigra. Seems like a good idea."
Whis added that Beerus' naps were years long, and they'd get no more assistance from him. This was the closest thing to a vote of confidence that a God of Destruction would give them.
After they disappeared, everyone knew this was the end. Chronoa had measured the energy he had gathered, and she knew that the next thing Demigra did would be enough to free him.
Peparia knew she was ready. All her life, all the pain and tragedy, all the training and fighting had led to this moment. She would kill this so called "Demon God", and she would fulfill the purpose Shenron had set for her.
